In case you missed last night’s edition of TOLN Soaps Live with Michael Fairman, All My Children fan favorites, Debbi Morgan (Angie)  and Darnell Williams (Jesse) were the very special guests discussing all things relating to Angie and Jesse on the current online version of the iconic soap operas, and moments from the past!

Debbi and Darnell talked about their Daytime Emmy victories, when they were on the Oprah Winfrey Show as guests, how Debbi handles all the material in the current sex-trafficking storyline where she is called upon to cry almost every episode, and Darnell chimes in on why Jesse keeps lying to his Angela!

In addition, we learn what Darnell and Debbi thought of their time over at The Young and the Restless as Sarge and Harmony, what they think will happen on AMC now that David appears to be an interloper in their now rocky marriage, and what happened when Darnell and Debbi met for the first time decades ago! Did they like each other?  You will find out!

Plus, Michael names the Power Moments of the Week for both All My Children and One Life to Live!  See if you agree with his picks!  And he takes a look at the social issue storylines currently airing on All My Children which continues in the shows tradition created by Agnes Nixon.

After the jump, listen to the lively show featuring Debbi and Darnell! Let us know what you thought about what they had to say! Did it surprise you?  What was your favorite moment?

The woman’s daughter was kidnapped, doped up, raped and impregnated. I’d hate to see how you’d react if that happened to your daughter. That poor child.

so what, it is a soap story and Angie crying through every scene including her scenes with David and Jesse and everyone else within 2 feet of her, for weeks.
I’d rather see Angie being her usual strong self and not a crying weak woman.
I gotta FF through her constant crying/first time I ever FF Angie..

Then Su it shows what little compassion you have for victims who deal with this kind of pain every single day in their lives. Once again, hope you never have a child go through something like this or worse. Because the people around you won’t be able to fast-forward through your constant crying. I’d be so sick of it.

Casandra went through it and she is stronger and than Angie.. Angie hasn’t even gone back to work, her responsibility to run a hospital.. Angie is being portrayed as a weak woman, I dont like that. Angie has been a crying basket case for a month, in every scene with everyone she comes in contact with, that is not the in charge strong Angie I knew for decades.. Casandra is doing better than Angie with dealing with it.. And it is a soap story, nothing more or less, and Angie has become an irrational irritation crying for a month ..… Read more »

I’d hardly call Cass handling it better than Angie is. I still do not see it from your point of view. It’s very disgusting to see it through your eyes. I stand by my earlier comments.

Angie and Jessie are a great super couple and I hope they never split up. Angie is really expressing multiple emotions and I hope she will be up for a Emmy next year. Jessie, you have been great also but Angie is out acting you in the emotional scenes. It seems like in previous scenes on network t.v. that you played a more invested character. Dig deeper, Jessie. You used to be really into your roles. Still love you both and I want each of you to win a Emmy. How great would that be?

All My Children Alum Cornelius Smith Jr. Joins the Cast of Apple TV+ Limited Series, ‘Five Days At Memorial’

Daytime fans remember him fondly as the son of Jesse (Darnell Williams) and Angie Hubbard (Debbi Morgan), Frankie, on All My Children.  And now, actor Cornelius Smith Jr., is set to join a major limited series based on the acclaimed nonfiction book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink, about the the first five days following Hurricane Katrina made landfall entitled Five Days at Memorial.

Written by John Ridley and Carlton Cruse, Smith will play a doctor, (something he is very familiar with playing since Frankie Hubbard was a doctor in Pine Valley!) named Dr. Bryant King, an internist and one of the few doctors of color at the hospital, who finds himself very much in the middle of the crisis.  He will headline the show alongside Vera Farmiga and Adepero Oduye.
