Lindsey Morgan Leaving General Hospital! Actress Announces Her Departure!

Courtesy/ABC
Alexis and Sonny are once against losing their on-screen daughter Kristina, because the actress playing the role, Lindsey Morgan announced on her facebook page today, that she is leaving the ABC soap and the role of Kristina Davis Corinthos!
Morgan posted to her fans: “It is with a heavy heart I have to announce that my time at Port Charles has come to an end. I’m not sure where Kristina is headed next but it was a beyond amazing opportunity to portray her…be part of the Davis Girls… have the Corinthos’ passion and temper run though my veins and to witness history being made on this momentous show! I learned so much and am so grateful for the friendships I’ve made and experiences I’ve had. GH will always have a special place in my heart and I cannot thank y’all enough for tuning in loyally to watch me live my dream. But more importantly, THANK Y’ALL for your endless love, letters, support, encouragement, kind words, even the little hello’s or a sweet smiley face…that love kept me going when I had difficulty navigating through Kristina’s and my own journey this past year. Whenever I felt lost, I never truly felt alone and for that, I am eternally gratefully. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your love. Thank you. Now keep watching GH!! The Nurses’ Ball is mere days away!! All my love and see you on the next adventure, xoxo Lindsey”
So what do you think of the news? Was Morgan’s departure a long time coming? Who do you think would be a good replacement for the role of Kristina, when ABC decides to recast it?

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

Kristen alderson to be the new Kristina?
I feel that would be a miscast. I think Kristen might return as Serena Baldwin, Scottys daughter?
I think KA will be the new Serena Baldwin, actually. Great scenes with Lucy and Scott! This news comes as no surprise really. Good luck to Lindsey. I’m sorry to say that she was doomed. Lexi was so popular and Lindsey just didn’t work as Kristina. I wonder if they will recast or hold off … I would vote to hold off. The character just doesn’t add anything to the canvas right now.
I don’t see the point of recasting either. The character isn’t that pivotal.
I’m sorry to hear Lindsey is departing GH, but I saw the writing on the wall. Her talent’s were mis-used in the role. The writers did not write enough story for her. She could’ve connected more with Michael, but she didn’t. Sad to see talent gone.
ITA they didn’t write to her strengths and wasted her entire time on GH pimping some new character creation of RC’s. It was obvious by her 2nd month that they had no interest in Kristina as a standalone character but rather a prop for Trey, Starr, Konnie, etc.
Kristina should have had more scenes as a sister and college student, or being someone strong. But instead, they made her dumb. The writing team wasted her talent. I could think of millions of storylines for Krissy under Lindsey’s portrayal. Pure and utter shame.
I already read about her departure. She was just starting to grow on me…but im certain she’ll grow as an actress and find work elsewhere. I was hoping Kristina and Johnny( b4 Brandon left) would have a prison romance that ended with Kristina pregnant just to see Sonnys reaction, and how it would play out. For me…that wouldve been something. i wish Lindsey the best.
agree.
That would have been a great storyline!
perfect time to bring back Lexi!!!!!!
Agree
I am not shocked ..
GH is always bring new in and others leave, never a dull moment..
I do like the vets back and the new characters brought in to keep things fresh, new stories with all..
GH is a rolling stone that gathers no moss..
(I wonder if she left or was let go, either way looking forward to the new coming in)
No big loss. I don’t think she ever fit into the role of Christina. Now that the Christina-Trey storyline is done bring back Lexi Ainsworth.
Lexi is on a primetime series, plus Lexi sucked as Kristina. I never bought her as an actress, period.
Lexi was a much better actress but yeah they both pretty much sucked. One had the chops but no sex appeal and the second had sex appeal and zero chops. Next time make sure the actress has both. Geez GH.
I disagree; Lexi was not a better actress. I don’t believe Lexi was nor is that great of an actress. And her in the role of Kristina is too hyped for something that is sub-par. Lindsey has fantastic acting potential.
I thought Lexi was fantastic with the battered girlfriend storyline and when she cried she actually haf tears somthing nu Kristina could never seem to accomplish. She looked ridiculous trying to do emotional scenes and even more ridiculous weilding that baseball bat at Connie. I think she’s a horrific actress, Which is why they let her go. I remember a really pivitol scene with Lexi and Nancy Grahn when they were sitting at the dining room table crying, mascara running all over the place and compare that to nu kristina tied to a chair being held hostage and couldn’t even sell that she was scared.
Saw the writing on the wall here but I wonder why they didn’t just have Kristina & Trey go off together. No big whoop though really… I never liked that storyline until Trey died.
If Lexi Ainsworth can’t return how about just sending Kristina back to college for a few years? the GH canvas is pretty full right now so her abscence would not leave a big void.
Lexi got cast in a tv show.
She got cast in a pilot there’s a difference. Pilot may or may not be picked up.
I thought she looked too old at first (to play Christina) but she really grew on me. I hated when Trey died, I would rather her have gone to L.A. with him & been happy. She is so gorgeous & could totally belong to Alexis & Sonny. I don’t want her to go but they don’t need to recast either. There are PLENTY of characters right now. The second Christina was the most adorable one-anyone remember her?
I agree w you. She definitely looks like a davis/corinthos child. I wish they had written her a more interesting storyline. It would have been fun 2 watch her follow in sonny’s footsteps….a real mob princess
Not that I really enjoyed her that much as Kristina but they get rid of her but keep Kristen Alderson! I think they should just let them both go. If KA is not playing Starr then I don’t care if she is on the show. I only liked her as Starr.
She has a contract. They had to give her a new role, and it could not be Starr, obviously. It’s a soap, you have to go with the flow.
That is true Jenny…
What a sweet articulate girl! Best wishes, Lindsey!
I agree, Jared. And she really grew on me. I wish her all the best.
Yep, she’s articulate all right. Y’all having a good time lovin’ on the fake a$$ Kristina? Th-th-that’s all folks!
Best of luck to her, but no they don’t need to recast. GH has way too many non-essential cast members now.
If the timing had been better, Johnny would have escaped from prison and Kristina went with him.
She was never really a good Kristina, came off to hard. I do hope they recast. Kristina could be such a great character. I would love to see the right Kristina in a relationship with Milo.I don’t want KA to play her, I basically want her to play Star, but with a different name & be with Michael.
LOL…in a relationship with MiILO???!! Kristina is written as a brilliant girl…Alexis Davis brilliant. Milo? Not so much…
Very sorry to see her go . . She was a good kristina just never given the scenes to make her shine.Kristina is a pivitol character to the show and needs to be recast
sad to see her go, but what bothers me most is everyone saying that GH canvas is overflowing with to many people… Look at Luke and Lauras wedding in the 80’s the cast was huge and so manay charactors had screen time….GH’s cast is nothing like it used to be………..visit past shows and read the credits amazing how many people the show employed.
I blame it all on Jason. As soon as SB left the show, the whole mob storyline was dropped and there was nothing left for Joe, Trey and Kristina. If anything, Jason was being propped more than Sabrina.
I wish Lindsey the best of luck. She earned it.
That Story with Joe was boring, pointless and should’ve never happened. Jason had nothing to do with it, the writers lack of vision did.
Not so much. That story was starting to get interesting. Tracy finally had a love interest (of sorts). Trey wasn’t a dirtbag like his father. And Joe had connections to Jerry Jacks.
But it all ended when SB left. And I still don’t know why Bernie was murdered and why Sonny’s assets are in Kristina’s name.
The Joe actor was awful. He sounded like he was whistling through his dentures. He was bad on Passions too. It was such an odd hire
I never warmed up to her in the role. For me, Lexi Ainsworth made such a mark on Kristina that I don’t think Lindsey’s reincarnation was enough or me to forget that and accept her in the role. However, she was pretty talented so I think this is just the beginning for her.
I hope they’ll recast because I do think there is so much more they can do with the Kristina character.
While this actress looked like she was a Corinthos/Cassadine child…she never really worked in the role for me.
I wish they would’ve let her and Trey go off to California or have her go back to college…
I think she definitely grew as an actress while at GH and I wish her well.
Lindsey Morgan should have been cast as Sabrina. The character of Kristina should have been left off-canvas. Lexi Ainsworth is the only Kristina I’d want to see back on GH. That probably won’t happen (which is good for L.A. since she is now moving on to primetime and movies).
If the rumor about Nathan Parsons’ Ethan being in bed with Helena is true, I sure hope Connie Towers is old enough for him.
Epic fail ALL around.
Bring the old Kristina back!
Not surprising. She was terrible as Kristina. This was the worst casting of all time.
Never really cared much for her character…
Keep the role open for a while; maybe they can get Lexie Ainsworth back as Christina. I didn’t dislike Lindsay as Christina, especially after Trey’s death. I’m just not sure what they can do with her character right now with so many vets on the canvas (YAY!!). Now please dump the whole Connie/Kate mess and move on.
I never found Lexi Ainsworth anything special in the role. She didn’t have the soap opera look and yes Kristina was always supposed to be a vixen even back when Lexi first started.
With the heavy makeup Lindsay did look like Alexis and Sonny’s daughter but yeah her acting was horrendous. I totally agree with the person that mentioned her emotional scenes. She looked terrible in any scene that required crying I hated those faces she made like she was trying too hard to make up for the lack of tears. Beautiful girl but she really needs some acting classes. I lijed Lexi but Kristina was annoying when she played the character, that was due to bad writing. If they could find the right actress (for the love of…not KA) Kristina could be a great character, but she needs good storylines. None of that Trey, reality show crap. In the long run I think Kristina not Michael should take over Sonny’s mob buisness. I can see her as a true mob princess if the right actress takes over the role.
That’s a shame that gh can’t ever be happy for this character
