Marcus Coloma Debuts On General Hospital As The New Nikolas Cassadine
If you caught Thursday’s Halloween episode of General Hospital you know that at the end of the episode a man removed his mask and it turned out to be a very much alive Nikolas Cassadine, now played by actor Marcus Coloma.
How did this twist come about? After the Halloween party, Ava (Maura West) headed to her art gallery and is looking at the portrait of Helena Cassadine. It is there she ponders how everyone is so interested in it. When the masked intruder sneaks into the gallery, Ava is ready and has the guy at gunpoint. She had believed Ryan was stalking her. When the intruder removes his mask, he reveals himself to be Nikolas Cassadine!

Now, when GH fans last saw Nikolas it was being played by Nick Stabile who took over for Tyler Christopher upon the Daytime Emmy-winning actor’s exit in 2016. In story, Nikolas took a bullet for Ava after Valentin attempted to shoot her on Cassadine Island, and instead Nikolas went over a balcony to his presumed death.
We also learned on today’s episode that Nikolas appears to have been the one that took Cassandra Price (Jessica Tuck) many months ago!
While this is Coloma’s first daytime soap role, he’s appeared in primetime on series such as: False Profits Point Pleasant, South Beach, Drop Dead Diva and Major Crimes. However, Marcus is best known for his starring role in the Beverly Hills Chihuahua film franchise for Walt Disney Pictures.
So, what did you think of the reveal of the recast Nikolas? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
I’m excited about it. Can’t wait to see this unfold!
I told my friend who it was when he started stalking her it was Nikolas
And you were right!
I didn’t see the episode, but from these photos it looks like Nikolas de-aged at least a decade!
Nope. There’s only 4 years difference between Tyler and Marcus.
But as everyone keeps pointing out, it doesn’t matter how old the actor is, it’s how old the character looks. In this case the character looks significantly younger, which was my point. I guess that’s not very flattering to Tyler Christopher, but there you have it. This actor makes the character look younger!
The actor is 41 no way were they bringing TC back he lives in Indiana now and has some quite public problems nobody wants to deal with problematic actors I suggest everybody give the poor guy a chance I myself as a viewer hope he helps wrap us some storylines and help weed out some of these useless characters who add nothing to the show! One good thing he did not work at OLTL !!!
There should be a OLTL drinking game… every time someone bitches about an actor from their getting a job you take a drink.
The problem isn’t so much about actors getting a job as it is the Executive Producer & Head Writer who killed OLTL bringing their pets onto GH & Days and then favoring them over the actors/characters who have been carrying those shows for years.
If I took a drink for every GH or Days character who had been thrown under the bus to benefit Frank & Ron’s pets, I would be dead from cirrhosis of the liver by now.
And I’m immortal, for Hell’s sake, so that implies a LOT of drinking!!
I actually love watching actors from OLTL very quickly give acting lessons to the long time actors on GH/DOOL who have become too complacent In their roles.
What do you have against actors who worked on OLTL?
I do believe you are right. I am sure Ava will love him. He’s 42 but looks younger, I think, and very handsome.
Nope
It’s about time Nikolas came home!!!
Hasn’t said a word yet and I’m already predicting a big FAIL.
True, it would be tough to be worse than that last pathetic “recast” who was around for about a week. But if you can’t get Tyler Christopher back, leave Nikolas in the Twilight Zone.
(The original recast, Coltin Steven Martinez Scott – which ever of those names he’s going by now – was actually pretty good, but he’s since become a criminal in real life, so he ain’t coming back, obviously.)
That Coltin Scott real-life story is just crazy! I sense your hand in it somewhere, Satan.
Since he has barely said a word, could you withhold judgment a day or two??! Or how about a month? Very excited to have the character back — I’m willing to give him some time. Also, he’s handsome 🙂
Just not a big fan of endless recasts. Particularly when it’s done to prop the producer’s favorite pets (like Ava, in this case) more than anything to do with the actual history of the character before the recast.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they try to tie Drodd to Fake Nik next, since he has to be inserted in absolutely every storyline. And since Whiny Heiny’s ties to the Cassadines were already expanded in the last round of Drew flashbacks, you can bet Valentini will wedge him into the story somehow.
Maura West (Ava) gives a Masters Class in acting in every scene she is in. That is the reason Maura won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series 2015 Daytime Emmy Awards. Nikolas is too important not to be recast. If you don’t like recasts then don’t watch it is as simple as that.
The new Nikolas has not said a single word yet you the amazing Kreskin have decided it is a big fail! You have some sort of magic crystal ball? Wait I know you are psychic -not! Nikolas was always going to recast. Everyone watching GH could have told you that.
Well, if they cannot get Tyler Christopher this guy is the next best thing. I give it up up to casting. This guy even has that same look of angst in his eyes that Tyler did.
It’s not Tyler Christopher playing Nikolas, therefore I have less than zero interest. Seriously, the return of Nikolas Cassadine is something I know a lot of people have been waiting for, and this is what they pull? They recast the role with a D-list actor from such classics as Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Drop Dead Diva. This is embarrassing. Is Frank Valentini actually trying to get GH canceled? I’m disgusted with this show.
Bye, Dan! I too am disappointed that Tyler isn’t returning but the show must go on. I for one loves that Nikolas is back. I hope the new writers make the most of it.
Dear Dan, Just a thought- maybe you should watch another show. Like Tyler, Marcus is a talented working actor. He’s got the chops. Calling him D-list is unfair and uninformed.
why So down on the new Nicholas rumor has it Tyler has some serious problems so they had to look else where….give the new guy a chance geeeez!
If you are this unhappy there is always DOOL, Young and Restless or Bold and Beautiful. Nikolas has been recast. Frank Valentini and others are not interested in getting TC back. There is a reason for that. As for Marcus Coloma, I am going to give him a chance to grow into the role
I can’t say that I am not surprised that that Nikolas has not returned in the form of Tyler Christopher. There was one scene in Thursday episode where we saw the hands/fingers of Nikolas and in that moment I knew it was not Tyler. I am SO FAR okay with the recast of Marcus Coloma, though I he is a tad younger than Tyler. I have a feeling that Marcus Coloma may rock the role of Nikolas like how Jason Thompson is rocking the role of Billy on Y&R. I think and believe the new recast may actually work, but I could be wrong once Halloween episodes pass and we see how Marcus’s portrayal takes off. I know Nick Stabile looks more like Tyler’s age but I will say that Nick Stabile (in his brief portrayal of Nikolas) he and Maura West had amazing chemistry. Let’s see how the chemistry goes with with Maura and Marcus. I don’t really see a reunion between Hayden and Nikolas and Britta is gone. I think the best choice is for Nikolas to reconnect with Ava. I wish Marcus well, he definitely has big shoes to fill. I don’t know his work, but his look… looks good. I can only only make a more detailed and precise opinion in a few weeks time… but I will also say that since GH opted to recast Nikolas, I would prefer a recast Spencer, it’s time to age Spencer a we bit. I am happy GH recast Nikolas, he is such an important character on the canvas and the show recast with Colin Scott and after Tyler left a few years ago, Nick Stabile stepped in, it shows you how necessary the character of Nikolas is on GH, so I look forward to Marcus’s depiction and hope we see Spencer return in the form of the current actor or a new one. And, I’d like to see the Ava pairing with Nikolas re-explored and let’s see if it works. Welcome Marcus Coloma – wishing you well.
I really wanted it to be Tyler. Wait and see how it goes.
I really thought Tyler Christopher was coming back.
Wow, Nikolas got younger! He looks like a young Tyler Christpher. That will make Ava happy as she goes for young guys.
Agreed, Way too young!! Ava likes the young ones but this pairing will look like she’s with her son.
There’s only 4 years difference between Tyler and Marcus.
Ava doesn’t “go for young guys.” Before we met her she was in love with both Franco and Silas, both older than her. In Port Charles, she was with DA Hornsby, also older, and “Kevin”. Both older. Only Griffin and Morgan were younger…Griffin by less than a decade. In contrast, almost all the males have been with much younger women…and back in the day Monica was with Ned, Olivia and Carly with Johnny Z…both about a decade older than him. So, once again Ava gets singled out wrongly.
By the current story, looks like Nicolas is too resentful of Ava for not testifying against Valentin to be with her. Shame…and I hope that changes. She did what most would do, have a once-in-a-lifetime to restore her face. She never stopped caring for Nicolas.
I am happy the character is back. There are obviously issues with Tyler Christopher and the show needs Nicholas. I wish the new actor success in the role and look forward to great storytelling. Can’t wait to see Laura and Nicholas together! The show needs some good Cassadine drama! There are endless possibilities now with Valentin, Nina, Ava and hopefully, Spencer!
not a good choice
Why do you feel this way, Mike? Age? There’s only a four year age difference between Tyler and Marcus. I’m excited to see what Marcus brings to the character and how Jax and Hayden play into all of this.
Yay! I’m glad Nikolas is back! There’s so much exciting story to be told. Can’t wait to see it play out. Hope Marcus is up for the challenge. I thought he looked familiar but don’t know for sure if I’ve seen him on TV or not.
Good God. This show is getting worse and worse.
He’s got to be better than Ramsey and Puke Peter.
Never heard of the dude. I’ll give him a chance. I would have preferred Nick Stabile. This new guy looks like that kid from the Wonder Years!
This recast is so disappointing. I was still holding on to hope that Tyler Christopher would return. Sorry, but he is the only Nikolas I acknowledge.
here’s what I know, the actor now playing Nikolas, is 41yo in real life, Tyler Christopher is 46yo the awesome beautiful Genie Francis is 57yo, so now that we have those numbers, lets get real here, enough w/ the new actor is to young to be Nikolas, he’s not I don’t know how old the character of Nikolas is suppose to be but these are actors playing characters and more often then not the age of the character and the actors are off by 10years, I mean get real people, genie Francis is 57yo and she’s played the mother of an actor who was only 11years younger. and although I don’t have inside scoop of why Tyler Christopher is not w/ GH if you look at the actors history w/ the show its not hard to conclude that there’s a history of Tyler not always being very reliable, he’s left GH several times always under weird circumstances and look how abruptly he left dool. I’m not a fan of recast but sometimes they are necessary and in this case it just needed to happen for storyline sake. I’m willing to give the newby a chance, I mean did anyone see the shower scene, hello! I thought I would see his third leg in there, but no cigar. lol. I just beg gh for more shower scenes from now on.
So agree!!!!
So now we also have confirmation that Jax & Hayden knew that Fake Nik was alive. How exactly did that happen. Nik & Hayden didn’t exactly have an amicable end to their relationship, and there’s been bad blood between Nik & Jax since Spencer was born (and Jax thought he was the daddy for a while). Not exactly the most logical choice for him to choose for allies while he’s apparently hiding out in exile the last few years.
How about his brother, Lucky? Hell, even Luke. True, he & Nik had their ups & downs, but I can’t imagine Luke would refuse to help Laura’s son (who saved Lulu’s life way back when)
And for Hell’s sake do I even want to know why Fake Nik has anything to do with the drug dealing OLTL pet Cassandra whatsherface?
Last but not least, how the HELL does he lie to his kid and let Spencer grow up without a father, thinking Val the Bastard has swindled him out of his inheritance?
Wow Nicholas really had a lot of Botox…he’s about 20 years younger than he should be…seriously they couldn’t find and actor that was age appropriate?
What? The actor is forty one! Nikolas Cassadine would be in his early to mid thirties as he was born in the mid to late 80s.
Nicolas’s age changed several times by the character bio. He is about 41 on the show (same age as the new actor).
Hmmm well, the character of Nicholas was born off screen in the early 80s following Luke and Laura’s on camera wedding in 1981. So if Nicholas is born in, let’s say, 1982, he should be 37. The actor is 41. Tyler was 46. So, actually the actor is much closer to Nicholas’ real age than has previously been portrayed. That always bugged me but Tyler was so good, I let it slide… but happy to have a more age appropriate actor in the role of Laura’s first born son.
The whole drama would who would be Nicholas! We all knew Nicholas was behind the mask! The big question was who would be Nicholas. I am OK with the cast change. I thought the new waa terrible but she is beginning to grow on me
This new Nicolas is very good looking, but not age appropriate for Laura, as she would be only 15 when he was born, but I guess if they got someone any younger, he’d be too young for Ava who apparently likes the younger men. Actually she looked very good with Ryan/Kevin or someone Sonny or Julisn’s age, whom I think make her look younger and more vulnerable. We are silly with all this comparison stuff. It is what it is, like it or not!
Bring original nick back
I’ll give him a chance. So far his scenes with Jax and Hayden have been on point, so that’s a great start.
The real test will come when he has scenes with core actors such as Maura West. Will there be chemistry, will there be that mysterious lust of attraction? We shall see.
The scenes he has with Gene will either make or break him. Will that son and mother bond be felt? Will it feel authentic?
If it wasn’t Tyler, then i would’ve taken Nick Stabile in a heartbeat, this would’ve gave him a fair shot at the role as I was starting to warm up to his portrayal.
Wishing Mr. Coloma good luck! So far, so good!
Maura West has nothing to do with the “core” of this show, and she had nothing to do with Nikolas. I think they had one scene together on an airplane, and then Real Nik was gone and replaced with that half-assed standin who lasted about a week.
How FakeNik relates to Laura & Lulu is important, obviously. And Spencer, of course. And eventually Lucky…. because he’s gotta come back sometime. Hopefully NOT as another lame recast.
If Lucky ever comes back on contract he’ll definitely be a recast. An episode or two…MAYBE JJ would consider it. He’s very into his music and touring…doesn’t seem like he would ever return to a daytime soap unless he was older, stopped touring and needed the salary.
He’s cute BUT too young .for Ava. He looks like her son ! Not happy !!
Is #nunik trying to look older with the facial hair? He looks like a pre-teen experimenting with new facial hair. No thanks. Although, I’ll take him over Mr. Laura Wright any day of the week.
Disappointed. Was expecting someone that at least appeared somewhat similar to the previous actor. Nicolas Cassadine is royalty. Tall, dark handsome and quite manly looking. I’m sorry but the replacement looks much much younger and slimmer. It’s as if they’ve introduced perhaps a younger brother? I was so excited to see character come back and now, I don’t even want to continue watching. This roll was definitely not well casted.
Looks and age aside he doesn’t present as mature as the Nicolas character is and actions seem to be more immature than Nicolas ever was and he definitely would have had more mature actions than this one has even when he was younger.
Yes I am waiting to see Tyler come back he is the best one to play Nikolas

Hayden Panettiere Remembered: ‘Guiding Light’ and More Stars Mourn Her Loss in Wake of Tragic Death

Tributes continue to pour in from the entertainment and soap opera community, and especially from former co-stars of Hayden Panettiere, who died on Sunday at the age of 36.
Panetierre was best-known to soap fans for her roles as as a young Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light and Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live, and as an adult in ABC’s music city primetime soap opera, Nashville where she starred as Juliette Barnes opposite General Hospital alum, Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky, GH and ex-Avery, Nashville).
As previously reported, Panettiere died on Sunday afternoon, August 16 in a home in Greenville, South Carolina. The coroner released an official statement on Monday, which read in part “no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death. The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.” First responders rushed to the scene after a 911 call about a woman who was unresponsive from an overdose and in cardiac arrest.

Now below, check out some of the heartfelt remembrances for the extraordinarily talented, Hayden Panettiere from several of her Guiding Light co-stars and more. Michael Fairman TV will continue to add to the list of tributes throughout the next few days as they become available, as well as keep you updated on any further developments in Panettiere’s death.
Beth Chamberlin (Beth Raines, GL): “Hayden played my daughter for 3 years. She was the most brilliant child actor I’ve ever seen. The things she could do, the way she could remember 20+ pages of dialogue, day after day. Even on days where the director would come out between dress and tape and make huge cuts to the scenes, Hayden, never once forgot a line or missed her blocking. The adults would, but not Hayden. I felt blessed to work with her. And always perfect in her playing of the scene.”
Connie Britton (Rayna James, Nashville): “This was Hayden. Bursting with brilliance, shining so bright. I have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak.
I love you girl. Sleep easy now. 💔”
Tina Sloan (Lillian Raines, GL): “Hayden Panettiere was my granddaughter on Guiding Light. She died at 36 and was such a star.”
Rebecca Budig (ex-Michelle Bauer, GL, now Taylor, B&B): “I remember working alongside her..loved her and her family. She and Beth were spectacular together. So sad for her family and those who knew and loved her.”
Karla Mosley: (Dani Dupree, BTG) “This is awful awful news. Blessings to her soul and all who loved her.”

Bethany Joy Lenz: (ex-Michelle Bauer, GL) “There is nothing that posting pictures on the internet can do. I avoid it usually in moments like this. But Im here with my head in my hands and I don’t know what else to do in aside from praying for her soul, which I have done and will continue. I’m crushed. I knew the wild little blonde. Was she nine? Ten? I was eighteen. She ran through the Screen Gem studio hallways at 222 E44th St. laughing and playing games in between Guiding Light blocking and camera rehearsals. Long, unruly curls trailing behind her. She knew her lines and everyone else’s. Her intelligence was astonishing. She understood scenes and nuance and human struggle like no child I’d ever seen on camera. And she’d sit with you for a great conversation, then giggle and go play. We’d connect on and off over the years, like the cousin in the family reunion who got famous and life moved her away—but I always felt such joy seeing her when we were lucky enough to cross paths. We’d make a pact to talk soon. Lunch. Dinner. Somewhere we could curl up into a corner—but we never quite made it happen. I mostly stayed up to date through mutual friends.”
Lenz continued, “I don’t understand how this is real. Everything seemed to be turning around. She was coming BACK to life, wasn’t she? It’s too young and there’s still so much more life. And her daughter…. Hayden, you are surround by love. I’m sorry for every moment I didn’t reach out or check in. This can’t be real. These are moments of how I knew you, in glimpses over 26 years. I don’t know how to process this. I am praying for you to know the peace of God now and always.”
Brittany Snow: (ex-Daisy Lemay, GL) “I was lucky enough to play your sister for 3 years. I related to you so much in so many ways. Ways that I never even told you. Your talent was remarkable & so was your determination to be a bold, bright shining light. And you were. Always supportive, curious, funny and brave. You will always be remembered undoubtedly for your undeniable strength and spirit 💔.”

Photo: CestenIG
Charles Esten (ex-Deacon Clayborne, Nashville): Patty (Esten’s wife) and I are stunned and saddened at the loss of our dear and beautiful friend Hayden. I will never forget the first time I met her. In a sound stage office in Hollywood, I was finishing up my very first NASHVILLE audition. I had read two Deacon scenes before pulling out my guitar and singing two songs. I said my goodbyes and, hoping I’d done well, went to open the door to leave. Instead of swinging all the way out, the door bumped into somebody. Kinda hard.”
“To my complete surprise, It was Hayden Paniettiere, who – in full Juliette Barnes mode – had been listening with her ear to the door. Instead of looking even a little bit caught, her face instantly bloomed into the most beautiful smile. Eyes twinkling, she clapped her hands and said, “That was so good!!” I can promise you that in that moment, there was nothing in the world I needed to hear more than that. I told her that, along with my HEROES-watching family, I was already a big fan of hers, and that I was grateful for the very kind words. It was her turn to go in, so as I went to leave, I said a jokingly cocky, “See you on the set!”
“I was, of course, many auditions away from landing that incredible role. But when I finally did, and showed up in Nashville to start work, she walked right up to me, pointed in my face, and with that magical grin said, “See you on the set!” From there, we became fast friends, working very hard to play those 2 troubled Nashvillians, but always having fun and laughing a whole lot along the way. She was, of course, extraordinarily talented, infusing her larger-than-life character with all the heart, charisma, humor, whip-smart intelligence, and flat-out magic that were, alongside whatever troubles and pain she carried, a part of her own personal palette. What a great gift it was to act with her, sing with her, and to just be her friend. She was always extremely kind to my family, especially my wife, Patty, who I’m certain she liked even more than me.”
Together, we are heartbroken that she is gone, and praying for her family, and for all those who, like us, will miss and mourn her so dearly. God bless you, Hayden.
Rest In Peace and Light ❤️
Emme Rylan: (ex-Lizzie Spaulding, GL et al.)” So very sad. Rest in peace sweet soul.”
Bryan Craig: (ex-Morgan, GH) posted a text exchange via his Instagram story he had with Panettiere where they laughed about her making fun of his hat. He wrote: “Love you Hayden. Rest in peace Angel.” Craig later added, “Cherish the moments with people you love and care about. As cliche as it sounds. Send that text, get that cup of coffee, tell them you love them and you’re proud of them. You may not get the chance again.”

John Oliver Recaps His ‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘General Hospital’ Soap Opera Experience on ‘Last Week Tonight’

Last Week Tonight host, John Oliver had his soap dreams come true on not one, but two long-running daytime dramas, heralding it his “hot soap summer” on the Sunday night, August 16 edition of his HBO series.
As viewers recall, Oliver’s tour of soap duty began back in March when he made a request and an offer to appear in any daytime drama that would have him with certain conditions, which included: having a ridiculous and over the top character name, a juicy storyline, and a slap.
Both Days of Our Lives and General Hospital came a-calling for Oliver, taking him up on his offer and in short order. Oliver appeared on GH in the role of the head of the WSB named Z on episodes airing July 2-6, and then on DAYS in the role of Salem’s chief water inspector, Devlin St. John, in episodes that streamed the week of August 11.

Photo: ABC
FIRST STOP, PORT CHARLES
On Last Week Tonight, Oliver shared that both soaps delivered, and then launched into a comedic send-up complete with clips from some of his scenes. Starting with General Hospital.
Oliver said, “To General Hospital’s credit, they met all my requirements and more. First, my character got to arrive by a helicopter flanked by a pair of armed goons. And I got to do a dramatic walk during which I bravely shot in the general direction of a guy who was already on the ground. It’s called being an action star, by the way, unless you’re me or Vin Diesel, you really wouldn’t understand. And then in my next scene, I revealed my true identity. (Oliver played the scene where Josslyn wakes up in a hospital bed with Z standing at the side of her bed introducing himself).
He continued, “As for getting slapped, well, they knocked that and me out of the park too, because it turns out that agent’s mother was not happy with me,” explained Oliver, as they cut to the slap of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in the WSB Port Charles bureau office on Z. Oliver screamed, “YES! It has everything! A slap, a dramatic closeup, and me doing a voice so wrong, it is genuinely embarrassing. That was my honest attempt at an American accent. I can’t tell you why it’s southern. I can only tell you I was trying my hardest.”

Photo: ABC
SECOND STOP, SALEM
Then, came John’s wrap-up of his role of Devlin St. John on Days of Our Lives, the town’s chief city water inspector. “It is on Days of Our Lives I appeared in scenes alongside soap legends like Jackée Harry (Paulina) and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie). And the Days of Our Lives team met my demands in a whole different way because instead of being an international spy boss, they wrote me a character a little more my speed.”
Cut to a clip of Oliver introducing himself as Devlin St. John to Rita. He explains, “I’m the only thing standing between this town and a catastrophic plumbing failure. A literal sewage apocalypse. They made me Salem’s Chief City Water Inspector, which let’s be honest, is perfect casting. If you’re going to bottle my essence and sell it as cologne, it would be called ‘Chief City Water Inspector.'”
DEVLIN’S WIG
The late night host also clarified all the reports, that the wig he wore for his DAYS character he actually brought from home. “Now, as for the hair, I agree, it’s absolutely incredible. It’s been reported this past week that it is a wig I brought to set from home. And while it wasn’t technically from home, we did actually provide that wig, and for good reason,” joked Oliver. “I’ve seen myself act. I knew the hair was going have to do 90% of the work. I’ll be honest, I was going for a healthy John Stamos (ex-Blackie, GH) look, but instead, it appears I ended up looking more like Tina from Bob’s Burgers.”

Photo: Corday Productions
“And if you’re wondering whether I got slapped on Days of Our Lives, not only was I slapped by a man wearing elegant silk pajamas (EJ), I also got to slap him, which felt utterly incredible. But wait, I was also stabbed with a syringe and not once, not even twice, but three different times. And if that wasn’t enough, this happened too.” At that point, Oliver played the clip of Rita using the taser on Devlin.
JOHN OLIVER LEAVES DOOR OPEN FOR A SOAP RETURN
The now late night star-turned-soap actor concluded his segment with, “Are you not entertained? Watching that makes me feel the way I assume Matt Damon felt after seeing the first cut of the Odyssey, both proud and impressed that my body could even do that. Which again, you wouldn’t understand. You’re not an action star like I am now. ”
As he ended his recap, Oliver thanked both soaps for playing along, and noting that neither DAYS or GH actually killed him off! Could a John Oliver return happen down the line? Stay tuned.
Watch John detail his soap dreams come to life on General Hospital and then Days of our Lives below.
Now let us know, what did you think of the performances of John Oliver on General Hospital and Days of our Lives? Did you prefer one over the other or enjoy both of his guest arc visits? Could you see Oliver nominated in the Guest Performer category at next year’s Daytime Emmys, even for a 3-episode run on one of the soaps? Let us know in the comment section.

FROM HER EARLY YEARS ON ONE LIFE TO LIVE AND GUIDING LIGHT TO HEROES AND NASHVILLE
Panettiere began her career at a very young age with roles on television and film including her Daytime Emmy-nominated role as the original Lizzie Spaulding, the daughter of Phillip (Grant Aleksander) and Beth Raines (Beth Chamberlin) on CBS’ Guiding Light. It’s a part she played from December 1996 until 2000. Before Guiding Light, Hayden also appeared on ABC’s One Life to Live as Sarah Roberts, the daughter of Cord (John Loprieno) and Tina Lord Roberts (then played by Krista Tesreau) from 1994-1997, and right up until she left to go to Guiding Light.
In primetime, Panettiere is remembered for her roles as Claire Bennet on the hit series Heroes (2006-2010) and as Juliette Barnes on the musical drama Nashville where she starred opposite General Hospital alum, Jonathan Jackson’s (ex-Lucky) role of Avery Barkley. HAYDEN PANETTIERE RELEASED MEMOIR EARLIER IN 2026
Back on May 19, 2026, Hayden released a memoir titled This Is Me: A Reckoning, which talked about her struggles from childhood to adulthood in front of the camera and off including her battles with alcohol and pill addiction, postpartum depression and more.
Sadly, Hayden’s brother Jansen Panettiere (pictured above), died suddenly back in February 2023 from cardiomegaly (enlarged heart) coupled with aortic valve complications. He was only 28 at the time of his death. Hayden told PEOPLE that she would never be able to get over her brother’s death, citing, “No matter how many years go by, I will never get over his loss.”
Panettiere is the mother to one child, her daughter Kaya Klitschko, 11, whom she had in December of 2014 with her ex-fiancé, heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
This is a developing story and Michael Fairman TV will provide updated information and details on the passing of Hayden Panettiere as they become available.
Now below, share your thoughts and prayers to the Panettiere family and your remembrances of Hayden via the comment section below.
