Two casting items from the Music City drama Nashville which returns for its third season on Wednesday night, September 24th at 10PMET on ABC!

First, Dancing with the Stars professional dancing champion, Derek Hough will play a role in the new season!  The five-time ballroom dance competition show champ will appear on the ABC drama as Noah West!  Hough is set for a multi-episode story arc.

According to TV Guide, ” Noah is a movie star who crosses paths with Rayna (Connie Britton) & Co. after he’s cast in a biopic about a famous country singer. Whether or not he’ll be doing any romancing while he’s in town is still unknown.”

Elsewhere TV Line is confirming a tweet sent out by actress Judith Hoag, who plays Tandy, the sister of Rayna James on the series.  Hoag revealed she is existing season 3 of Nashville after the second episode that airs on October 1st.

Apparently, Tandy will not be killed-off, but instead written out.  TV Line is reporting that, “the door is being left open for Tandy to return at some point, though that seems unlikely (at least in the near future).”

So what do you think about Derek Hough joining Nashville?  Who do you think his character of Noah West might be romantically linked with?  And are you sad to hear that Tandy is being written-out?  Comment below!

Interesting about Derek. Tandys character had no where to go.

Hmmm he is not an actor.. must be a desperate ploy for ratings…

I catch that show occassionally, but will watch just to watch Derek! Nice that he can maybe do some actiing… he needs a fall back for when getting older will make dancing hurt too much! 😀

Love Judith Hoag. NASHVILLE never seemed to make Rayna’s family stories compelling. Hoped for more with the mystery of their mother’s death. And believe the mistake was not killing off Teddy. That character and the stories have been snoozers. Hopefully Tandy can return. Always thought she could provide the support Rayna needs. And maybe be a player in business plots about Highway 65. NASHVILLE does have a lot of characters, many of interest, but the stories are not deep or suspenseful.

Love Derek. Multi-talented guy….dance, musician…I have no doubt he’ll be a a great addition to an already great show.

Always hate to see characters go even if they’re background players; Rayna’s running out of family! (But I’m sure it’s about the budget…bring in the new…discard the old…it’s a wash!)

General Hospital

WATCH: Jonathan Jackson + Enation’s New Music Video “The Days Are Evil”

Five-time Daytime Emmy winner from General Hospital, and former Nashville star, Jonathan Jackson (Ex-Lucky, Ex-Avery) has released a new music video for the new single “The Days Are Evil” along with his band Enation.

The music video features shots of Jackson in a very dark incarnation, and the track will also appear on Jackson + Enation’s upcoming album due out later this fall, Ultraviolet Empire.

Jonathan says of the new album: “Our new album, Ultraviolet Empire, is a throwback record. It’s a record we played together live in the studio. Most of the songs are one take -just letting the band play.  It was amazing playing with our co-producer Colin Linden and capturing something so raw and visceral.”

This will be the band’s follow-up to their 2017 album  Anthems for the Apocalypse and their successful 2018 tour in Europe opening for Echo & The Bunnymen,

Check out the music video featuring Jonathan released this week below.

Then, let us know, should Lucky return to Port Charles for the Nurses’ Ball with his band and play a tune off the new album next spring? Will Jonathan come home to GH for a guest appearance? Will you be checking out the new music from him in the coming months? Comment below.

The last 36 hours have seen some of your favorite primetime dramas renewed and others canceled; several of which feature former or current soap stars.  ABC has renewed for its upcoming sixth season How to Get Away with Murder.  During its fifth season, the series ranked as the No. 1 program in Thursday’s 10 PM slot in key demos: Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34.

How To Get Away With Murder stars Viola Davis as Annalise Keating, a law professor at a prestigious Philadelphia university who, with five of her students, becomes entwined in a murder plot.  The ensemble cast includes: Rome Flynn (Ex-Zende of The Bold and the Beautiful) who plays the key role of Gabriel Maddox.

NASHVILLE To Become Broadway Musical

Looks like the Music City drama, Nashville, originally on ABC and then on CMT, has more than nine lives! Now the popular soap is headed to the stage and Broadway after six seasons on the small screen.

The show is set to have a musical adaptation with 10-time Tony Award winner Scott Delman (American IdiotRagtimeBook of MormonHello, Dolly!Fun HomeMean Girls) in charge.  In addition, Delman will serve as lead producer of the show and he has acquired the live theatrical rights from Lionsgate and ABC Studios.

Nashville, with its complex, relatable characters and sweeping emotional gestures, has all of the narrative elements that I look for in great theatrical source material,” Delman said in a statement. “From that rich DNA, we will be building an original story with entirely original music, written by major Nashville and Broadway songwriters.  We are particularly excited to deliver Broadway’s first score of true contemporary country music — a genre that has exploded with mainstream audiences in recent years. Lionsgate has a treasure-trove of sterling IP, and I’m honored to be a part of this new phase of their live entertainment division.”

Additional information on the upcoming musical, including production dates and a creative team, is expected to be announced shortly.  Now the question becomes; will some of its beloved series stars be in the Broadway rendition of the series?
