Love this show. This actor shows so much emotion. Do not care for the flashbacks, from his childhood. I have to FF when they are operating, but I love most of the characters, including the neighbor girl. Wonder if anything will develop between them.

Love the show but even more excited to see Michael Muhney in it. I was hoping he would be cast as a regular not a guest but oh well…i will take what I can get…I quit, like many many others, watching Y&R after his undeserved firing and had hoped he would return there. but agai their loss. here’s hoping he gets back on to regulary appear on more tv he is a fantastic actor.

I hate to say it but i cringe at the the mention of MM’s name. Inevitably it’s followed by a volley of bring him back to Y&R posts. I think the character will return but not with that actor’s face. I’m also surprised they haven’t ONCE tried to bring in a new Drucilla. Lawsuit i guess. And what happened to Summer Newman?

I will watch this strictly for Michael Muhney, whom I still miss on Y&R. I’m in a minority, I see, who can’t abide Freddie Highmore’s mannered acting. I watched BATES MOTEL just for the stellar work of Vera Farmiga and Max Theriot. Looking forward to seeing Michael’s work coming up.

Freddie Highmore is such an amazing actor. From the time I saw this little English lad in Finding Neverland…amazing the performances he gives in an American accent…especially now and his detached way of expressing himself in his current role. Incredible talent!

Agree!! And from the first time I saw FREDDIE play in AUGUST RUSH I actually wondered if he was related to Michael…they have similar facial features….more obvious when FREDDIE was younger. Love them both.

Yes! I loved August Rush! Fantastic in that, as well. I’m not an MM fan (which is why I didn’t comment specifically on him…sorry. LOL…never watched him on Y&R and not sure what the deal was with the alleged “situation” on set. I know he has his loyal fans…but as a neutral observer in listening to the fans take sides…I’ll just leave it at that. (I do admit though he was very good in his role on The Good Doctor. Tuned in by mistake…first time I saw the show since I don’t usually watch medical shows (Chicago Med and Night Shift I fell into and they’re both good)…which is when I realized it was Freddie. I’ll watch again. It, too, was good and that young actor who played the patient??? What a gorgeous, talented kid!!!! He broke my heart; I was misty through the whole end. He’s going to break a LOT of hearts when he’s older!!!

And then there’s Jonathan Rhys Myers (referring back to August Rush). Incredible actor unfortunately troubled with addiction. The Tudors? He can play anyone…what a talent! I’ll watch anything he’s in….

I didn’t watch because he was on the show. 😛

I hope Michael Muhney returns to Y & R! I was a fan since 1973. I seldomly watch since Michael left!

Caroll Spinney, Legendary Sesame Street Puppeteer Behind Big Bird And Oscar The Grouch, Dead At 85

More sorrowful news on Sunday.  Caroll Spinney, the legendary puppeteer behind beloved Sesame Street characters Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, died today,  at the age 85 at his home in Connecticut.  Spinney has been suffering from dystonia for quite some time.

For the body of his life’s work, Spinney received many significant honors.  He was the recipient of four Daytime Emmy awards, as well as the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006, the Library of Congress’ Living Legend Award, two Grammy awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Sesame Street workshop put on this press release upon his passing: “Caroll was an artistic genius whose kind and loving view of the world helped shape and define Sesame Street from its earliest days in 1969 through five decades, and his legacy here at Sesame Workshop and in the cultural firmament will be unending. His enormous talent and outsized heart were perfectly suited to playing the larger-than-life yellow bird who brought joy to generations of children and countless fans of all ages around the world, and his lovably cantankerous grouch gave us all permission to be cranky once in a while.

Welcomed to Sesame Street by Jim Henson, Caroll thrived under a mentorship that led to a decades-long great friendship. Caroll’s unparalleled career saw Big Bird visit China with Bob Hope, dance with the Rockettes, be celebrated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a U.S. postage stamp, and named a “Living Legend” by the Library of Congress. A favorite highlight for Caroll was conducting symphony orchestras and performing with them across the United States, Australia, and China, allowing him to personally connect with families everywhere through the music of Sesame Street. Caroll Spinney gave something truly special to the world. With deepest admiration, Sesame Workshop is proud to carry his memory – and his beloved characters – into the future. Our hearts go out to Caroll’s beloved wife, Debra, and all of his children and grandchildren.
