If these two brand new ABC promos don’t do the trick, nothing will!  General Hospital has revealed two of their biggest promos in the history of the show, which teases the long awaited Nurses’ Ball, which promises to be a night of drama, and a night of song and dance!

But while the Nurses’ Ball plays out, so will the exciting story of Luke and Laura on the hunt for their MIA daugther, Lulu and whom does it looks like the duo will cross paths with?  (SPOILER ALERT) Well, if you look at the promo, it’s none other than Helena Cassadine!  Will Dante and Anna get to Lulu on time?  Is this the ultimate Cassadine plan?

General Hospital’s head writer, Ron Carlivati led the charge this morning teasing the new GH 50th anniversary promos by tweeting first, “Our Nurses Have Ball” with a link to the first promo, followed by “When You’re About to Turn 50 …” with a link to the second promo, whose tag line is “Get Ready for a Wild Ride!”

Now after the jump, take a look at the previews of for General Hospital’s 50th, and oh yes, there is some Sonny/Brenda stuff going on too!  Let us know your thoughts,  and what you are looking forward to seeing play out the most, as GH rings in their historic golden anniversary!

Absolutely LOVE what appears to be coming!!! It truly is must see TV!!! Knocking the 50th out of the park GH!!! Just wish the shows were longer!!!

Forgot to say I am looking forward to all of the stories to play out… can’t pick just one… they are all too good!!! It’s a balance of wild, crazy, fun, and emotion packed drama with twists of fun along for the ride!!! Well done!!!

Has anybody thought what this show is going to look like after the Anniversary week and the Nurse’s Ball? Do we just lose all of the past cast and the storylines settle down or does it go on for the whole month of April? Michael do you know anything? Not sure I want spoilers but have you heard is GH celebrating all of April or just the first week around the April 1st Anniversay? Hope they stagger the departures over days, weeks or never…

Thanks for the reply about my April fools day spoof! Sometimes i like to see a little humor in these threads to compenstate for all the rudeness and other negative stuff we sometimes read here. As for what i read from what youve asked…ive heared some vets are staying while some are just here for short story arcs. i did read the actress on her facebook claim she is leaving the show; let go? I hope RC has others good stuff planned after the nurses ball because after that and all the hoopla surrounding the vets return, anything else doesnt seem possible to generate as much publicity. Hopefully, RC will continue to write exciting stories, for the characters who remain, to keep us loyal fans engaged so the ratings will stay up and help keep GH on the air for many more years to come.

Agreed… we need more humor and light hearted posts… this is TV. What actress might have been let go? I trust that RC will have great stories to come just hope they transition people off over time and not all within a week or so.

Do you mean Lindsay/Christina?

I agree Heidi! Yeah, gotta wonder who will be on the show and who will be leaving after the 50th ?? They definitely can’t keep up with this pace of having that many cast members on the show — even though I love seeing past faves!

Thanks and agree!

Yes…i meant kristina…i thought i added her name…but somehow it didnt show up? thanks

‘Im soooooo excited…that i just cant hide it!’ Yes, ive been playing my Pointer Sisters record. And for those fans not coming to the party, the celebration will go on without you!

If i was writing GH ida done a special April 1st episode with mostly Sonny and the mob, the return of the Balkin, and feature Brenda in every scene. The last ten minutes we would see Patrick getting married to Sabrina with little Emma exclaiming ‘Sabrina, your the best mommie ever!’ Then cut to the Drake home Pactric would tell Sabrina he never loved a woman as much as he loves her as he throws pictures of Robin and other mementos of her in a large box marked Goodwill donations. And as Patrick and Sabrina are about to kiss passionately, Robin jumps out of the Goodwill box and along with Patrick and Sabrina yells ‘APRIL FOOLS!’ to the viewing audience! Id b lmao!!!

Again… very imaginative and hilarious!!! That would be a total spoof for Fools Day!!! Thanks for that!

this looks amazing micheal,,thank you for posting

Can not wait, looks like it will be filled with lots of drama, excitement and fun at the same time!!!!

Knew Helena would be back, and I also would not be surprised if somehow Stefan is involved in this storyline with Luke and Laura as well.

I know, I believe so .. he is definitely coming back. It makes the most sense, especially after today’s episode with the guy they caught killing himself. (Sorry for the spoiler alert) — I smell a serious Cassadine curse coming along! Great work RC & FV, GH is unstoppable minus the mess that PP tried with Starr, Todd, & John we will survive!!

Btw this is my first time EVER posting on here, hope you guys take it easy with me 🙂

Welcome EJP!!!! Everyone is entitled to their opinions here, and it is a great way to see things from others perspectives also. We will see soon enough, if we are right about Stefan.

The promos look awesome, it’s so exiting cant wait for the nurses ball.

I am loving this show right now but just saw a very disgusting scene. With the embarrassment of riches the show currently has with its vets, WHY are they wasting airtime on Felix at all, and by extension…Felix‘s crush on Milo???? And why are they using an innocent child to prop this filth up? Little Emma just cheerfully chirped to TJ “No silly, Felix likes boys.“ Then Molly says “maybe he is gay and doesnt know it“ Haley Pullos is a child too. Why is this show using young children to push the gay agenda?? It is disturbing and disgusting! Get that crap off the screen and get back to the heart and soul of the show with characters and couples we care about.

It is not an “agenda,” it is a storyline the message of which, perhaps, might be tolerance. Perhaps you can acquire some. If not, since gays and straights post here, take the hate elsewhere. The world is changing, my dear. A majority of Americans now support gay rights, which rights include loving who one wants to love. GH is only reflecting the changing attitudes of Americans, kind of like, some years ago, when soaps had interracial couples to acknowledge that that taboo had been overcome.

You have a right to your opinion, but to cloak it in hate speech is not the way to express it. Some posters are gay — I’ll bet that many of us here support gay rights — and your venom is not appropriate to this website.

I didnt hear any venom or hate speech in this post. This person was expressing an opinion which is perfectly within his/her rights. You don‘t have to agree with it but to accuse them of hate speech, venom, and intolerance is a bit radical. I happen to agree with him/her on many levels. Mostly though, that the character of Felix is a major waste of precious airtime with all of the awesome veterans back on the canvas. If you can list ONE purpose that the character serves, other than being an effeminate, shallow, token gay driven by lust for hunky men, I would like to hear it.

thanks tristan… i liken it too….

an every day…. “normal” response… in that… it’s how we all should consider, being.

Leave the gay bashing to urself Jovan…and yes, what u wrote is considered gay bashing. Most of those who bash gays are closeted gays themselves…just sayin… Go away.

lil’ Emma… probably shouldn’t have said those things…. as hip and in the know as she is smart.

as for Molly… i think that was fine…

———————–

Jovin… give us ALL a break…. seriously…. GH wasn’t “pandering” to anyone… or ANY thing?

Ashlee ? Honestly… pull that foot/shoe outa you know what…. your mouth. You do what you do so unintelligibly.

I am 50 this year, too. GH has esactly four months one me. I may use for myself the tag line “When you’re about to turn 50, this no time to hold back.”

I have never been so excited about daytime drama in my 40 years of watching. And today Y&R is 40!

And AMC and OLTL are soon back from the dead!

Oh, how I miss my ATWT though.

Congrats to GH on turning 50! What a milestone and the show has never looked so good! I’m so excited for the Nurse’s Ball! Can wait for the tributes to Amy and Jessie! Looking forward to see Lucy in her full ball regalia! Can’t wait to see more from past faves like Anna, Duke, Bobbie, Leslie et al and am thrilled that the Ice Princess storyline will be revisited. Frank and Ron have done a great job bringing the romance and suspense back to GH. Thank you to all involved for an awesome celebration.

Britt’s mother is so vicious & has no feelings or emotions at all! Luke & Laura together
looking for their daughter together! Robin needs to appear at the nurses ball ASAP!
Everything would explode ! The shock on everyone’s faces seeing Robin is alive!
Robert Scorpio knows she is alive but he is still in a coma….

Lindsey Morgan (aka FauxTina) is out!!!! There IS a God!!!

Can’t wait! It’s going to be exciting!!!

Promos look great!! Can’t wait to watch! 🙂

Love Stefan/Laura – SN/GF chemistry is magical. So over L/L & L/S. GF needs to go back to blonde as she looks too old with the darker hair and AG looks so much older then her every time I see them together he looks more like her grandfather more and more. Please save Genie from this mess of recycling the L/L/S triangle that’s older then time itself. Laura needs a real man and he’s Stefan Cassadine, together they can run the Cassadine empire with Nikolas at there side. Now that would have me watching. So sick of it being always about Luke,Laura needs to shine on her own!

Wow!

thank you.

they need to re-write this stuff immediately…. it’s the same ole same old… regurge… if you will….. they’re TOO old… and i mean this in a common sense. Oye! 100% agree about Luke…

this stuff in the hospital… with them making phone calls… ie: Nicholas has been shot… ???? that was poor writing…. and acting…

Stefan, is the answer to Genie Francis’ Laura.

Sexy… dark… electric… would give Laura… a big foundation… for being in Port CHarles…

it can’t be about “Luke and Laura”….

believe you me… i’m happy that these two characters are on GH.

forgot to add… altho… i’ve posted this before.

watching Genie Francis on Y&R as Genevieve… PROVED HER ACTING CHOPS & TALENT.

sorry about the caps some times… it’s just that… imo… they’re already wasting her debut… return.

I have tears just watching these promos 😉 General Hospital is finaly back to its former (pre- Guza and Jill) glory! Thank you Ron and Frank. You are truly my heroes

gh is really old yet it still has no core families who are African american and Latino american and Asian american. gh has obviously failed w/ the aspect of racial diversity. Majority of hollywood tv shows don’t have racially diverse casts and personalities. Yet racially diverse tv shows are successful. A lot of day talk shows w/ only white hosts have been axed like blanderson cooper’s flop day talk show. Yet “the talk” is one of the higher rated day talk shows and it is the most racially diverse. Night soap scandal’s 18-49 demo is only .1 less than idol w/c is still fox’s number 1 show. The spoof real husbands of hollywood’s 18-49 demo makes it the number 1 cable sitcom. The cast of that sitcom is majority black. The ratings of conservative fox news have even quadrupled rachel maddow’s loser ratings on msnbc. Giggles! All msnbc does is create their low rated left wing answer to fox news. One of the highest rated cable news tv shows is “the five” from fox. msnbc creates their answer to “the five” w/ msnbc’s “the cycle” w/c is a flop. Univision telenovela “i’m eva” is higher rated than the tv shows from abc and fox and nbc and cbs that are its direct competition. The Bible is obviously a hit. There would be more tv shows w/ racial diversity and conservative tv shows and religious themed tv shows if hollywood was primarily abt making money. But those tv shows are not the norm for hollywood bec majority of hollywood is hateful towards conservative and religious tv shows. While tolerant hollywood is obviously uncomfortable w/ more racial diversity and prefers lgbt chars who are majority white. Yet there are more African americans and Latin americans and Asian americans compared to lgbt people. That’s hollywood’s kind of tolerance.

Love it.. I watch at 10:00pm on-line so not interrupted and with no commercials to distract/break the drama mood..
the only way to watch to a soap, on-line, and it is only 36 mins or less run to watch, too..

Awesome promos cannot wait for these episodes.

Wow- I didn’t realize that Marcil was coming back. Awesome. This show has NEVER been better.

I think the hoopla will die down after the Nurses Ball, and the vets brought back will slowly dissapoear. Jack Wagner was only contracted for 10 episodes, it seems like it has been more now. I think that Genie might stick around for a while, if they write her stronger. I would like to see her and Connie/Kate work together and handling Crimson. As for Stefan he was the nicier ofr the Cassaines, so he would not be a surprise return. Would love to see Victor return with Thaoo playing him again. We also got a hint about Lucas Jones, maybe he will come to PC and meet Felix, who I like as a friend for Sabrina, and a litte comic reliet.

GH will stay the best soap on tv as it always has been! Happy 50th Anniversary General Hospital

Speaking of Neighbours, the Australian soap opera also received its first ever Daytime Emmy nomination for Daytime Drama Series now that its a revival can be streamed on Amazon Freevee. In the Daytime Drama series categories, CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless each scored 12 nominations more than any other show. Leading the acting nominations was B&B, who landed 7 performers in the various categories, a first in its 37-year history.

The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in television programming honoring work in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary, and legal/courtroom programs. In 2021, NATAS and the Television Academy jointly announced plans to realign the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by content genre, as opposed to program airtime.

The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be produced once again by NATAS and Associated Television International (ATI). Adam Sharp and Lisa Armstrong are executive producers from NATAS, while David McKenzie executive produces from ATI.

Congratulations to all the men and women in front of the camera and behind the scenes for their recognition as we take a look at who will be going for gold come June. Here are the nominees below starting with the Daytime Drama Categories.
