Former soap alum, Marg Helgenberger (Ex-Siobhan Ryan, Ryan’s Hope), has reached a one-year series regular deal that returns her to the CBS ‘CSI’ franchise.

Marg will reprise her role of Catherine Willows from the original series in season two of CSI:Vegas.

As fans of the procedural drama know, Helgenberger was the original female lead opposite William Petersen on CSI  for its first 12 seasons.

In addition, Helgenberger will be seen on a recurring basis on All Rise with its move to OWN, in which she most recently starred on CBS until the network cancelled it.

According to Deadline, because she was quickly booked for the NBC pilot, Getaway, following the All Rise axing, she was unable to join the show full-time.   Meanwhile, she will appear in All Rise‘s first episode on OWN which is currently in production and slated to debut this June.

So, what do you think of Marg returning to the CSI franchise? Comment below.

Congratulations to Marg Helgenberger! I always loved her on CSI, so I am happy she’s reprising the role of Catherine on CSI: Vegas. Good way to try and keep viewers tuning into the new series.

Not surprised. CBS lost Gil and Sarah and their salaries so now they have the cash to bring back Catherine. I loved CSI Vegas and was so pleased how they mixed in the old and new characters. William Peterson has always been the draw for me but I will watch the beginning of season two and look at the direction the show is headed.

I watched CSI, CSI: MIAMI, and CSI: NEW YORK. Then I tuned in to the Vegas reboot last year and was confused, bored, and felt beaten up by the rapid-fire dialogue. Even with the CCs on, I had to rewind constantly. Finally, I gave up. The bright spot: Matt Lauria, the wonderful actor from FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and PARENTHOOD. Unless they slow the banter down, even bringing back terrific Marg won’t help me. Sorry!

I really enjoyed the team of Matt Lauria and Mandeep Dhillon. I would be watching season two for them, but Marg Helgenberger involvement makes it all the better.

Tyra Banks Exiting ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Yesterday, Tyra Banks dropped a bombshell when speaking with a reporter from TMZ, while out for a stroll.

Banks shared that she’s not going to be returning as host of Dancing with the Stars, and has decided to focus on the business and entrepreneurial side of her career, plus producing behind the scenes entertainment projects.

This morning on Friday, Banks confirmed the news to Deadline.

Tyra had joined DTWTS in season 29 when she replaced longtime host, Tom Bergeron. She also became an executive producer of the reality-ballroom dance competition.

Last season, DWTS streamed exclusively on Disney Plus, and was taken off the ABC network.  During the last season, Tyra co-hosted the show with Alfonso Ribeiro, although she still presided over the ballroom competition.

Thus far, there has been no news of the next season of the series, although it’s expected to return.  In addition to Banks, dancer Mark Ballas along with the previously announced departure of dancer Cheryl Burke, leave the show with some shoes to fill.
