She’s baaaaack!  As previously reported, General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini revealed that this fall several male and female villains will be returning to the ABC soap opera, leading to much speculation that perhaps one of the lady baddies was going to be loony tunes Heather Webber!

And as it turns out …. that is the case …  as GH long time fan favorite Robin Mattson (Heather) revealed on her facebook that she is indeed returning for another round of causing chaos in Port Charles! Mattson posted: “Heather is returning to GH soon!”

So what will happen this time?  Will Heather be mixed up with son Franco (Roger Howarth)?  Will she help him seek revenge on Sonny (Maurice Benard) for sleeping with Carly (Laura Wright)?  Will she get mixed back up with Fluke/Luke (Tony Geary)?   When we last saw Heather, she was going for a stay behind bars!

Share your thoughts on Robin as Heather returning to GH one mo’ time below!

I love robin but so tired of heather

Yes. What a great actress Robin is, and Heather over the years was such a complex character. This regime has absolutely ruined her, turned her into a total joke. The term villain is so overused on GH because everything is black and white and it is one big, campy cartoon. Now Heather is just one more victim of extraordinarily unsophisticated, immature, thin writing that is played for laughs, but isn’t funny.

A great actress like Robin needs great material to exhibit her fine talents and used to have that at GH. Now Heather is just a silly mess, as GH is just that, a silly mess. I really wonder what all these fine actors, actors who previously worked on GH when it was in the hands of truly talented writers and producers, think of this show currently. They know what it is. They know what it has become. It’s all very sad.

I love Robin also. Maybe she has had an exorcism or brain surgery ,just like Franco, and voila’, a brand new Heather. …no more craziness ….the devil/tumor made her do it.

GH50…I agree!!!!! Yes. IMO, Robin Mattson has ALWAYS BEEN such a wonderful actress!!!!! But, in the current sense, those current GH writers have written RM’s character of Heather Webber into such a CONTRIVED CORNER…YIKES!!!!! Bottom Line Here: Robin Mattson deserves W-A-Y BETTER MATERIAL…ASAP!!!!!!!

Of course I agree with you, GH50.
For a villain to be scary they have to have a degree of realism in them–you have to believe this person could really be out there interacting with others while repressing their insane and dark thoughts.
Fatal Attraction’s Alex Forrester ceased being scary when she leaped out of the bathtub brandishing a knife and became Freddy Kruger. As you state, Heather became ridiculous and once that happens the fear factor is erased.
I do not blame Robin, I blame the writing. Once upon a time I loved this character and found her fascinating and frightening and it was her vulnerability which triggered those reactions.

What a surprise GH50 is upset about something at GH AGAIN! I enjoy Robin Mattsona and she portrays her character greatly. I’d imagine since the real Luke is locked up the same place as her that it will probably have something to do with that. So glad that Robin Mattson will be back on screen. For those complaining I hope you complained when she was on back in the early 2000’s and trying to marry Edward because thats when she became the character she is. My advice to those unhappy about her return you have a remote control I am sure you can find something else to watch

Chris, it’s not surprising that I don’t like something about the show and it’s certainly not surprising that what I am once again commenting on here is the writing. I love Robin and loved Heather, but the awful writing has ruined her as it has everything on GH. If one’s position is that the writing on the show is terrible, then it would be hard to like anything about the show because everything stems from the writing. Add very poor pacing, dialogue, continuity (all writing related) as well as poor production/direction and GH is a mess these days and has no redeeming qualities for me.

As for your advice to not watch, I think you fail to understand some things. One, keeping up with GH isn’t really very time consuming and doesn’t take much effort. You really don’t need to concentrate much and usually, people are doing other things while it’s on, so it doesn’t interfere with one’s life and really no need to put anything else on for that hour because it may not be an hour completely devoted to watching TV or any entertainment .I have it on in the background when I’m in my office and when I’m not, I miss it and these days have no interest in catching up online and would not waste my DVR space with it or my time in the evening.

And for me personally, GH is so bad, that I actually get a kick out of it. I would prefer that a show I have mostly loved for 30 years were better, but in its current state, I am amazed that a group of such terrible writers, producers and directors are in charge of a network show. I also enjoy a lot of the people out there who share my view and tweet during the show and after.

So you can invite people to tune out, but I think you miss the point of why some of us are still tuning in. I also keep up hope that it might get better. It doesn’t seem possible with the group currently in charge but you never know. You see I don’t have to tune out and I am allowed to hope for better and to even think that maybe my voice and the voice of others who are dissatisfied might be heard and some of our suggestions may be taken by those at ABC who monitor social media. The ratings aren’t that good, there’s always room for improvement and I think a lot of what I and others point out about the shows problems certainly have merit.

hope its very short term, she’s just too much of the same thing all the time, nothing changes, and its played out way too long and very redundant.

I think she is back for the Fluke storyline…hope she isnt so psycho this time around…

Yes, Harry…these were wishful spoilers…some good, some?…it was my way of showing they could write for Monica too…the original was twice as long with more detail and story but i heavily editted it…a few mistakes remain…i just wanted to write how id like some of the story turn out…all harmless fun!!!

As usual, I enjoyed reading your post, jimh…yes, all of it. Don’t you feel much lighter on your feet after getting all that off your chest?…lol

I really love Robin but looneytunes Heather has outstayed her welcome on GH. Either cure her or drop her!

A little Heather goes a long way… I vote for electro shock therapy and viola! you can write newer/better material for her!

I figure she’ll find the real luke in her current residence.

whoopie!!
Robin Mattson (Heather) is a dark yet fun character..
We have not seen her fully interact in a story with Franco and Scotty…
I am looking forward to see how Heather will be written this time .. 🙂

(she is not always the same)

No one plays cray cray like Robin as Heather. So happy to have her back in PC

Please take Nina, Britt & her mom, & Heather to the loony hospital and throw away the key!!!

She must be mixed up with Fluke since her or his goons got real Luke to Miscarviage when he came upon her in the boathouse. Most likely will be a part of that story line and finding out who Fluke is.

Yeah, good thought, Mary. Perhaps she’s the one who is giving Levi his orders, as per Fluke. Is she back because she is meeting with Levi? I really think there is more to the Aztec jewels story.

Looking forward to her return, so excited! 😉

OH those GOOFY writers at GH!! What will they think of next??? HOPEFULLY SOMETHING THAT MAKES SOME DAMNED SENSE…ooops was that all CAPS…so sorry…

CAPS were GOOD for that statement! lol

Love Robin Mattson, she’s one of the best. Always glad to have her back on GH, raising some hell. I just hope they involve her in some different stories this time. Heather trying to kill Carly is played out. Hopefully she gets to work with Tony Geary some more, because those two always have a great chemistry. Would also love to see her and Michelle Stafford share the screen together, and see who can out crazy the other, lol.

I think she’ll be the one to save Luke…I’m thinking she wasn’t aware of the switch, somehow finds out and schemes to get him out. Shouldn’t be too much of a problem since she waltzed in and out of there like a cuckoo clock…ahem. If she can just get his brain cells back to working order should be a done deal!

I’ve proposed the same notion, rebecca1. I think it would be rather awesome if (for once) Heather became a bit of a heroine, particularly after her last dud of a “Carly Caper.” That was the first time I could honestly say that the BLT Queen’s antics just did not thrill me to no end!!! (P.S. Maybe she’ll try to convince RealLuke that they actually are married and spring him from the nuthouse for a riotous roadtrip!)

I want a kick ass Heather Webber…no one messes around with her man or her BLT’s…Heather needs to somehow rescue RealLuke and have Fluke take his place at MisCavige where all kinds of horrible experiments are performed on Fluke and drugs given to him that Fluke ordered to be done with RealLuke…KARMA!…i can see Heather keeping RealLuke in hiding to protect him and nursing him back to health with BLT’s from Kelly’s…lol

Just wanna say..

RC and FV have twitter accounts and email..
They seem to like to the fans opinions..
( when they are not full of hate and being big mouthed bitter bashing crazies .. 😉

RC has every one with a negative reaction to his writing on block and FV keeps his Twitter account on automatic pilot.
Everyday he Tweets,”GH as you know it will never be the same!” And it always is.

I think she wasn’t aware of the switch, somehow finds out and schemes to get him out. Shouldn’t be too much of a problem since she waltzed in and out of there like a cuckoo clock…ahem. If she can just get his brain cells back to working order should be a done deal!

That’s the problem, how on EARTH was Heather able to escape Miscavige time and time again with such ease?! It’s supposed to be maximum security, and yet, she walks in and out as if it’s Kelly’s and she’s ordering a damn BLT!

Thats what i’d like to know too, Jimmy…how did Heather get out of a mental hospital under tight security…when i was in a nut house years ago it was impossible to escape…i had to pretend i was sane before they let me out…and that wasnt very easy for me to do…lol

Well, she could have been friends with the same guard that was holding Luke captive (not knowing that he’s a slime that was also helping Fluke). Maybe somehow she paid him off (oh paleeeez let it not have been with sexual favors).

By him I mean Luke! (kinda forgot to put that in my comment…long night!)

That’s OK…you did mention Luke in the comment at 9:22. As well as the rest of your statement! LOL
It MUST have been a long night!

Hahahahhahaha…

A) It was!

B) But in truth, my computer betrayed me; told me the first time it didn’t “send” so I hit send again. I hang my head in double post shame…

(Doesn’t mean it won’t happen again. Forgive me in advance.)

😉

I, am, so, glad

if they could just get her back to, say: Janet Green, AMC

oh she staggered, fretted, angst up, teetered for all she’s worth… that conundrum… betwixt in the know and nut up… superlatively

just redeem, in the mix, and know … Robin Mattson, will pull, drive, and catapult a whole new arena

I LOVE Heather, can’t wait to see her again 🙂

Thank the soap gods! I know she is over the top but people, she can act! Watch her act! Speaking of acting, how about Levi’s partner in crime, Scribner. He was on the show for like 5 minutes and him lying there gasping for air after he was shot was 10 times better acting than Ryan/James/Tinman! My point, GH has way too many people who cannot act. Lets enjoy Robin!

I agree, if they plan to keep Nathan around as a long-term character, they need to do 2 things – first, pick a name and stick with it. Either Nathan or James, because this back and forth with Nina and Liesl calling him James and everyone else calling him Nathan is annoying. Second, they need to recast the role and hire an actor who can actually act, like maybe Mark Lawson or John-Paul Lavoisier from OLTL? Either way, Ryan Paevey has to go.

Yes. This character has scenes with heavyweights and its annoying to watch him read his lines like he is in a school play! Yes he is handsome but who cares, even women will admit that they want actors who can act. Plus this character is going to be a Cassadine and anyone of the Cassadines, take your pick, are awesome actors. He will fail miserably up against Helena, Victor, Starvos, or Stephan.

Lavoisier is too old to play this role. Protagonist is supposedly in his late twenties, as is Ryan/Nathan.

aww c’mon..
Nathan/Ryan is doing a good job… he is better in some scenes than others..
Not everyone can be a great actor..
ie( Robin/Kim is a bad actor but a good director..
So, Nathan/Ryan is OK too ..
(and a hunk lol ..

So agree with you Timmm. Jamil Walker Smith aka Scribner was part of the TV series “SGU Stargate Universe”…. Also directed and starred in ” The American Dream”. –incredibly gifted actor from Nyawk (NYC)… Yeah !!!

True, dat–Mr. Timm. She is a very good actress. And as Forrest Gump used to say.’That’s all I have to say about that.’

I love the comedic timing and chemistry that Robin has with most actors on the show: Tony Geary, Roger Howarth, Kin Shriner, and Jane Elliot. Robin is a great actress! Love her comedic flair!

NOT happy about this news!!!! her character turned into an annoying cartoon.
GH Has gone downhill lately and now we have to see more Heather???

yawn

There are no cartoons in the soaps…
Heather has been written a few different ways..
She has been written with humor and dark..
I feel this time Heather will again be different..
looking forward to Heather’s return 🙂 and interaction with Franco and Scotty..

No cartoons in this soap?
Evidently you missed the scene where Heather tried to pour Acme cement over the road runner.

That’s what some of us are discussing and would like to see a phenomenon happening……..the emergence of a cured, reborn and conformed Heather. Lol. As Shay suggested; it would be great if Heather were applauded as the heroine and save the day. I, for one, would love to see Robin dressed in full acting regalia as a normal person. Maybe they’ll keep her on a permanent basis. It was done with Dr. O, …so, why not Heather?

I agree with you and Shay…would love to see Heather change for the better and save the day…hope she is the one who rescues Luke and takes Fluke down…maybe she’ll give Fluke a taste of his own medicine…drug Fluke and have him take Lukes place at MisCavige…she’ll keep the real Luke in hiding to protect him and nurse him back to health…no one messes with Heather’s man or her BLTs or they’ll be sorry…lol

I am hoping the fact that heather is so in love with Luke that she HELPS him in some way. What concerns me is that TG is tired of the Luke character and has asked for hi to be killed off last year. I realize this crazy character of Fluke is much more fun to play, but maybe they will find some way to re-energize both Luke and the actor. We have all watched Luke grow to a likeable human being, flawed but likeable. Over the years, he has become a HO HUM …I welcome some changes…he deserves it….TG and Luke that is!

I look forward to her scenes with Franco as well as Nina…. they each have that crazy comedic edge to them that could be dynamic….Imagine Nina meeting Heather…LOL!

usually we can send the “end game” when it comes to the pairings of certain characters…. but right now all these couples seem to be in limbo…..seems as though the writers are testing the chemistry of certain characters….

The big question is what happens if GH gains the rights, once again, to the characters of John McBain, Todd ( I only pray he comes back) , and Starr who really is the same person….?? Todd and Carly were magnificent! Carly and Franco not so much.

Any word on Billy Miller as Jason?

Word is Billy Miller will not be playing Jason, or any other character for that matter. He wants to branch out of soaps and, while he was apparently courted by GH, he isn’t signing a contract as Jason. This is disappointing because I love Billy Miller, he’s a fantastic actor and he is so deeply missed on Y&R. I think he’d make a great Jason.

Also, I agree with you about Carly and Franco, I’m really not feeling it, mostly because Roger Howarth as Franco just doesn’t work for me. It’s really awkward seeing him call Kin Shriner “dad.” When they brought Roger Howarth back, they should have cast him as Jimmy Lee Holt, not Franco.

Carly and Franco worked for about three seconds when he was having his issues with his tumor, having attacks of conscience along with doubts that this amazing woman would be attracted to him, while she felt she could love him into being this great guy. But once they got together and he became this immature, insecure jealous jerk and she didn’t need to “heal” him anymore their chemistry fizzled big time. Let Carly go back to Sonny and let Franco find out he was brainwashed by the real Franco into thinking he Franco and let’s find another character for Roger to play

I love Robin Mattson but Heather’s last visit in Port Charles was a complete joke, she has become the epitome of cartoon villains. I really hope she’s back for the Fluke/Luke story, but seriously, if she’s the same over-the-top-crazy as she was last time, then she’s already overstayed her welcome. I used to love Heather as a villain but the writing for her has becomes so thin and weak, she comes off as a total cartoon and the whole thing becomes a joke. Hopefully that isn’t the case this time.

One thing I would love to see though is some Heather & Liesl scenes, I have no doubt that Kathleen Gati and Robin Mattson would be pure gold together!

Cannot wait for Franco to have a family picnic with Heather and Scott! What I see happening is Heather will discover Luke and Fluke before anyone and try and tell anyone who listens but they will dismiss her discovery because of her craziness. I do hope they lighten up her character a bit and she is ultimately responsible for saving her Lukey Pie!

Whenever Heather comes back, there is such excitement. I have a feeling she is going to find Luke and elude to them he is there. I feel that Anna owes Heather, because Heather tried to tell Anna Robin was alive in Ferncliffe, but Anna refused to believe her. SO I am hoping there is a connection to that this time, with Anna believing her. And yes———Heather was RIGHT that Carly would hurt Franco someday. Free Heather, cure her, have her run Kelly’s and be the center of all things Port Charles, like Ruby, Rose, Bobbie, etc.. If there is ever a time for Heather to make good , it is NOW.

Love Heather. Love Robin. Welcome Home! Glad you could join us.

Love me some crazy ole Heather. Wonder if Steven Lars will return? heh

When Heather returned in 2012, the baby switch storyline with the One Life To Live characters was brilliant, classic soap opera storytelling at it’s best. After that, Heather should have left, because the recent returns have been nothing but foolery. Here’s hoping that they redeem Heather this go around

Wish Heather was back to the 80’s version. Guza ruined her with her obsessed with Luke and a crazy murderer. The 80’s Heather was misunderstood and tried to kill Diana, Susan etc, but in a comedy of errors was unable to achieve. Hoping she will be cured and go back to Scotty and compete with Lucy and mentor Nina!

I agree with mk.The writers need to cut down on the lunacy where Heather’s concerned but keep her as the manipulative, conniving vixen she’s always been.It seems unlikely that she and Scotty would rekindle what they had back in the day.It seems like Scotty has washed his hands of her(unfortunately).

Wonderful actress but horrible character!

You were My favorite Heather back when I watched soaps in the 80’s! So cool now we’re about the same age too long live the famous drama diva! Love ya!)

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
