Yes! For those of you who were weighing-in on the blind item via Daytime Confidential this morning, about a certain ginger/red-haired fan favorite beauty formerly of an east coast soap, you need to look no further than Kassie DePaiva’s Twitter account for confirmation of just who it is!
Melissa Archer (Ex-Natalie of One Life to Live) has joined the NBC soap, Days of our Lives! Her former OLTL cast mate Kassie DePaiva (Ex-Blair, One Life, and now Eve DAYS) tweeted a picture of the two of them that said, “Welcome to SALEM! #Days #Oltl GOOD TIMES COMING!” As to what role Melissa has … stay tuned for further information but look for her to debut sometime in the fall!
Archer also tweeted confirmation after word got out on social media this afternoon: “Thank you for all the tremendous responses!! Yes, it’s true & I couldn’t be more thrilled! #DAYS“

When I started watching DAYS, the alleged father was Evan Whiland (spelling?) and he was already off canvas. A few years later, Neil Curtis was revealed to be the father because he hated Evan. So, maybe Sarah’s half sister Noelle can turn up to visit, along with Neil and Liz!!!

We sort of think alike, jimh. I had said that it would have been interesting and great fun for GH to have cast Melissa Archer as Nina. I really enjoyed how ME and she interacted as a couple on OLTL.
Gee, I don’t know about that, Laura…..crazy and impulsive sounds more like Bree Williamson/Jessica, who played MA’s twin on OLTL, to me. Now, she was really out there!
But, Laura…if MA as Sami can make Abbi’s life a living nightmare, I will welcome Melissa taking the reins from Ali. I have this unholy desire to see Abbi fall and never get up, or at least take forever to get up…I like Kate, I admire the actress. She has come a long way and is filling her shoes with perfect flair. But, Abbi needs to face the music and the consequence of her actions a bit longer.So, relax everyone. It’s a soap.

Slezak as Laura Horton=Jens mom…Strasser as Linda Anderson or Lee Dumonde…Jerry Ver dorn as Bill Horton…and Ron Raines as Alex Marshall(unless Quinn Reddeker is willing to return) would all be awesome!!!
I love it! Seeing Erika Slezak as the sometimes mentally unbalanced Laura with Jerry Ver dorn as Bill Horton would be great! Though I liked John Martin (ex-Jon Russell on OLTL, Hank Cummings on Sunset Beach, Frederick Hodges on Y&R and most recently Ron Mitchell on Mistresses) in the role of Bill when he returned for Alice Horton’s funeral, too, AND he played opposite Robin Strasser on OLTL…maybe Strasser could be Dr. Kate Winograd, also played on Days by Elaine Princi–in addition to her run as Linda Anderson–(Princi) who also played Dorian on OLTL. I think having 2 Kates on the show might be confusing, but I think Bill had an affair with Kate Winograd, too, which contributed to Laura’s mental collapse…Though having Strasser resurface as the long missing Lee Dumonde (RIP Brenda Benet) would be awesome, too-especially if it gave Doug & Julie a real storyline again after all these years, with Lee still out to get Doug and break up his marriage to Julie! Not to mention Lee & Stefano DiMera sharing scenes!!!

Very happy for Melissa but have to say so disappointed in GH. Melissa Archer and Michael Easton should have been reunited. Michael Easton looks lost on GH. The chemistry between these two is amazing and I truly hope I get to see it again some day!

To be honest, Michelle Stafford looks a bit too old to play Nina. I know, I know, they hired her because she’s fantastic and can play crazy easier than most people can breathe, but she looks too old to be Nathan’s sister and Silas’ wife, who wants to have a baby, and is competing with Sam, who 10 years younger than her… MS is 48, KM is 38… I think Melissa Archer or maybe even Gina Tognoni would have been a better choice for the role, and it would free MS to come back to Y&R.
Good point, Jimmy. But, we must keep in mind that Nina’s child would be in her early twenties had she lived. ( I think it’s Kiki, but that’s beside the point) . So, I think Michelle’s age still works. Besides, she and Nathan are cousins, not siblings, …remember, the great reveal? Lol

I have been watching since the mid-90s and love all things DiMera…..now that Lexie is gone, EJ is on his way out and Kristen’s return is temporary, the Dimera’s need to be beefed up!! this would be a good start!! Uggh and can they PLEASE bring back Peter Blake-DiMera???? Jason Brooks was SO hot, and I know him and Missy had an affair and one stipulation of her coming back in the early 2000s, was that they wouldn’t bring him back, but cmon!!!! Time has passed and the show is for the fans!! Or they could recast him!!!!!

Many viewers were hoping for an Archer and Easton reunion. They sizzle and let’s face it Easton has fizzled on GH since he became Silas Clay. His character is not likeable at all. Not wanting to take away from Melissa’s success just wish GH had not screwed up our OLTL characters’ stories. That was wrong and the unresolved storylines disappointing for fans who supported these characters for years. Wishing her the best

I miss Sheryl too. Lucas is one of my favorite characters, so pairing MA’s character with Lucas would work for me.
Having MA’s character related to Eve & Theresa would be great too. All 3 have the same type of energy and acting skill to work well with each other. I often wondered why we never saw “Cousin Joan”. lol.

I also agree w/the other comments about GH’s loss and wanted to see Easton and Archer reunited. I’m not enjoying Silas on GH, the way he’s written, like he’s a piece of furniture. It’s a toss up for me, glad that MA is going to be on a soap that I enjoy more, but miss the MA & ME chemistry too. Oh well…can’t have it all….1 day….

I congratulate MA in securing work in the dwindling daytime arena. I am not a fan of hers in the sense I didn’t like Natalie on OLTL. I can see her as Suzanne Roger’s daughter, so if she is to play Maggie’s daughter Sarah I would be curious to see. I loved reading the casting ideas of OLTL actors as long standing DOOL characters. ITA with the armchair casting.
I think Sarah Horton is the most logical character for her to play, I could really see her and Suzanne Rogers playing mother and daughter. Melissa is a great actress and it would have been great if GH snapped her up when they rehired the other ex-OLTL stars.
As for the Sami recast comments, I don’t think that’s the road they’re going down. Alison Sweeney is just wrapping up her run on the show, and she said TPTB are leaving the door open for her to return. Plus, if they were bringing back Sami they would probably bring back E.J., so I doubt she will play Sami.

I think she would make a really good Sarah Horton. I used to be a Maggie fan, but not in quite awhile. She would also make a good Melanie. In either case I’m not sure about the age of the characters v. the actress. Either way, I’m one happy soap fan!

I did not know of her previous work. I Googled her and have come to the conclusion that with her stunning ampleness…Michael Muhney does not have a prayer to work at DAYS…if the allegations were true!!
I think Melissa Archer could handle Michael Muhney & his inappropriate behavior. But I hope he doesn’t darken the doorstep of another daytime soap anytime too soon.
I feel I should clarify that statement…Melissa Archer is a mature woman and a seasoned vet. Not just of daytime, but has done movies and commercial work as well. I’m sure she is used to handling that type of boorish behavior and has likely experienced it herself along the way. She’d probably handle it (and him) and still be able to work within that environment if necessary. Not that anyone should EVER have to put up with sexual harassment and/or assault.
You are right that publicly they were really only allegations. I personally believe them to be true, but that’s JMO. That’s why I hope he isn’t back on daytime for a while. Never say never.
Finally, I enjoyed Michael Muhney’s work as an actor on Y&R, and going back as an original fan of the show Veronica Mars. He was very good in that role too. Ultimately his bad behavior cost him that job as well. I DO wish him the best of luck getting himself together. He has issues. He is very talented and apparently has quite a contingent of fans, so I hope he finds success as an actor, but most importantly as a man.
Have not watched DAYS long enough to know past characters and relationships as many of you, but I watched me a goodly amount of OLTL and I applaud this casting news. I like Melissa Archer and yes, Kassie de Paiva surely is an easy fit in Salem.
DAYS is the best for the legacy four. It gives me the family and humanity and community feel the others seem to lack. GH has too much “out-there” plotting for my taste. Y&R is in transition and is missing the class it had. B&B is just so badly written and repetitive.
Yes, I think it is a smart move to incorporate the remnants of the cast of
One Life to Live and All My Children over to DAYS. I have been a Days fan for only 8 or 9 months, and it’s primarily because I need my ‘soap’ fix. So, I’ve been enjoying the cast and enjoy seeing familiar faces from stupid ABC-TV who let two iconic soaps go.

While I am happy for her, I must ask, why the hype about this actress? She does nothing for me, and always found Natalie one of the characters I hated most on OLTL, even when I watched it off-on from 2010-11.

I love this news. Melissa Archer is not only gorgeous and sexy, but she has a great energy and spark as an actress. She also tends to have chemistry with everyone she works with: young, old, men, women. I am definitely excited. I can’t wait to hear what kind of character she’ll be playing.

I love my Jolie so much & I miss them so much Michael Easton & Melissa Archer are absolutely Phenomenal & Golden together. They need to be reunited either on DAYS or GH. PLEASE!!!!!! I heard ME resigned his contract but that could be a short-term contract so he can still go to days. I also heard it was him wanting to exit & go to days. I love ME but the Silas character is a dud & boring & just not cutting it it’s not his fault it’s just not working. He looks lost & unhappy & I also read that the Silas & Ava pairing is a last desperate attempt to figure out what to do with Michael (Easton), who I can’t imagine will last til summer. Also I heard GH is cutting its’ cast by order of ABC brass.. And Silas is likely exiting because Kiki is Franco & Nina’s daughter.

53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced: ‘The Young and the Restless’ Tops With 18, ‘Beyond the Gates’ With 16
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the full list of nominees for the upcoming 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and it was CBS daytime’s The Young and the Restless and broadcast television newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates that racked up the most nominations with 18 and 16, respectively.
The full reveal on Tuesday follows the announcement of several major categories including Lead Actor and Actress on Monday via Extra and Entertainment Tonight and The View today revealing Daytime Drama Series and more.
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys ceremony is set to take place on Friday, October 30 at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.

In a statement, Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS expressed, “We’re proud to honor the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television, As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”

The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of genres, including daytime dramas, talk series, entertainment news, culinary, adventure, instructional and legal/courtroom programming.
This year’s Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Gold & Silver Circle Inductees, and ceremony host will be announced at a later date.

Monday on Entertainment Tonight, the second set of nominations for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced which included the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actress and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
ET followed suit after Extra announced the nominees, as previously reported, in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host.
Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.

THE FIVE LEADING LADIES OF THE SOAPS ARE …
The 2026 Lead Actress nominees are: Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera), Days of Our Lives, Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), Beyond the Gates, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), The Young and the Restless, Heather Tom (Katie Logan), The Bold and the Beautiful, and Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Beyond the Gates.
This marks the first Daytime Emmy nominations for Karla Mosley and Tamara Tunie. In addition, this marks the first-time in her career that Stacy Haiduk had received a Lead Actress nod after two Supporting Actress nominations.
Meanwhile, Michelle Stafford had previously won 3 Emmys – 2 for Lead Actress and 1 for Supporting, but this recognition makes it her 11th overall nomination.
Heather Tom currently is tied for the most all-time Daytime Emmy wins with One Life to Live alum and General Hospital guest star, Erika Slezak. The B&B star has 19 nominations throughout her career.

DAYTIME TALK SERIES
In the Outstanding Daytime Talk Series category, the nominees are: 3rd Hour of Today, The Drew Barrymore Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, Today with Jenna and Friends and The View.
“We’re proud to honor the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television,” NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said in a statement on the nominations. “As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”
The rest of the nominations will be revealed tomorrow on Tuesday July 14 starting on The View and then the full list of nominees in both the main and creative arts will be released by NATAS. The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are slated for October 30th in Hollywood, California.

It’s Daytime Emmy nomination week, and as previously reported things kick-off on Monday, July 13 when Entertainment Tonight (7pm ET) will announce the nominees for Lead Actress category and Daytime Talk Series for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards. In addition on Monday, Extra (7pm ET) will reveal the nominees for Lead Actor and Daytime Talk Host.
On Tuesday, The View (11am ET) starts things off with their announcement of Daytime Drama, Entertainment News program and Outstanding Daytime Personality-Daily. That is followed by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) full reveal of all the categories beginning at 12noon ET/9am PT on their website and their official social handles on X and Instagram.
Then, Tuesday night at 8pm ET/5pm PT join Michael Fairman as he hosts his 12th annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Special 2026 live on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel where he will chat with some of the just announced nominees as we celebrate the hard work of the men and women in front of the camera who will be going for gold.
WHEN ARE THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
This year, the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out on October 30 in ceremonies in Hollywood, California (Venue yet to be revealed). At that time, as like last year, both the major categories and creative arts will be presented. There is no word yet on a broadcast partner for the annual celebration of daytime programming, or if it will soley be streamed on NATAS’ watch.theemmys.tv and various apps and platforms.
