It’s that time of the year when The Young and the Restless gives us a compelling and interesting standalone episode featuring one of its main characters!

This time it’s Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) who gets to step up to the plate in a episode where Nick is confronted by all his exes and attempts to figure out how he screws up all his relationships with the women in his life!

The episode will air on the Tuesday, November 25th episode of the number one soap! As previewed by then Y&R head writer Shelly Altman in this week’s Soap Opera Digest on newsstand now, “His (Nick’s) relationships with women have all ended badly and he is looking for answers as to why! Nick is ready to write women off for good.  He’s deeply hurt and conflicted so he will take a journey of self-discovery, but the path to that end will be pretty twisty.”

Look for Morrow’s Nick to share scenes with Sharon Case (Sharon), Gina Tognoni (Phyllis), Jessica Collins (Avery), Jennifer Gareis (Grace), and Julianne Morris Polaha (Amy).

After the jump watch the promo for the episode from CBS Daytime entitled “An Axe to Grind”.  Then tell us, what do you think Nick’s journey will uncover for him?  Who is the perfect woman for him?  Will Nick move on and find a new love? Are you excited to see the Joshua Morrow-centric episode unfold? Comment below!

Joshua Morrow will rock the scenes. Seeing scenes of him off-screen and reading about him makes it great because he seems like such a prankster and joker. Nick is a character that I love to root for and yell at the television for some of the things he does. I feel sorry for him at times, angry, incredulous, happy…Nicolas certainly knows how to bring out every emotion in a scene. Nicholas should be alone and single for a while until he gets his head together. That being said, I am looking forward to seeing the entire scene and am anticipating the outcome of his journey of self discovery.

i’m looking forward to seeing who Amy is. I honestly don’t remember her. He probably show be alone for awhile until he can stop jumping from woman to woman. Really would hate to see hom with Grace. Never have liked her character. Time will tell!!!!

Ohhh dear Lord!!
Spare me the boring journey of Nick’s self-discovery..
Really..
That is a boring as watching your neighbors slideshow of their vacation, all 200 photos..

I hope Pratt brings me some excitement and Kills Sharon off..

I hope you “accidentally”( cuz i’m sending my mojo your way)..thus the quotation marks…SPILL LIQUID all over your keyboard in the midst of another kill sharonnewman silly remark….KILL SU0000’s keyboards!!! OH…LOL

Killing Sharon off is a million times more exciting than watching Nick dig up all his ex’s , now that puts the boreme in boring..
Sharon is empty, there is nothing more for the character..
LOL they could write Sharon sitting at home watching the CBS talk shows because she does nothing but stand around looking like a deer in headlights and there is nothing more to even be written for her that could be the least bit interesting..

I need excitement on Y&R, and Nick sniveling over his ex’s is a snore and Sharon needs to be killed off.. and not in long drawn out die from some Y&R disease she needs to go out by spontaneous combustion .. that would be rememorable..
and– Pratt would not hesitate to kill off a worn out character for big story! 🙂 LOL

lol..
”rememorable.” was to be remarkable..
voice to text auto correct can be a riot at times .. lol

Indeed, David. I don’t quite understand the Sharon hate. The actress is spot on as the quintessential soap opera heroine and the character has an underdog quality which makes me want to root for her.
I think this could be interesting in a High Fidelity kind of way. Now all Nicholas needs is Jack Black as his BFF and an arsenal of classic rock albums. Reminiss and reflect away, Nicholas. Not all of us find the prospect to be boring.

Su0000 OK IRNA PHILLIPS… LOL.. speaking out your blog responses just to make sure they sound as good as YOU think they do. Why would you even put the image of Sharon running into a room speaking and suddenly bursting into flames …ROFLMAO. ..GURL.. you need a few days in the Institute for the Very Very Very VERY NERVOUS… LOL

Su0000 Sharon will never get killed off. Sharon Case is a terrific actress. I hope Sharon gets back together with Adam. Nick belongs with Avery.

Hi peter-
It has nothing to with her acting..
Her character is burned out, she’s running on empty, there is nothing left for her story wise that would be entertaining..
Sharon in now like wallpaper, just there..
Sharon going back to Adam or Nick is overkill of been there done that way to many times = boring..
The Sharon character can not live on forever, she is empty…. lol

Hi Harry..
I do not ”hate” Sharon.. I have never hated any character..
they are not real..
Hate is a very powerful dark emotion of a very personal level..
it is not logical to hate something that is not real.. that’s crazy stuff LOL

Sharon irritates me, her deer in the headlights stare/eyes and her wallpaper persona, but no hate for the character..she just irks the crap outta me LOL!!

I simply would love to see her go out/die by spontaneous combustion!!
Picture it! it would be soooo awesome!!

What is amusing SC never looked better taking home a six figure income tons of friend a drop dead gorgeous boyfriend so does she really care about a nobody bashing her character. I think not!

Wow I can not believe some of the disrespect being shown to Sharno. She has contributed so much to the Y&R over the years and is a huge part of the Y&R family. Yes,Sharon has done some questionable and not so pretty things recently but Sharon has done nothing that has not been done before by other’s. I think it is awesome that Sharon is getting this role and I think she is playing it brilliantly. Nick needs to forgive her and they should be together for ever. Victor is the only one on the show that needs to be killed off. Come on Nick,Adam and Dylan, Get it together and knock the old man off. 😛

Amen Peter! I said earlier that Nick needs to forgive Sharon but I loved it when Adam and Sharon were together. I too loved it when Avery and Nick were together.

Su000, I beg to differ. In matters of fiction is quite possible and actually okay to hate a character. I myself believe it serves as a healthy outlet and one won’t be inclined to engage in road rage or worse yet with the season upon us, Christmas bargain shopping rage. Please refrain from the condescending admonishment that it is a just soap, and therefore, fiction. We all know that–we’re not the ones who are delusional here.
You wish Sharon dead so it is safe to say you hate this fictional character–own it. That said, Sharon is not going anywhere as she is a wildly popular character. She has many stories to tell–she’s not even close to be being done.

I would like to see Sharon surprise them all ( and us too) by becoming some powerful CEO of a business . Sure would shock us all. She needs to be independent and learn to stand alone. Can’t stand weak women!

Su0000 are you off your meds lol. Sharon is not going anywhere, Why the hate? Y&R is getting good now, Sharon Case will win an emmy for her work, I love her character.

sharon case and sharon newman collins are y n r . period.
sharon and nick if y n r s lucky enough to survive this crock chuck pratt b.s regime will be the future of y n r dynasty like victor and nikki!!!
sharon s everything to the show.

Hi Harry..
”road rage” and shopping rage” are not hate, it is anger ..
Hate is very personal emotion, it is towards a person and and can be frightening.. Hate is a dark powerful destructive emotion…
Sharon’s character is from the imagination of a writer and the character is make believe…Sharon Is not involved in my real life to become personal with her to ‘hate’ her.
The character irritates me, she irks, she is an aggravating character LOL ….
..aggravation, irritation, irksome, are not hate..

I’m hoping for a Sharon spontaneous combustion kill-off!
Not because of hate but I would simply love to see that happen to the character!! LOL

and- I see some are seeing the actor and the character as one, they are not, lol .. this is about the character..

you’re alway a pleasure, Harry 🙂

How about Avery? You didn’t her name on your list?

Avery is played by Jessica Collins and she was included in the list.

Avery is that kind of person one doesn’t notice. In fact, in her senior year book picture there is her name and no picture.

Why would you want to kill Sharon for excitement? That seems a little harsh!!!

I would love t see a new love interest for Nick 🙂 He needs to find true happiness

Bring Vanessa Marcil ex Brenda as Nick’s new love interest. That would be fine with me.

Just let Nick & Sharon be happy. Enough is enough.

I agree with you Vicsze, Sharon and Nick need to happy and back together. The writers are torturing us, I love Nick and Sharon together. They have wonderful chemistry.

I’m looking forward to the episode. I think Avery was the best woman for Nick. She didn’t cheat on him or lie to him. She genuinely wanted the best for him and still does. I wish Nick would of understood why she stayed to help Dylan since he was always running to Sharon’s side when something was going on with her. Dylan was in a terrible place and it would of been wrong for her to have left him.

Nikki,

I agree with you… I liked Nick with Avery the best BUT they will keep her with the boring Dylan, Steve Burton. Steve plays Dylan just like he played Jason, just no killing. He is not a top actor, he may be LOVED by Friends of Jill, but certainly not worthy of his ” press”.

I felt Nick and Avery were very real and very romantic… I cannot even watch Dylan with her…there’s no chemistry…all seems forced.

Don’t have any interest in seeing a rehash of Nick’s old flames. Will probably skip Tues.

Nick needs to grow up once & for all. He’s acting like a spoiled little kid. Sharon saved his darling daughter’s life when she took an overdose of pills. Sharon got her to the hospital in time & called Nick (not Jack) Sharon saved her freezing a– when she was modelling out in the cold & had the camera-man fired. Sharon helped her with her wedding & got Nick to go evening though he didn’t want to & Sharon asked her to be in her own wedding. Nick needs to realize Sharon was sick & let it go.Thursday or Friday’s episode made me ill. One minute he’s angry with his father for getting involved the next he’s hugging him & saying take good care of my girls. GROW-UP Nick!!

RIGHT ON, Nikki!!!!! To me (at this point), Nick is nothing but a drooling dunderhead, oversexed moron and (most of all) a self-righteous hypocrite!!!!! So, therefore, on Tuesday’s episode of Y&R, I hope that A-L-L of those chicks R-I-P Nick to shreds…it is LONG OVERDUE!!!!!! Yep.

Take care, Nikki. XOXOXOXOXO

What no Nikki???? I don’t think you can do a self discovery show about a man’s relationship with the women in his life and not include the most important woman — his mother. I mean that’s classic Freud– so I’m hoping MTS will be in the mix too— would love to see a confrontation between mother and son– because they have never addressed Nikki’s impact on his life– they did a lot of father and son stuff, but it would be fun to have him realize the role his relationship with his mother has in his choice of women.

Well Nikki was there after all— I knew they had to include her– it wasn’t the confrontation between mother and son I hoped for, but she was there. Actually the whole episode was a bit disappointing but I liked the end– my guess Sage will find him.

Very disappointed that they brought the character Amy back for this. My next question is why do we showcase the male actors on this show only? I am not sure. I can handle 47 minutes of JM destroying the English language please stop with the word Dude it is totally juvenile.

I totally agree. Even on his twitter he uses that word. I do think he is very high on himself.

Oh good point, K/Kay.
Maybe he can replace “dude” with old sport, pal or buster. Dude is immature and overused.
What I like about this story is finally we take a critical look at Nicholas. It’s always about Sharon and her screw ups. What about Nicholas– who really has always let his family attack her time and time again?

Poor Nick Newman, The man has bad luck with women. Maybe Nick can be gay or bisexual. Let nick get a gay storyline. I would love to watch that.

Adam got reconstructive surgery, Nick reflects on all his ex’s where have I seen similar stories ……..

They all repeat stories there is nothing original anymore and Bill Bell repeated stories nature of the beast!

Yes, Kay. Even William Shakespeare repeated themes. I like internal character introspection myself.

What would really be great but they will not do it is if Nick realized the biggest problem he has stares back at him every morning ! He somehow holds himself to different standards then the women in his life remember it was awful for Sharon to date and marry brothers but certainly fine for him to with sisters and remember asNoah pointed out Friday none of this would have went down concerning Summer if he had just been honest about the paternity question from the start. I so wanted he and Sharon to finally come full circle but now that ship has sailed for me. Side note did anyone else notice that SB/Dylan in his scenes with SC actually acted like blood ran thru his veins. Loved it they really missed the boat not pairing those two at the start .

i think Nick should kick all exes to the curb and focus on himself & Faith. Then down the road find a new love …. He deserves that much in my eyes!

I do not think Nick has to look to far, he needs to look in the direction of his screwed up parents and there multiple marriages and divorces, to each other and to other people, that is enough to send someone to therapy for most of their lives.

Some men are not marriage material..
There are men who think they should marry but they really dont want to..
Not everybody is made for marriage..
some men (and women) should never get married, it’s just not the right thing for them..

leslie!!!!
maybe because of conflicting intrests nick can hire leslie instead of avery to defend his parentage suit against sharon. a full interacial fling for y n r is long overdue. leslie s a lil spitfire and would love to see leslie vs sharon or even better against phyliss!!
nick andleslie could be a nice breath of fresh air!!! mayb tyler could rock sharons world!!! sharon going after her daughters ex could get ugly!!!
i just want to see tyler and leslie again!!!

Dang! I missed it because I fast forward through it.

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)

Maura West and Kelly Sullivan

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.

The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.

Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST

Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”

Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”

Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

KELLY SULLIVAN PARTING THOUGHTS AS SHE LEFT GENERAL HOSPITAL

Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”

You can catch the full conversation with Kelly where she talks about her time on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless where she played Sage Warner and now The Bold and the Beautiful below.

So, do you remember the Ava and Connie scenes where Ava shot and killed her? What did you think of Kelly Sullivan’s sentiments about Maura West? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, watch the reveal where Ava recalls murdering Connie below!

Steve Burton Reportedly Signs Three-Year Contract with ‘General Hospital’

Published

Steve Burton

The question of will Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) stay awhile at General Hospital after his recent extended hiatus from the show earlier this year, has reportedly been answered.

TMZ via court documents obtained in Burton’s ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife Sheree Gustin, shared that Steve actually inked a new three year deal with the ABC soap opera back in June.

That is significant because it was June when Burton returned back to work as Jason. In addition, the court filing confirmed that Burton had already moved back to California from Tennessee.

STEVE’S HIATUS AND HIS RETURN TO PORT CHARLES

GH fans will recall, it was back in February of 2026, that Burton announced via his Instagram that he was stepping away from his role of Jason Morgan for short break and pointed to wanting to spend quality time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom Burton with whom he tied the knot back on May 17, 2025.

Steve expressed at that time, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.” It was back on March 25 that viewers saw Jason carted away by the WSB after taking the fall for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) who shot then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).

Burton returned to work on June 1, and due to General Hospital taping roughly six weeks ahead of air, made his on-screen comeback on the July 13 episode.

GOING FOR GOLD AT THE UPCOMING DAYTIME EMMYS

Then, Steve and his enduring fans got an extra special treat on the same day, when it was revealed on Extra that he was nominated for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category.

Steve previously won in the Supporting Actor category for his work as General Hospital’s Jason in 1998 and as The Young and the Restless’ Dylan McAvoy in 2018.

Now with Jason and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship seemingly hitting the skids, plus Jason’s commitment to staying out of mob life to focus on being present for his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), what does the future hold for the fan favorite character? Stay tuned.

So, happy to hear that Steve Burton signed a new three year deal with General Hospital? Knowing that, what storyline would you like to see Jason get involved and with who? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.

“In her refreshingly candid style, Jess shares her journey as a young actress from Toronto theaters to Los Angeles, where she found herself at the center of a Laurel Canyon circle that included the likes of Neil Young, David Geffen, Laura Nyro, and Joni Mitchell. Fans of The Young and the Restless know that Walton became the fourth actress to take on the role of Katherine Chancellor’s original nemesis Jill Foster back in 1987. The OG Jill was played by Brenda Dickson, also Deborah Adair, Bond Gideon and Melinda O. Fee played the part.

This year, Days of our Lives star Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) filled-in for several episodes for Walton who was unavailable to travel from her home in Oregon to Los Angeles where Y&R was taped. Walton is still with the long-running soap opera as Jill.
