Next Week A Special Y&R Episode: Nick And His Exes!

Courtesy/CBS

Courtesy/CBS

It’s that time of the year when The Young and the Restless gives us a compelling and interesting standalone episode featuring one of its main characters!

This time it’s Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) who gets to step up to the plate in a episode where Nick is confronted by all his exes and attempts to figure out how he screws up all his relationships with the women in his life!

The episode will air on the Tuesday, November 25th episode of the number one soap! As previewed by then Y&R head writer Shelly Altman in this week’s Soap Opera Digest on newsstand now, “His (Nick’s) relationships with women have all ended badly and he is looking for answers as to why! Nick is ready to write women off for good.  He’s deeply hurt and conflicted so he will take a journey of self-discovery, but the path to that end will be pretty twisty.”

Look for Morrow’s Nick to share scenes with Sharon Case (Sharon), Gina Tognoni (Phyllis), Jessica Collins (Avery), Jennifer Gareis (Grace), and Julianne Morris Polaha (Amy).

After the jump watch the promo for the episode from CBS Daytime entitled “An Axe to Grind”.  Then tell us, what do you think Nick’s journey will uncover for him?  Who is the perfect woman for him?  Will Nick move on and find a new love? Are you excited to see the Joshua Morrow-centric episode unfold? Comment below!

Joshua Morrow will rock the scenes. Seeing scenes of him off-screen and reading about him makes it great because he seems like such a prankster and joker. Nick is a character that I love to root for and yell at the television for some of the things he does. I feel sorry for him at times, angry, incredulous, happy…Nicolas certainly knows how to bring out every emotion in a scene. Nicholas should be alone and single for a while until he gets his head together. That being said, I am looking forward to seeing the entire scene and am anticipating… Read more »

Killing Sharon off is a million times more exciting than watching Nick dig up all his ex’s , now that puts the boreme in boring.. Sharon is empty, there is nothing more for the character.. LOL they could write Sharon sitting at home watching the CBS talk shows because she does nothing but stand around looking like a deer in headlights and there is nothing more to even be written for her that could be the least bit interesting.. I need excitement on Y&R, and Nick sniveling over his ex’s is a snore and Sharon needs to be killed off..… Read more »

Indeed, David. I don’t quite understand the Sharon hate. The actress is spot on as the quintessential soap opera heroine and the character has an underdog quality which makes me want to root for her.
I think this could be interesting in a High Fidelity kind of way. Now all Nicholas needs is Jack Black as his BFF and an arsenal of classic rock albums. Reminiss and reflect away, Nicholas. Not all of us find the prospect to be boring.

Su0000 OK IRNA PHILLIPS… LOL.. speaking out your blog responses just to make sure they sound as good as YOU think they do. Why would you even put the image of Sharon running into a room speaking and suddenly bursting into flames …ROFLMAO. ..GURL.. you need a few days in the Institute for the Very Very Very VERY NERVOUS… LOL

Su0000 Sharon will never get killed off. Sharon Case is a terrific actress. I hope Sharon gets back together with Adam. Nick belongs with Avery.

Hi peter- It has nothing to with her acting.. Her character is burned out, she’s running on empty, there is nothing left for her story wise that would be entertaining.. Sharon in now like wallpaper, just there.. Sharon going back to Adam or Nick is overkill of been there done that way to many times = boring.. The Sharon character can not live on forever, she is empty…. lol Hi Harry.. I do not ”hate” Sharon.. I have never hated any character.. they are not real.. Hate is a very powerful dark emotion of a very personal level.. it is… Read more »

Wow I can not believe some of the disrespect being shown to Sharno. She has contributed so much to the Y&R over the years and is a huge part of the Y&R family. Yes,Sharon has done some questionable and not so pretty things recently but Sharon has done nothing that has not been done before by other’s. I think it is awesome that Sharon is getting this role and I think she is playing it brilliantly. Nick needs to forgive her and they should be together for ever. Victor is the only one on the show that needs to be… Read more »

Su000, I beg to differ. In matters of fiction is quite possible and actually okay to hate a character. I myself believe it serves as a healthy outlet and one won’t be inclined to engage in road rage or worse yet with the season upon us, Christmas bargain shopping rage. Please refrain from the condescending admonishment that it is a just soap, and therefore, fiction. We all know that–we’re not the ones who are delusional here. You wish Sharon dead so it is safe to say you hate this fictional character–own it. That said, Sharon is not going anywhere as… Read more »

I would like to see Sharon surprise them all ( and us too) by becoming some powerful CEO of a business . Sure would shock us all. She needs to be independent and learn to stand alone. Can’t stand weak women!

Hi Harry.. ”road rage” and shopping rage” are not hate, it is anger .. Hate is very personal emotion, it is towards a person and and can be frightening.. Hate is a dark powerful destructive emotion… Sharon’s character is from the imagination of a writer and the character is make believe…Sharon Is not involved in my real life to become personal with her to ‘hate’ her. The character irritates me, she irks, she is an aggravating character LOL …. ..aggravation, irritation, irksome, are not hate.. I’m hoping for a Sharon spontaneous combustion kill-off! Not because of hate but I would… Read more »

I’m looking forward to the episode. I think Avery was the best woman for Nick. She didn’t cheat on him or lie to him. She genuinely wanted the best for him and still does. I wish Nick would of understood why she stayed to help Dylan since he was always running to Sharon’s side when something was going on with her. Dylan was in a terrible place and it would of been wrong for her to have left him.

Nikki,

I agree with you… I liked Nick with Avery the best BUT they will keep her with the boring Dylan, Steve Burton. Steve plays Dylan just like he played Jason, just no killing. He is not a top actor, he may be LOVED by Friends of Jill, but certainly not worthy of his ” press”.

I felt Nick and Avery were very real and very romantic… I cannot even watch Dylan with her…there’s no chemistry…all seems forced.

Nick needs to grow up once & for all. He’s acting like a spoiled little kid. Sharon saved his darling daughter’s life when she took an overdose of pills. Sharon got her to the hospital in time & called Nick (not Jack) Sharon saved her freezing a– when she was modelling out in the cold & had the camera-man fired. Sharon helped her with her wedding & got Nick to go evening though he didn’t want to & Sharon asked her to be in her own wedding. Nick needs to realize Sharon was sick & let it go.Thursday or Friday’s… Read more »

RIGHT ON, Nikki!!!!! To me (at this point), Nick is nothing but a drooling dunderhead, oversexed moron and (most of all) a self-righteous hypocrite!!!!! So, therefore, on Tuesday’s episode of Y&R, I hope that A-L-L of those chicks R-I-P Nick to shreds…it is LONG OVERDUE!!!!!! Yep.

Take care, Nikki. XOXOXOXOXO

What no Nikki???? I don’t think you can do a self discovery show about a man’s relationship with the women in his life and not include the most important woman — his mother. I mean that’s classic Freud– so I’m hoping MTS will be in the mix too— would love to see a confrontation between mother and son– because they have never addressed Nikki’s impact on his life– they did a lot of father and son stuff, but it would be fun to have him realize the role his relationship with his mother has in his choice of women.

Well Nikki was there after all— I knew they had to include her– it wasn’t the confrontation between mother and son I hoped for, but she was there. Actually the whole episode was a bit disappointing but I liked the end– my guess Sage will find him.

Very disappointed that they brought the character Amy back for this. My next question is why do we showcase the male actors on this show only? I am not sure. I can handle 47 minutes of JM destroying the English language please stop with the word Dude it is totally juvenile.

Oh good point, K/Kay.
Maybe he can replace “dude” with old sport, pal or buster. Dude is immature and overused.
What I like about this story is finally we take a critical look at Nicholas. It’s always about Sharon and her screw ups. What about Nicholas– who really has always let his family attack her time and time again?

What would really be great but they will not do it is if Nick realized the biggest problem he has stares back at him every morning ! He somehow holds himself to different standards then the women in his life remember it was awful for Sharon to date and marry brothers but certainly fine for him to with sisters and remember asNoah pointed out Friday none of this would have went down concerning Summer if he had just been honest about the paternity question from the start. I so wanted he and Sharon to finally come full circle but now… Read more »

I do not think Nick has to look to far, he needs to look in the direction of his screwed up parents and there multiple marriages and divorces, to each other and to other people, that is enough to send someone to therapy for most of their lives.

Some men are not marriage material..
There are men who think they should marry but they really dont want to..
Not everybody is made for marriage..
some men (and women) should never get married, it’s just not the right thing for them..

All My Children and Guiding Light Vet, Gil Rogers Passes Away

Gil Rogers, who played one of the all-time most dastardly villains in soaps on All My Children and was the on-screen father to the one and only Reva Shayne (Kim Zimmer) on Guiding Light, has died at age 87.

News came via his daughter, Amanda Rogers on her Facebook page, relating that Gil passed away on March 2nd.

The actor had played Tad (Michael E. Knight) and Jenny’s (Kim Delaney) father, Ray Gardner on All My Children from 1977-1978 making multiple appearance though 2001, then later as Hawk Shayne on Guiding Light from 1985-1992 making multiple appearance through 2009.

Gil also appeared on Another World, Search for Tomorrow and The Doctors.

In her post, Amanda wrote: “Gil Rogers died this morning. As you all know, my dad was awesome. He was my best friend, confidant, mentor and just an awesome dad. He came to pick me and  Charlotte Whitaker Zdanowski up at clubs at 2AM in our teens to keep us safe, and drank bourbon with me every day since moving out here 2 years ago. He was welcoming and kind, funny and gregarious, a shameless flirt and a fierce protector. He loved his dinners with grandkids and endured animated movies and discussions about pokemon. And I miss him so terribly already. He died in his sleep, without pain or fear. I am so grateful to have had such a great father and to have spent these past 2 years with him every day.”

Check out this vintage scene below from All My Children where Ray played by Rogers blows up the Martin house.

Now share your remembrances of Gil’s performances and along with condolences for his family in the comment section.

Chris Harrison In First Interview Since ‘Bachelor’ Controversy Says He Wants To Be Back as Host; But GMA’s Michael Strahan Says Apology was a “Surface Response”

Thursday’s Good Morning America featured the highly-publicized first interview with ‘Bachelor’ franchise host and executive producer, Chris Harrison, since he stepped away from the show following his controversial remarks on current Bachelor contestant Rachel Kirkconnell, amid the airing of a season that has seen the first-ever Black male lead of the reality series, Matt James.

Speaking with GMA co-host, Michael Strahan, Harrison spoke of remarks he made during his interview with ex-Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay on Extra that sparked the firestorm.

Harrison admitted the words he spoke to Lindsey were “in a manner that perpetuates racism,” adding “I am an imperfect man I made a mistake and I own that. I believe that mistake doesn’t reflect who I am or what I stand for.”

The incident began when photos surfaced on social media of Kirkconnell at an Old South-themed party that she attended back in 2018, along with allegations she “liked” many Instagram posts that were racist in nature, and what many viewed as Harrison coming to her defense in this time of what he then called “cancel culture”.

On GMA, Chris expressed: “Antebellum parties are not OK,  Past, present, future, knowing what that represents is unacceptable.”

He also apologized to Lindsay, who had to shut down her Instagram account because of viral vitriol being sent her way over the incident with Harrison, adding this message to the public, “Anyone who is throwing hate towards Rachel Lindsay, please stop. It’s unacceptable.”

Photo: ABC

As to how he is trying to make amends, Harrison shared: “I made a mistake and I own that, Racism, oppression, these are big dynamic problems and they take serious work. I am committed to that work.”  The longtime Bachelor host then announced he is working with race educator Dr. Eric Dyson who has taught him about the idea of “counsel, not cancel”.

Chris says he plans to be back hosting the reality-dating series, expressing:  “I plan to be back. I want to be back.  This interview is not the finish line. There is much more work to be done.”

Following the exclusive, Michael Strahan described his conversation with Chris Harrison stating: “His apology is his apology, but it felt like it got nothing more than a surface response on any of this. Obviously, he is the man who wants to clearly stay on the show, but only time will tell if there is any meaning behind his words.”

So, what do you think of Chris Harrison’s responses during his first interview since the controversy? Should he return to hosting The Bachelor franchise? Comment below. But first check out his GMA exclusive.

GH’s Wes Ramsey Makes Statement on Criticism, Social Media, and Professionalism

General Hospital’s Wes Ramsey, who portrays polarizing character, Peter August on the ABC daytime drama series, responded to a recent take on his role from cast mate, Tristan Rogers (Scorpio) when a video made its way through social media.

The video was from a Cameo appearance, where Rogers offered an assessment of the Peter August storyline and expressed that while he knows Ramsey is a strong actor, he felt he was “wrong for the character” being that Peter was the son of the evil Faison played by Anders Hove.

Rogers also came to the defense of Ramsey and shared: “Don’t be too hard on Wes Ramsey. He’s got himself into a horrible storyline, and the storyline is the fault of the show. What they’ve literally done is they’ve painted themselves into a corner, and they don’t know how to get out of it.”

Currently, Peter’s story is front and center on GH with his wedding to Maxie (Kirsten Storms), and the fallout from all of the character’s dirty deeds.

Now Ramsey took to his Instagram account to address what transpired and his thoughts on the perils of social media, professionalism and acting, expressing: “Actors are storytellers, shapeshifters, chameleons. We’re also in the business of cultivating trust bc that’s how the best work is brought to life. We have to trust our imaginations, our instincts. We have to trust our fellow actors, because without them, there’s no scene to play. In the collaborative efforts of bringing any show to life, we also have to trust our directors each day to steer the arch of our story (like a conductor with a symphony) & trust our writers who are tasked with composing the symphonies we play out. I came up in a world of classical theater, where trusting the play, text, story is essential to the tightrope balancing act of making magic.  You will never hear me critique (on any public platform) the people responsible for the creative opportunities I enjoy each day. Without the trust of my writers, directors, producers & fellow actors, it would be impossible to live out my dreams. My job (& my only job) is to bring fearlessness, playfulness & passionate conviction to what has been created for me. My aim is to stretch myself (beyond the limits of where I think my boundaries may lye) each time I’m entrusted with material that allows those boundaries to be tested.

Every actor must believe they are the right person for their part or they will never achieve their potential, let alone surpass it. I was raised a gentleman & have two wonderful parents to thank for that, however, my polite personality (while rendering me easy to get along with on set) should have little bearing on my caliber of performance nor my castability as a professional.  I am leery of the pitfalls of social media & believe there are advantages to maintaining some mystery (even as a public figure) but I will always defend & protect what I hold dear (my job & my career) when they are publicly challenged, especially by those closest to me, whom I love & respect. Please know I bear no ill will. As a society, we are all still learning the full ramifications of living in an internet dominated culture. To all my many fans out there who offer encouragement & support, I hear you & am grateful for you. I’m having a blast… 🙂. Onward we go.”

Share your thoughts on Wes’ statement on playing the role of Peter August and more via the comment section below.
