LISTEN TO THE BROADCAST: Soap Nation Live! with Michael Fairman with Co-Host Kimberly McCullough & Guests: Finola Hughes, Brooklyn Rae Silzer, Gina Tognoni, Galen Gering, Minae Noji & Michael Sutton!

Last night on the August edition of Soap Nation Live with Michael Fairman, we welcomed our very special in-studio co-host General Hospital’s Kimberly McCullough (Robin) for a lively, entertaining, and revealing jam-packed broadcast.

The two-hour show kicked-off with Michael chatting with Kimberly about Robin’s return this week to the ABC soap opera and what it means for the relationship of Patrick and Robin and much more!

Next, the first guest of the night, Finola Hughes (Anna) of General Hospital joined Soap Nation Live! where she and Kimberly talked about working with each other, being directors, their favorite Anna and Robin scenes and much more! And then in a surprise call-in to Kimberly, Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma) joined us on the line in the most endearing and cutest moment of the broadcast.  Hearing the Scorpio gals all chatting together was quite the moment!

Later, two-time Daytime Emmy winner Gina Tognoni of The Young and the Restless joined the show for her segment discussing her highly anticipated return to daytime in the coveted role of Phyllis Summers, and what fans can look forward to when she premieres next Monday on the August 11th episode of the CBS soap opera. Gina also had some fun with us with the fact that both she, and former Phyllis Michelle Stafford (now Nina GH) premiered on their new soap homes in comatose states with their characters!

Then in a heartfelt moment, Kimberly’s former on-screen love interest, Michael Sutton (Stone) taped a special message and interview sharing his thoughts on working with Kimberly in the important AIDS storyline as Stone and Robin.  We played it back as a surprise to Kimberly on the air, and you will hear her reaction!

Next, we welcomed Galen Gering (Rafe) of Days of our Lives to Soap Nation Live!  Galen discussed the state of Rafe’s love life where the guy finds himself in a bit of the doghouse after Rafe slept with Kate … while he really seemingly loves Jordan!  In addition, Kimberly asks Galen about all those random shirtless scenes.  Plus we discuss how DAYS tapes so far ahead that they just finished apparently finished taping New Years episodes.

After our Kimberly McCullough/Robin Scorpio Game Show Trivia segment where one lucky fan won tickets to all the GH individual fan events at the upcoming Fall Getaway Orlando event, the broadcast closed when Kimberly welcomed her dear friend Minae Noji (Ex-Kelly, GH and GH: Night Shift) to the show where we bantered about Minae’s role in the motion picture Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles out today, and playing the sex addicted OB/GYN Dr. Kelly Lee!

Listen to the latest episode of Soap Nation Live after the jump! Then let us know what was your favorite part of the broadcast!

We all love Kimberly, the actress….some of us do not like the character (s) portrayed by actors.
Please , let us not confuse or blend reality with fiction. We love our soaps, including the players, otherwise we would not watch or post our likes and dislikes. I am very happy for your positive intake and output. Kudos.

Fun show, thanks. I’m glad Galen is getting to be involved in a storyline where he gets to be a bit naughty, he’s so whiter than white most of the time.

DAYS Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes Pay Tribute to Robert Clary

Days of our Lives beloved Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Doug and Julie Williams), paid tribute to their longtime co-star and dear friend, Robert Clary (Ex-Robert LeClair, DAYS).

On Wednesday, Clary passed away at the age of 96.  On Days of our Lives, Bill Hayes and Robert Clary performed many times together as Doug and Robert when the soap opera had “Doug’s Place” as a nightclub venue for the characters to meet up and have story, while also taking in some music.

Bill and Susan shared their thoughts on Clary’s passing on their Instagram on Thursday; accompanied by some clips of performances by the characters of Doug and Robert.

The Hayes’ expressed: “Our Dear Robert Clary… Like a diamond, Robert was tough enough to survive this world and emerge brilliantly. He was so full of life… so saucy, so sassy, so superb at everything he tried. The energy and optimism that filled his 96 years was amazing to behold.  When he performed with pathos or joy, he always touched our hearts. He was an adoring husband, a firm friend, a trustworthy team player and, in crisis, deeply caring. In childhood, he had experienced humanity’s darkest days- then, as a man, filled the world with light.  His story in two words to remember: choose life. #RobertClary”

Breaking News

Robert Clary, DAYS, Y&R and ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ Favorite, Passes Away at 96

Very sad news to report.  Robert Clary, who became a soap opera fan favorite for his roles as Robert LeClair on Days of our Lives, and Pierre Roulland on The Young and the Restless has died at the age of 96.

Clary, best known to primetime fans for his role as  Cpl. Louis LeBeau, on the comedy series, Hogan Heroes, passed away on Wednesday according to his granddaughter, Kim Wright, who informed the Hollywood Reporter.  Robert was the last surviving member of the iconic cast.

Throughout his daytime career, Clary always sang in his roles and is most remembered as Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) best friend, Robert LeClair.  The two would always perform at “Doug’s Place” in story.  Clary played the role from 1972–1973, 1975–1983, and again from 1986–1987.

During a break from DAYS, Robert went over to Y&R and created the role of Pierre Roulland when the CBS daytime drama first premiered from 1973-1974, and once again sang and acted on the show.  Later in his career, Clary appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in the role of Pierre Jourdan from 1990-1992.

On Clary’s passing, Y&R shared: “The #YR Family sends our condolences to the family and loved ones of Robert Clary known to the Y&R audiences as “Pierre” on our debut episode!”

B&B also honored Robert by posting: The Bell Family & @BandB_CBS re sad to learn of the passing of #RobertClary, who portrayed Pierre Jourdan on @BandB_CBS from 1990-1992. Robert was a talented actor, a kind and courageous man, and a friend to all who knew him.”

Four decades into his career, Robert, who was Jewish, came forward with the fact that was incarcerated for 31 months in an Auschwitz concentrate camp, and tattooed with the identification “A-5714” on his left forearm. He was the only one of his captured family to make it out alive.

Clary was married for 32 years to the late Natalie Cantor, the second daughter of Eddie Cantor. She passed away in 1997.

Share your remembrances of the exceptional Robert Clary via the comment section below. But first, watch Robert talking about working with Bill Hayes on Days of our Lives, and his appearance in Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes Lifetime Achievement Award package at the Daytime Emmys (produced by Michael Fairman).
