By now, most General Hospital viewers have seen or know about Friday’s episode which saw Michael Easton killed-off the show when his character of Silas Clay was murdered.

Easton, who is beloved by his fan base and colleagues, took to his official facebook page to make a statement on his exit from General Hospital and share his heartfelt sentiments.

Michael related: “THIS IS HOW IT ENDS … It always hurts to say goodbye. The sting is lessened because of the time I was able to spend with all of you. Not sure when our paths will cross again but in the meantime, my family and I extend our heartfelt thanks and blessings for all the support and kindness you showed us over the past three years. You made us feel loved and we send our love back to you.”

There is one thing On-Air On-Soaps would like to add: Michael Easton always shows grace, class, and recognizes and appreciates the dedication, of you, his fans.  Maybe, Days of our Lives might think of bringing back Tanner Scofield (the role Easton played from 1990-1992) for their upcoming 50th anniversary season?

I love Michael!
He will do well..
His movie, he wrote, produced, and won an award for best movie, recently shows he has a great future ahead for him..
(not to forget his writing of is awesome novels!)

All soap actors are apt to be let go at anytime..
They know that and when it does happen it is sad..
As with the ?100’s before him 🙁

Michel rocked from vampire to doctor !!

What a lovely, thoughtful gentleman.

I met him at a SOAP special back when PC was still running, he truly is a gentleman and I guess hey don’t get too far in showbiz! I’m sick about them killing him off, and he saved Ava’s life, what an ingrate, but I believe she’s a sociopath and deserves to die.

Su…I know you have taken a lot of heat on your opinions on Tony Geary’s leaving, and now his possible return statement 5 minutes after he departed into the fog. Michael’s not Tony as far as soap longevity and Emmys, but Tony could take a page from Michael and others who’ve either been let go, killed off, or left for other reasons about how to leave the stage. In this case Michael graciously knew how to exit and expressed it to the fans. Just another reason to understand the backlash Tony’s getting from fans who have invested in him over the years. In this case, Tony winning Emmys don’t matter. Their feelings are a little bruised…as sucky as this may sound to you.

Rose, that was very well said. I echo your sentiment.

Couldn’t have said it better! Longtime GH and Tony fan, but if I could choss I’d much rather have Michael back, in a heartbeat!

I have a theory on who killed Silas Clay….
Silas’ brother Stephen. The story could go that he planned to take over Silas identity and killed him and didn’t have time to remove the body. So now he needs to disappear for a bit .
Let’s not forget, someone dressed like a doctor with a ring on left the morgue and we never saw the body under the sheet… And he was a bad boy you may recall!
Hopefully, I’m correct and Stephen will be back. It would be a shame for GH to lose two great actors in one month! Plus I thought I read not too long ago that he had signed another contract with GH

Running with Kathis’ theory–and maybe that is really Stephen who died.
Silas killed him in self defense and is now in hiding.

It seems that General Hospital gets rid of any character that is not in a Sonny/Jason storyline. I stopped watching GH ten years ago because every story involved Sonny and Jason and it seems that GH is going in that same direction. I only started watching GH again because of the One Life to Live characters coming over. I think GH should just change their name to the Sonny and Jason Hour. Goodbye GH.

Wherever he winds up I hope we see Michael soon.
He is a wonderful actor…..Silas just wasn’t a good fit for him.

Michael Easton is a class act. A fine and handsome actor. I’d LOVE to see him paired up with Eve (Kassie DePaiva) on DAYS. I don’t remember the early 90s much, so perhaps DAYS can secure Michael Easton in a new role, and really write for him.

Michael and Kassie had grear chemistry on OLTL

They certainly did have great chemistry on OLTL. It would be wonderful for Michael to show up on Days. Eve definitely needs a man to occupy her time.

That they did

Great idea to pair him with Eve on Days!!!

Michael Easton & Kassie DePaiva were fantastic on OLTL. Would be great to have Easton back on Days to reunite with DePaiva.

This is how it feels s done ! He is a man of integrity wish him nothing but the best! Kill needs a new live interest on B&B do it!

Sorry for the typos! KKL needs a new live interest and he shows you how you exit! Pure class

Love

I did not notice any typos, Kay–I just saw your content.
I do agree that he is a class act and full of integrity.
Soap operas do not seem to be embracing the unique and understated talent of such stars as Michael. Allow me to mentally underline the adjective unique. Michael E manages to be quite handsome without adhering the perfect cookie cutter male soap specimen which riddles the soap terrain now days. I swear, if I see one more waxen chest…..
Michael E had a very interesting way of smiling. As John McBain his smile would almost seem involuntary as it would flicker on and then quickly flicker off leaving the viewer thinking they had witnessed something special. Do you know what I mean?
As Silas, we never got to see that elusive smile. We also never got to see him in a love scene, something at which Michael E is well adept. And finally, Silas, and even John McBain, never made any friends in Port Charles. We really never got to see him socially interact with any of the characters. If he wasn’t tending to his nutty ex wife Nina, he was tending to his nutty ex lover, Denise.
What a waste of a treasure.
I am just happy he is making it as successful writer and director.

I’m going to miss Michael Easton on GH. I loved him as John McBain and I loved him as Silas Clay.

He’s a good actor, but hasn’t had any substantial or interesting storyline in the last year. That’s why it’s so puzzling that he’s frequently still rated “number one” male actor in the ABC Soaps in Depth magazine.

I agree. I loved him more as John McBain, that whole PP BS screwed him up and Roger Howarth who isn’t quite as enjoyable as Todd Manning.

Michael Easton will be missed but he was terribly underused. I wish him well.

Lovely statement. Class act. Seems like a nice person.

Michael, I have enjoyed watching you perfect the roles you have been given over the years. Remember when one door closes, another one will open. I will be watching to see where you land next. Miss you already!

GREAT ACTOR WHO NEEDED A REAL STORY….CLASS ACT…WISH HIM MUCH LUCK AND CONTINUED SUCCESS…HE WILL BE MISSED……GH SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF SO MANY MORE…..NOT THIS GENTLEMAN!!!!!

Thanks Michael. I always enjoyed your work.

As we all know, with any soap opera there’s always room for a come back.

Remember, Stephen Clay, Calab Morley and Father Michael Morley from the GH
spin-off Port Charles. (Michael played all three parts).

He still has a “back door” way of coming back to GH.

Thanks Michael and Good Luck…

Yes! Bring back Caleb Morley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How has Primetime not grabbed Michael Easton up yet??? He is such a good actor! Hope we get to see him again soon!!

This news has stunned me and now I am heartbroken. I went to last year’s fan club weekend and after the cast party, the actors were stationed where the fans can meet their favorite actor and take a photo. Well…Michael Easton had the longest line with eager fans who were waiting just to see him. I don’t mind saying that Jason Thompson, Kristen Storms, and several other big name actors were in the same room and there was no line to meet them…There was no comparison! Polls aside, he was and is the most popular, down to earth, talented actor at the event. He spent so much time with each fan, signed every autograph, and smiled for every photo. He made all of us feel we were special, and was so happy we were there. What a tremendous loss that I still can not believe GH did this to Michael I hope another show will take him and write material that is suitable for Michael’s talent. He deserves it…much love to you Michael Easton

You will be missed on the screen, but you will be back somewhere soon I am sure. I love the way you write, and you and your family will be blessed. Thanks for the three years on GH! You are a class act! Never forget it!

Didn’t know him well but seemed like a really appealing personality and actor. Lousy role on GH but he can find better. Nothing like being stabbed in the back.

🙁
Michael Easton
@MichaelEaston67
American television actor, poet, author and photographer.
And missed by your fans !

It’s usually diffucult when a good actor leaves. There are those you ‘d wish would leave but NOT the good ones! Michael was so gracious and wrote a caring note to fans
..class act! Hopefully Michael will find something t

All the best to you, Michael. You were extraordinary when I first saw you on Port Charles. You continue to be extraordinary, so I know you will have continued success in everything you do. GOD!!!!! I despise ABC/Disney!!!!!!

Micheal I was so hoping GH would give you much more screen time. However I was thinking maybe you could go to Y&R and hook up with my fav pairing for you in soapland with Gina/Phyllis?! Best wishes to you always and your family where ever life leads you. Soap fan since the 60’s.

I heard OLTL is coming back, let’s see Michael reprise his role

With the exit of Michael–a real loss and Kristen Alderson, it is like reliving the death of One Life to Live all over again. Next will be Roger Howorth. Michael is a wonderful actor and GH is the one to lose on this deal. Long Live John McBain~~

Now that Ron Carvilati is gone, maybe the new writers will be smart enough to bring Michael back. He can be another Clay or a new detective, Dave McCain. Just such an enormous waste to lose such a talented, not to mention hot and steamy actor!

Agree with your comment- “…talented, not to mention hot and steamy actor!”. Never thought of having another Clay with better storylines.

Michael wasn’t getting much airtime on GH-not like when he played John McBain on OLTL. Good luck to him.

Michael Easton is my favorite actor. I’m heartbroken over him leaving. I would Love to see Michael back on Days. I would love to see a Tanner/Eve pairing. Love Live Tanner Scofield, Caleb Morley, Stevphen Clay and Silas Clay.

Michael Easton is my all time favorite too. The minute he is on the screen my eyes can’t get enough if only they could have had he and Ava together he had chemistry with her. I just so sad to see him go. I gues back to You Tube watching clips of he and Melissa Archer being hot and steamy and angry and the most awesome pairing ever! In my humble opinion. Good luck Michael this is GH’s loss.

No Jokie for me. They were the worst pairing ever. Tney had ZERO Chemistry. My Michael Easton Watching will be od JoVan with Him and Renee Goldsberry. JoBlair with him and Kassie Depaiva and Port Charles With Caleb and Olivia and Caleb and Alison. Along with Sava Silas/Ava and Sils/Sam

Yes I enjoyed him and Melissa Archer immensely; they had wonderful chemistry both onscreen and offscreen. I remembered how he said he had a special relationship with Melissa Archer. That certainly makes for good onscreen dynamic. My best wishes to him and her.

Jolie were awesome. Michael and Melissa brought the heat and passion. I hope we get to see them again!

Anyone who liked Jokie has got to be. Cause there was NO and I mean NO Chemistry between Michael and the WHINY redhead. There was nothing between them except her looking LIjke a damn Child NEXT yo a MAN

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however rest assured Jolie were no joke. They were and continue to be well loved. Look at Michael’s most recent interview. They had amazing chemistry. Jolie 4ever!

Was it his decision to leave, a contractual thing or just plain old dismissal?

He was let go..
If an actor is not of the soaps core they will usually be the ones cut/let go..
I’d bet people’s favorites since the 70’s to date, that hmmmm 100+ have been let go from all the soaps, it is not unusual..
I guess all soap actors see themselves as being on borrowed time..
‘sept the chosen few..

SUOO, you’re correct when you say that Michael’s character was not part of GH’s core stories/characters.
Whose fault is that?

I’m just a bit surprised because he was one of the chosen three moved from One Life to GH. But, at least when I watched, he was always wasted on GH.

Michael you are such a wonderful actor. I watched you on OLTL and when you came to GH that was wonderful – made my day. You are one of the reasons that I still watch GH – will miss that smile of yours and those beautiful blue eyes. Y&R would be smart to pick up an actor of your caliber. God bless you and your family and I look forward to seeing you on TV real soon.

Michael Easton you was my number one actor on the show I will be missing you I hope I will see you again ,God bless you and your family

I enjoyed watching you as John McCain and Silas Clay. I really hope to see you on something else. Good luck in whatever you endeavor.

I will seriously miss ME. What a great actor and classy guy. I loved John McBain and it was awful that GH couldn’t keep the character and coming back as Silas was a weird turn of events but ME made Silas likable, as he does with all his characters. I know he writes and does other things but I will miss seeing him on the show.

A good man and I wish him well. Truthfully, I hated the Silas chacter and am not shook up that he was killed off. He would fit in well over at Y&R.

Michael Easton is a great actor, he’s be good in any role anywhere. I hope we get to see him again real soon.

You will be missed Michael! I loved watching you back on OLTL and now and am really going to miss seeing you! OLTL was my favorite with you and Natalie. Hopefully we see you again soon!

LOVE you Michael!!! I can hardly wait to see where you land next. YOU are an incredible actor! GH fans miss you greatly…such a class act.

I too, will miss you Michael, and I am annoyed the mystery of Caleb’s ring has been tossed to the winds.

We love you, and hope to see you soon anywhere else. We are really going to miss you………

Great actor that I followed since OLTL. I wasn’t aware that he wrote books or a move but intend to check into it.

I can’t believe they let him go (killed him off) My only hope is that they bring him back as they have most all of the others. Michael’s fans need to raise some hell!!! GH this is a bad move yet again!!

Quote RC;
”” and warns if viewers are watching a show just for a character or a couple, “you’re putting yourself in a difficult situation…because you’ll end up disappointed.” About writing characters off the show, he does it ‘because it’s his job, not because he wants to’. Carlivati indicates that those who are not on contract “can pop in and out when we need them. It has allowed us to broaden our canvas of characters and pull from so many different eras of the show.”

RC can not and does not fired anyone, he is told to write whomever out , it is part of his job to do what he is told to do, writing someone out when someone has been let go .

Yes, but it’s also the head writer’s job to introduce, flesh out and establish a character making him/her part of the overall canvas rather than have him/her isolated on their own little island.
To paraphrase John Donne–
No man is an island…..especially on a soap opera.

Michael had his stories..
I loved the vampire and also when he with Sam, and the baby story with Heather..
He had a good run..
Sometimes thing just don’t go on..
Not everyone is a star..
besides the past year Michael has been very busy writing, producing and promoting his own movie, that he for best movie award for..
not forget the novels he wrote,.,,
did you ever think perhaps Michael wanted and needed time off to do those things, and therefore there was no big stories for him..

Dear Suoo;
Just ONCE I would like you to admit that you’re wrong.
Just once!
You are Frank Lloyd Wrong!

Silas’s story was never that interesting to me, even though I love Michael Easton. I wish, instead of pairing him with Kelly Monaco, they had brought in Melissa Archer as Nina. Fans of John&Natalie would have tuned in, and they would have been a force to be reckoned with. Instead, all they did was give “Siam” fans a temporary thrill before they paired Sam with Patrick, leaving Silas (Michael) without a love interest or a story.

Maddiehayes, I totally agree. I adore Michael Easton and enjoy watching him WHEN he is written well. Jolie was his longest and most popular pairing so it makes sense to me that they’d capitalize on that. I have nothing against the Caleb/Livvie fans and am not in any way throwing shade toward those who loved his pairing with KeMo; to each their own. But as a SB/KeMo fan; I do feel all of their years of pairing was trashed to make room for John in the most senseless way. Even SB and KeMo has commented at fan events that they were surprised and disappointed as well. During that timeframe, the two most popular pairings on ABC was JaSam and Jolie. And RC trashed both of those; the only difference is that JaSam can always be repaired and can always be eventual endgame. Without OLTL as Jolie’s platform; their damage was harder to fix. RC himself has said that the goal is always for John and Natalie to be together but he immediately sacrificed their love story for a pairing with Sam and there was no basis for it. At least have it make sense; it made no sense for Jason to act the way he did toward Sam nor for Sam to move toward John so quickly. Nor did it make sense for John to stay away from Liam after being deprived of him for almost a year simply for vengeance against Sonny which was also the stupidest reason in the world. So while I enjoyed John McBain; I did not enjoy the way he was written because he did not stay true to character. So they pushed the pairing with Sam only to break them up a short time later. I agree that MA’s fiery disposition woudl have lit a light under Silas but TPTB wasn’t inclined toward that vision. I just hope ME finds another platfom where he can be fully enjoyed and engaged.

I can appreciate what RC said to a degree. Anyone who knows soaps knows that their couple’s romance will always be short lived; we’ll get a month of happiness for 2 years of dragged out sorrow and conflict. Not fair of course but that’s the nature of the business. But his words are also contradictory because most people who watch soaps are watching it because they are drawn to a love story and/or pairing. Sure there are other plots on soaps and there are always exceptions to the rule but soaps are primarily made of drama filled romances and the pairings are what draws the fans. They are drawn in by the chemistry and they root for the obstacles to be overcome so they can be together. So for him to say is odd simply because if all of the people who watch for a pairing or character were to stop watching altogether; there would very little audience left which clearly is what happened since GH’s ratings began to decline. I don’t believe that RC saved the show; I do feel he has done things to take the focus off the mob and to bring back old characters but he just did a lot of stunts. He has so many people on the show; no one can really get a good story because there is no room to spread things around. But there were other factors that put GH in a position to be kept on the air and those things happened. And if something doesn’t turn things around soon; they will be in danger again. Truth be told, the Llanview 3 really didn’t fit in Port Charles. I am not saying that they didn’t entertain nor am I saying that they didn’t get new fans. But I am saying that the characters would never flourish the same as they did on their original show because GH has different goals and endgames and the characters would be adjusted to fit that not their original intent.

Totally agree with YOU! Roger Howarth’s Todd was the only OLTL character who was left intact by the crossover. He was still in love with Blair, still a good father to Starr, still the same Todd we knew. They had to kill off Starr’s little family to make her work with Michael, and I never bought them together because of that. As for McBain, his was the worst of all! John attracted to Sam after all the time OLTL spent trying to get him, Natalie and their son back together? It made John look like the worst kind of deadbeat dad and skirt chaser. We women don’t like men like that! We like a man who is faithful to his woman! And, to top it all off, Jason was acting all out of character, couldn’t accept Danny because he might not be his – PuhLeeze!
Jason was never like that. Michael isn’t his biological child, but he loved him like his own. I just feel sorry for Michael Easton, because it’s like RC never really knew what to do with him. And I know Michael was confused as to where his character stood in regards to Natalie and Sam. At one point John said he was married to Natalie. Then RC had to do damage control on Twitter to calm down the agitated McBam, Jasam and Jolie fans. What a mess that was! Like you, I wish ME all the best and will definitely tune in to watch him in his next endeavor.

I love your comment. RC baited the Jolie fans so much with John’s entrance. First they said John was married, then they said he wasn’t. And no way Jason would act that way toward Sam; she was VIOLATED. Why would he turn his back on her? John and Jason were written like jerks. John didn’t want to leave Natalie to visit his brother Michael for Thanksgiving yet he’d stay in Port Charles months at a time and just abandon her and his son? And that STUPID story about John’s SISTER BEING KILLED? Come on, now. I know that soaps change history and add crap all the time but that was RIDICULOUS. John was a 10 year old kid when his dad died; so you are gonna tell me that his dad would confide in John that he cheated on his mother and had some love child that NO ONE KNEW ABOUT? It was a HUGE hit on his father’s legacy of a hardworking family man with integrity who loved his wife and two sons. Character consistency and integrity is essential even on a soap; I share Anthony Geary’s feelings that soaps don’t have to be campy. Well it’s done but I hope ME’s next role is a lot better than that.

LOL, I’d almost forgotten about that stupid Sister story, you just had to remind me, didn’t you? Only non-OLTL (and rabid Calivia) fans would buy that. It’s a crying shame what RC did to the character of John McBain.

Oh I am almost going to holler. That was hilarious. Yes it was stupid; what man would put such a burden on his 10 year old kid? WHATEVER. And I almost fell out the day he premiered when he told Sonny, “I raised Cole.” Girl I kept rewinding it and kept asking “You raised WHO?!” The same Cole that was 16 when he met him? OMG. Whatever. See you can’t fit a square peg in a round hole so RC kept cutting at the sides to MAKE IT FIT. Well the loser is gone now. Hopefully he has learned a lesson. I remember ME saying at the end of OLTL that you can’t just keep dragging out bad stories and expecting people to watch. I can’t say I am sorry that he’s off the show but of course I’d like for him to have a gig. I am sure we’ll see him soon.

I had no idea he was leaving…but on friday’s show…it was clear…how 3 different people were out to get Silas..I thought…”are they going to kill him off” ?…and earlier, when Michael Easton walked into Baldwin’s office, and Roger was there…it was Soooooooo nice those two together..funny every time they are on at the same time..they don’t even have to speak………So I was kind of shocked he was killed off…(maybe Helena can bring him back?) Then I read Tony Geary’s interview about Ron C…was shocked over those comments…and not happy about them..because IMO..Ron Carlivati, is probably the most caring, creative soap writer that there is…and i feel, he went over and above to show that to Tony geary…the last several months were all about his character…he should be thanking him. I don’t get it… Before I read that…having watched other interviews on why he was leaving (GEARY) I just thought health reasons…wanting to be able to do other things in life, etc….I can’t believe Carlivati was FIRED !! Insane…truly INSANE,,imo.. I remember for years…anytime a different writer came on..it didn’t bode well for geary at all…GUZA was his buddy and favorite..I thought he outgrew that…guess not..whatever.. Ron Carlivati…and Frank Valentini are the best team in soaps, THE BEST!! they are great…huge difference in ABC soaps and other networks..can’t even watch..nbc, cbs soaps at all…and i have tried. OLTL was THE BEEEEST ever..the best Thanks to them..and the actors. THE BEST. THE ABSOLUTE BEST..and he brought that to GH…trying to please everyone on that set..I can’t even imagine how hard that must have been..MY SYPATHIES. OLTL actors..THE BEST!! and they all deserve to be back on that show, shame on ABC for the cancel, worst decision ABC FRONS..ever did to television..the worst.

also….what other writer, would go through so muc to bring back all original characters from years ago?? NO ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I thought HOW GREAT IS THIS?? heather webber Lucy. Scott, Frisco, Doc…AJ, and brought scorpio faiizon..EVERYONE how great was that?? AND HES FIRED?? are you people insane??

All those characters were brought back and either killed off, made to act totally out of character or they have disappeared without mention.
And back to ME, Michael Logan of TV Guide Tweeted,”I am not surprised ME was let go. When Nina came onto the scene, Silas’s balls were cut off.”
Ron deserved to be fired a long time ago.

I feel Nina Clay was totally miscast..IMO…But, as far as the Characters being brought back, they were brought back for the 50th..(I think it was the 50 anniversary ) for a light ,fun look at the past..and it was a really fun way to honor the show..I love what Ron C did with it..It was fun..I also Love his writing, and his wit..he is IMO the best thing ever to happen to soaps… I LOVED OLTL…and miss it…and being able to watch what he has done these last few years with GH…I felt was just incredible. loved it…I can’t imagine how any writer will be able to match him…unless the writers who have been working with him, “get it”…There has never been, IMO…a writer for soaps that comes close to his type of writing, humor..and I feel a total dedication to the characters and Show…sometimes THE NEW KID, gets snubbed by the GROUP…and I feel for sure, that’s what did happen here. I was also surprised at TONY GEARY’s comments, considering RON C’s, total commitment to LUKE’S Charcter…I think Frank and Ron are a great team…and GH has lost a great Writer!!

My daughter, granddaughter and I were fortunate to meet him at Soapfest in Orlando back in 2006. He picked my six year old granddaughter up so we could snap a picture! I will cherish that photo always…and he had such a genuine smile! Good luck Michael in whatever the future holds for you! If you do get picked up on another soap or primetime I will watch!

I to was at that event. I have pictures of Michael also. What a nice guy. He was so friendly and took pictures with everybody.

He will be missed.

GH blew it. Never gave him a good story, nor a good character . They could have had Silss go through some transformative experience such that he was a changed man, full of life, expressive , taking on adventures or big story lines. Sheesh, if they can bring back people from the dead…..he could have changed careers. The writers could have done anything they wanted once they realized they gave ME a boring character. GH were idiots to let him go.

that whole Luke/ Fluke thing was a waste of time. Give ME a true love interest and watch the ratings climb!

I wish Michael the best and know wherever he lands he will be brilliant, free from Silas. Death to Silas and long live Michael!

Micheal, I think your a wonderful actor, writer, and producer. You are super talented and will have no problem finding another project. It was a joy to watch you over the years. I wish nothing but awesome things for you.
xoxo
Jolie forever. ☺

You are going to be missed you did a great job is Silas Clay. Thank you for caring about your fans and thank you most of all for just being you because without you we would have none of your great characters that you’ve played through out the years weather we have loved or hated them you have always gave a hundred percent in and did an amazing job thank you so much a fan for life Christina Long

Extremely upset that Michael will no longer be on GH. Loved him in OLTL and was excited when he was brought to GH, but, they gave him awful story lines. He is great and will be missed. Can’t wait to see you again Michael. I may not watch GH anymore. He’s the reason why I started watching it again.

I always thought that once GH had to change the 3 characters brought on from OLTL the actors’ talents had been wasted. Since then, RC wrote these ridiculous stories that are again wasting the great talents of Roger Howarth, Michael Easton (so sad to see Silas’ demise), Michelle Stafford and, to a lesser degree, Maura West.
I can’t wait for the new head writers – experienced ladies both – to change or get rid of these actors’ storylines and give them something serious and appropriate for their talents.
I’ve always liked Michael Easton and wish him the very best for whatever his future holds. He was definitely better than the stories given to him lately, and hopefully now his talents in other areas of the business will shine the way they were meant to. Onward and upward, Michael!

He is such a gentleman, I met him at SuperSoap weekend in Disney years ago and he was just so nice and attentive. I am so upset about him being written off of GH, what a waste of talent and if the new powers that be don’t bring him back soon, somebody is going to grab him and then we will never get him back. Please GH, fix this, we’ve lost so many already. I have been watching since 1976 (before Luke) and I don’t think that I have ever been as frustrated as Michael’s departure. The others that upset me were the actors’ choices. Please bring him back. You let the chance go to get Tristan Rogers back and to work a scheduling deal with Steve Burton, don’t mess this up too. Thanking you in advance for listening and hopefully reconsidering the situation before it’s too late.

I had a I deal you would vet killed by Morgan or EVea ,but I am sorry to see you go, they are not leave to many fine men ,But I know one thing if Sonny is taken off then the show is ruined and that the end for me I wish you all the happiness you will be missed

I haven’t been following michaelfaimanon soaps for a while now. I was so surprised they killed Michael Easton’s role of Silas Clay. The last link to ex- OLTL. Not very happy about this. Don’t know why he left
GH. If he decided to leave or his contract expired and didn’t want to renew it. Or GH writers simply wrote
his character out of the show. Bummer!!!

Michael, I’ve been a fan since your dual role on Port Charles. I wish you and your family all the best. Wonder if you still have the favorite shoes from OLTL ? Hope to see you on television again very soon .

Barbara Plotkin

I have always watched all the ABC soaps, yet your Tanner captured my interest back in the day, and I have followed you and your whole career (films, book et al )ever since. Talking strictly about soaps, I loved your Michael/Caleb Morley and Steven Clay/Caleb on Port Charles, as well as John Mcbain on O.T.L.- despite the bad writing, I enjoyed your Silas also. I think it’s good that you are moving on because unfortunately the character of Silas was never properly developed and it Silas was just going nowhere.
When I attended the ABC Soap fests in Orlando I had the pleasure of going to your meet and greets several times, and you treated all your fans with such appreciation. You had so much patience and made each fan feel they were special. What especially endears you to me, is how truly humble and down to earth (to the point of being a bit self effacing) you are, the spiritual energy you give off, and again your fantastic, understated sense of humor.
I wish you and your family love, blessings and success in all of your endeavors and look forward to seeing you again along your journey , as your new creations are revealed to us. I selfishly would love to see you on another soap everyday.

Don’t leave GH! Honestly I was hoping that after Tony Geary left they would flesh out your part. You are the best actor on the show.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH?
