Hot on the heels of her Lead Actress Daytime Emmy nomination, and major storyline, Marci Miller (Abigail) has apparently decided to leave the NBC daytime drama series.

Miller, has decided not to renew her contract.

Sources told Daytime Confidential who broke the news that Miller is looking forward to pursuing motion picture and primetime television roles.

Miller’s DAYS castmate, Lamon Archey (Eli) took to Twitter noting the breaking news and tweeted about Miller: “Mark my words!! @MarciMiller will be a HUGE star! Not only does she have the talent, but she puts in the work! Go get em homie.”

Word is that former Abigail, Kate Mansi is on her way back to DAYS to reprise the role.

What do you think of DAYS losing Marci Miller? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

“I’m not surprised”

tortured heart

i’m tortured ; crestfallen

it was a matter of time that came to quick

Marci Miller : “sensation”

that’s not taken lightly ; as soon as she found her footing , the camera followed and spotlighted a new act

she should be featured

the nuance; her delivery ; is breathtaking. Kudos congratulations to this WOMAN

THIS IS A HIT.

smash all record . is she the first woman to land a best leading nomination for only 2 years on ?

TAKEN from @Wiki: “…In June 2016, it was announced that Miller had joined the cast of Days of Our Lives, in the role of Abigail Deveraux, making her first appearance on November 10.”

HIT for @DAYS : for sure… the whole cast is featuring… so at best my front seat is still filled. per the new thread Kate Mansi is returning..

what can you say when one snowballs and DAYS rode to the crest.

APPLAUSE

It took a little bit to warm up to her version of Abigail, but it was clear from the get go that she had the acting chops. I do think it is odd that she is leaving so soon. Don’t most new daytime talent get signed to three years or more? Has it even been two years? Front burner story, leaving out of the blue, seemingly way before her contract comes up for renewal – just curious circumstances. And the news that Kate coming back – but possibly only for a limited time? I’ve been wondering if Billy was half way out the door – what with the introduction of Stefan, and Chad being sidelined for much of this DID story. It just feels like the future of the Dimera clan is uncertain right now.

Damn shame that she’s leaving. Even more of a damn shame that so much of her time was wasted on ReRon’s 666th idiotic DID storyline.

This seems like a role thats either going to often be recast or written out for good…i see Ab being carted off for treatments like Rosemary Forsythe was when she played Laura…will they recast or not after KM brief return to the role i will wait and see!!!

Too bad. Liked her alot.

What the hell? Quite a surprise!

Often after an Emmy nomination a soap actor is motivated to try to spread their wings and try to break into prime time or films– the work load is lighter and the money better– other actors are happy for the steady gig and count themselves bless to have the gig on the soap– to each their own– wish her well

Marci is a star is born mark my words. She reminds me of Julianne Moore. Shes smart to exit to captialize on primetime and movie opportunities. It was a huge surprise she cracked the lead category. One of the youngest actresses ever to do it. Buzz is she has a primetime show on the horizon

Good luck, Marci….may your future endeavors be fruitful.

I hope this goes through the other day I could not post. I am so sad to hear about Marci leaving .I for one liked her a lot better then Kate. She played her roles to perfection .I have nothing against Kate I just like Marci better. However she has to do what is right for her.Good luck Marci whatever you choose to do Hey maybe you should try doing some Lifetime movies I have seen plenty of DAYS stars in them that includes Kate Mansi as well.If you ever decide to come back to days even if it was another character I would welcome you with open arms.God Bless.with love,Carol

If anyone is interested Marci can be found in the horror movie Children of the Corn Runaway Actually she is in two horror movies. That is good for me because I love Marci and horror movies are my favorite. From what I can see she has been a lot of movies.

Most likely do die is Marci’s other horror movie,She has such beautiful eyes. Do you like her better as a blond or dark hair? My friend and I think she looks better in darker hair.Dont get me wrong as a blond she is fine just that the darker hair brings out the color in her more.

So sorry to hear this, you will be missed

I know the reason also why I loved the mental illness story so much except for some of the stupid cracks like we are looneys or nut cases,That is not true it is a chemical imbalance in the brain.I should know I have 5 different mental illness.I think it is good for people to see that having a mental illness is not a joke it is very real.I am lucky I dont have a split personality but mood disorders are bad enough.I can certainly relate to this story line and the way Abby is acting now I can see some of me in her she gets.Upset when she hurts someone which I always worry about that has a loving nature and kind heart.People who do have mental illness tend to be very compassionate towards others,Believe me I have seen it before nobody believes you when you are anxious they think it is all in your head .NOT Anyway I for one liked the story so did my best friend,People should read up on it more before they call us case squirrel bait

Marci also has a beautiful singing voice, I can sing to, it doesnt bother anyone because nobody has left there apts yet lol Actually I have been told by several people that I have a nice voice. Well I do love to sing. To be honest I wasn’t to sure if that was Marci singing or not on Days I had to look it up. She sings like an angel.

I will miss her. She was very good in the part. Never cared much for Mansi and not thrilled about her return.

I will miss her portrayal of Abigail. She was a more mature self confident Abigail. The former actress’ portrayal was too “immature, hopefully she will bring more experience than previously demonstrated

I’ll really miss Marci Miller. I think she was great in her role. I find it very hard to relate to Kate Mansi. At least she could have come back as a blond. What does that do to the story line with Gaby and the black wig. The story line has gotten so complex lately, that I’m probably going to give up the show completely.

‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali

Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.

Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).

Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier).  However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).

Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”

“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.

Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”

In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.

So, looking forward to seeing Franco LoPresti’s debut come Monday? What do you think about the fact that it’s being reported as a limited run? Do you think Dante and Sami have a chance on-screen or off-screen to be a happy couple? What do you really think brings Dante to Salem sans Sami? ‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writers Give Fall 2026 Preview: Marlena and Stefano’s Chess Mystery, The Arrivals of Dante and Sydney, Romance Drama for Sarah and Others

Published

Chad and Belle

As summer comes to a close with Labor Day weekend, the former Days of our Lives co-head writing duo of Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given their annual fall season preview in episodes taped some 10-11 months ago.

As previously reported this past July, Ryan Quan returned to Days of our Lives and is now co-head writing the show with Ford, while Cwikly is now a consultant. The new co-head writing teams stories will not be seen till late spring/early summer 2027.

So for now, the stories pick up from where we left off with Cwikly and Ford promising via TV Insider, “Fall in Salem is full of twists and turns and secrets and surprises. Dots connect in unexpected ways as seemingly unrelated threads converge.”

CHECKMATE?

In one of the top mystery’s, Marlena is still having troubling memories and she will have another one on the Monday, September 7 episode. Meanwhile, her daughter Belle (Martha Madison) has gotten very close to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and as pictured here, the two smooch while in Italy searching for answers to the chess set that Stefano DiMera gifted th the late John Black and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that has some significance.

The head scribes share, “The (chess board) mystery and its fallout are central to the fall stories. Chad and Belle follow the clues to a discovery that changes both of their families, and Salem, forever. Marlena worries that their investigation/the chess set may be a Pandora’s box that has been opened. And she is right…”

Newcomers are also the order of the day for Cwikly and Ford, this fall. We have already seen the debut as Brandon Butler as Mason Whitfield, and next week you can add as previously reported Sydney Malakeh on the Thursday September 1o episode as Sydney DiMera, followed by the the Monday, September 14 arrival of Franco LoPresti as Dante Vitali.

Paula and Jeanne Marie expressed on the incoming Dante, “The arrival of a stranger who will set the whole town on its ear. The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines.” What will Dante be up to? We know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had mentioned in 2025 she got engaged to the man, but that was off-screen.

LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH OR THE ONE YOU WANT?

In the romance department, the triangle between Brady/Sarah/Xander heats up with a very conflicted Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The head writers reveal, “When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) work together to help and protect her. Sarah’s new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love for Xander. Xander risks everything for Sarah.”

In addition look for, “Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoiser) to draw closer as he tries to save the family company and home.”

Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will also be returning at some point this fall and she won’t be alone. Who might she bring with her? And from the looks of the Peacock promo for next week’s DAYS, someone is wearing Stefano’s ring around their finger, but who … and how does it all tie in this fall?

So, what do you think about some of the highlights coming up this fall on Days of our Lives per the series head writers? Does anything float your boat or pique your interest? If so, what? Let us know via the comment section. But first, check out the action next week on DAYS in the promo entitled “Bag of Tricks” below.
