Days of our Lives fans get set for a seismic set of circumstances that will shake up the Salem canvas starting this week! As previewed in a new On-Air On-Soaps video interview with James Scott (EJ Dimera) there are major explosive scenes between he and Alison Sweeney (Sami) about to air this week and throughout November Sweeps that will impact many lives on the canvas.
Now after the jump watch the exciting DAYS promo as a terrified Sami and an upset EJ try to deal with the fact that their son, Johnny has gone missing! Is it possible that another one of their children is the middle of kidnapping scheme? Or is something else going on here?

‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali
Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.

In a metaphor for the start of the school year and their upcoming anniversary in November, Days of our Lives revealed its “Class of Season 62,” with a very clever yearbook montage on their social media handles, welcoming new cast members, while paying respect to the veterans and “class”-iying the other characters in Salem.
The official Days of our Lives Instagram account shared on the posting, “The Class of Salem Season 62 has arrived. Familiar faces, new names and plenty of personality. Flip through our yearbook for a peek at this year’s class.”
Let’s take a look at how they broke it all down: The Salem Yearbook starts with saying “another unforgettable season,” with some group pics, and then we dovetail into Salem’s new class which features: Sydney Malakeh (Sydney DiMera), Brandon Butler (Mason Whitfield), Angelica Nero (Victoria Kiriakis), Cole Gersmeyer (Thomas DiMera) and Lorelei Olivia Mote (Rachel Black).

Next up, are the likes of: Cherie Jimenez (Gabi Hernandez), John-Paul Lavoisier (Philip Kiriakis), Tyler Joseph Andrews (Theo Carver) and LeeAnn Hopkins (Joy Wesley). Then, in the “Drama Club” section are: Dan Feuerriegel (EJ DiMera) and AnnaLynne Cipriani (Cat Greene).
Following the ‘Recess” section with some group snaps, comes “Homeroom Highlights” with: Abigail Klein (Stephanie Johnson), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), Rob Scott Wilson (Alex Kiriakis), Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) and Sal Stowers (Lani Price Grant).
The “Salem Spectator” section features: Conner Floyd (Chad DiMera), Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark), Stowers again, and Ashely Puzemis (Holly Jonas). In the “Afternoon Sweets” section look for: Paul Telfer (Xander Kiriakis) and Linsey Godfey (Sarah Horton), Emily O’ Brien (Gwen Rizchech), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera/Susan Banks), Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), plus Jackée Harry (Paulina Price).
Towards the end of the yearbook, veteran performers such as: Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson), Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson), Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) and Josh Taylor (Roman Brady) are featured, plus Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), James Reynolds (Abe Carver) and Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) and Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Kiraikis) with her on-screen daughter, Linsey Godfrey.
The Salem Yearbook comes to a conclusion noting “Big things happening in Salem” and to tune-in on Peacock, where we also find Jacob Martinez (Javi Hernandez), Maggie Carney (Rita Lesley), and a host of other favorites previewing what’s to come this fall.

‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writers Give Fall 2026 Preview: Marlena and Stefano’s Chess Mystery, The Arrivals of Dante and Sydney, Romance Drama for Sarah and Others
As summer comes to a close with Labor Day weekend, the former Days of our Lives co-head writing duo of Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given their annual fall season preview in episodes taped some 10-11 months ago.
As previously reported this past July, Ryan Quan returned to Days of our Lives and is now co-head writing the show with Ford, while Cwikly is now a consultant. The new co-head writing teams stories will not be seen till late spring/early summer 2027.
So for now, the stories pick up from where we left off with Cwikly and Ford promising via TV Insider, “Fall in Salem is full of twists and turns and secrets and surprises. Dots connect in unexpected ways as seemingly unrelated threads converge.”

CHECKMATE?
In one of the top mystery’s, Marlena is still having troubling memories and she will have another one on the Monday, September 7 episode. Meanwhile, her daughter Belle (Martha Madison) has gotten very close to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and as pictured here, the two smooch while in Italy searching for answers to the chess set that Stefano DiMera gifted th the late John Black and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that has some significance.
The head scribes share, “The (chess board) mystery and its fallout are central to the fall stories. Chad and Belle follow the clues to a discovery that changes both of their families, and Salem, forever. Marlena worries that their investigation/the chess set may be a Pandora’s box that has been opened. And she is right…”
Newcomers are also the order of the day for Cwikly and Ford, this fall. We have already seen the debut as Brandon Butler as Mason Whitfield, and next week you can add as previously reported Sydney Malakeh on the Thursday September 1o episode as Sydney DiMera, followed by the the Monday, September 14 arrival of Franco LoPresti as Dante Vitali.

Paula and Jeanne Marie expressed on the incoming Dante, “The arrival of a stranger who will set the whole town on its ear. The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines.” What will Dante be up to? We know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had mentioned in 2025 she got engaged to the man, but that was off-screen.
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH OR THE ONE YOU WANT?
In the romance department, the triangle between Brady/Sarah/Xander heats up with a very conflicted Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The head writers reveal, “When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) work together to help and protect her. Sarah’s new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love for Xander. Xander risks everything for Sarah.”
In addition look for, “Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoiser) to draw closer as he tries to save the family company and home.”
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will also be returning at some point this fall and she won’t be alone. Who might she bring with her? And from the looks of the Peacock promo for next week’s DAYS, someone is wearing Stefano’s ring around their finger, but who … and how does it all tie in this fall?

So sensitive of Days to feature a violent sex scene between a heroine and the character who once raped her.
Really, I get why TPTB like that pairing in theory (chemistry etc.) but they do everything in their power to make it repulsive to anyonre with a minimum of decency.
No more no less sensitive than Days trying to sell a love story between Nicole and the man who once tried to strangle her to death. I don’t see anyone getting up in arms about that aspect of the EJole pairing in the last few months. Hypocritical much? And besides, you want to judge soap characters and pairings based on real life standards of morals and ethics when these characters never really pay for their crimes anyway? Really?
Just because they did it elsewhere doesn’t make it right this time. Obnoxious much? Ignorant much?
In any case and no matter how someone wants to interpret what happened between EJ and Sami some centuries ago, it was never violent.
There was never morality based in soaps..and if you sit there and judge dont watch.. EJ and Sami were never a normal couple and Sami was never ever a herione go look up her past…..that is what makes them tick..and for EJAMI fans wanting more..

nhuixnhuix, Sami ISN’T a heroine, even during the previous writing regime, heroine’s do not attempt murder on a defenseless man and then stand by and watch her boyfriend throw away his ethics, his job and his sister nor do they put their welfare above the welfare of their son.
Sami and EJ are and always have been a volitile couple, it’s who they are. Their passions run deep from hate and yes, to love. We won’t get the love right away, but I’m tuning in hoping we’ll get it eventually.
I can not wait for Days this week! And, I can’t remember the last time I said that! The interview with James Scott was great too – he and Alison have always brought out the best performances in each other!
WOW!!! That was beyond drama!!!! Way to go James & Alison!!!! These two definitely have the chemistry together on my tv screen. I really hope the writers carry forward with all the soapiness this story line could bring to DOOL!!!!! Prove to me that you new writers want the viewers that have left that you want us to come back!!!

FINALLY!!! I was wondering when this reset was finally going to get some new life breathed into it. Whether you’re a fan of EJ and Sami or not, the repercussions of that kiss will affect so many characters and will definitely stir the pot. This is precisely what a good soap should do. Drama, drama, DRAMA!!! That’s what the viewers need and crave. And what better way than to involve two characters who’ve been dancing around each other for the past 5 years. It’s so wrong but oh so right!
It is also a great opportunity to bring EMMY worthy character Sami Brady on our screens. Were did our favourite villain go? She is much older now and she has kids so I would not expect her to be her immature conniving self. But Sami was never a damsel in distress. She was a strong woman and no one messed with her! I want that character back 🙂
I’m very excited to see all of this very soapy drama unfold between EJ & Sami – more excited than I’ve been about Days in far too long.
James and Alison are sure to provide us with an outstanding, Emmy-worthy performance during the outpouring of emotion that will characterize their upcoming scenes. I know that I will be riveted to the screen and hoping for more interaction between EJ & Sami as the story continues.
I loved the weekly preview! I’ve watched it 5 times already. It’s great to see Ali Sweeney and James Scott get back into their element. They are great at doing the raw and emotionally charged scenes! As for Sami and EJ’s characters, just from that quick hint in the weekly preview, they seeme to blame themselves as much as they do each other for Johnny being missing. I’m excited to see how it all develops! It’s raw, juicy Days!
I love love Jamison. They work so hard and it really pays. I’m really struggling to remember when was the last time I have seen a scene with such dramatic effect in a soap. I really cannot!
EJAMI are the best ever. I love them and I have tuned out for the past few years due to the boring as paint SAFE and the terrible EJOLE. But I cant wait for this and I cant wait to see the ratings go up because of it. EJAMI= Ratings GOLD

They DO have chemistry,, But its always used badly.
Marlena and Stephano have chemistry too, But writers dont write rediculous stories to destroy them.. Its not even about Safe .. break rthem up, keep them .. whatever… But this garbage wont bring ratings.. Just a few 100 die hard ejami’s

Horrible thing to say about EJAMI’s. There are thousands of EJAMI fans. They have MAJOR chemistry even more than the god-awful EJOLE and SAFE, even some friends of mine are SAFE fans. Though I will agree with you that their chemistry is used badly ALL the time and the current terrible writing is really impacting on the show.
Ejole and Safe has brought even LESS in term of ratings..you are so not credible..
Will people PLEASE stop saying that EJami=ratings gold. You don’t know that. Quite the contrary, they haven’t increased the ratings before, so why would they now? A couple doesn’t make/break the show! EJami is no exception. Yes, many viewers like them, but there’s a great deal of hatred for this non couple too. Hello? Moreover, everyone have their faves (couples, characters , storylines) & have different reasons for tuning into the show. So it incredibly irritates me when people claim EJami=ratings gold or ratings lead, when they have no proof to back that up. And, with all due respect, if there’s no evidence to prove such a statement-when it turns out to be wrong, you’ll end up looking like a fool.
I like EJ & Sami because they’re entertaining, complex, unique….It’s a shame never capitalized on their amazing potential.
However, I might be in the minority here, but I really doubt that EJ & Sami will EVER become a couple. The fact that EJ not only framed John, but also that those actions led to endangering their children once again-does NOT bode well. Sami hasn’t even forgiven EJ for the Sydnapping yet-let alone what he’s done to her since then (taking the children, the 2 rafes debacle, etc).
Moreover, they come together out of GRIEF, not LOVE. And I doubt Sami’s going to suddenly fall in love with EJ, after everything he’s done to her & definitely not when she finds out about his latest shenanigans.
No, I don’t think this is about EJami at all. This is to lay the ground work for Will’s coming out storyline & for Sami to come full circle with her past. There’ll be A LOT of drama for all the players involved (which is why tptb chose it to be EJ Sami sleeps with) & Safe will probably temporarily seperate, only to come out stronger than ever (yuck).
Once again the EJamis will be getting crumbs. Sorry to be a downer, but it is a realistic & strong possibility.

Ther are RATINGS GOLD. SAFE and EJOLE have completely brought the ratings down. However, I agree with you that EJAMi are complex and so entertaining and also about the fact that it will lead NO WHERE.
Well I haven’t been excited like this in well I don’t actually remember when, it’s been so long where I would be counting down the hours to watch another episode of Days!! This promo brought back all of those feelings of anticipation to watch the show!! James and Alison have amazing onscreen chemistry, this little sneakpeak just rocked me to my core it was so UNBELIVEABLY RAW!! I am in awe of these two, they bring so much to ourscreens, evoke so much emotion. I am sitting on the edge of my seat for this weeks scenes, I just know it is gonna be REAL good!!
I have been watching it on loop. I have never ever been so excited for a TV show to air in my entire life as I am for the EJami scenes. I was raised on this show, and in fact, it was in the delivery room while I was being born.
It is time for all the Ejami fans to really get what we have waited for! Can’t wait. I haven’t been this excited to watch Days in years!

We were promiused “Romance” . And excitement.. This borders on Sado masochistic.. And if Ejami’s think this will lead to a happy ever after it wont .. But I dont think they care, nor do they care if Sami si destroyed.. They Want teenage Sami and wont accept her as marturing.. They Hate Safe and will risk losing DOOL to destroy Safe.. Frankly the PTB could have broken SAafe without doing this.. Nor have they delivered on ***ANY*** Story.. So I excpect to hear of their cancelation very soon.. I know I wont be watching this crapfest. Mostly because I HATE being lied to.. And DOOL viewes have been Duped.

I’m so excited to have something else to watch on Days besides just Matthew Ashford’s amazing performances. I love that Sami isn’t going on blind faith anymore. She seems to be the only Brady thinking logically these days, and it’s about time. Smart Sami is back. Acceptance without question doesn’t equal maturity. Submission to the pressures and expectations of your family, to the point where you’re still going against your natural instinct and better judgement well into your thirties does not equal maturity. In fact, it means the opposite. Sami was not comfortable bringing her kids to see a man who’s been the recipient of death threats and prison beatings, but her family pushed her to do it. Sami did it because she’s been pod-Sami for the past couple of years, doing whatever she needs to do to ingratiate herself to her parents and her husband (who treats her more like a daughter than his wife).
Sami is finally maturing. She’s finally wising up to the fact that she’s a mother who knows better than anyone what’s best for her children, and for her peace of mind, and I’m thrilled we’re finally going to be getting a taste of it.
As for EJ and Sami – YES!! FINALLY!! Whatever comes of these scenes, I’m bracing myself for it. James and Alison are going to chew these scenes up and spit them out, and I, for one, am going to lap up every second of it.
I’m THRILLED that we may have a chance at Ejami. But that’s not the only story that I’m drooling over. I’m interested in the Dimera/Alice connection as well as the Jack, Jen and Dr. Dan story. It’s been looking like there may be a Chad, Abbie and Mel story going on.
The thing is, is that there are Lots more going on and involving all the characters. Story content. That is what will make or break the show.
I can hardly wait for the EJ and Sami scenes!

don’t worry people who know what is chemistry SEE IT. it is maybe one of the couple actors strongest on-screen chemistry i have ever seen on my screen..to know that writers NEVER really use it to write good stories is a freaking shame..no wonder soaps are dying..
Hello, I now what chemistry is and I don’t see it with those two. Sami is great with Rafe and EJ and Nicole bring the heat. Sami has come too far to fall back into old habits. The soaps are failing, because no one seems to learn from their past mistakes and stories are replayed over and over. If they are your favorite couple, then that’s cool and you are probably not alone. But I am surprised by this move and if Sami becomes pregnant by EJ again, I will be through with this show.
Ej and Nicole bring NOTHING imo and Sami and Rafe barf..can’t even comment about this horror..but of course to each his own, as for the characters growing..hello of course they do but they don’t need some contrived and fake makeover and have to keep the flaws which in the first place made them complex and interesting..you want to watch Caroline and Charles Ingalls well watch but you will be the only one (and at least Michael Landon was far more talented than the guy playing Rafe..don’t know his name)
I agree with “the truth” EJOLE are soooooooooooo boring that I feel like ripping my hair out and SAFE are to barf. I would rather scratch my nails on a blackboard than watch those terrible couples. Many people are through with this show due to the current couples and we will see who brings in the ratings come November 18. Goodbye EJOLE and Hello lovely EJAMI.
I think if Sami and EJ get involved, Rafe will end up with Carrie. Or perhaps Sami will get pregnant with Ej’s kid again, and pass it off as Rafe’s, or surprisingly confess. I hate seeing Sami back with EJ, but I think it may be a fling because they are upset. I also think that someone Will may have made angry, over the website gamling thing, may be behind it all.

Otherwise this soap seems a snoozefest, i don’t watch anymore but if they reunite Ej and Sami played by these actors and finally write a story FOR them and not AGAINST them or waste them with some other dull and irelevant love-interests i could come back to watch..it is up to the writers..but yep this promo is well-done..now let’s see if they can do something good with it.
I love days and Ill be watching it till the end which hopefully will be a long time from now. Anything to shake up the ratings and storylines sounds refreshing!

Chemistry is subjective-it’s a matter of taste, making your eyes see what they want to see.
Personally, I thought Lumi were cute together, but their romantic/love scenes felt rather akward & forced. They had more of a bff/sibling vibe. As for EJole, they have chemistry, but it’s the sleazy kind: they connect on a physical, sexual level-nothing more. It’s as JS said of their ONS: “he NAILED her”. Nicole knows that deep down, Ej will never love her with his heart, because it’ll always belong to someone else (Sami, Taylor).
I do agree with you about the ratings, though. EJami won’t have an affect on them. Some tune in for them, others tune out because of them – so it balances each other out. Not everyone is the same (if we were the world would be a very dull place indeed ^_^), & not everyone likes the same things/ couples/ characters/ storylines. So, in short, EJami/EJole/Safe/Bope/Jarlena are NOT “ratings gold” or “ratings lead”. I’ve said it once & I’ll say it again, loud & clear: A COUPLE DOES NOT (!!!) MAKE OR BREAK A SHOW. It’s an ignorant, arrogant , baseless assumption used to bash OR to argue in favor of a pairing. It’s really annoying & I wish people would stop saying that, unless they come up with irrefutable proof. Besides, soaps are a dying breed anyway.

alison (sammy) and galen (rafe) are two of the most attractive people on the entire show of days and they look and seem to be the best couple for each other on the show. I would never want to see sammy with anybody else except perhaps ej. And for rafe I would not want to see him with anyone else except with sammy. I hate how sammys older sister is having so much screen time with rafe, she looks like a dog compared to sammy.-just saying! Those teeth of hers, and her hugging on sammys man rate is so annoying and just ewwwwwww! Its to the point that I hate watching the show because every time you watch days sammys older sister is on the screen with rafe. I only watch the show because I enjoy only seeing sammy and rafe together on the screen. They’re hot together not apart from each other. I definitely will stop watching the show and convince others to do the same, if they try to put sammys older sister carrie together with rafe, even them hooking up is just gross and no one should want that ewwwww.

Everyone must remember that carrie is happily married and her husband is way too old looking to be involved with that extremely young looking girl named abigale. And what is really crazy is how the writers are trying to perhaps pitch the idea of them to being together is just stupid. Carries husband looks psycho, very old looking, wrinkled, stupid hairstyle that looks like he is trying to look youthful and cool but it just comes across as old and desperately trying to be younger than what he obviously is in life. Its really pathetic and sad because who does that. And why has no one tried to help him or say to him about the obvious. It kind of feels like someone is setting him up to be bashed and to look like a fool on screen. This guy has to be at least in his mid fifties or older and he looks every bit of it on screen and probably off. Then if paired with abigale ewwwww just ridiculous. He is better off staying paired up with carrie that is more believable better than abigale. UGHHHH
