A major unexpected soap shocker came late yesterday when it was announced that The Bold and the Beautiful’s central young heroine Kim Matula (Hope) was leaving the series after five years!  Matula has now confirmed her departure through her own words and photos on her Instagram account, where she notes she just taped her last day and is moving on to spread her wings!

Kim shared the following sentiments to her many fans:  “What can I say about today? I can officially confirm that I filmed my last scenes at The Bold and The Beautiful.  It was a day full of love and laughter and reminiscing about the past 5 years. I made the incredibly difficult decision not to resign my contract so that I could spread my wings as an actor and see what this big beautiful world has to offer. But I can never put into words just how amazing and inspiring this show has been. What a huge part of my life. I do not see this as a ‘goodbye but more of a ‘see you later.’ Thank you for giving me an unforgettable 5 years as Hope Logan and thank you to every single viewer who sat side by side with me on this journey. Cheers to the next adventure!!”

As On-Air On-Soaps reported earlier, a B&B rep says that the series has no immediate plans to recast the role of Hope.  However, fans of the series are wondering how the exit of Matula will impact the current storyline where Hope finds herself pregnant!

So, what do you think about Kim’s message on her departure? Do you think B&B should recast the role? Will you miss Kim from your TV screens every day?  Share your thoughts below!

It’s a pity that Kim Matula has decided to leave the show and I wish her all the best!
I’d like to see Jessica Forrester back! What abour a new triangle Liam-Ivy-Jessica?

I loved Steffy! I loved Steffy and Liam. I loved Taylor and Ridge so if they ruined that well I can live without Hopeless

Yes Indeed she will be missed & I Do hope that a plan is put into motion to get a replacement in there for her & it better not be quinn who kills her or anything like that & I so hope that the baby lives …this is sad ! Find a replacement ! Lol farewell Matula may life be good to you & you find what you’re looking for ! You will be sorely missed ….

Can you blame her?? Kissing the same 2 men back to back, boring & nasty.. Time for Wyatt and his mother to move into the Bates Motel. Tired of Quinn and I don’t even watch BB very much. Go Kim! see what else U can find!

Excellent, we’ll be rid of this dreadful, over-exposed character soon then! 🙂

YEEEEEESSS!!!

Oh well, there goes my rewrite! Instead of Hope’s baby being Liam’s it is Wyatt’s and she leaves because Quinn is overbearing and will insist on her involvement in the baby’s life.

Bold and Beautiful will NEVER be the same. I loved Hope and stopped watching
when she married Weasel. Could not stand them together, Was waiting for Liam and
Hope to have their Happily ever after, but guess that won’t happen, So I am through.
GOOD LUCK KIM. I WISH YOU THE BEST. 🙁

I too stopped watching then. I have read about the show waiting for the writers to get their mistake right and have that baby be Liam’s and reunite this much deserving Amazingly Perfect together Couple FINALLY!! Well not now. I REALLY wish Kim would stay and the writers would finally give her character the happiness she deserves with Liam. The only upside to this would be if Kim leaves, Hope her character could leave to think due to Wyatt & his crazy Mom and then either loose the baby, due to stress or have complications with the baby and find out it is Liam’s and either way have Kim comeback as Hope after spreading her wings for a while or recast Hope.

my name for him is Slyatt – such a toad but I do like weasel

Kim has made a movie called MAYBE SOMEDAY. According to IMDB, The Movie does not have a release date?? If you go on IMDB (internet movie data base) and type in Kim Matula, All the information is there. She is an AWESOME
Actress and she will go far. LOVE HER. Bell ruined her Character. Can’t watch.
Read the spoilers. Liam and Ivy have NO chemistry. LIAM AND HOPE 4EVER

Things were just starting to get so good now, why do you have to leave? Nobody will be able to replace you. I really wish you would stay! But…your young and want to explor more options! Go make some great movies we can see you in! Good Luck Kim! (Hope)

This is the exact reason you don’t focus so much on one character, they should have utilize all the actors on that canvas, they have a great cast that was pushed aside, I just hope brad bell learned his lesson.. He had the like of Heather Tom On that she which we never see, he got rid of our beloved veterans,so he could focus on the never ending stupid triangle of hope and her followers which turned me off from the show, now Kim decided to spread her wings. You can’t blame the girl, she’s young and should, I wish Kim all the best in her endeavors but am looking forward to brad taking this show back to what made it great and away from the nonsense it is now

Agree 100%. Nothing against the actress, but the character of Hope should never have been the central story of the show. She and Liam can leave together and never come back and let’s bring some more real Foresters home.

Kim reminds me of a young Charlotte Ross. I don’t watch the show, but wish the actress much luck in her career!

Very sad to see her go. I love her on the show. She has done a tremendous job. Will miss her and Hope greatly. I think they will have to recast or else refocus the show on other characters.

Personally, I get irritated at these actors and actresses who walk away from their roles, assuming they will go on to bigger and better things, but at the same time want to leave the ‘door open’ in case that doesn’t happen.

If you want to leave, fine, leave. But don’t put the show in the position of not being able to recast the part, because you might want to come back later.

Everybody’s replaceable, in my humble opinion.

That’s not any different than any other “job”. Nobody works for the same place their entire life. Boredom sets in, you move on. Better job comes along, you move on. You want to learn something new, you move on. You want or need more money, benefits, etc., you move on.

Actors and actresses are doing a job and are no different than anyone else. The move on and just like us, if it doesn’t work out we hope we can return to our old job and sometimes do.

Good luck Kim!

Oh, I get that… and I wish her well. I just seems to me that when they say they ‘might’ come back… Kimberly mccollough is another one that comes to mind… they keep the character off the map, when a recast would be perfectly logical solution.

They put a casting call out for her character several weeks ago and do not believe everything that social media puts out there. There were decisions made higher up for her exit.

I’m relieved to hear that. Thanks.

Good.

Maybe now Bell can tell a real story instead of the never ending flip flopping of Hope(less).

No different than the never ending flip flopping of Ridge, Eric, Brook, Rick, etc.

That appears to be the only stories Bell knows.

The character of Hope needs a rest as does the flip-flopping love triangle stories. You are so right!

Pray for the end of the same old love triangle. Bill Bell needs inspiration!

completely agree. hated the never-ending tri.

Sad that she’s decided to exit the role of Hope, but sometimes actors have to take the risks and explore other opportunities. I’m sure that the series will recast Hope, as she’s an important part of the canvas, it’ll be sad that it won’t be Kimberly, though.

If they recast I have a few suggestions.
Terri Conn
Kelley Missal
Hayden Panettiere
Leven Rambin
Brianne Moncrief

I donot think so…if Hope is recast BBell will find an unknown for the part. That is his stock-in-trade casting technique.

Finally!!!! The triangle from hell has come to an end.

That’s what we said when Steffy left the show, but then Wyatt came on… so now we can probably expect a Liam/Ivy/Wyatt triangle… fantastic

oh no please dont even think that, but I know it’s probably true that writers dont seem to have any original thoughts

We can only hope!!!! I share your pain. lol

Lou…my thoughts EXACTLY!!!!! Yep.

Will miss Kim as Hope. I wish her lots of Luck and Happiness in her future.

I have to say I really am glad to see this happen as the character has been written so poorly… the writers put her in a position of being over exposed and unlikeable. I was happy to see her improve while working with Wyatt, but I just think there are too many primadonnas on that show.

I know actors want to get out and try new things, but work is limited out there…. even for Extremely talented actresses like Eileen Davidson, Michelle Stafford, Elizabeth Hendrickson, and Kelly Sullivan. Kim is certainly not even close to having the abilities of the aforementioned, it could be the kiss of death for her career.

I like the character of Wyatt, and hope he can continue to stay. I hope when they recast the role, as you know they will, they will choose to write her a lot more interesting and multi dimensional!

This show is just getting worse. The storylines are just really bad. 🙁

Will miss Kim but if she isn’t replaced how is this going to affect the storyline?

Maybe Hope dies during childbirth???

I do not believe they are 5 months ahead like DOOL is, so when they say she has already taped her last scenes, I do not think it will be as Hope giving birth unless it is a miscarriage.

That is my question too Dianne. The actress that played Steffy left much the same way, while her character was pregnant, and we all know how that played out. I can’t imagine her character would take off while pregnant. Looks like it’ll be another sad ending, storyline-wise.

I love KM, but honestly, I don’t blame her, all of her storyline have been based around a triangle and she’s been playing the same beat for years with no challenging material. This is probably along the same lines of why JMW left when she did. These actresses are young and probably in demand, so why stay somewhere and play the SAME story. Job security is nice and all, but it gets dull when you know there is more out there. I can see Hope fleeing LA to get away from Quinn, so I believe that is the route they are going. Maybe bring back a rejuvenated Hope(played by Julie Marie Bergman) in time for May 2015 Sweeps?? By then, Wyatt will be after Ivy and that triangle will be full steam ahead. I just hope whoever plays this role next, Bell has the sense to know these young actors want DIFFERENT storyline!!!!! Repetiveness in this day and age runs the young ppl off. I doubt highly that JMW ever comes back. I hope KM lands in Salem as the new Belle Black, her and Jason Cook would sizzle!!!! Or head to PC as Serena Baldwin and give Kiki a run for her money with Michael and Morgan!!! KM and Morgan would be HOT!!!!!

If they want to bring Belle Back on DAYS I would much rather see Martha Madison back in the role. And Jason Cook as Shawn-Douglas, not Brandon Beemer. I do really like the idea of Kim as Serena though! If the show wants to bring on a new character, I think Serena is definitely the way to go.

Ideally though, Kim would return to the role in the future. I can’t really see Julie Marie Berman as Hope, she would better suit Jessica Forrester IMO. I wonder what Brad Bell is going to do now, with his two stars (Kim and KKL) off the show? Is he ACTUALLY going to write decent story for the myriad of underused actors on the show? And how is Hope’s story going to end? I feel like she’ll move to Milan to get away from Quinn and her craziness. But without Hope, where does Wyatt end up? And Quinn? It’ll be interesting to see how this all goes.

I think Hope will go on the run to keep the baby safe from Quinn. Wyatt will be done with Quinn(for awhile), and this will put Liam and Wyatt at even greater odds. Ivy and Liam will grow closer, but Wyatt will take notice as well. Liam will propose to Ivy, and nuhope will return(with baby in tow) just in time to bust up Liam and Ivy’s May Sweeps wedding by announcing the baby is Liam’s, not Wyatt’s!!!!

This plot line that Richard wrote seems to be the way they are going to take Hope out of the show until about next May! I truly believe Hope will return with her baby…disturbing everything and of course the inevitable paternity story!

Serena could be in a love triangle with brothers Micheal and Morgan…i think KM would love the challenge doing a love triangle involving two brothers…lol

Maybe Quinn causes Hope to miscarry the baby and Hope has a breakdown and sent to a mental hospital until the actress decides to return or replaced by JMB who comes back with revenge for Quinn!!!

LOL…..i always love reading your comments. I’m ready for Brooke to head home. She’s gonna have her hands full dealing with the Ridge/Caroline mess, Quinn, and Bill.

From what I have read so far…this week Hope and her baby will be put in jeopardy by Quinn and that along with help from Liam will be Hope’s exit from the show. I bet by February the part will be recast and Hopes character will be see in some far away place that only Liam knows about having her baby and by next April or May like Richard said will come back to LA (secretly-of course) in time to disrupt Liam/Ivy’s wedding along and create a paternity mess for all…

She has improved as an actress maybe it’s a good thing for her but it will be even better for the show

I wonder where they will take Liam, Wyatt, Quinn, Ivy from there? I like KM as an actress but am so tired of the triangle. Maybe Quinn will get so desperate to see her Grandchild she kidnaps Hope and that’s how km leaves? Sounds good to me Lol

Kim Matula is perfection. I wonder if she’s over her ridiculous storyline. Huge loss for this show.

I know that I got soooooooooooooo burned out by the Ridge/Brooke/Taylor triangle I can only imagine what KM must be feeling after the last 4 years of this storyline going on with now an added player- Wyatt!

I reeaally don’t want KM to go. She & her character have the class & kindness to be the head of that family. She’s the most beautiful, inside & out, of anyone since Taylor of the 90s, & they should stop screwing around with her character. I hate the pregnancy storyline. Though I do enjoy her telling off Quinn.

They should recast soon to keep the Quinn/Hope drama continuing because it is so much fun to watch. 🙂

Well, it looks like Brad Bell is actually going to have to story write for some other characters besides Hope and Brooke seeing as they are both off the show. I really want all this Hopeless love triangle craziness to end and for the show to get back to its roots in fashion. That’s when the show is best, and that’s what it’s known for, not all this lovey-dovey kiddie squad garbage. I know Hope, Steffy, Liam, etc are the future of the show, but turning it into the next generation of the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor madness is not and never was the way to go

I want to see Jackie, Nick, Bridget, Owen, Thomas, Steffy, Taylor and Thorne back ASAP. And behind them, Amber! Imagine having Amber and Quinn vying for Deacon at the same time! THAT would be a very interesting story, even though it is a triangle.

And for once, I just want Liam to stay with a girl – Ivy. I think they’re smoking together. And maybe Wyatt could take up with Steffy? And then I would LOVE a romance between Jackie and Eric, that would be spectacular. I never liked her and Owen together.

Speaking of missing characters, where are Marcus and Dayzee? I know they were both bumped to recurring, but seriously, B&B needs to start managing where their characters are much better, and giving them proper exit stories. They can’t just be MIA forever, or until they’re needed, without explanation.

So maybe Kim leaving is a good thing. It will certainly be a different show, but maybe it will give other actors and characters a chance to shine without the Hopeless story taking up 98% of the week’s airtime.

Kim is such a beautiful girl and a pretty good actress – wish her well. However I am so glad they are not recasting – I am so-so OVER this entire Wyatt -Quinn -Hope – Liam fiasco everyday – everyday – – Yawn – Yawn or should I say Fast Forward. Maybe now we can get onto something new – I think we should roll with the Ridge – Caroline thing. He is showing true colors now and once he has Caroline in the bag he can move on to one of the other 2 or 3 women in town he hasn’t slept with yet. Katie can get back with Bill just in time for Brooke to come back and break them up again. Then and only then they could recast Hope so she can come back and break up Ivy and Liam who should be in a serious relationship. And the wheels go round and round. Rick and Maya – who cares let them do what they want.

Whilte on their trip to Amsterdam, unfortunately Hope has a miscarriage and then goes off the deep end. She will have to seek medical attention for her mental issues and will be written off leaving Wyatt to deal with his mom alone. Will Wyatt then go after Ivy?

Good for her and I wish her much success.

I think she just leaves town and comes back when they want to recast. Meantime its all gonna be about Caroline, Rick and suddenly nasty Maya

After investing so much of the storytelling in this character of course the role should be recast.

Wow! Leaving so soon in this story arch. Will miss you, KM!
What will happen? I think that Hope goes into a coma, possibly because of something her MIL from hell has done? And we see A LOT of people talking to her comatose self until the writers decide where to take this.
A lot cleaner than what GH is going through this week….

The character was annoying and intolerable when I was still a viewer, but that was long ago. I stopped my viewership when Stephanie, Taylor and Steffy were written out.
So with this minor blip, good luck to her.
Personally, it was a silly move for her to decide to seek out opportunities when she had a steady income and was recently promoted to being ‘front and center’ which she simply threw away. Why accept that, have her character get pregnant and then walk away? Baffles me. Impulsive and very disrespectful to her fans and BBell, IMO.

Wish the actress all the best, but please, let this end the triangle. It makes all the characters boring, predictable and unlikeable. We all deserve better.

Since I pretty much only watch in hopes of Liam and Hope finally getting together and with news I guess that won’t be happening. I can’t tolerate all the crazies running around on this soap and I think they are attempting to see which one can be the most evil…Mia is money hungry and is only trying to get her hands on the man who will run Forester’s. I can’t believe Rick is so oblivious to her machinations. He really must be crossing the line to the crazy side. Wyatt is almost a wicked as his mom and now Quinn has enlisted Hope’s father and Deacon just follows like a little sheep so he can hop in bed with her. Just not entertainment to me. Thankfully I haven’t much time invested in this soap like I did One Life to Live and All My Children so I think I can find something else more constructive to do with my mornings.

She will be a perfect fit of DAYS, listen up PTB..Very talented actress and love the character she play so much up until the time I started boycotting B&B…I wish her all the best.

No way, Omar! Every time I’ve seen her acting, she looks into the camera. It’s too distracting! The story is that she refused to sign a new contract, but the truth could be that she was fired for her bad habit!

KIM WAS NOT FIRED. SHE HAS MADE A MOVIE “MAYBE SOMEDAY”
DUE OUT BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR I THINK. CHECK IMDB.

Awww man. I will genuinely miss her. She did the best she could with what she was given. She is an actresss not a writer on the show. I enjoyed her in the role of Hope. I will truly miss her.

I have said for the last 7-10 years the writing on this show is so bad and repetitive with the on going love triangles that NEVER end! The show has had so many departures- Susan Flannery, Ron Moss, Hunter Tylo, Jacqueline McInnes Wood, Adam Gregory, Adrienne Frantz and now Kim… BBell needs to get some new writers and take the show in another direction!

Best wishes for you Kim Matula. I will miss seeing your character “Hope”.
I wish the show wouldn’t be so wishy washy with all the love triangles. There needs to be a g good storyline. I wish the show would get rid of Maya’a character or get someone to replace this actress. She does not fit the part.

Wow! I was sooo caught up in Hope and Liam’s undying love for one another! I really had high hopes that they would finally get to be together. The amount of resistance that this couple has endured was ridiculous! I’m totally disgusted that this never happened. Although I’m happy for “Kim” to spread her wings, I don’t think I will continue to watch this program… The back n forth for so long and now their story just ends… Very dissapointed

No don’t recast her

Good luck Kim in your future endeavours…We will miss you. I too, like other viewers, were hoping for you to get back with character Liam, only right. Your character made the story line. I have been a fan of the show for manyyears,, now dreams of the “great couple” aren’t there….bold and beautiful was for you….too bad…Life does go on….Wish yoiu were staying! Take care!!!

I wish Kim the best of luck…it was fun to see her Hope for the 5 years. I will miss her! But the part needs to be recast as to keep the show moving! Either BBell will go with an unknown or here are my suggestions- Natalie Hall or Amber Childers who both played Colby Chandler on AMC at different points.

Kim Matula and Scott Clifton leave behind LOVE TOGETHER FOREVER memories for us to cherish in their roles as Hope and Liam who were once married trying to find happiness together but unfortunately were kept apart by evil forces, a love story leaving us in limbo with the baby Hope is now carrying and protecting. We may never know what happens to Hope and the baby. Hope turns to Liam who is doing all he can to protect her and her baby from her psycho mother-in-law which he warned to keep far away from Hope. Liam is risking his own life for Hope by doing this what better way to prove one’s love since her husband should be the one to get mental help for his mom. Kim and Scott are irreplaceable in the roles as Hope and Liam. All depending what will be the outcome upon Kim’s leaving, the storyline may need to continue and recasting Hope for a while should be considered. Will miss you Kimberly Matula and great success in your future endeavours.

I hate the idea of Kim leaving the B&B,she is the main reason why i tune in everyday,if i can’t watch it ,i always make sure i PVR the show. It’s just not the same without her,she is a fantastic actress. When i heard she will be returning for a few episodes i couldn’t have been happier. So excited to see her again on April 17 & 20th. Can’t wait to watch it.
After everything that Hope, and Liam went through to be together,it’s a shame that they can’t be a couple without any interference ..They were so much in love, and they deserve to be together once, and for all. Let’s see Hope, and Liam back as a loving couple, and lets’ actually see a beautiful wedding.

Ivy,and Liam do not make a good couple. I was so disappointed to see they hooked those two up. Totally unmatchable.

On a replacement for Hope on Bold and the Beautiful. CBS just let go actress Kelli Goss who was Courtney on Young and the Restless..Kelli would be perfect for the new hope. She’s got looks and physically speaking she has the right coloring and would be believable as the daughter of Brooke and Deacon blond types with blond hair and blue eyes. I’ve read different sources say that Kristen Aldersen or Alderson the ex-Kiki Jerome should play her. No Way!!! Hope is a beauty a fashion model.Kristen Aldersen is a wonderful actress but she would be awful as Hope.Speaking of the character of Hope she has a half-brother on her paternal side (son of Deacon Sharpe and the late Becky Garrison)whose character is about two years older than Hope’s but the crazy writers of Bold and Beautiful and Young and the Restless have the character as a junior high or high school boy being raised by his mother’s aunt Tawny and cousin Amber Moore the ex-wife of Rick Forrester. I guess the character of Hope forgot she has a half-brother or doesn’t know of his existence and Quinn who recently married Deacon doesn’t know that she has a stepson. They should bring in the illegitimate would be adult now son of Deacon Sharpe. He could be a good looking chip off the old block.Deacon is good looking and Becky Garrison was very attractive.CBS could save some money by hiring one of their own actresses for Hope Logan.I

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast

Published

After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.

Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.

The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.

In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.

Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Photo: NBC

Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. And we still have 6 fresh episodes yet to air, and I do hope you tune in enjoy the remainder of the series. They’re the best we’ve done.”

As he wrapped up his sentiments, Sears signed off with, “The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I figured out I have to learn again. I’ve been trying to get down to the heart of the matter. But everything changes…Thank you, Brilliant Minds.”

The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). ‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?

Published

on

By

On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.

As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.

Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Courtesy/ABC

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.

BROTHERLY LOVE?

Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”

With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”

BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE

Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”

So, who do you think will be the person to blow Cassius’ cover? Will it be Britt herself? Josslyn? Liesl? Brennan? Nina? Lulu? Rocco, Maxie, Cullum or someone else? Let us know your pick in the comment section.
