Things did not work out so well for  Y&R’s Tricky!  And on Tuesday, Michael Roark (Travis) posted a heartfelt farewell via social media to The Young and the Restless, where he became very popular in short order.

Roark expressed: “So long y’all, goodbye note says it. Ill miss bringing you Travis Crawford, c u soon on the next one.”

Michael also left a heartfelt message to fans of the CBS daytime drama series and “thank you’s” for: co-star Amelia Heinle (Victoria), Sony executive Steve Kent, CBS Daytime chief, Angelica McDaniel, Y&R executive producer, Mal Young, former EP and Y&R head writer, Chuck Pratt Jr. and writer Tracy Thompson, former EP, Jill Farren Phelps, and former Y&R casting director, Judy Blye Wilson.

Michael wrote: “Love you Y&R.  I made the decision to move on to the next challenge in my career.  Thank you fans for your support and for welcoming me, this has been an unexpected and special chapter for me. Special thanks to Amelia Heinle for being everything that she is and to the CBS family past and present for allowing me to bring Travis Crawford to the canvas including: Mal Young, Judy Blye Wilson, Chuck Pratt, Jill Phelps, Tracy Thompson, Angelica McDaniel and Steve Kent.  We hope you enjoyed our Tricky story.  I know fans may be disappointed in the turn in their story, so I offer this  … Travis lovesVictoria… Always has.  But he never took the care to look inward and address his demons after his life crashed the first time.  He ran away to a bar and then to a boat and life humbled him again, as it does …and he was only as strong as the weakest part of him … but ya never know if Travis may return to GC one day, maybe a wiser man.”

So, are you saddened to hear that Michael has departed The Young and the Restless? Were you rooting for Tricky? Share your thoughts on this message in the comment section below!

Best of luck to Mr. Roark. Happy to finally have the end of Chuck Pratt’s poison pen on this soap and looking forward to what’s ahead from Sally and Kay!

He would make a good Jeremy Horton on “DOOL.”

Jeremy Horton??

I dont think they will ever bring back Jeremy, Micheal and robin but i do know Valerie son may turn out to be David Banning’s

I see SSM is still cleaning house.

He admits he left on his own decision. Plus, his exit comes before her material even has aired.

True but this switch, there had to be some communication with the new and old. They dont write Travis as head of Newman and then take it away two days later because we wants to “Leave.”

SSM done wiped the floor with Travis’ behind. Watch the first episode of her work and ask yourself who is Travis. Bye Felicia!!!

Best of luck to him on future endeavors; Travis is a great actor, but I was never into Travis as a character.

Slow down Scott! Great? Maura West is great! Justin Hartley was great. Michael Muhney, yep, great! This Travis guy was okay.

I meant great within the role of “Travis”. But, no, he is nowhere on the level of some of the daytime legends, two of whom you mentioned!

Justin Hartley wasn’t just great he was awesome

Hi, Timmmy.
You and Scott are both right. Roark was obviously not as infamous as those other actors, but he portrayed Travis excellently.
However, his growth was stunted. I was so happy when he returned….for a very basic reason: his looks and how well he meshed with Amelia
The skulking around; the subterfuge; his air of mystery….all contributed to my getting him out of my orbit. The character was ruined by TPTB.
I always wonder why these actors, who work closely with Eric, blow away in the direction of the wind to neverneverland. Michael Muhney, anyone? We will never know!!
What are the chances Victoria will discover her father had a hand in Travis’ cheating?
What are the chances, Victor, knowing Travis’ past with Michelle, sent for her? Very high chances….it’s Victor we’re talking about here.

Travis isnt the actor, Michael is. Travis is the character.

@ Eileen I wonder if you ever get tired of being a smart ass?

I know; I made a mistake and by the time I realized, it was too late!

Some folks dont know the difference between the actor and the character. Just trying to help. Whats UR problem today?

Do you think he will be recasted or sail away?

As of right now, I don’t foresee them recasting the role of Travis; I don’t see him as someone needed to be on the canvas or all-that important that it’s imperative to be included.

I didn’t like him with Victoria, but I like the actor. He might have been good with someone else. Well, good luck!

Loved Travis…but H-A-T-E-D that Travis/Victoria pairing.

You’re right, Jay. Perhaps, the pairing was off….he looked way too young for her. But, there was a spark….as I said, he and Amelia meshed. …..a lot more than I can say with all the other guys following Billy Miller.
TPTB are trying so hard to get a rise out of Billy and Victoria right now, that it’s getting annoying.
This couple just doesn’t have IT…. but, we shall see. Miracles do happen; expecially in soaps.
These writers may be able to turn Billy/jason around…..too blah, as he is now.

Oh too bad. I liked him when he was that free spirited, sailer/bar owner.

Addison…I liked him, too. Travis seemed like a breath of fresh air compared to the other characters who all had agendas. Sorry they then put him into the Neuman family dynamic where no one wins except the usual suspects it seems. I’m fairly new to Y&R so I don’t have the years of watching and loyalty to characters like I have for GH, so I can also appreciate those who considered him a newbie who didn’t quite fit.

Hey Addison and Rose…I, too, am new to Y&R and even now don’t watch it regularly. But I really liked thus actor; Travis lit up the screen. I liked how Michael Roark cameboff when interviewed by Michael Fauh

Absolutely, Addison. Travis was so much more ‘watchable’ as the unfettered, nonchalant sailor/bartender…….then, ‘they’ had to attach Victor to him. Anyone who comes in close contact with Victor is cursed.
But, what would we do without ‘majestic’ Victor? As devilish as he is, I would miss both the character and the actor….he is exceptional.

THANK GOD! Take Stitch with you!

He is a good actor but can’t help but believe he was cast to fill the void left by Billy Miller. I wish him well. So very excited for tomorrow when SSM’s writing airs and the end of Chuck Pratt Jr’s horrible writing.

Travis was an ill defined character. The he loved Victoria was so pushed. Dear God. Do the producers watch their shows. If you look at “This is Us”, there are good writers/actors and characters. A small cast who is beloved. What the hell is wrong with the daytime soap operas already. That is soap opera. That is what the soaps were. They are so busy trying to pull in young ages, they screw things up. Primetime, ironically is better at daytime soap opera writing. Cable also better.

Very good comment Irene.

ALL THE BEST MICHAEL, WILL MISS YOU,

Will miss Michael Roark as I became enamored by him. He is a good actor and hope to see him soon in something else but not another soap opera. So young but has a lot of love to give. Best of luck Michael

I thought he would end with Abby next. Surprised he left or was written off.

Sally is starting out strong – there goes one of the many dead-weight, ill-conceived characters from the plot-driven pen of Charles Pratt, Jr. Next to go will be Dylan (adios, Steve Burton). Down the line I hope to see Stitch, Natalie and Hillary go bye-bye.

I also hope to see the Chancellor Mansion put back to the way it was it terms of furniture placement. Still looks wrong to me…I also hope those stupid establishing shots go away, along with the outdoor shots.

I disagree about the Chancellor mansion. Katherine Chancellor is dead. Jill Abbott, the current owner, should not be required to keep every piece of furniture exactly where Katherine placed it. This is home not a mausoleum

They “redecorated” it once and it was a disaster! Jill can do what she wants just bring into the fold more of Katherine’s family.

Hi, Susan,
I agree that Jill should put her own personal touch to the Chancellor mansion. But, what Billy supposedly did to the house had no warmth. It looked completely different….like living in a box.
I don’t really care about the furnishings as much as the drastic change. First thing we saw was a wall and a sofa. I like it much better now….shaping up.

I doubt Hillary will be leaving. Sally said in an interview that she liked the character.

Personally, I’d like to see her get rid of Cane, Colin, Devon and Chloe.

i would like if they would get rid of chloe. they should bring back adam newman. do they have a actor to play adam newman. michael muhney or anyone else they can find to play adam newman. he is almost everybody’s favorite character. he sure is my favorite character adam is. he really didn’t die did he. chloe must of kidnapped him. i think they should bring adam newman back to genoa city and to see his family. his wife and his son connor. nick is always with chelsea since adam is gone now. bring him back please . i miss adam . hire michael muhney . or find someone else to play him. dylan is my second favorite guy character. adam is my first then dylan then jack then kevin. i kind of like nick more than victor.

You hit all the points Tucker, love it!

IN CANADA TODAY WE SAW THE NEW WRITING TEAM S WORK,,,IT WAS LIKE GOING BACK 20 YEARS,,,FLASH BAKS OF JOHN ABBOTT,, A FAMILY BREAKFAST..TRACY AT THE TABLE WITH HER HAIR DONE AT THAT,,, BUT BEST PART OF ALL WAS THE OLD MUSIC BACK AND CHARACTERS GIVING THE REASONS WHY THEY DID WHAT THEY DID,,,I T WAS AMAZING TV,,IT WAS YOUNG AND RESTLESS THE WAY BILL BELL MEANT IT TO BE

Can’t Wait to see it!

I just watched it! Oh my gosh I almost cried the Abbotts together at family breakfast in the beautiful Abbott home again and Tracy is back YIPPI! So happy to see her now if they could restore the Newman house for Christmas the way it was wouldn’t that be nice. I can’t wait to see the tree up at the Abbott home.

I agree, Nikki. But, Jack is such a spoil-sport. He has such a short memory….plus, I am so sick of his sanctimonious attitude.
I hope those long-ago feelings of days gone by will once again overwhelm us.
I remember the big to-do when everyone came down to breakfast…..sitting down to a sumptuous table…..could almost smell the freshly baked muffins, scones and eggs Benedict; as Mamie greeted them wiping her hands on her apron.

Hope another soap hires him. Very watchable actor.

ENJOYED A GOOD LOOKING NEW FACE……SHOULD HAVE PAIRED HIM WITH ABBY…..NOW BACK TO THE SAME OLD PAIRINGS….GOOD LUCK…..Y&R LOSS WILL BE SOME ONES GAIN.

Any actor that enters into Y&R who is Not an Abbott or Newman is always written as a tool and soon to be gotten rid of IF they don’t leave on their own..

Michael was smart and left before he was let go..
Only characters written into the 2 families will have a good chance of staying on.
Not a Newman or Abbott, they will be used little and with no real purpose, just filler.

I agree SuOOOO, I think its a shame because he fit in so nicely and him & Victoria we’re hot together but they had to go ruin it because they want her with Billy. I don’t know why they couldn’t have had him hook up with Abby or Marah or for that matter since Steve Burton is leaving let Travis hook up with Sharon. Dam why do they keep looking for actors/actresses and bring them in and dump them? Can’t wait for the new writers maybe they’ll bring him back. So happy to have Tracy Abbott back but I bet it wont be long before she gets the boot as well.

since steve burton is leaving maybe they will rehire michael muhney to play as adam newman again maybe more people would watch it again if adam newman is back. he is probly everybody favorite character on the show. i don’t watch it anymore because adam is gone.

Sally’s purge of Pratt’s horrorific writing & Phelps lingering stench can only spell better times ahead for Y&R.

YES!

Hope this correction falls under my comment…

I like how the actor came off in a video clip interview conducted by Michael (Fairman). Was also surprised he had such a short run. He’d make a great addition over at GH. I know…we don’t need more characters. But if…

What a class act!

Sorry see you go maybe you will come back one day seen you other things on TV your a good actor.May your next adventure be great for.

Maybe he can come back to Y&R as the new Adam! Or maybe they can fire Jason Thompson as Billy, rehire him as the new Adam while that Travis guy comes back as the new Billy! That way Victoria gets her ex back, Chelsea gets Adam, and no one gets hurt or looses their job!

i like the new billy. jason thompson is good as his character. they should hire michael muhney as the new adam. i wish Justin Hartley would come back as adam. he is my favorite actor. justin hartley’s new show will be coming back on in january. he would have space to come back to the young and the restless. but he doesn’t want to return to the young and the restless.

Travis was not a character for the long term. Unfortunately, some big changes are likely for Y&R with the new creative team. Talent will keep Mr. Roark working, for sure.

Adam is not needed or Chelsea or Chloe be gone!

i don’t agree. adam is needed. chloe should be gone. chelsea is my 4 favorite character. i hate chloe and hated what she did to her own friend and what she did to adam . her friend’s husband

While Roark wasn’t an extremely outstanding actor (he’s no Billy Miller!), the writings of Chuck Pratt was MAKING the role of Travis into the new Billy Miller/Billy Abbott without actually having the real Miller playing the part. When they had Travis do goofy faces & making Victoria laugh in the bathroom while she was “discussing business” with Victor? That was a pure Billy Miller moment in my eyes. l honestly believe he was hired by Phelps to appease fans who still clamor for Miller, but as with Burton, it failed to “take.” Mal Young stated he would ker actors worth keeping. Guess Roarke & Burton just didn’t make the grade…

Keep. Keep actors worth keeping. Sorry. Fumble fingers. 🙂

Please bring back Tracy Abbott permanently.

The flirty and fun scenes he had with Vicki were nice, but the two of them as a
forever couple never seemed likely. Really liked the actor, wish him the best!

My feelings exactly, Nanci.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE 16,000th Episode?

The 16,000th episode will feature Jason Morgan returning to the town of Port Charles, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) reuniting, and a new surgeon, Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) joining the staff of ‘General Hospital.’
