Lisa LoCicero Signs New Contract With General Hospital! Are You Up for an Olivia & Sonny Pairing?

In this week’s Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now it reveals that General Hospital favorite, Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) has signed a new contract with the ABC soap opera. LoCicero joined GH back in 2008.
LoCicero related to SOD about some initial concern about her current negotiations stating, “It was so funny because we were in contract negotiations at the time I got the call saying Olivia was going to get shot and I was like, “Uh, wait a minute … (Laughs). Of course, it has been planned for a long time but I still kept thinking, “Not a good time for a physical misfortune to befall your character (Laughs).”
So with LoCicero staying put in Port Charles and inking a new deal, and clearly the show intimating and moving towards a re-exploration of a romance between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Olivia, especially since they share a child together in Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), the question we pose to you GH fans is, are you up for an Olivia and Sonny pairing? Do you think they should end up together finally after all these years? Clearly, with Connie soon out of the picture, or at least we think so (unless the show recasts), with the upcoming departure of Kelly Sullivan, it paves the way for these two former lovebirds to try to find love and happiness with each other this time around in their lives! What are your thoughts on the matter? Let us know!
OMG NO
More FF for me, that the story of gh these days.
It’s late & I have been drinking. What is FF?
What is FF? If it means fast forward, that describes what I do to about 75% of the show these days.
These “headlines” bite some….. ie: No Connie… More Olivia….
and I get that…. she’s one of my girls’.
it just smarts – that GH and the production team… and that includes writing… couldn’t concieve how powerful a team they had.
it’s so obvious… ie: the lengths production will go to… for the tried and true (?).
Sonny and Carly.
I will say… Olivia is good at wrenching out all the stops and emotion with Dante… and I actually believe that she and Sonny will make a go of it… it’s all just missing something…. Connie.
ie: GH storytelling.
#1. Daniel Edward. – was that telling that Silas is telling Sam to find a bone barrow doner immediately. Franco to the rescue.
#2. Maxie dancing and singing/talking to “her” baby… that ws touching.. and emotional.
#3. Mac and Felicia are getting MARRIED. LOVE this couple.
——
so… for what GH is… I still find snippets of good.
It all depends on his Mob status which is why she did not let Sonny know that he did have a son but then she ate her words and hooked up with Zachara. This storyline should be interesting
definetly want them together, Sonny the mob boss, and his son a cop, how much better can it get?
i have thought that pairing for a while now.would like it.glad she renewed her contract but real sorry about them letting kelly sullivan go.she is wonderful.somebody will grab her up in a hurry.maybe michelle stafford would like to come to general hospital
i’m happy for Olivia…..
and it’s not her doing…
all these happenings… w/no Connie. I think most can tell – Connie – was my new leading lady.
this will all take some getting used to.
No way. Not as a couple. I want Megan ward back
I TOTALLY loved Megan Ward!
Me too Nicole & Gloria, love love Megan Ward only Kate Howard I will watch at all.
yes putsonny an olive together
YES, YES, YES. It is about time-long overdue! I would love to see Sonny & Olivia together. And I have always hated that Sonny & Alexis just had that ONE night-long ago. That was it. And if I remember correctly Sonny & current Carly have only had ONE night together! (in a limo when Michael was in the coma) To me Laura Wright is the best Carly & she & Sonny never got any good love scenes & Alexis only got that one night! I LOVE SONNY!
Bring Megan Ward back. Miss LoCicero is so lovely and would make an excellent pairing for any of the leading men but Sonny. I just don’t like selfish Sonny. I never have. She and Spinelli would make a cute couple crime solving team with her visions and the Jackal’s Internet savvy.
Yeah. I’d be open to it. I love their vibe so far, and there’s Dante between them. They could explore their Bensonhurst history as teens, and stuff.
So, I’m okay with it.
Who didnt see that coming….?
I like Sonny with Kate, or Connie.
OH GAWD — she’s SO frigging annoying with her crazy 10-cup a day caffeinenated personality. I wish she was leaving and Kelly Sullivan was staying.. FFwd worthy is right!!!
I agree.. when she is on screen she gets me worn out watching her hyper fits..
She comes off like a speed freak..
Really, she looks like she is a meth addict character..
She is way way way extreme jittery..
She needs to calm down and be in control of herself
It is hard to watch that character she needs a tranquilizer..
that’s how real new yawkas are, hyper and jittery
It’s about time sonny and Olivia get back together
I have wanted them together since Olivia’s first day
On the show, they have great chemistry together
Thank you! Olivia and Sonny have great chemistry and she can give him the loyalty he truly desires. I thought
we were headed for an all out love triangle before we all heard Megan Ward was leaving but now I think they’ll come together over her death or her death will be the angst between them.
is this the first time on GH… that they’re showing Sonny and Olivia together?
I was wondering that myself since I am fairly new to GH, so recently I read the back story on another web site and yes this will be the first time GH will show the romance. She was involved with Johnny and Steve, but not Sonny, at least not since they were teens– off camera.
No, Sonny and Olivia were together quite a while back. I liked them together but then something happened (I don’t remember to be honest), but I think Olivia left Sonny around the time he shot Dante. Anyone out there with full story, sure would love to hear it!!!!!!
This is 100% against Olivia’s character. If she was open to a life with an ongoing mob boss, she’d have stayed with him back in the day. Connie’s character was a MUCH better match for Sonny’s personality and lifestyle.
Sorry, I don’t see tgw chemistry between those two. It is a shame they are letting Kelly Sullivan go. Now, there is story and a boat load of chemistry!
it was all in the eyes….
the way they looked at each other…..
she beamed… was radiant. what man wouldn’t Love that…
it was equal footing…. and the tenderness they emoted together…. and she would have been great as the in this together two some…. Sonny and Connie worked.
Well I am sucker for the old teenage sweethearts getting back together when they are older and wiser storyline- that is why I was such a fan of Vicky and Jake’s relationship on AW. So I am willing to give these two characters their second chance for romance.
Another World rememberance…
Awww….. Vicky and Jake.
my favorite was Joe and Paulina.
Loved Rachel… (victoria wyndham and Carl)
for soap couples… Another World had it in spades…. Cass and Frankie – The TOP.
Sharlene and John? dag he oozed handsome. and all this is just the tip of what Another World is. like DAYS… NBC epitomized supercouples. can’t forget Cindy and Grant… what everyone idealizes as FUN.
Ahhhh Another World!!! Lila and Cass… Vicky and Ryan…Jake and Paulina jumping im water 🙂 …Lorna!!! …Felicia and Lucas ….Omg guys you got me crying!! How i wish someone would revive this show
you know…. for every soap that’s been on the air….
for me….
#1. ATWT
#2. DAYS
#3 AW
The reason AW has been on my mind is because June 25th was the 14th anniversary of the last episode—-I can’t believe it has been that long— still can see Mac raising the wine glass in the final moment— oh well— just glad NBC didn’t follow through and cancel Days too, which they were about to back then— we wouldn’t be having all the fun stuff we are now enjoying if they did. But as AW Linda Dano said it best back in 99 when she said “My God! If you can get rid of Another World, you can get rid of anything”– and they did.
I loved AW & who remembers Bay City? Santa Barbara? Oh Santa Barbara was SO GOOD. I would love to see that in reruns on Soapnet. I miss all of our soaps that are gone.
The NBC soaps were awesome. That block of Another World, Days, and Santa Barbara rocked!!
Yayness! I have been dying for an Olivia and Sonny pairing. If you weren’t touched by her risking her life to save Sonny then saying she would do anything for him when he asked her why, then I really don’t know what to say. As Sonny said, he won’t forget it, he was clearly deeply moved as well.
Ugh. But better than Sonny with Connie.
I love Lisa…I think she’s adorable…and her character is warm, vivacious and total Brooklyn! LOL…She adds a real touch of “family” to the show with her affection for her son and her loyalty to Connie. I’m very glad she’s staying on.
As for her with Sonny, yes, it’s obvious they were going in that direction but I thought it would be interesting to see how it effects Connie/Kate….would it split up the cousins? Would Connie/Kate break apart agan…seems like they’re missing a good storyline here unless they’re recasting. Which wouldn’t make sense since Kelly’s so good in the role and the three of them are very believable as the Brooklyn 3…
see.. you just hit on the nail… as some other have said as well…
GH could have delved so much further in to Olivia and Connie… I know it’s too late… but… i think livia is a hoot as well…. her Brooklyn past – fiery mammacita… so… it was touching and effective what she has… with Dante and Connie.
like what you said…it’s like GH is dropping the ball again… with so much potential.
Kelly is so good…. glad i can stand on my soap box with some agreeing.
I don’t think there could be a romance while Connie was still in the picture. Olivia loves her cousin too much to go after her man, and I don’t think Sonny would see Olivia in a different light as long as Connie was in the picture. After the two have been together they could have Connie come back and then explored all that stuff you mentioned, but not during the “falling in love” phase of the relationship. My guess is Connie will see Olivia likes Sonny and she will leave town to give Olivia her shot with Sonny after all these years.
No
They are running of women for Sonny and now they need to recycle the old ones..
They are a terrible couple..
The only way the character Olivia would be watchable would be if she never spoke ..
She needs to find some class, be more dignified, look more intelligent, and be calm and in control..
Now she is hyper dinngy ding character ……………..
I love the idea of them together, and have since Dante came on the show. He needs one woman in his life, that isn’t entirely crazy (the LSD induced hallucinations aren’t here fault. LOL).
LOL… Livia certainly had a lot to deal with going on around her.
her LSD played out… and it’s still GOOD.
what with Connie’s alternate personality.
what with Steve’s mom… Heather wacko’ed out.
she’s had a lot of kooky going on … and she remained herself. I don’t know… I don’t see her in overdrive.
God… the LSD part certainly brought her around… dag! I thought her and Steve were so boring…. thankfully he’s gone… kinda like Daniel and Jenn on DAYs… Daniel could dissapear and I wouldn’t miss a beat.
I love lisa. she is a terrific actress. olivia and sonny belong together.
I think Lisa’s great!!! I think it would be fun to explore the Sonny and Olivia pairing! Go for it!
I love the closeness of the Bensonhurst (*spelling) cousins. They work well together, hate to see Kelly Sullivan leaving.
Love Lisa as Olivia & Love me some Sonny! But would like for the story to be that their love to be a brother-sister love. I see no sexual chem between the two. If they are going to pair Sonny with someone new, then Ava has exactly what Sonny needs in a mate! She obviously can be his new Jason! “With Benefits”
Agree.. they have zero chem..
I can not picture them in hot passion or even a hot kiss, it just is not there..
A terrible couple..
All Sonny’s women end up in a very bad way, poor Olivia, no good comes from being with Sonny..
His new Jason, “with Benefits” LOL Karen- that’s too funny for words. Thanks for the laugh.
I like Ava but i read somewhere where someone said she was going to be killed off…i hope not.
No but lets see there’s…..no nobody.
Ok… Pairing her with Sonny at this point is just out of character for Liv. Connie is like a sister to her and Liv is fiercely loyal. It would be a horrible thing for her to hook up with her cousins ex fiancée!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love “Solivia.” Sonny and Olivia have so much history and a son together. This is the best thing I have heard in a very long time. Sonny and Olivia forever!!!!!!!!!
”’Solivia”’ ?
Reads like a Kindergartner who hasn’t mastered to speak correctly..
They have names.
Sonny and Olivia would be a terrible couple.
And her being with Sonny can be fatal, a good start to writing her out..
And being single and friends is a good thing too.
Once again I love Solivia!
Now if GH could just “Bust the Britch” once and for all….that would be spectacular.
Dullivia is about as interesting as a can of Chef Boyardee. The arms flail, the mouth flaps, the eyes blink rapidly, and torrents of nonsense pour out of her ever-open mouth. She’s about as sexy as a roll of cookie dough and not quite that bright.
So she’s PERFECT FOR SONNY. Yup, they’ve finally found the perfect pairing. Just think of the time – and brain power – we’ll get to save by FF’d through both of them.
Nothin says Bensenhurst lovin’ like getting together with the guy who plugged your son in the chest. Now she can wait for him to shoot the grandchild and then she can comfort him about that too.
SHOW is a trainwreck.
One good thing – at least she’s NOT Franko or Kiki.
I LOVE your post!!
If the fans want Olivia to meet a violent death in a mob shoot out or explosion, they should root for her to be with Sonny. Get Sonny Off the show already! Give us back our General Hospital!
I have been a long time viewer and was super excited that FV and RC were coming over to GH. In the beginning they rocked the show and turned it into something awesome to watch. All of the momentum and buildup to the 50th was well worth the return of the vets. Now certain characters have been further tarnished, banished, or written into a corner.
The show has lost all momentum from the 50th anniversary and shows no signs of improving. Every time a story gets interesting it gets sidetracked. There is no romance because no one has chemistry. Carly and Franco have potential because RH and LW had the potential as Todd and Carly. I have always been interested in an Olivia and Sonny pairing, but was wondering if they were going to go the Ava Jerome route. That would be interesting. Liz doesn’t work with AJ or Nicholas. Sabrina and Patrick are a bore, how many times does Molly have to jump between Rafe and TJ. Mac and Felicia are a joke. Anyone who knows the Frisco and Felicia love story does not buy that she would choose him over Frisco EVER.
I liked Olivia and Sonny together previously on GH, thought they had a lot of chemistry together. I guess the writers didn’t think so and broke them up. I am glad to see them getting back together ….. I feel as a couple they were more real than Connie/Kate and Sonny. So….. I am happy to see them give it another “go” …. until someone else comes along that the writers think has more appeal than Olivia. So let’s bring them on ….. Olivia and Sonny …… HOORAY!!!!!!
I won’t join the bandwagon of Olivia haters here! I am glad she signed back up with GH, but I do not want these two paired. I would LOVE the so called tired Sonny an Carly pairing! If Todd can’t come back, I don’t want her with anyone but Sonny! Olivia deserves an honest man… Someone new!
Great pairing. She accepts Sonny and doesn’ t try to change him like the other women do.
I would love to see Sonny and Olivia together I think they would be great together
YES!!!! I love Sonny and Olivia together. I’ve waited four years for this pairing. They have tons of chemistry. They are my favorite couple.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

Photo: ABC
DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons
IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
General Hospital
‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

Photo: ABC
WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC
Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.
Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera?
