Melissa Claire Egan Teases Her Return to Y&R: “Chelsea’s Missed You All!! Excited to be Back in Genoa City Soon”

Photo: JPI

Looks like Melissa Claire Egan’s (Chelsea) maternity leave is soon coming to a close and she will be back taping new episodes of The Young and the Restless sooner than later!

Back on August 21, Missy and her husband Matt Katrosar welcomed their son, Caden into the world and since then fans have gotten a glimpse of her life as a new mama via her Instagram posts.

Viewers of Y&R last saw Egan’s Chelsea via video calls, but that will be coming to an end when the often trouble-making Chelsea is back in the mix full force.

At the start of this week, Egan posted on Instagram: “Chelsea’s missed you all!! Excited to be back in Genoa City soon🤗 (sans the mental hospital scrubs, good for baby bump hiding tho!). What do you think is in store for Chelsea when she returns???”

And that’s a great question! What do you think will happen when Chelsea returns on-screen?

Share your thoughts and theories on the imminent return of Melissa Claire Egan to Y&R via the comment section below.

So glad that Chelsea (Melissa) is returning soon, for she is missed. Will be interesting to see how she responds to Sally infiltrating both Adam and Chloe’s lives. And honestly, I wouldn’t mind her reconnecting with Nick, for I cannot stand Nick with the current portrayal of Phyllis. And speaking of Nick, where is Christian???

I am surprised Chelsea has a future in Genoa City. Not sure where we can go here. Chelsea as a character was written into a tight corner. I think it stupid for her to reconnect with Adam. I don’t feel they are a forever couple. She’s been with Nick, but I still hope for him and Sharon to find their way home. Those actors are so good together. I would like to see a stronger Chelsea back in the fashion game, maybe rebuilding herself without a man for a time.

Now that it looks like a possible break-up between Nick and Phyllis. I think you have solved the problem of whom Nick would be with. I think most of us agree that Phyllis and Jack will most likely get back together unless I can’t read the soapy writing on those walls anymore. I was so afraid they would try and push Jack and Leslie Brooks together.

I would also like to see her stronger in the fashion game. If she does in fact join Chloe, it w/b interesting to see how she and Adam interact. I think they are OK as co-parents, although I have been disappointed in how their relationship went given how they were in the past. Her reaction to Adam’s return was a total letdown. I do wonder where she will now live; and since Connor loves being on the ranch how will the custody go?

Not too happy seeing Chelsea back especially working with Chloe and Sally and Chelsea not liking seeing her son anywhere close to Sally, which I would have to agree but then again I think they are trying to redeem or at least soften Sally some, thanks to the wedding dress, which I personally wasn’t crazy about especially those shoulder pads. All I could think of was Dynasty and Lynda Evans.

Sad to say I have not missed her at all. The writing is so sub par I don’t know where she even fits in the return of Chloe and Kevin has been nothing the wedding was a bore and please do not revisit nick and Chelsea

GH’s Avery Pohl on Esme’s Return: “She’s Using Her Time Wisely and Waiting For The Right Moment to Strike”

Next week, Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) is back lurking around Port Charles.  When viewers last saw Esme, she went over the parapet at Wyndemere during a showdown with Ava (Maura West).

For months, GH fans have been eagerly awaiting to see just how and when Esme would return to get revenge, or find out what she is after.  From the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, it looks like the wait is over.

In dishing with SOD on her on-screen return, Pohl shared that Esme is, “essentially on the run.”  However, she adds, “Esme is aware of the circumstances she’s put herself in.  She is aware that people are going to to be after her.  She’s not dumb.”

Just what’s in store for Nikolas (Marcus Coloma), Ava, Trina (Tabyana Ali), Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) now that Esme is back?

As Esme’s plan begins to reveal itself, Pohl shares: “Before she goes right back into the thick of it, she scopes things out.  She’s using her time wisely and waiting for the right moment to strike.”

So, are you glad that finally Avery Pohl is back on GH as Esme? What do you hope happens next? Who do you think is Esme’s biological mother? Do you want her to get her comeuppance from the Cassadine clan and Trina? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Mishael Morgan Reveals Why She’s Taken ‘A Bit of a Step Back’ From Y&R and Gone on Recurring Status

This past June, we all celebrated the groundbreaking victory of The Young and the Restless‘ Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair) as the first Black actress to ever win in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category during the 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

In the months that followed, Mishael has not been seen as much on the top-rated CBS daytime drama, plus when fans noticed she was no longer in the opening main credits, it got them wondering just what is Morgan’s status with the show.

Finally today, via video on her Instagram story, Mishael shared some news after finishing her day of taping in Genoa City.

The Emmy-winner revealed she has indeed gone on recurring status with the show: “I just wrapped my last scenes back at Y&R, and I just wanted to let the cat out of the bag a little bit.  A lot of people have noticed that my name is not on the main credits anymore, and I wanted everybody to know that it was my decision.  I decided, actually, back in December, that I wanted to take a bit of a step back from the show.  I just felt like at this point in my life and this point in my career, I wanted to mix things up a little bit. But Y&R will always be home. I have so appreciated this safe place to land that they have given me, so I know that I can be back. They are like family to me, and coming back just reminds me of that.”

Morgan also thanked the loyal viewers and her followers expressing, “I’m so appreciative of you guys, and all the fans who have supported me along this Y&R journey. But I’m still on it, I’m still going to be recurring, so you’ll still catch me in Genoa City.”

The talented star ended with a tease of projects and roles to come, telling her fans to, “Keep looking out for new things.”

So will you miss not seeing Mishael as much on Y&R?  Are you exciting to see what roles and projects she gets involved with next? Are you glad she is still recurring with the show and will continue to make appearances in stories? Comment below.
