Lamon Archey, Marla Gibbs and Cameron Johnson Make Returns to Days of our Lives

Photo: NBC

Previews for next week’s action on Peacock’s Days of our Lives indicate the return of three members of the Carver/Price family.

On Monday June 19th look for Eli (Lamon Archey), Olivia (Marla Gibbs), and Theo (Cameron Johnson) to arrive in Salem to commemorate Juneteenth day and Abe and Paulina’s wedding anniversary.

During the episode, Chad (Billy Flynn) will help Theo prepare a speech for his dad, while Eli will reunite with his grandmother, Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug Williams (Bill Hayes).

Be on the lookout for Eli to get mixed up in solving what has happened to Abe (James Reynolds), as Eli and Theo to comfort Paulina (Jackée Harry).

Lamon Archey last appeared on DAYS during the Christmas 2022 episodes when he returned to Salem with Eli and Lani’s twins. Cameron Johnson was last seen on DAYS, also back in 2022, and Marla Gibbs has been playing Paulina’s mother, Olivia Price, on and off since 2021.

So, looking forward to seeing Lamon, Cameron and Marla back on DAYS? Comment below.

Yay! I’m always happy when they bring characters back for family events. (Especially, these actors.) It’s just like in real life.

Eli is back that’s great news but he’s a member of the Horton family and Theo us a member of the Carver family and the Dimera family now Stephanie mentioned a man from her past who was in the FBI and that’s Eli I really hope writer RC has AK and LA who play Eli and Stephanie share a scene together plus the time has come for Eli to meet his big brother Scott who returns with a daughter but looking forward to team Steli all the way.

DAYS had come a long way in terms of representation (as in now they actually do it in a significant way. Poor Abe, Lexie & Celeste were tokens for decades). Proud of the show for acknowledging Juneteenth and having more than 2 characters of color who aren’t in constant danger of being let go but in whom they’re truly invested. That’s major!

That said, the show is decades overdue to build up the Carver family. Love Paulina & the Prices but we’ve seen more of them in a few years than we have the Carvers in 40. Not saying it’s one or the other but I’ve been wanting to see more Carvers as longterm contract cast for a very long time. And nothing against Cameron Johnson but his casting as Theo is a bust, esp compared to the fantastic job Kyler Pettis did making him unique & lovable. TPTB obviously aren’t invested in his version for more than guests spots so either bring back KP or find a really good recast to play him full-time. Ditto for his other kids Brandon & Lani. There’s also his never before seen sister Karen, brother Jonah, sis in law Wendy, nephew Jett and my personal fave his mother-in-law Celeste who was a fa-favorite vet for 15 years. She’s a surrogate Dimera, Theo’s grandmother, and has history with just about every Horton, Brady and other vet in Salem. And though not technically a Carver, she’s the type of character who I’m sure will always consider them her family and embrace his other kids as grandchildren.

I’d start by bringing Theo back full-time (KP or a really good recast), bring Celeste back on heavy recurring at least, since fans know & love her & Tanya Boyd, and have Brandon, Jonah & Wendy follow, the latter 2 being great additions to the Carver family in the 90s. And if Sal Stowers doesn’t want to be full-time as Lani I’d be fine with guest appearances or even a recast and at least guest spots for Karen & Jett.

Happy Eli’s back too. I loved the addition of him & Valerie and really wish the show hadn’t fired her or killed off his father. Abe & Paulina are a great couple but I loved him w Valerie the most next to Lexie. I was also hoping the showwould bring back Eli’s father to reconnect w the Hortons & revisit his history w Valerie. Such a wasted opportunity.

It’s always great to see favorites return, even if it’s just for a bit. Also, I LOVE that DAYS celebrates Juneteenth!

Adam Caine Reprises His Role of Edmund Crumb on Days of our Lives

Here’s a welcome blast from the past! Coming up on Days of our Lives, look for the return of Adam Caine who reprises his role as Susan Banks’ beloved former boyfriend and husband, Edmund Crumb.

It has been 25 years since Adam played the role of Edmund, as he was only on the long-running soap opera for four memorable months.

Now, according to the latest Soap Opera Digest, Caine returns at the beginning of October in scenes with Tamara Braun (Ava) and Steve Burton (Harris).  With Ava trying to remember what happened the night Susan (Stacy Haiduk) ‘died’ and her part in it, plus the two being in the run, it shall be interesting just how they try to locate or bump into Mr. Crumb!

Photo: JPI

Previously, DAYS viewers first saw Caine play the whimsical Edmund Crumb alongside Eileen Davidson’s original version of Susan. Together, they created some of the more hilarious romance segments ever on a soap opera. Eventually, Edmund and Susan married in April of 1998.  The couple moved back to Edmund’s home country of England to live and that is the last we have seen of him, that is until now!

So, what do you think will happen when Edmund reappears on Days of our Lives? Will he be reunited with Susan Banks, now played by Stacy Haiduk? Comment below.

Jen Lilley Signs Off at Days of our Lives: “Playing Jeanne Theresa Donovan Off and On for the last 10 Years Has Taught Me So Much About Empathy and Grace”

This week on Days of our Lives, Jen Lilley will wrap her short-term run as Theresa Donovan. Lilley came back to reprise her role to a be a part of the on-screen memorial for Victor Kiriakis, and to honor one of her her all-time favorite scene partners, the late John Aniston.

While Lilley explained in interviews with the press, that she gave the series a 3 to 4 week window of time she would be available to reprise the role, she noted the long-running soap opera wrote more episodes and story for the character; thus the part will be turned over to another actress for the next leg of Theresa’s return story.

Meanwhile, through the years, Lilley came under fire over her run on DAYS being a devout Christian, and taking on the role of the troublemaking Theresa.  She fired back in one interview, “Why should I play a role like this,’ you know? That’s been something I’ve been asked over and over again, by Christians, like,‘How can you be a Christian and play this role?’ And the truth of the matter is that from a human perspective, Theresa’s kind of a horrible person, but from a God perspective, she’s exactly who Christ came and died for.”

With her final episode streaming on Peacock on Friday, September 22nd, Lilley took to her Instagram to share her sentiments on her Salem journey over the years.

Jen shared: “Last week of me exploring this girl’s shenanigans on screen. Playing Jeanne Theresa Donovan off and on for the last 10 years has taught me so much about empathy and grace. I have enjoyed every moment of her hilarious sass and ferocity, layered with brokenness. To the cast and crew at @dayspeacock, I love you forever. You’re my family. And to the best fans a girl could ask or hope for: remember there is no pit so deep you could ever find yourself in where God’s love cannot find you still. You are never beyond redemption. You are called by grace and marked with love. Thank you for supporting me on this decade long journey. #Days #RIPJohnAniston #ripvictorkiriakis #DOOL”

No word yet if in the future, and with Lilley’s busy filming schedule (once the SAG-AFTRA and writers strikes are resolved) for Great American Family movies and other projects, if she would be available to return to DAYS should the show decide to write for the character.

So, are you sad to see Jen exit the canvas as Theresa? Curious just who and how will take over her role? There have been plenty of online rumors that a certain actress currently on the show is taking over the part. Comment below.
