Kristian Alfonso Signs New Deal With DAYS! Will Hope Get A Major Story?

Days of our Lives star Kristian Alfonso (Hope) who just celebrated her 30 years on the NBC soap, has just signed a new one-year deal with the series to continue on in a role she has loved for decades, according to Soap Opera Digest.

Alfonso told SOD on her contract renewal, “I’m excited about the future and always humbled to be asked to stay with Days of our Lives for another year.”

Now the question is … will Hope have major story?  And, what will Days of our Lives do now that Peter Reckell has stated on Twitter that Ken Corday and he could not reach terms for him to return as Bo Brady ? Should DAYS just recast Bo, or let Hope have a new love interest in her life?

What storyline would you like to see Hope involved in? Let us know your thoughts!

The ideal scenario would be for it to be revealed Bo has run off with Carly. It frees Hope up to start a new relationship with someone rather than mope around for a year mourning Bo if he is killed off. Besides, Bo stuffed up when he went back to Hope for more nagging and playing second fiddle. No wonder he left town.

LOL this truly sad!!! Not in a million years would Days be that stupid!

You’re up for another year of zero storyline for Hope, Carol? Enjoy. Zzzzz

Michelle, you’re clearly anti-Hope, so why are you wasting your time posting comments and responses? Are you that jealous that KA is still with the show & CC was fired over 2 years ago and doesn’t have a contract role on a different soap?
As for your response to Carol, KA’s tweets make it sound like a story is indeed in the works. Plus, she’s worked for the last almost 3 weeks straight.

Did you even watch Bo’s exit? He left Salem to go to California with Caroline forger Alzheimer’s treatment. Also, we know that Bo came back to Salem with Caroline and then went to visit Shawn, Belle, & Claire around Christmastime and stayed with them for quite a while. Nothing in the story makes it even remotely likely thar Bo would be with Carly, especially not in any romantic fashion.
Bo went back to Hope because she’s the woman he truly loves. Even Carly had sensed that Bo still loved Hope.
It would make much more sense to have Hope anticipate Bo’s return only to hear that his planehas gone missing, or something like that. The scenario would allow for Hope to move on and be romantically paired with another man, while still leaving the door open for Bo’s return if Peter & Ken were to be able to agree on terms at some point in the future.

Well stated, Amanda!!

As usual, as soon as Carly is mentioned the fanatical Hope fans come out, nastiness blazing. FYI I’m not a Bo and Carly fan. However, Days missed a huge storyline opportunity for Hope, Bo and Carly. As soon as Bo returned to Hope their screen time became non existent resulting in Peter Reckell’s departure due to lack of storyline. If you want to watch Hope mope around after Bo for the next 12 months, good for you. However, I’m long over that. Hope needs a storyline, something she hasn’t had since Bo left. I’d prefer they didn’t kill Bo off, but Hope needs to be freed from him so Kristian Alfonso has the opportunity to do something interesting and creative.

I’m incredibly excited abt fture stry!Thnk U4 having me@days RT@SoapDigest:Exclusive!New DAYS Deal …

Recast, kill off Bo and give her a new love interest? Hmm…just give her and the viewers a satisfying storyline with or without Bo. Same for Marlena without John, Abe without Lexi, and Kayla without Patch. Days has some pretty huge talent in its cast and what a waste when much of its not used. Days could easily give Y&R something to worry about if it would use all its cast in character driven storylines that connect legacy characters with the newbies and try to be less campy.

Did ya notice that the contract is only for a year? And that Days is only renewed thru the fall of 2024. Hmmmmm+mmmm.

2014, not 2024, one year!

LOL– that would be something if NBC committed to Days for eleven more years, but atlas, just wishful thinking there on our part. I guess they couldn’t offer her a longer deal until they know whether they have a life after 2014 is my guess. Or maybe they do know something we don’t– would hate to lose Days just when it is picking up again.

Why not pair Hope up with Vargas? They have a nice chemistry, and that way, we can keep Sean Douglas. I want Peter back first, but if that’s not happening with Bo, Vargas would be a good plan B. Sean has expressed a real love for the show and cast and has done a great job with Blake, Greg and Ari. This would be a great way to keep him on the canvas while giving Hope more story and a new romantic pairing.

I like Hope with Vargas but I have a feeling the new cast call for a named actor between 45 -55 is for KA. The character sounds as if it would be an interesting fit with Hope. I have a feeling Days has already dealt with the Bo mess. They are 4 months ahead now. If it is for Hope I can’t wait to see who he is!

I ‘Hope’ the actor turns out to be Jack Wagner exFrisco(G.H.) I think J.W. and K.A. would have great chemistry!

Great! DAYS has been turning out some fabulous episodes recently. Many fans have always wondered about Hope’s potential without Bo and I think the writer’s now really need the let the character spread her wings and that doesn’t automatically mean she is going to jump into bed with the next handsome stranger who passes through town, but that Hope will be explored as a character in the way she was during the Princess Gina era. Who knows, maybe it’s time to revisit the whole Gina angle.

I was always hoping Princess Gina had a child out there whether it was John when he was the Pawn or someone else that Hope didn’t remember having. Could be interesting– but I guess we will just have to wait and see what they have in mind for her—but a long lost son or daughter seems feasible.

Hope needs a new love; no soap character survives very long without a love interest if they do are boring as heck. Bo has been off screen almost a year now so bring on a new man, it is way past time for Days to knock Bo off. I am thrilled she is staying; now come on Days gives us a new man to challenge Hope.

I wish they could come to tes with Peter. I miss his character so much

Bo is certainly missed as I have watched his storyline for years. But Hope certainly needs to get involved in a new storyline or she will remain in the background. She is very talented, so use her or DOOL will lose her. A year is a short contract.

Hope should be with Justin, allowing a great story for three vets: KA, WK
and JE.

They tried Hope/Justin in 2010 and it didn’t really take off. I personally think that they work better as just friends.

The writing was not near as good back then. Why not have hope
use Justin till the next best thing hits Salem. We would at least
have a healthy dose of Adrienne. A triangle with very sharp points!!!

They have done a pretty poor job of explaining Bo’s absence at this point. I think the last time they even showed communication between Bo & Hope it was when the line went dead and she was unable to reach him with call backs. Frankly, the idea that he is roaming the world to dig up dirt on Stefano was always pretty lame.

At this point either recast or come up with plausible reason for him to be gone, one that frees Hope for another relationship.

It is true — it has to be one of the lamest reasons in the history of soaps. I mean really– digging dirt on Stefano— how many years have they been trying to do that? Surely if there was any dirt to be found some Brady would have found it by now.
I honestly think they were hoping to lure PR back somehow and they didn’t want to do anything drastic with the character until all hope was gone, which looks like it now. So yeah, it is time to wrap up this loose end by recasting or letting the character go MIA, so Hope can move forward.

Bo has gone to be with Carly. He hasn’t told Hope because he doesn’t want to lose access to his daughter. But Carly and Bo are definitely together again.

Why did they sign her for just one year? By all means give her a new guy and a new story- Bo can’t be recast.

Either recast Bo or have him leave or something. This disappearing act is not realistic. Why is he away?

Why can’t Hope have a huge storyline that has nothing whatsoever to do with Bo (or any other romantic interest)? There is more to a woman’s life than a man. So Bo is not there for a while. Life goes on.

So tired of Sammie and EJ as only couple. They get way to much air time and it is hard to root for them with all their relationship up and downs. Hope definitely needs a hot guy to return as Bo. The Dan and Jen relationship off and on is really getting boring. There is just no super couples!!!! Let Marlena and Roman rekindle, get Erik and Nicole in a relationship. There is to much Sammie and EJ crap, JJ issues, and no passionate romantic couples. Justin and his wife just don’t have the drawl.

Like some of you, i think Bo should be killed off if Peter definitely doesn’t want to come back. That would leave for my favorite, Shawn Douglas to come back for the funeral and Hope can finally reunite with her son. And Hope, Shawn, Ciara can mourn Bo but Hope can move on eventually and become romantically involved with Rafe!

They need to resolve the Bo storyline. Either recast him with the likes of Robert K Kelly or give Hope a new love interest but don’t kill Bo off. That leaves the door open for his return should PR reach an agreement in the future with DOOL. I can see Hope with Rafe or a completely new character who is rugged, compassionate, adventurous, handsome, protective, nurturing …similar to Rafe’s character but one who is not ever going to stray in anyway. Please let’s not do the Hope “Gina” John coupling or the Hope Justin thing. I’d also like to see more of the decency the Horton Family stands for which was once represented by Tom and Alice and the values and lessons they taught their family as well as the strong love and family bond that was always portrayed. Salem and the Horton Family need a good strong glue that binds and heals. It seems to me like most of the story lines are negative and there is total chaos in Salem. The show is missing anything of a wholesome and joyful nature. Real life is crazy enough and we need an escape from the negative aspects which at least one happy wholesome story line would provide. Nobody is happy in Salem anymore and nothing ends happily ever after.
