Huh??? This came out of left field. What happened to Darnell?

Character definitely needed a retooling. He was just a dry nag. Constantly preaching with no appeal or chemistry with any leading ladies especially after Hillary died
Me thinks a triangle was planned with him/ hillary/ devon but shelved after Mishaels departure
In the young stud category i d rather Josh bring back his creation Tyler. Especially now that Abby will be single again. He had charisma and looks for days. Shame he and his sis Leslie were axed when a new regime came in. JFP.
Speaking of axing new families created once a new regime takes over I really hope now that Arturo is leaving, that the Rosales stay on. I thouroughly enjoy Rey, Lola and Mia. Mia is a vixen Genoa city needs and Lola/ Kyle/Summer triangle is hot!

Hopefully this guy can act! Now lets replace that robot who plays Devon!

I’m sorry, Darnell wasn’t doing it for me. There was no fire, no personality, no presence in his performance. Otherwise, I’ll miss Arturo; Mia and Rey can go. Lola is a gem with Kyle. Finally, can we update the opening? Some of the newer contract players have been on for a year and their portraits are still not featured in the opening.

Why bother recasting a character who has been in search of a story since he came to town?

Now we all know every soap needs at least one doctor who can basically do everything–GC has been missing that since that guy who was Abby’s husband left town– personally I would love for Olivia to be that doctor instead of her son.

Not sure about why Tonya Lee Williams isnt returning for Kristoffs memorial. I know coming from Canada she does alot of work behind the scenes up here, however im hoping something can happen because she is the quad of the legendary Winters/ Barber era of y n r. A young Liv and Dru at odds over Nate and Neil then Malcolm are everything. She belongs to mentor the younger set a la Tracy for the Abbotts

Hi Damien, I read on another website that Tonya Lee Williams was out of the country on another project and that is why she couldn’t be part of Kristoffs memorial…

Nate was created by Mattel. Meet Super Kung Fu Nate!! He’s an oncologist, a brain surgeon, and a family physician. He also has a black belt in karate, he is a yoga instructor, a meditation guru and an all around great guy!

Good..
The current Nathan is an emotionless android..
Hopefully, this Nathan will be totally different..

looking forward to seeing the change-up ..

Yes, this guy looks like he’s got an edgy thing about him. Doesn’t look the type to be hand holding the ladies, just cause they are having a bad day. Wonder if he’ll be interested in the new doctor soon to be Devon’s guest, along with Ana,s father.

I loved this guy on Greenleaf……I loved Greenleaf

this character needed a reboot

Kay

The characters mother needs to make an appearance this might help I heard the actress could not make it work for a few episodes she needs to be there for Neil’s death just like they screwed up with the funeral for Katherine her granddaughter Mac needed to be there and even Tucker though I hated that storyline this pettiness of EP not liking certain actors and can’t do it right because of it ruins the show the fans deserve better.

john

Blame the writers, not the actor. he was given no storyline that made any sense what so ever.

Oh, thank ye gods!! Please…I invoke you to put some fire ‘neath new Nate’s scrubs!!!!!!
And, what’s up with Victoria? She’s going through her middle-age crisis? Holy moly!! I am not into this lurid behavior—sex wih a complete stranger? She should know better!! no sense!!
I would love for nuNate to be paired with Victoria—–NO BILLY–NO CANE—-please!! Perhaps Nate can ground her “knees” and brain.

I had the same thoughts. Like mother like daughter, but Nicki would be appalled, and most likely not cheering Victoria on. One good thing though, she hasn’t taken up with Cain. I will really be upset if they ever get together, now that he and Lily are parting ways. I kind of see why Victoria would want to kick up her heels a bit, after dealing with J.T and Billy. What a jerk, following her to Vegas. I wonder what Victor was doing there? Probably hiring another thug to take care of someone, ala Phyllis and Marco.

Just saw the new and improved Dr. today. I really like him, and very good looking. Can’t wait to hear from others.

This new Nate is WAYYYYY better than the last one. They are pairing him with Abby and I am feeling the heat already! Great casting!

Thinking the same thing today. Depending on your age, you may not know him, but this new Nate reminds me of the young Johnny Mathis. I really don’t care for new Nate’s hair.

‘Edge of Night’ Mainstay Forrest Compton Dies Following Complications From COVID-19

Sad news to report this Monday.  The longtime star of CBS’ and then ABC’s The Edge of Night, Forrest Compton. has passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Forrest died on Sunday at the age of 94.

His death was reported and confirmed by Compton’s friends and an article in the Shelter Island Reporter.

Photo: CBS

As Edge of Night and longtime daytime fans know, Forrest played Monticello’s district attorney, Mike Karr.  He played this key role from 1971 until the show’s cancellation in 1984.  The show was originally titled “The Edge of Night” and eventually just became “Edge of Night”.   The soap which was steeped in murder mysteries ran on CBS from 1956–1975 and on ABC from 1975–1984,   In addition, Forrest along with his on-screen wife, Ann Flood (Nancy Karr) were one of the most popular duos in daytime.

Not only did Compton appear on EON, but he also had soap roles on As the World Turns, One Life to Live and All My Children.   In primetime, Forrest was best known for his role on Gomer Pyle: USMC opposite  Jim Nabors and Frank Sutton as Lieutenant Colonel Edward Gray.

In a heartwarming story where fan meets actor and helps him out (according to the Shelter Island Reporter) Compton was only slated to appear in two episodes a week for the next 13 weeks on The Edge of Night, when he needed an apartment in New York City near the studio, so when he heard about a one-bedroom on East 72nd he went to see Al, the super.  Forrest later learned that Al was such a devotee of  The Edge of Night that he locked his office door every day at 2 p.m. to watch uninterrupted. When Forrest mentioned that he had just been hired to play Mike Karr, the super said, “You’re getting that apartment.”’

Sharon Gabet who starred as Raven on Edge of Night, posted on Facebook, a tribute and remembrance of her former co-star: “Woody, as he was affectionately known to all of us on The Edge of Night, was a master professional, hilarious, smart, kind and gentle. I spoke with him a couple years ago on his birthday and he was active and happy in his retirement. Rest in peace, Woody, and give hugs and kisses to Larkin, Lois, Dennis, Nick, Joel, Irving and all the other EDGE alumni up there.  THE story about Woody. He was on EON when they were LIVE. It was brutal, but Woody was one of the best “straight face” men in the business. So he is doing a scene with Nancy his wife (the glorious Ann Flood – another “straight face” master). He walks in the kitchen and sits down and his line was supposed to be “Gee, it’s hard to get up in the morning.” as Nancy gave him his coffee. Instead, Mike Karr says on national TV, “Gee it’s hard to get IT up in the morning, Nancy.” There was pandemonium among the crew during the commercial break as you can imagine.”

Now below, watch the opening title sequence fro the The Edge of Night over the years, many of which feature Forrest as Mike Karr at the very opening or at the end as one of the series most well-known and beloved characters.

May Flights of Angels Wing You to Your Rest my Dear Friend. Your bigger than life, gregarious personality will leave a hole in our hearts forever.
