As much as I want to love this show I just can’t get past the poor production value and bad acting (or maybe directing). Maybe it got better after the first 4 episodes but I couldn’t continue watching.
I would however love to see Dylan Bruce and Kristos Andrews join Days. Dylan would make the perfect Nicholas Alamain and Kristos could be one or Justin and Adrienne’s sons.

Excellent suggestion concerning Dylan Bruce and Kristos Andrews joining the cast of Days. I can see where they would fit seamlessly in the the current storylines, and with all the recent departures, both could prove to be major assets.

Completely disagree with the previous poster’s critique of The Bay. I’ve found this web series to be a breath of fresh air and have immensely enjoyed both the story telling and the acting. Considering The Bay has been nominated for multiple awards, including directing and its ensemble cast, I feel sure I am not the only one who has become hooked on this new series. The latest episode has garnered several positive and complimentary comments on numerous boards/forums across the internet, and I can see why. IMO, it was outstanding. Reading comments elsewhere, it’s obvious I’m not alone in thinking The Bay to be one of the better serial dramas the web has to offer.

I liked that episode. Not perfect, but lots happening in the different stories. You seldom get that much action from a soap anymore.

As far as Kristos Andrews joining Days…just say no. He’s way too inexperienced and he’s not very good. I tend to think he’s the weakest link in the show. Doesn’t mean he’d never improve, but he’s not good right now.

Dylan Bruce is okay. I always enjoy Charlie Shaughnessy and Mary Beth Evans. I thought Lily Melgar was pretty good.

I am totally hooked on The Bay! With each episode, fans discover more information about the core families…and of course, more questions! Soaptelling at it’s best!!!

The Bay has a wonderful cast. I’ve always wondered what kind of story could be told if all of my favorite soap actors could be involved on the same show…and now, I have my answer! It’s a soaplovers dream! Whether it’s actors we recognize or actors just starting in their profession, all have come together professionally and given fans the ultimate soap.

If I had to find a negative, I wish the length of each episdoe would increase! 🙂 Thanks Gregori for all your hard work!

I will have to give it another chance because I love the cast. I watched up until the crazy guy with the bomb came into the bar. Lily Melgar was terrible in that episode and she totally phone it in! I am going to start watching to again. Thanks guys

EastSiders Season 3 Starring Van Hansis and Kit Williamson Kickstarter Campaign Underway!

EastSiders is on its way back for season three, which is great news since the LGBT series starring former As the World Turns star Van Hasis (Ex-Luke) as Thom and creator/writer/producer Kit Williamson as Cal.

Over the last few seasons, the funny, poignant, and extremely well-written series tells the tale of a couple who go through the struggles of their relationship while living in Silver Lake, California.

With many twist and turns and featuring a supporting cast that includes: Constance Wu (Fresh Off the Boat)Brianna Brown (General Hospital, Devious Maids, the upcoming Dynasty), Stephen Guarino (Happy Endings, I’m Dying Up Here), Willam Beli (RuPaul’s Drag Race, Nip/Tuck) Traci Lords (Crybaby, Zach and Miri Make a Porno), Matthew McKelligon (You’re Killing Me), Jonathan Lisecki (Gayby) and John Halbach (Producer, EastSiders), the series third season looks to be one of its most intriguing yet.

This time Thom and Cal (Hansis and Williamson) end up on the great American road trip after moving from L.A. to the Big Apple and then trying to get back home! The journey home to Silver Lake was shot on-location in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada and  California over 35 days last fall.

The production has now launched their Kicktstarter campaign to finish up the series and is hoping for some funding for additional shoot days, and post-production costs. The campaign is set to run until June 6th, by which time the producers must have attained their goal of $60,000, or if you contribute and they have not met their goal, it is refunded. (more…)
