Unfortunately, history has shown that television stations (broadcast and cable stations alike) rarely pick up canceled shows because in their mind if a show was canceled by another station, that probably means that the show will also fail on their own station. Prospect Park learned that the hard way when they find out that none of the cable networks wanted to air the soaps even though both soaps had more than 40 years of history. The failure of Passions on Direct TV in 2008 has accentuated even further the cautiousness of cable stations to embark themselves on the soap opera business… Read more »

What’s sad about the OLTL interviews were the fact that they were done before PP decided to scuttle plans after much ballyhoo, and that these poor people didn’t know what was about to hit them.

Second, Michael, can your biceps get any bigger?

Amanda, as far as things go, it won’t be online. PP dumped them along with AMC… unless some miracle happens and a cable network picks them up, they are gone for good, and next will be GH.

Melissa is a sweetheart and I will miss her a bunch! Natalie is one of my favorite female actresses, and it’s sad for us Jolie fans that we never really got to seem them as a happy family for any real length of time!

Thanks Michael for a wonderful interview! I’m so sad right now I can’t even talk any more.

Join us…( today is Saturday, the perfect day to go to the dollar store and get BAR’S of soap) and send them to the ABC studio in NYC. While the new shows have taken over or beloved studio of OLTL and AMC, let them be BOMBARDED with bar’s of soap coming from fans across the United States. (That’s why U make it cheap bar’s of soap, if your sending more than one). PASS THIS ON AND HELP POST IT ON OTHER ON SOAP WEB SITES. Abc sill get the point we R making, and they can use the soap to… Read more »

Luv Melissa! Great interview Michael. I would love to see a Michael Easton and Melissa Archer interview. If anyone can make it happen it would be you Michael!!! But at least Jolie will get their happy ending. But i honestly wont be happy unless they get a wedding because i have waited 6 years for that wedding since John has been in that car accident. I dont think its fair that other couples can have a wedding who dont even have half as much history as Jolie but a couple that has had almost 10 years of history cant get… Read more »

I agree! I have been waiting forever. I saw John when he first came on in 2003 and it was clear to me then that her relationship with Cris was over! We are never going to get the wedding and that hurts. I am missing it too. I’ve been watching since I was a teenager but the only reason I continued to watch it was Jolie!

I am so upset that OLTL is going off! I have so many ‘favorites’ on here. The entire cast is great tho and compliments each other during the scenes. I love being a soap fan because I always felt out of all actresses and actors the soap stars appreciate their fans more and give back to us! Ever since I was little and have been watching, I always dreamed I could go visit the set and meet some of my OLTL family! Now it saddens me to know that I have even less of a chance for that to happen.… Read more »

I have been a fan of OLTL since 1968, and have had many favorite couples. My newest favorite is John and Natalie. I am so glad that they got together before the show ended. Melissa and Michael have explosive chemistry together. Melissa is an amazing actress. I hated Natalie when she first came to town, but Melissa made her a true soap heroine like her “mother” Viki. Besides watching OLTL I am a voracious reader, with my favorite genre being historical and multi-generational romances(of course). When I read them, I imagine Melissa & Michael as the main characters. In fact,… Read more »

Trevor St. John Talks On Becoming Y&R’s Tucker McCall

The Young and the Restless has scored a major get by nabbing Trevor St. John to join the cast of the top-rated soap opera, and just in time for the daytime drama’s 50th anniversary season.

If you caught today’s episode, it was revealed that St. John is indeed playing Tucker McCall, the son of the Grand Dame of Genoa City, Katherine Chancellor (the late Jeanne Cooper). The role of Tucker was last played by Days of our Lives’ Stephen Nichols (Steve ‘Patch’ Johnson) from 2010-2013.  Now with Tucker back in town look for fireworks, relationships renewed, new conspirators, and some major plot twists and shifty business maneuvers including his mysterious relationship with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Let’s not forget, Tucker has a past with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), as well.

Daytime audiences know it has been a decade since Trevor appeared on the network soaps following his memorable performances and star-turn as Todd Manning/Victor Lord Jr. on One Life to Live.  St. John actually debuted in Llanview back in 2003 as “Walker Laurence”, and closed out the ABC version of One Life appearing in the final scene in 2012; when it was revealed that Victor Lord Jr. was very much alive and was being held captive by Allison Perkins.

Later in 2013, Trevor appeared for a short-run on Prospect Park’s reboot of the series.  Since that time, the talented actors has appeared in numerous films and TV series including the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico and Containment.

Michael Fairman TV connected with St. John to get his thoughts on: his new digs in Genoa City, what he thinks of his new role and co-stars thus far, and much more.  Here’s what TSJ had to say below.

Photo: JPI

It has now been officially confirmed and revealed on Monday’s airshow, that you are indeed playing Tucker McCall. When Y&R approached you about the role, what did they tell you about the character? Did you do any Google, or You Tube research to connect the dots to any of his past relationships?

TREVOR: The only info they gave me was a broad overview of the relationships Tucker has with the other characters and their history. I didn’t do any research on my own. I’m learning on the job!

How do you view Tucker at this juncture, and from what you’ve been given to play so far in the scripts?

TREVOR: You know, it’s strange, I prefer to never draw any conclusion about a character – my view of him – because the second I do, I’ve limited him/myself, if that makes any sense. I never want to put any unnecessary limits on myself.

Photo: JPI

What has it been like for you working with the likes of: Eileen Davidson (Ashley), Susan Walters (Diane) and Bryton James (Devon? Had you crossed paths with any of them previously in your career?

TREVOR: I had not crossed paths with any of them prior to this point. However, I’m enjoying working with each one immensely. Not only are they open and talented actors, they’re good people.

Photo: JPI

Do you think Tucker will have a difficult time reconnecting with his son, Devon?

TREVOR: Since Tucker has been away from Genoa City, it’s safe to say he has a lot of ground to cover when it comes to re-establishing relationships, most importantly with his son, Devon.  We will also see Tucker form some new alliances as well.

How was it meeting and working with Y&R icon Eric Braeden (Victor) for the first time?

TREVOR: Eric was great. He’s strikes me as a man who knows exactly who he is and has no qualms about it. That’s the kind of person I like to be around – totally genuine and authentically themselves. I hope we get to work together often.

Photo: JPI

You knew Y&R head writer and Co-EP Josh Griffith from previously working with him.  Did that factor in to your decision to take the part of Tucker and come to Y&R?

TREVOR: Yes, I remember liking Josh as a person and his writing, so that gave me confidence I’d be in good hands on Y&R.

Photos: CW

You have appeared in numerous primetime series including Roswell, New Mexico and Containment, plus motion picture roles in The Grief of Others, In the Family, and more.  Do you have a favorite part that you wish you could sink your teeth into again?

TREVOR: I’d love to take another crack at Leo from CONTAINMENT. He was a deeply flawed, confused character, so wouldn’t have to act at all. I could just be myself!

B&B’s Tanner Novlan (Finn) killed your character Jesse Manes in Roswell, New Mexico. Since B&B is across the hall from Y&R, have you yet to run into your ‘killer”?

TREVOR: I have not run into Tanner. Except for that he murdered me, he seemed like a decent chap.

Photo: JPI

Did your good friend, Michael Easton (ex-OLTL, now GH) offer his thoughts on your return to daytime and Y&R? What does he think about your new role at the show?

TREVOR: Michael told me what he had heard about Y&R – that EPs Tony (Morina) and Josh had created a supportive, positive atmosphere and gathered a terrific cast, director roster, writing staff, and crew that fostered creativity. It turns out what he had heard was spot on. It’s a great group of people, top to bottom. I’m fortunate to be a part of it.

Do you and Michael watch each other’s work?

TREVOR: No, we don’t watch each other’s work. I don’t even watch my own work.

Photo: JPI

Finally, what could you preview that Y&R viewers should expect, or look forward to from Tucker in the weeks ahead?

TREVOR:  In general, I think you’d better strap in.

So, looking forward to seeing Trevor ‘s take on the role of Tucker McCall? What do you see Tucker becoming romantically involved with? Share your thoughts and first impressions of Trevor on Y&R in the comment section below.

DAYS Billy Flynn, Greg Rikaart & Mary Beth Evans Talk On: Abigail’s Murderer Revealed, Orpheus’ Poisonous Plot & the Move to Peacock

September had been a pivotal month for Days of our Lives.  After nearly 57-years on broadcast television, the long-running soap opera shifted from NBC to exclusively streaming on Peacock.  While fans have been adjusting and wrapping their heads around the change, the stories of the characters you love to love, or love to hate, are continuing to play out in Salem.

This week, after months of a whodunit and who is to blame for the death of Chad’s wife, Abigail DiMera, DAYS fans finally learned that the actual killer was none other than Clyde Weston (James Read).  Meanwhile, Kayla has taken ill along with Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Kate (Lauren Koslow), all a part of Orpheus’ (George DelHoyo) longstanding feud with the women and the men in their lives.

Now on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, DAYS stars: Billy Flynn (Chad), Greg Rikaart (Leo) and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) discuss their latest storylines, plus their thoughts on the soaps move on Peacock and its future.

As viewers witnessed on recent episodes, Chad figured out that it was Clyde who murdered Abigail, and went after him with a gun. Chad decided he wanted to hear the entire sordid story of how Clyde killed her.  This led to the showdown scenes at Abigail’s gravesite which included a visit by EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), who saved his brother from Clyde. During this interview, Billy weighs-in on taping the climatic scenes, what it was like to blame multiple characters for months for Abigail’s death, plus what the future holds in store for Chad as he moves on with his life post-Chabby.

Photo: JPI

Greg Rikaart shares his thoughts on if he ever thought Leo would turn out to be Abigail’s murderer since Leo had a revenge plot against those who wronged him. Rikaart also weighs-in on the story where Leo had a relationship with Craig Wesley, his enduring on-screen relationship with Emily O’Brien (Gwen, ex-Jana, Y&R) , plus working with Billy in the limited-series Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, where Chad goes in drag as “Belinda Chinashop” and more.

Mary Beth talks on Kayla’s latest plight; that  being kidnapped by Orpheus along with Marlena and Kate, the good doctor has become very sick while trying to maintain order at University Hospital.  Evans also shares her thoughts on the arrival of Abigail Klein as her on-screen daughter Stephanie, the departure of Marci Miller as Abigail, and more.

Check out our full interview with Billy, Greg and Mary Beth below, and make sure to ‘subscribe’ to the Michael Fairman Channel for more celebrity interviews, music videos, game shows and special event coverage.

Now let us know, what did you think of Clyde being revealed as Abigail’s true killer? What did you think of the confrontation scenes between Billy Flynn and James Read? GH’s Brook Kerr and Tabyana Ali Talk On: Trina’s Trial, Spencer and Rory, And Their On-Screen Mother/Daughter Relationship

Currently, General Hospital fans are awaiting the verdict in Trina’s trial and just what lengths her mother will go to in order to secure her freedom! With the story playing out on-air, Michael Farman chatted in a new virtual interview with the two women central to the story; Brook Kerr (Portia) and Tabyana Ali (Trina).

As viewers know, Trina was set-up by Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), to make it appear that she taped her best friends, Cameron (William Lipton) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) having sex, and then posted the video from her phone, so it went viral.

Photo: ABC

During the conversation for You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, Tabyana and Brook weigh-in on what’s gone down at the trial including; how Spencer Cassadine came forward with an alibi for Trina, plus how Portia may put her medical career at risk if she brings Esme’s partner in crime, Oz, out of his coma to get the evidence they need to point the finger on Esme.

In addition, Tabyana and Brook share their thoughts on the men in Trina’s life: Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse), and how the #Sprina has a life of its own on social media.

Brook also shares dishes on Portia’s romantic relationship with Curtis (Donnell Turner), plus the recent noteworthy scenes between Portia and Stella (Vernee Watson), where GH shed light on a mother’s concern; that racial injustice could factor in to the jury’s decision in Trina’s case.

Tabyana also discusses working alongside GH co-stars, Maura West (Ava) and Carolyn Hennesy (Diane), and what it was like taking over the role of Trina from popular fan favorite, Sydney Mikayla.
