If you caught Sunday night’s 95th annual Academy Awards, you saw former All My Children alums, Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo) and Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley) walk the Oscars red carpet along with Ryan Seacrest.

Clearly, the trio was on-hand to not only promote Monday morning’s Live with Kelly and Ryan’s Oscar post-show, but the upcoming hand-off when Seacrest steps away from the show, and Consuelos takes his spot as co-host of ‘Live’ alongside his wife.

During, ABC’s The Red Carpet Live: Countdown to Oscars 95, Seacrest expressed that his upcoming departure is “bittersweet.” While Consuelos revealed his first airdate in the co-hosting chair.

Mark shared: “I am so excited, I start the show on April 17, which is a Monday, and I could not be more honored and excited.”

However, Seacrest and Consuelos made it clear, that Ryan still has a few key weeks to go on ‘Live’ before his final exit.

So, are you looking forward to seeing Ryan leave ‘Live’ and Mark as his replacement? Do you think the husband and wife chemistry between Kelly and Mark will work long-term as co-hosts?  Comment below.

Cancel the show Disney. How is this show still on the air? It has been in constant decline since Regis left.

I don’t watch it and don’t care, but this does seem like the best fit. Mark has hosted with her before. He is pleasant and affable and they have proven chemistry. The revolving door of male hosts was tireseome. Some say Kelly has wanted this all along, and good for her that she now has the clout to make it happen. Say what you want about her … Love her, hate her, or indifferent … No one can say she hasnt done her job every day for the past 22 years with genuine gusto, enthusiasm, and professionalism. She is not… Read more »

Ryan Seacrest Exits ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ as Mark Consuleos Becomes New Co-Host

In a surprise announcement, Ryan Seacrest is stepping down from his gig as co-host of the popular morning talk show, Live with Kelly and Ryan.

He revealed the decision on today’s episode.  With Seacrest departing, it was also announced that Kelly’s husband and former All My Children star as well, Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo) will be joining the show in the co-host spot.

With Consuelos coming on to the series, the show will be renamed, Live with Kelly and Mark.  However, Seacrest shared he would return as a guest co-host from time to time.

Apparently, Seacrest and Ripa knew this day was coming for awhile, including last year, as they had several internal discussions between them.  However, Ryan revealed it was a tough decision to make.  Seacrest had spent much of his time simply commuting from his home base in Los Angeles to New York to host the show.

Ripa shared on Thursday’s show that with her real-life husband, Mark Consuleos, now being her new co-host, that it would be “the nation’s weirdest social experiment.”  But in seriousness, she added, that she felt Mark was the only person capable of holding Seacrest’s torch the way he held it.

After his six years on ‘Live’, Seacrest will still be the co-host for a few more months and plans to return to Los Angeles full-time when the new season of American Idol, in which he hosts, starts its live shows.  ‘Idol’ is about to start its 21st season with the first episode airing this Sunday, February 19th on ABC.

Live with Kelly and Ryan is currently the No. 1 daytime talk show in total viewers and women 25-54.

Watch Ryan’s announcement below.

Now let us know, what do you think of Mark joining Kelly as the new co-host of ‘Live’? Sad to see Ryan go? Comment below,

Kelly Ripa Launches Podcast on SiriusXM

Former All My Children stars Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo) can add launching a podcast to their extensive resume through their production company, Milojo Productions, and Sirius XM.

According to Deadline, Ripa will host Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, where she will have in-depth conversations with celebrity guests. Depending on the subject matter, a specialist or expert could also join the episode to provide insight.

In a statement on her new hosting gig and show, Ripa expressed: “After 23 years of interviewing celebrities, authors, musicians and experts on live TV, the big takeaway is that the most compelling and unfiltered conversations happen off camera. I have dreamed of a platform where I can have these honest talks without all the fuss and filter of a camera. Now SiriusXM has made my dream a reality with a podcast featuring friends, both old and new, discussing a variety of topics we all face in life, while getting deep with some experts’ views and advice along the way. Not another podcast, this is off camera!”

New episodes of Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa will be available every week on Stitcher, the SXM App, and all major podcast listening platforms beginning in March.

Kelly will be quite busy co-hosting the syndicated talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan, in addition to Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.

So, will you check out Kelly’s new podcast? Hope she has some All My Children alum on as guests? Comment below.

Michael B. Jordan Recalls His Acting Start as All My Children’s Reggie in SNL Opening Monologue

Last night, Michael B. Jordan hosted Saturday Night Live.  The Creed star, who is the director of the upcoming Creed III due out in March, took to the stage to deliver his opening monologue, and right off the top he mentioned his beginnings as All My Children’s Reggie.

Jordan portrayed Reggie from 2003-2006 on the ABC soap opera (his character was eventually adopted by Jack Montgomery).

When Michael hit the stage, he shared: “Yesterday, I had a crazy full-circle moment. We pre-shot some videos for the show and when I got to the studio I realized it was the exact same place where I shot one of my first acting roles on the soap opera All My Children.

He then tossed to a clip of his 16-year-old self in which Reggie says, “sometimes the animal in me gets kind of crazy” and then howls life a wolf at the end of the scene. Back to the SNL stage, Jordan said mockingly, “I’m pretty sure I hit puberty mid-howl.”

Jordan ended his monologue by looping it back to his early acting days on AMC, sharing: “I just want to say, I’m so grateful to be standing on this stage. Sometimes, I can take myself a little too seriously but tonight, I’m going to have fun, I’m just going to go for it. And maybe, just maybe let the inner animal get a little crazy.”

Watch Michael’s opening monologue below.  Then let us know, what did you think of the the AMC Reggie clip reference? Do you recall Michael’s days on the ABC daytime drama series? Comment below.
