In a tough episode of All My Children, Monday’s installment of the beloved series (available on Hulu and iTunes), had more than enough drama to have you hanging on to your seats!

Debbi Morgan (Angie) showed once again why she is a Daytime Emmy winner in moving moments when Jesse (Darnell Williams) comes clean to Angie about the plight of her missing daughter, Cassandra (Sal Stowers)!  And then we are taken for a look at the world of human sex trafficking, as Cassandra is drugged and being forced to drink to loosen her up so she can be useful to Yuri and Vlad inside the Gentlemen’s Club!

Cara (Lindsay Hartley) reveals what she did with her and David’s (Vincent Irizarry) baby!  Yes, she says she had an abortion!  JR is diagnosed with Retrograde Amensia, and cannot recall the night of the shooting five years ago.  AJ (Eric Nelsen) goes to visit his dad and JR does not recognize him, devastating AJ!  Meanwhile, Bianca (Eden Riegel) is concerned what will happen if Miranda (Denyse Tontz) finds out she was the product of her rape by Michael Cambias many years ago!

Watch today’s AMC below!  Then let us know what you thought of the sex-trafficking story? Cara aborting her and David’s baby?  And, JR’s medical diagnosis!

Great episode! This story is rather engaging. Two weeks ago, I had no interest in Cassadra, but she’s already becoming one of my favorites. All because of the strong writing and especially to Sal Stowers, who is amazing!!! How surreal that the Cleveland story broke when it did. I had no idea that things like this happened. Hats off to Agnes Nixon.

Tales from the Darkside…OLTL and AMC! Good or Bad…depends on how you look at it! After nearly 50 years of watching soaps im nearly done! GH has been a bit boring the last week and at times felt like two different soaps…too many characters at the moment…but now seems to be improving with todays episode. GH is the only serial left that keeps me a soap fan. OLTL showed promise but hasnt really hooked me…ill tune in once in awhile hoping for improvement and hopefully some storys will be resolved…like what happen to Victor for the full year he was kidnapped and why no one is investigating it( like the recent relife kidnapping of those 3 ohio women) and what about Tea’s missing brother…no mention of him. plus a few other things. AMC has had some good moments but its not holding my interest…the show needs Tad and Erica!

I understand that human and sex trafficing are a huge problem… but I don’t need or want to see it on daytime or what we are calling “anytime”. Let cable or night time deal with it if they must. I was liking AMC… but may will be skipping through this story line. I don’t need or want that kind of drama. There’s a reason why I like the Cassadine’s so much more. The campy nature of the Ice Princess story line is much more preferable than this painful to watch story line. I hope it is short lived or I might stop watching.

Oh, please-grow up, will you? I’m in no way defending sex trafficking, but this is the stuff we were promised. Could you not handle domestic violence storylines, either? The world is a strange place-deal with it

Troy… the lovely thing about life… and this site… is that I can have my opinions and emotions and you… may have yours too!

You can always skim past that part if you are so uncomfortable with it.Before you know it Cassandra will have a new and hopefully happier story.

This is characteristic of All My Children. They’re always the 1st soap and touch the real life stories of today. If you’re an AMC fan you already know that.

Great show today! Love the pace @ which the stories are building. Keep up the great work. I’m excited to see the show every day!

The cast of AMC is bringing it! So many good performances. Cassandra’s storyline is gritty and intense and I love that. I know some fans are complaining that the show is going too far with the content but soaps have always been suggestive. It’s just that now they don’t have to be so watered down. To the fans who are complainig if you want G rated shows watch the disney channel.

I don’t think that Cara aborted the baby, I think the baby was put up for adoption or she has the baby in the care of relatives.
As for Cassandra’s story, they should have introduced the character to us first, or rather re-introduced the character to us (since it’s a re-cast) and let us get to know and like the character and THEN bring on the Kidnap caper. I think it was thrust at us a little too quickly, but I do love Angie and Jesse as played by Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams and I realize they need (and can handle) doing heavy dramatic scenes. Debbi Morgan is one of the very best actresses in Daytime TV, though this is no longer just “daytime” TV.
As far as HuLu Plus, I shouldn’t complain but there are more commercials than I was hoping for (considering that some of us choose to pay for it) and if I see one more Red Balloon Commercial I am going to barf.
One last note, ALL MY CHILDREN needs Michael Knight as Tad Martin for he is the glue that holds Pine Valley together, somehow. He should be helping Zach and Jesse and he should be supporting Dixie while she is trying to help J.R. make some kind of recovery.

“ALL MY CHILDREN” is back!

1. Vincent Irizzary – “Thank You”.
2. Debbi Morgan – BIG 2nd. Huge.

AJ – give props to = huge endoresement.

AJ – per Adam… is showing his Spirit – his chutzpa??? as it were….

AJ & Miranda are going to work. this pair… as best friends…. grew up brother and sister… a potential pairing in the works… I can’t complain… ie: demographics… these two can act.

AJ is ? the son of Miranda… and JR. his grandfathers are Adam and Dr. David Hayward… WOW ! ? ! ? talk about potential for growing a pair… LOL… this is a lot of drama… even AJ was at the hospital… liking that his father was in a coma…. less drama for him to deal with. i’d be angry too… if my father: killed my mother… just saying…. this is a lot of story coming to nuAMC.

didn’t you love how AJ stood up and fought for Miranda… AJ is going to figure in so many plotlines… and I believe this kid: will deliver. for what it’s worth… having each other to keep each other grounded and sane… AJ and Miranda have grown on me… in the new two weeks… AJ moreso than Miranda has a lot to digest… what’s his life going to be like now…. that JR is awake.

Dr David – wow… what must that be like…. his beloved Miranda has been gone 5 years… and he must have taken some “comfort” in knowing that JR was coma’d for 5 years… and now awakes….. ? thats a lot of unresolved feelings… to fester… all these years…

David showed genuine concern and care with AJ…

David is all over the canvas… and rightly so…. the catalyst for what drives nuAMC… and I absolutely LOVE that the writers continued with the friendship/bond/medically driven pair of Angie and David… like he told Jesse… something to the effect… Angies in my corner…

David and Cara…. what a way to end the week…. i think his and Cara’s “love” child of 4-5 years is still alive…. and that Cara is still in love with David… it’s just a matter of time.. this will give David that “normalcy” he covets?

one thing about David… he’s SMART medically… he and Angie appreciate that about each other… respect.

Miranda – teenage angst…. ie: my mom is a lesbian… LOL…. that’s OK… but… in order to stay relevent…. and we all know… Miranda loves, adores, and cares, about her mother… ie: like Will’s DAYS. this is a storyline… that should be shared. the sweet and enduring love this mother/daughter duo share… is touching….

what if? Zach is in fact the biological father… and not his brother? or am I getting my wires crossed? this would really give semblence and meaning to Zach… a grounding of being a father…. Miranda would love him. she doesn’t know who her father is.

Petey – isn’t it so nice to see an ofspring of Palmers? Opal per her words… loves him to pieces….

Cara – please gain 5 pounds…. more like 10… the camera will love you…. you’ve always had the talent as an actor.

long and short of it… Angie and Jessie – Jessie… stand up and take your place… what a treat to see you romancing your wife and fatherly love for…. Cassandra.

JR – what demons will plague him…. will he be in a wheel chair… what will life be like… with David Hayward and his son… AJ.

there’s so much to anticipate.

Zach is already a father. He’s Ian’s dad and he raised Spike, and yet no one on AMC chooses to remember that. It has been a huge part of who Zach is and now this version of AMC is erasing that. Zach doesn’t need to be grounded by suddenly discovering he’s Miranda’s dad. He’s already a dad and yet AMC chooses to ignore it. When someone tells me that AMC honors and remembers history, I have to laugh at how they’ve turned Zach Slater, family guy who would die for his family, into…this person I don’t know, about whom viewers forget he’s already raised two boys as part of team Slater. Shameful stuff on AMC where Zach’s concerned.

I hear you… I thought, for nuAMC.. they could possibly have Miranda as….

so Zach could have something his own….

since it may well be.. that Kendell and her children.. his…. are MIA.

Well, I said I would give it a couple of episodes before I gave a definitive opinion and now I’ve done that. I read other people’s comments and now I believe that people do drink Kool Aid or really have no lives whatsoever. This show absolutely stinks!!! It was an effort to watch. Save Vincent, Debbie and Darnell, and a highly wasted Thor, unbearable to watch. The stories are thin, very, very thin and very, very boring. A bunch of dull and boring teeny boppers and all of you old timers, left over from our beloved old AMC, buying into this crap and even worse, the crappy writing. Guess I will have to eat it or eat something if this makes it, but I doubt it will. I am an adult. If I wanted to see this kind of crap I’d watch the CW and get the real thing or Extra or etc., etc. As I’ve said many times before, who told J. Vilasuso he could act. He has the worst way of speaking and is grossly unappealing. Cara used to be gorgeous but she really looks tired this go-around. Sorry. I think she is gorgeous but the old make-up and hair people are obviously not here and it shows. The new JR is just a gigantic piece of white bread. His son, boring. Eden’s daughter, take voice lessons and stop sounding like you’re 12 years old. Which also brings to mind that this was jumping 5 years ahead. All of these kids were what? Between 5-7 years old. Do the math. Now they are in high school??? Prospect Park, get someone on payroll who can count. The sets are horrid. The hangout looks like a glorified office. The outdoors of the cafe’ look like a set. I could go on and on and on…and I think I already have. But in a word – BUMMER. This is horrid. Well, I came, I saw and now I can leave.

I totally agree with you. I still plan to watch for a couple of months just to see if it improves. I have noticed that a lot of good shows have slow starts. The original AMC cast still has chemistry. The new actors appear to be fish out of water. Chemistry takes time. I feel like I am watching a nickelodeon show. The script sounds like a 12 tear old wrote it most the time. They have really dumbed the show down. I am glad to see that the cursing has stopped. I just fast forward through AJ and Miranda . AJ and Miranda are like flies flying around your head….they are annoying and you want to swat them a fly swatter. The sex trafficking story is interesting to me. But I agree, this is not even remotely the AMC that we loved. It took me awhile to move on when AMC was cancelled but I did. If I don’t see the quality that AMC had before, I will let it go. As they say, sometimes you just can’t go home again.
Life is short, there are unpleasant tasks that we must do, watching bad shows isn’t one of them.

If you don’t like the show fine but don’t trash others that do. I think AMC is awesome and so do many other people. I’m not a “kool aid drinker”. Just because you say something is bad it doesn’t mean it’s a fact.

This is ridiculous. The sets look amazing just as nice or better than anything on GH and other network soaps. The new kids do take a little getting used to but they are ok.I’ld rather watch these stories than the ones with stupid satin slayers, poison peanut butter banana pancakes ,or Jane Erica’s aweful twin.It will be nice when Erica and Tad return.Looking forward to Miranda and Erica interaction.

You are so far off the Mark!

I give AMC high marks for being a 1/2 hour show…

you mention… save for… Vincent, Debbi, and Darnell…. well … they pretty much fill 1/2 of that 1/2 hour.

and… AJ and Miranda… are demographics driven… and… i believe AJ, has the talent to carry off huge story… which is where it looks like it’s going. and yes… sometimes it would appear that Miranda.. is, shall we say… imitating Erica…at that younger age…

for the two week run….

it’s still better than most all of prime time and everything else.

lets support our soaps.

They just broke up a real sex trafficking story in Boston MA. they kept the girls from other countries . It happens. Usually they are smarter than to take the police captains daughter.but without that.no story. I hadn’t watched AMC in years.Since Miranda was a new baby kidnapped.etc, That Babe cleared us all fro watching her being best friends with Bianca and misunderstood ??? YUCK turned it offI like Miranda and aj. I love Jesse and Angie returned for a while because they did, but tiic ruined it again. I am giving the show a chance, didn’t think I would I don’t like watching Cassandra being tortured but I just tune it out. I like Zack and I think the only vet I don’t like is Dixie never did .so Dr David never gets his does he. You know the baby is alive somewhere and David will pull something to get her. She should have said it was a girl but it really was a boy and he would never find it.

I was probably living under a rock because i had NO IDEA that AMC and OLTL were returning. So you can imagine my surprise when i was flipping through HULUplus and saw the new eppies. My first. Inclination was to immediately tune into OLTL and see what was happening. I watched the first episode half way through and decided to tune out. To be fair I wasnt really drawn into it at first. The opening was kind of lackluster. Snoop lion’s call back “brand new staaaaaart” made me start going around all day singing “brand new faaaaaart!” I did enjoy the opening with vicki and clint. Was happy to see dorian. The club scenes were too meh for me. That being said, i did tune in on the second week and thats when things really took off for me and i started getting excited about this show again. It amazes me how fast the storylines are going. That being said i was really takenby surprise as to how hooked i have become on day one about AMC. I felt like i was at home right away. Bianca and AJ are the first reason why i kept tuning in. The opening really felt warm and inviting. The graphics could use some work but the song makes you feel like youre really coming back to your family on thanksgiving or christmas. I was disappointed to not see erica on the marquee. I can tell you that i have been watching AMC 2.0 from the staaaaaart and it has been fit into my morning ritual. Wake up, AMC, brush teeth, shower… OLTL i save for at night before bed. I am so glad that these shows are back and i have missed them because its something me and my mother used to watch together all the time and since shes no longer here its like having a part of her with me whenever im in Pine Valley and Llanview. Thanks Prospect Park (:

What a nice story, thank you.

well said Justin – AMC Fan here.

i never had the time before… to watch OLTL… and now i am…

this 1/2 hour format is not bad.

GO Pine Valley’ites.

I agree patrick. Love that its half an hour long. It somehow makes me want more of it. I think its a smart move on their part. AMC fan all the way!

Thank you Kathy for the validation. I didn’t comment in order to ‘trash’ anyone, tho it seems that way. America is already dumbed down enough, we don’t need such banal shows to further this movement. This kind of show is from back in the 80’s. And in the 80’s, I thought it was horrid as well. Dallas, Dynasty, etc. And women had to be in front of their TV’s in order to not miss a nano-second of those awful shows. This is the same thing, except different demographic and no glamour. You said it, ‘you can’t go home again’. It’s a sign of growth when you know the time has come to move away from something that is only existing to take up empty hours in your day. Read a good book, heaven knows there are so very, very many. Take a walk, look at nature. But watching this piece of drek? I won’t do that to myself. It is in the name of my own self-growth as a person to NOT watch this or anything like this. How about Nat. Geo? As I said before, I love my characters from the original AMC and I hope they can make some money and run. Run as far and as fast as you can, audition for Broadway, Off-Broadway, community theatre. Just don’t prostitute yourselves too long for this gigantic waste of time. And for my favorite actors who didn’t sign on – SMART MOVE. This is a real career killer.

I like AMC from years ago. It had a mix of younger actors and more of the ones that have been on for years like(Adam , Brook, etc…) Now it seems to me the young actors have it over the older actors. Not a fan of AJ…I alway’s liked Jessie,Angie,Jackson,Brook,Adam,Tad,Dixie,Palmer,The Martin Family,Tara , Phil etc! And Trevor was my favorite (Uncle Porkchop). Maria ,Julia. Which some these actors are no longer on . That’s when I really enjoyed AMC. It’s okay now but, it isn’t the same. I think they have it aimed at a younger crowd now.

Did you notice that Kitty (Kelly) returned from the 70’s to play Evelyn?

I have.

The first episodes are all about set up and catch up.I believe they were good the first week and will only get better.

I hear you scott. Theyre setting up story really well and i cant hardlywait to see where they take things.

To all the naysayers, go watch something else.

Am loving the new AMC! A mix of the old along with the new. Yes Miranda can appear to be a childish brat but you need one of those on any soap lol. AJ the lovelorn boy who grew up with her, a kind heart but a hot head more of his dad in him then he would admit. Thorsten always a keeper but need Kendall and those boys back!!!! Angie/Jessie forever with each other in spite of how Jessie will still keep truths from her every time. Ok nothing changed there. Cassandra did not know nothing of this new girl playing her but am loving it. Hated the prissy old one anyway lmao. And David can take more of him any day , anytime always drama at best. Anyone who keeps trashing this on this comment board and comparing to 80’s shows etc and telling us all not to like it, to do something else should take their own advice. If you are not watching it and do not like it then why waste the time to come here to complain losers!

Everyone has a right to their opinion. What you are hearing is the sadness that the AMC that we loved is so different. We tolerate a lot in the soap opera world. My husband was watching AMC with me and he was wondering who Dixie, JR, and AJ were. When I explained that it was a mother, son, and grandson, he started laughing. I am trying to ignore the fact that Dixie has an 18 year old grandson. I have watched AMC from the beginning so I have a right to state my opinion. I will continue to watch and wait for Erika and Tad to return and see if it improves. There are so many changes to AMC that it makes it very hard for us to adapt. To say that we should be happy just because it is back is ridiculous. What we have is a new soap that is called AMC and takes place in Pine Valley and has some of the original cast. I do realize that time is needed to get these soaps going, so I will give it time but if becomes the AJ and Miranda show with Jane being the cool adult/teacher, I will not keep watching. It just won’t be of interest to me. Glad you like it.

I cant believe anyone is putting all my children and one life to live down. I am so excited everyday to wake up, and watch both of these fantastic shows with my son. He loves them too. I only wish they could be one hour shows again. They were taken off of abc, because no one was watching them, and now out of some miracle, we get them back again. Yes, their somewhat different, yet also very much the same. As far as recast goes, even when they were on the network , we would have to deal with recast, and new storylines. Thats what soaps are all about. I think these two shows are doing great with the storylines. I,m not a young kid either, I,m 55 years old, and I,m still loving my soaps. I think they are going to be around for many, many, more years. Just keep watching.

Mark Consuelos Mourns the Loss of His Father

Saul Consuelos, the father of All My Children alum and Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos (ex0-Mateo, AMC), has died. During an emotional moment on this mornings, April 6 edition of the syndicated talk show, Mark shared, that his dad, “passed away peacefully” back on March 23 following a long illness.

His wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) paid tribute to her her father-in-law expressing, he was, “the greatest person I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He really is so symbolic of everything you are.”

Kelly and Mark’s children, Joaquin, Michael and Lola Consuelos are said to be taking this extremely hard. Ripa added, “This is the first loss they’ve ever experienced in their lives. And I said, ‘By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents. You got to grow up (with grandparents). You got to have deep, meaningful conversations (with them).”

In another moment, Mark reflected on his dad. “It’s funny, I used to make a joke about my dad … if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch. There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures and I learned so much. If he was fixing something in the house, he’d make me watch and do it. And I didn’t know at the time why he was doing that. But now at the house, I’m able to do at least half of the stuff that he did. I learned the most by just watching him.”

Mark added that Saul Consuelos came to the U.S. from Mexico in his early teens and served our county for decades, detailing, he “Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his Masters while I was a kid.  He loved his country so much, If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”

In a very heart-tugging moment, Consuelos shared that now its important they be there for his mother, Camilla. “We gotta take care of mom. We’re trying to convince my mom to move to New York. She’s such a character, she’s stubborn. What do you think, a cooking segment here on Fridays with Camilla?”

Now below, watch the very touching and emotional moments as Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa mourn the loss of Saul Consuelos.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Visits ‘The View’ Where Hosts Sidestep Controversial ‘Buffy’ Reboot Axing, But Talk ‘All My Children’

Published

on

By

On yesterday’s March 17 episode of The View, All My Children alum, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), was the special guest. Since Monday, Gellar has been the subject of a hot-button issue since about the surprising turn of events that the highly-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, in which she stars, and which was directed in the pilot by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, was no longer moving forward.

Gellar‘s appearance on the ABC morning talk show was devoid of any mention of Hulu cancelling its planned Buffy: New Sunnydale, in which Sarah was set to appear along with Ryan Kiera Armstrong. However, Gellar did discuss her new movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures.

It should be noted that both Hulu and Searchlight Pictures are owned by The Walt Disney Company, while The View is produced by ABC News, which is also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

During the awkward interview, when it became clear the ‘Buffy’ reboot topic was off the table, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, talked about the “intense fight scenes” that have become a staple of her TV and film career starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

The ladies of The View also brought up Sarah’s beginnings on All My Children as Kendall Hart (1993-1995), showing a scene with her and her on-screen mother, the iconic Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci. The discussion sprung out of another All My Children alum, Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) winning the Oscar this past Sunday for Best Actor for his role in Sinners. The View’s Joy Behar was quick to point out with Gellar, the All My Children alums that have gone on to great fame.

Previously on Monday, Gellar opened up to PEOPLE about being blindsided before while at the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. “I got the call as we were stepping onto stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for Hamnet. For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… that says something.”

She went to say, “We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” Deadline reports that “multiple sources” identified the executive as Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich.

“I loved the duality that we had with this new, younger slayer who was where Buffy was when the show started, and then we would pick up with where Buffy was now,” Gellar told People about the setup.  However, according also to Deadline “After the pilot was completed and delivered, according to multiple sources, Hulu’s main note was that it played too young, with some indicating that the streamer also felt the show was too “small.”’

In the rewrite, sources also told the outlet that the writers did not take big enough swings, so they set out to do a rewrite it again. The last revision was more adult, featuring a lot more of Gellar’s Buffy, and was described as a more of a streaming show than a network one. When all is said and done there is hope that another Buffy IP will be up and running within the next couple of years.

You can check out Sarah Michelle Gellar’s full segment on The View below. Now let us know, bummed there is no Buffy reboot? What do you think about how this high profile Hollywood saga was side-stepped on the morning show? Did you love Sarah as the original Kendall Hart on All My Children?
