Mark Hapka set for a return to Days of our Lives!

According to Soaps.com, their sources are reporting the recently axed Mark Hapka (Dr. Nathan Horton) is heading back to Salem!  Seems that the actor who let-go this past January for what the series cited as, “Creative differences and a “writers choice” for Nathan’s “departure” is making some sort of return.

This news comes on the heels of our earlier report that Fransisco San Martin has been fired in the role of Dario Hernandez, who looked to be the new love interest of Melanie Layton, played by Molly Burnett. Is DAYS finally going to see the error of their ways, and reunite Melanie with Nathan?  Let’s hope!  Stay tuned.

I didn’t like the way Nathan was written before but with new writers I think he and Melanie will be great. Mark is a great actor and one heck of a hunk too. I for one am happy he is coming back.

I’m really glad he’s coming back, but not glad he will be paired with the annoying melanie. Ugh!!! Hate her silly voice and acting.

Great news that Mark Hapka is to return to DAYS. It’s about time these writers rectified their mistake in letting go of the character of Nathan before we’d even had a chance to watch his relationship with Melanie develop. Melanie with Dario just wasn’t doing it for me – the guy playing him is a terrible actor – and he doesn’t have one tenth the depth that MH has! Let’s hope this time around we see some more romance between them and a slower pace in terms of relationship development. Remember, these two have been through a life-threatening experience (beating a deadly virus) together and then POW! Nathan was gone. Very messy and ludicrous writing but hopefully this is a thing of the past.

OMG I’m so glad to hear that Mark Hapka is back, I can’t wait to see Melanie and Nathon face to face. I hope they will get back together. Great fantastic news … Good job DOOL in getting him back on the show.
I just love him.

I don’t really like Nathan or the actor. I’d rather they keep some of the actors they have rather than bring Nathan and others back. It’s not the actors–it’s the story.

The latest according to Soaps She Knows, is that Mark Hapka is NOT scheduled to return to Days. It was a false report!

ew not Nathan please! He’s so whiny and pitiful. If anything bring back Dario, he was a wonderful actor, he and Melanie had such great chemistry between them.

I think Dario needs to come back, he and Melanie were perfect for each other!! I say bring them both back and start a real love triangle, but in the end she has to end up with Dario. DOOL just keeps screwing up with their damn cuts. Dario was a great addition and letting him go was a giant mistake. Melanie and Dario had AMAZING chemistry. BRING BACK DARIO!

DAYS Kate Mansi Learns The Ropes Of Directing A Multi-Cam Soap In New DOOL App Series

She has won a Daytime Emmy for her stellar performances as Abigail Deveraux, but now as many know, Kate Mansi has been spreading her wings as a director behind-the-camera.

Mansi follows on the heels of such fan favorite actresses as: Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS), Heather Tom (Katie, B&B), Cady McClain (Dixie and Rosanna Ex-AMC and ATWT) and Kimberly McCullough (Robin, GH) all who have eventually gone on to direct daytime and primetime episodes  of noted and successful series.

In the new DOOL app four-part series, From On-Stage to Behind-The-Scenes with Kate Mansi, the talented young actress learns the rigors and demands of working behind the camera in the fast world of daytime drama from Days of our Lives‘ director (and another Emmy winner) Sonia Blangiardo, who mentors Kate through the process.

The series talks about the current movement of having more female directors getting opportunities and be recognized for their work in film and TV, and the challenges a soap opera director faces every day: from dry block, where they work with the actors, working through their shot lists, and the ensuing problems that can arise in any production on the day to day.  But in soaps, the pressure is really on, because there is not much time to re-shoot things and to get them right.

I’ve put people in prison and been imprisoned. And offscreen, I’ve made friendships that I will have for a lifetime. All the while, I’ve been so fortunate to have the love and support of the greatest fans in the world. I hope you know how thankful I am to have had you at my side.
