Michael Muhney Tweets To Fans In Response To Justin Hartley Named As Y&R's New Adam: "I Wish Him The Best. Be Kind To Him."

Michael Muhney, the former Adam Newman of The Young and the Restless, took to Twitter this morning upon the news that Justin Hartley was finally revealed to be his successor in the pivotal role on the CBS soap opera.
Fan fervor for Muhney to return in the role has gone on for months since his ouster from the series back in December of 2013. Muhney recently tweeted to his fans he was also in talks to return to the series, but that it did not pan out.
Since Muhney is attempting to have fans, who wished for Muhney to return, to not bash the incoming Hartley, he sent out the following tweet: “I really like Justin Hartley. He’s a good guy. We really get along well. I wish him the best. Be kind to him. #goodguy”
What do you think of Michael’s tweet to his Twitter followers on the naming of Justin Hartley as the new Adam? Share your thoughts below!
Go away Michael Muhney. Your two cents aren’t needed and good riddance to you.
Amen!
Justin Hartley @Hartleyjustin · 1h
A thank you to Michael Muhney for the well wishes. Very much appreciated. Thank you.
Gee, Justin just made you two look petty as hell.
If you hate him that damn much why would you be bothered to read it. Try a hobby!
well, that was uncalled for. Michael was trying to be nice.
show some class and respect…annie,,,he was superb as adam newman
I disagree! RUDE!!!!!!
Good luck to you Michael. You’re a great man to wish him luck after what they did to you! That’s alright, everything happens for a reason! You’ll get something better!! Good luck again! Nobody will ever do as good as you and will ever take your place!!
Obviously his two cents was needed and appreciated, Justin appreciated it and this site wrote a whole article about it which you responded too. Lol. Michael showed class and Justin showed humility….it’s nice traits to have.
Wow, how soon we forget.
Your response to his gracious and kind gesture is petty and nasty and it comes, not surprisingly, from a place of ignorance.
they are just playing with us its Michael that will be coming back!
NO NEW ADAM!
I do not want an Adam recast!
Y&R recasts have been horrible!
Y&R is gutted of all that once made it great.. It is empty..
and hardly realizable..
There is no replacing Adam / can’t be done..
Some characters should not be rebuilt/replaced ..
No matter how good an actor Justin Hartley is- he is not Adam ..
being handsome or a good actor does not mean he would be a good Adam..
this suck .. Adam should have just been let to RIP ..
Here, here….
“…Y&R is gutted of all that once made it great.. It is empty..
and hardly realizable..”
Truth
Here, there and everywhere…
“Truth”
Something’s fishy!
Come on suOOOO…Y&R rocks…dont gripe…its entertainment…have fun…sound familiar…lol
How bout,”Fun! Fun! Fun!” or if “You don’t like it turn off the TV?” Or finally, “People who watch a show they hate and then complain about it need therapy and they are bitter and have no lives”?
Oh Jim! You’re so bad :P.
I couldn’t agree more. They should have killed off his character and we could just go through another Nikki binge for the (lost count of how often we have to see Nikki fall off the wagon)
geez
Justin Hartley is 6’3” tall !! (way off from my adam..
The/is women are under 5’5” .. LOL that will look weird..
and he looks young, too young and pretty looking..
Nope, not going to work ..
MM is Adam … (bottom line…
MM is 6’2. Not that way off.
Right, moreover, Didi, this guy looks a lot like MM.
Give this guy a chance . It’s not his fault that MM left Y&R.
As MM said,”Be kind.”
i agree ,,i watched him on revenge,,,he doesnt have the chops to pull this off,,,,but all the best to him…
su000, one thing we learned from Alan Ladd and Jean Harlow from Red Dust is that with the big screen, as well as the small screen, height is irrelevant if you’ve got charisma, presence and talent.
In other words, size doesn’t matter.
Harry-
yah.. the short one stood on a box to even out the height so they could look in each others eyes etc..,,
and Harry, size always matter lol ohh yah!! 😉
they will look silly next to each other.. he is a very tall man
melissa had better bring her box .. ahaa!..
Let the bashing begin!! All the best to Justin Hartley. I liked his work on Passions and Revenge.
I agree..
but-
that does not mean he that he can be Adam .. 🙂
(looking around to see if anyone else is wearing the same look of frustrated befuddlement as I am).
oops .”that does not mean he can be Adam” ..
What work!! The show went off the air in a very short time. That’s how good it was.
Nikki, I didn’t say the show was good, I said I liked his work on Passions and Revenge. Harry, I agree with your comment.
Actually, I was heartbroken that MM was not returning. But, when I heard they had cast JH, I thought that can work. I think MM was very gracious in his comments and I too wish Justin well. I loved Justin in Passions and Emily Owens, MD. Just hope people will give him a chance and hope MM shows up somewhere in the near future.
While I didn’t catch Hartley on PASSIONS, I certainly did enjoy his work on both REVENGE and MISTRESSES … so I am cautiously optimistic he’ll do well in this role! (He held his own against evil-mama Victoria on REVENGE, so that should have trained him well to go toe-to-toe with Victor, just sayin’!)
I don’t know Justin but I am pretty sure he will be a wonderful replacement for Adam. That being said, I will miss MM in the role terribly, he did a masterful job filling the role of Adam. I wish both of them good luck. MM*****
Wow
gavel…
“… I will miss MM in the role terribly, he did a masterful job filling the role of Adam. I wish both of them good luck. MM***** “
My suspicions will be realized. MM was close to going back to Y&R, but certain performers hated the idea, so he’ll end up at the other/better Sony soap…Days of our Lives. I’m waiting for confirmation.
I soooo HOPE this
Wasn’t it Sony who fired him, not CBS. If that is so then there is no way he is going to Days.
As for the “negotiations” I doubt it, Justin had to have been in the works for awhile before the announcement today. That is probably why Logan said that there were not any negotiations last week because by Hartley was a done deal.
It does not matter who fired him. The soaps have a long history of bringing back actors they fired. That said, it’s more doable in the MM situation because DAYS is not Y&R.
Neither EB nor JFP run DAYS…a soap running on story, not ego.
In due time.
If that’s true I might have to start watching Days.
DAYS is great without MM and will be great with MM!!
He looks the part and thats half the battle. Give him a chance to ease into the role.
Justin Hartley is GORGEOUS woo hoo good for him!!
Sorry but I want MM back. I would like to know what his plans are. Anyone know?
Nothing in the future said on his twitter yet but hopefully soon. Bet the ones that didn’t want him back was Summer (Hunter King) & Victor ( Eric Braden). They really have the show’s best interest at heart & don’t give a damn about what the fans want either. Hopefully now that King got her 15 minutes in the spotlight and a story line once its over they can drop her by the waste side where she belongs.
Your comment is ironic…considering your name. lol
Yes Hello World (NOBODY WITH THE NAME NIKKI SHOULD HATE VICTOR OR SUMMER)
I like this boy but he has big shoes to fill. If he can’t fill them Y&R will be in the same spot as they were with the Billy’s. Too many changes to deal with. New Billy’s, new Phyillis and now a new Adam.
Hè Will never fill your shoes…you are truelly THE best…..they Will be calling on you in à Year….idiots..40 years of watching…you are Victors only replacement….dawn
Sigh. Y&R will never be the same. Too many changes. I want MM back and BM. But nobody cares, so we might as well save our breath. Poor Justin Hartley though. He doesn’t deserve the fan hate he’s going to get.
Like MM or not, he’s certainly being more gracious than Ron Moss and his wife.
I want MM back, who by the way showed more class with his tweet than JFP will ever have. She is the Witch that has destroyed our show. MM will pop up on GH I believe. JFP needs to be terminated for her insensitive and arrogant treatment of actors and fans alike. Karma will strike this blind untalented poor excuse for an executive producer. I personally can’t wait. Good Luck JH and MM.
Michael Muhney is a class act. I am a huge fan of his and I love this talented actor . He was the reason I was drawn back into Y&R. I have not watched Y&R since Michaels last scenes. I gave it up but I do follow every thing written about MM. He will always be Adam Newman to me. They should not have replaced him if they got rid of MM.
I am not familiar with this young man’s work, Justin Hartley however, I wish him luck because he has some pretty big shoes to fill. Michael Muhney was one of those actors that brought Adam Newman to be a household name. I cannot fathom seeing another face playing the part of Adam Newman. A brown eyed man at that, Adam Newman had beautiful Blue eyes. You can change the face but never the eyes.
Michael has handled this whole situation with class and he is a phenominal gorgeous actor who deserved so much better. I will follow him wherever he goes and it will be straight to the top. Michael is not just a pretty gorgeous face, he has all that and the talent to back him up. He can play any role and make us beg for more. We love you Michael. Cannot wait to see you in the Christmas movie and whatever your next project may be. Your fans are behind you 100%. #TeamMuhney all the way.
Adam Newman is not a real person. he is a character. The characters eyes will be the color of the actor playing him.
And this is important WHY?
I can’t even think of any other way to put it. What a mess Y & R is now. But at least we know so we wont have to see the hands and hope to see MM back again. Michael your fans are behind you and will follow your career where ever you go and I agree it will be the top. As for Y & R why stay with a sinking ship!
I’d love to see MM come back but it is obvious it isn’t going to happen. I wish him great success in what he does next. Have to ask. Why do some people make such nasty comments ? So unnecessary.
Um he was never returning. There was no meeting or calls and needs to quit lying to his fans. He is so full of it.
AMEN!!!!!
And you know this because you work for Y & R. He was seen going into meetings with top notch people. I don’t think they we’re playing cards.
No Adam but MM. RIP Y&R or The JFP FOJ Show.
Agree fully!
Michael we will miss u and hope to see ur upcoming adventures U were the perfect Adam Newman and will always be Adam to me. Good luck in ur new adventures
Looking forward to seeing a new Adam. I think MM has such a large ego. Never was a fan!
I understand how frustrated we all are over the recasting of Billy but give NuAdam a chance. If he is bad, he is bad. Dont pick on his looks, his height, his past resume. Give him a chance. MM moved on. Lets all do the same. Good luck Justin.
Beautifully put, Timm. Thank you.
I for one won’t be giving him a chance because Y&R has lost me as a viewer. I have no interest in watching all of JFPs recasts. I am a fan of the actors she forced out so she could hire her FOJ friends. Never wanted any recast and love the former actors. They were amazing in their portrayals of the characters that I grew to love. Only because of their extraordinary talent. They made the worst script look great. All that is left are horrible scripts, cheap sets, and bad acting. No thanks.
Thats your right Fred. I just dont see how a “Fan” could quit watching the show. I realize it has been horrible and some great people have left but it is starting to get a little better.
Right! Said Fred
Unfortunately nuAdam will be having a major story with nuBilly, and if nuBilly’s scenes with Stitch are any indication how he acts in confrontation scenes, I am worried. I am was so looking forward to the meeting of this two characters after what went down in the car, and now I don’t believe it is going play well at all with the new Billy. I think nuAdam has the acting chops for the job, but that is only half the equation. If his scene partner is weak, the whole thing won’t fly. I just wish they had a strong Billy– creating the new generation of Newman Abbott feud—-is a must for this show, but I will keep an open mind hoping if nuAdam is a strong actor he might pull out better performances from his scene partners including nuBilly.
Thats a good point. Every scene Billy is in is horrible. I think thats one of the reasons Billy hasnt had scenes with Victor. Either Eric doesnt want to act with him or JFP realizes he would get eaten alive!
I love Michael Muhney. He did a fantastic job of playing Adam Newman and bringing vitality & honesty to every storyline Adam was involved in. Michael’s energy, wit and kindness allowed Adam to leap into our hearts and sympathize with this extraordinary character. All the best to Justin Hartley. You have big shoes to fill!
I really miss Mike but do wish him well on what ever he does. As for the new Adam, well they have to give him a chance.
I think it was classy of Michael to make the statement that he did to the new Adam. Wish Michael lots of success in his career. There is no doubt what so ever he is a good actor and will do fine.
Thanks for finally talking about > Michael Muhney Tweets To Fans In Response To Justin Hartley Named As Y&R
Good luck to MM, the official ADAM NEWMAN.
Hoping good things from JH!
Will follow MM in his next role.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

Photo: JPI
PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons
IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
