Next Week On Y&R: "The Moment You've Been Waiting For!"

Courtesy/CBS
Finally, it appears Nick (Joshua Morrow) will be reunited with his “son” Christian (currently “Sully”) in emotional episodes of The Young and the Restless come the week of October 31st. Nick is already lamenting the loss of Christian and Sage since Halloween is approaching in Genoa City. Poor Nick is in a very sad place.
In the new promo from CBS Daytime, Nick receives a call. Patty (Stacy Haiduk) from Rivercrest is heard and/or seen uttering, “There are no more secrets! You’re son is alive. Now they all know!”
Later in the teaser, Nick confronts Sharon (Sharon Case)! Will she crack and spill all the the beans to Nick? Nick asks her, “Is Patty out of her mind?” And then, a fuming Nick yells, “Don’t you dare lie to me!”
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) ends the promo stating: “His whole life is about to be obliterated!” Watch the Nick and Christian promo after the jump!
Then let us know, what you hope Nick does next following this bombshell? And, if you will be watching the long time coming in the comment section below!
All I can say is “It’s about time” Sharon has done some despicable things in her life, but even this had made her hit a new low. She certainly has no morals and didn’t have these feelings when she ripped Faith away from Ashley. I am horrified that she also has dragged Mariah into this mess considering that Mariah was also stolen as a baby from Sharon. I bet she will try to “blame” her bi-polar condition. The ramifications of this reveal will have devastating consequences. Although we the viewers know that Sage was in the accident because she was distracted, Sharon was there and some residents of GC might think she “let” Sage die on purpose to stop the secret coming out or that she was the cause of the accident. As for Nick, I hope he never forgives Sharon for this. She has known full well that she wasn’t the babies mother and if she had come clean right at the beginning, she probably would have saved her marriage, kept her friendship with Nick and also would have had a relationship with the baby. Chelsea knows the truth about the paternity and I bet she will ask Victor to help her make sure that any possible DNA samples say that Nick is the father. I imagine that Nick will seek to get full custody of Faith and Christian without any visitation rights for Sharon.
Hi, Lynda,
I agree that what Sharon did, and is doing is ‘sick’……
I have said it on multiple sites….also the fact that she dragged Mariah into this without any qualms, is a big tell-all. Sharon has always been a caring, devoted mother when healthy.
However, I must disagree about Sharon going to a new low. Yes, she has descended into an abyss of such profound depths that it does blow the mind. But, her disconnect with reality only proves she’s not right in the head.
That’s the crux of the matter. She is mentally unstable. As I said, in my opinion, Sharon never healed. She should not have been discharged from the institution.
Obviously Dr. Anderson aggravated her malady. So, she has every right to blame her disorder.
Even amidst all her confusion ( during her imaginary pregnancy) , what sane woman is not aware of the signs of the ‘afterbirth’? The lack of lactation? Little aches, here and there? ..know what I mean? Any woman who has given birth knows this. She had had kids before; so…..
And, I am pretty sure she has sex with Dylan soon after? Not normal.
That’s like Victor, drinking; boxing, ‘indulging’ soon after his transplant…..an old man, no less!!
Celia– re your question further down in the thread — Victor knows Christian is Adam’s son, but he doesn’t know Sully is Christian– he believes the baby is dead– that is how he figured out Adam was the father because he saw how Adam reacted to the baby’s death—trust me if he had known Sully was Christian he wouldn’t have let Sharon within in a mile of the kid—- and when he does find out– well I wouldn’t want to be Sharon when this all hits the fan– she will need to join Patty at Rivercrest.
About time this show had some excitement instead of all the boring corporate s/l’s.
Yes! Finally! I have never fast forwarded so much on my dvr as I have in the last couple of weeks!bb
Exciting end I’ve been waiting for. Thank you Y&R. My favorite actor, Joshua Morrow is making this the most exciting climax to this long awaited storyline ever. My DVR will be on & I’ll look at this episode frequently. Make it happen Josh. You are the at& R. Love you!! Linda R.
About time
Oh, my God—this is what I’ve been waiting for!!! I was getting so dizzy from the anticipation for this big reveal to finally come out, It really did give me anxiety watching all the players in this story go through the hell they were in and yet some of them didn’t even know it. I know there is more to come out from this but at last, it looks like the truth is going to be unleashed.
Did I miss something or is Sully really Adam & Sage’ s baby? The nurse, Adam, Sage & I think Victor are the only one’s that know this… Sully is Christian, but not Nick’s son…?
You are correct. This means there will be alot of chances for Joshua Morrow to chew scenery when every bit of this comes out. The emotions coming from Nick are going to be at an all-time high which we both know makes for great soap opera!!!
Yes, Shari….but, I hope the baby will turn out to be Nick’s.
I am, however, somewhat confused ( I wish someone would refresh my memory because I do not remember this fact), in that; I did not know Victor was aware that Sully is really Christian.
It just seems strange to me for Victor, being himself; the omnipotent Victor, never trying to see “Sully”, if he were his grandson. I am in a quandary.
Yes, Victor knew Adam was Christian’s father, but, he believes the baby is dead with no connection to Sully. What did I miss? LOL.
To clarify what has been presented to us viewers thus far: Yes, Victor knows (or at least he thinks he knows asI maintain that Nicholas will turn out to the father) that Christian’s father was really Adam. He used this information to blackmail Adam.
What he doesn’t know yet is that Christian is alive and that Sharon has been raising him as her own. That is why Victor is not rushing over to Sharon’s house to see his grandchild. At this point, Victor thinks Christian is dead. All this will change tomorrow.
Patty will tell her story, Sharon and Dillion will go kuput! Because Sharon and Patty don’t know the whole story. Nick will take the baby and then Chelsea will be like “wait a minute! That’s Adam’s son!!” Cause she knows what Nick doesn’t know. That that baby is Adam and Sages child!!”
There is nothing Chelsea can do about it, Magneto.
By law, Chelsea has no rights to the baby….Nick does, albeit the baby may not be his. Nick is the legal father.
Unless, Adam shows up, the baby goes to Nick, who would not just hand Christan over.
They would take it to court. And, a second test would probably be ordered.
Like I said in a previous post, Nick is going to be heart broken when he realizes that the two women he has been pouring his heart out to have been stabbing him in the back. Especially Sharon. I am not saying that Chelsea is innocent because she’s not. In my opinion she has the bigger secret because she knows the baby is Adam’s. I know Victor knows as well, but annoying as it is Victor is Victor and he always had his hands in everyone’s pocket so to speak. Of course Chelsea is going to use the “I am protecting my dead husband” excuse. I want to see the aftermath of Sharon when she finds out the baby is Adam’s. Did Nick even know that Adam and Sage did the deed. My mind escapes me in my old age. Well if Nick is having a breakdown know without knowing the truth, I wonder what he is going to be like when the proverbial s*** hits the fan. I am always a rooter for the under dog, and I always loved Nick. All the poor guy ever wanted was a stable family he could call his own. Well as stable as you can get in the world of soap operas. It m7ght prove to be an interesting week.
Nick found out Sage slept with Gabe when he discovered she had a paternity test done to find which one of them was her baby’s father– at that time Nick didn’t know Gabe was Adam– after the baby was born and supposedly died then the writers revealed that Adam had tampered with that test and he was really the father.-
As for Nick the guy has been lied to by women so many times one would think by now nice guy Nick would turn into a jerk and started to treat women as badly as they treated him. Personally I am still hoping Nikki tampered with her paternity test and we find out Nick was really Kevin Brancoft’s kid all a long– now that would be story
…which would explain why Nick is NOTHING like Victor! I forgot all about Kevin and Nikki. Great idea!
That would be one for the record books. I wonder how old Victor would react to that bit of news. But after his reaction to Dylan, in his eyes and way of thinking, he is the only ine in that marriage to produce off spring with other lovers. And getting back to poor Nick, maybe after all this he will go to a dark place for a while. Like I said, he was fit to be tied on Friday. He is goung to wind up a shadow of his former self. Thanks for the recap on Sage and Gabe/Adam
It was Victoria, not Nicholas who was thought to be Kevin Bancroft’s child.
Hi, Mary,
Thanks for replying. Yes, that’s what I believed, as well. Lisa said her writing was not worded correctly, and I accepted that. I do it all the time. LOL.
But, there are some posters who think otherwise.
HaHa….funny about Nick…poor guy!!!!
But, not such a ‘suckah’. Remember his affair with Grace Turner? He misused Sharon, as well. I was a tween, but I remember, albeit I wasn’t supposed to watch certain scenes. LOL. I got an eyeful at the ripe, old age of twelve? I think….I remember being in grade school, talking about it with my twin and friends. It was such a big topic of conversation. LOL.
If anyone has been used and abused, it’s been Sharon.
Who is Kevin Bancroft?…..must ask Gran and/or look him up. Whoever he is, I am assuming one of Nikki’s past loves. Ohhhh!!!! Juicy!!!!! Anything to stick it to Victor. I liiiike!
‘Nite, Mary.
@Alan— I humbly stand corrected– you are right it was Victoria not Nick whose paternity was it question whether it was Victor’s or Kevin’s– but and submit to your better memory to confirm this– but I do recall Nikki and Victor were separated at the time she found out she was pregnant with Nick and when she told him, didn’t Victor try to claim the baby was somebody else’s and not his, and that she was using the child to get him back? Which is why I thought she had a DNA test done just to prove to Victor she was having his baby–but after all these years — all these “whose the daddy” stories blur together—- LOL— Thanks for the correction— and for those of you who don’t know who Kevin was– he was one of Nikki’s husbands– I think he was her second– but it didn’t last long
I am pretty sure the baby is going to turn out to be Nick’s. It was a bad mistake on the writers’ part making the baby suddenly be Adam’s and it appeared to be a case of the writers making it all up as they went along.
Sharon Case has intimated in an interview that the DNA test results were murky at best and the paternity is not absolute. I really hope they remedy this mistake in the writing and let Nick have his baby. The character deserves this and so do the viewers. It would be terribly anti climatic and un rewarding to make the baby Adam’s.
That’s where I think you are wrong. It is a sham that holier than thou Nick is raising a kid that is Adams. Adam did everything he could to do the RIGHT thing once he was back as Gabe. I hope and pray that Sharon gets charged because then the court will have to do a DNA test unless of course Y&R continues to live in the land of make believe and just lets every one say the baby is Nicks instead of making sure which is what they do in the real world!
It has been written;
Adam IS the father ,,,,
When Adam is recast, and he will be recast, then we will have another year of–
”who’s the baby daddy”’ stuff ..
Snore!
I agree, su. As far as the viewer knows Adam IS the father. However, as I keep saying, Nick IS the legal father.
When Adam comes back, he will have to duke it out in court with Nick. Ergo, DNA test. The twist will be: ta-da……Nick is really the bio Dad.
My parents litigate this stuff on a daily basis.
we don’t need a fourth recast of Adam as I understand JH show is a hit
@Kay.
Oh, believe me, Kay…. I agree that we don’t need another Adam…Justin or otherwise. These constant resurrections are ridiculous. Adam has nine lives.
But, who are we to say? If TPTB decide on an Adam return; that’s what we’ll get.
One can only hope Adam comes back and claims his child I for one am really sick of the whole charade!
Please let this story be over! Amen! Such a tragic plot without any hope or purpose in the long term. Make it better, Mal and Sally!
Just more of the same. Sharon is the selfish psychotic, Nick will threaten to or take Faith away from her, Dylan will leave her, Kevin will vilify Mariah for aiding and abetting…Sharon ends up in Fairview. Nick will dump Chelsea if she brings up Adam’s actual parentage. Everyone will be mad at everyone. That’s IF this is really the end of it.
Nick, come to my house…. I will protect you!
LOL, Cathy. Count me in.
The sad thing is Nick will learn the truth only to find out later it is not his son at all, i think Chelsea should just tell Nick it is Adams baby.
Stay tuned, I really think Nick will turn out be the father after all.
I just have one question–will he change the name back to Christian?
And poor Dylan! This is going to be a heart breaker for him. But on a good note, this will be Burton’s chance to prove to those who are unfamiliar with his work on GH that he really can act.
The drum beat rolls and Case stares into the camera and says “Write me out of this one Sally & Kay ” with all due respect it is a soap and it is her job but could Case just maybe for five minutes catch a break?
I know — and the worse part of it is now we have to watch her grovel and tell Dylan– but I did all for you, because I love you so much— make me gag– the real Sharon, the Sharon they originally created would have never believed such crap– she knew right from wrong– she knew what it was like to have a child taken from her– now she will everyone’s punching bag– it sickens me just thinking about let alone having to watch it.
Mary not sure I can even read about what is going down on this much less watch it because Pratt has totally thrown her to the wolves I mean why did we not let her tell Nick the truth after Sage died now as we all know they will think she was in on the kidnapping just gosh awful . People are yelling at Case and telling her they hope she gets shown the door. Crazy!
Nicki is going to have a field day with this one.I still say Chelsea has no right to pass judgement. I wonder who is going to mention Adam first, Victor or Chelsea, or are they both going keep quiet and let Sharon take her licks. And don’t forget, Chelsea did the same thing to Dylan with Connor, so she really has no right to be judgemental. This going to be interesting to see how all this is going to play out
Team Case
No, this isn’t the day I’ve been waiting for. I believe that date is in early December when Sally Sussman’s work on Y&R debuts.
Joe, I totally agree with you.
Wow Y&R is getting good now. Baby Sully is a cute kid, very addorable. Sharon needs to pay for her crimes. Please keep crazy Patty, she is cray cray LOL.
It’s not Nicks son it’s Adams so just when he thinks he has his son he will lose him again
Lose him to whom, Maria? No one has any rights to Christian, but Nick. That’s the law, if it were in real life. Nick is the legal father, until disputed in court. And, at the risk of repeating myself, Adam would be the only who could legally fight this.
Oh, wait!!!! There’s Victor. Forgot about him. Would a judge give a baby to an old man?
It needs to move on on ….the billy story, abby, stitch, story, nick about time chloe needs to move out of adams house cause if ya are bringing him back
Verily….LOL. Does anyone really care about the Abby/Stitch story? Nah. I didn’t think so.
Yeah, Chloe living in Adam’s house is a joke. A slap in the face. Chelsea? So dumb….a very annoying trait.
Looks absolutely fantastic, as per usual, and I cannot wait to see this all unfold next week!
Pratt’s final insult to Y&R fans. This horrific storyline should have ended months ago. Heck, both of the kid’s parents are dead. Awful, just awful.
ABSOLUTELY AGREE…….I HAVE BEEN RECORDING THE SHOW SO I COULD FAST FORWARD THRU THIS MESS…….
I know, right, Sylvia? For beautiful, little Christian’s sake, I do hope Nick is his bio daddy. Not fair to this innocent kid. And, I am truly miffed with the writers for using these kids, time and again, as insensitive means to an end.
Look what ‘they’ have done!! Sure, it’s a soap; but bring some humanity, humility and reality into it.
It’s about to all come down on Sharon
i dont enjoy the chelsea nick possible pairing so i m sure chelsea will lie about the baby s real paternity to trap nick, but once nick learns its adams he goes back to sharon who really were both lied to by dr anderson and now adam, chelsea and sage…
#shick forever!
as much as i wasnt a fan of the last version of dumbdumb dylan i liked him when he was a caring vet paired with avery who was a smart lawyer, it would be a nice touch if avery returns to give sharon hell who was responsible for turning dylans eye and the two could exit the canvas together, although i would really like avery to come back permanently… maybe help the new adam get custody of his child and hook up?!
i also hope the very first adam returns… too many adams..
THE FIRST ADAM WAS NEVER WHAT ADAM WAS ,MORE I SEE JH ON THIS IS US ,THE MORE I COULD NEVER SEE HIM AS ADAM ,ONLY MICHAEL MUHNEY IS ADAM ,AND HE NEEDS TO RETURN ,DYLAN SHOULD BE RECAST AND SHARON SHOULD FINALLY GET A DECENT S/L, AND VICTOR SHOULD FINALLY GET HIS,,THIS IS HIS FAULT TOO,FOR PAYING THE ALLANS TO KEEP QUIET ,JUST LIKE SHARON BEING FRAMED FOR MURDERING AUSTIN AND COURTNEY ,B/C HE BROUGHT MARCO TO GC,
GIve me a break! The baby isn’t Nick’s either. It was Nick’s wifes and Adams child. So much deception – so little time and another storyline that has already been overused. Boring! And the same fallout as always.
Have to wonder if any of next week is based on “dream scenes” ~ can’t remember the dates of Sweeps week, but you can bet this will proceed in slow motion till then.
Next week’s reveal has been SO long coming, and I am looking forward to
the great acting we’ll see, etc. Patty will finally get the secret out of her system,
and maybe will free her to the point of even more lucid moments. That I would
love, and would be an interesting part of the “fall out.”
And to get rid of that awful name Sully, and have Christian back!
Chelsea knows Christian is not Nick’s. What will she do?
I haven’t minded the Sully story. I feel bad for Sharon and Dylan and their family.
Yes, Mo. I agree. But, Dylan is leaving, regardless. It will be so hard for the baby to be ripped from Sharon. She is the only mother he knows.
So, I repeat: I hope Sharon gets real help this time around. Christian will be with Nick and when Sharon gets out, free and healthy; they can be a family. If only….
Chelsea? I hope she does not feel compelled to set her cap for Nick just to get to Adam’s sonny.
She forgets she has another son, who is her real flesh and blood; Johnny.
Thank you both. I agree 100%. So many Sharon haters. I started watching Y&R right after Cassie died, Nick had hooked up with the evil Phyllis and Sharon’s best friend Dru took a dive and hasn’t been seen since. She needs a major break.
I am glad you see what ai see, Mark Y. Many seem to forget that Sharon is mentally ill. She do s not see things the way a normal mind would. She has been so hurt by the Newmans and by others that when she is backed into a corner, she rebels in the best way her mind tells her. She lies and schemes.
I can see the wheels turning in her eyes….just as I saw Nina’s (GH) spinning way out there, today, when she saw Charlotte.
Sharon was not ‘treated’ as a mentally handicapped person should have been treated…..from the onset.
So, now, the PTB will be scrambling hither and yon as to what to do with Sharon.
Oh, and lest we forget, Mariah will be excoriated for being an ‘accomplice’, if she is found out.
Sharon ‘done’ (lol) wrong. But, I give her a pass.
I cannot recall who, but one of our poster friends suggested that Patty divulge the secret that Sully is Christian but not implicate Sharon. I like that idea. However, there is the matter of Sharon’s mental disorder to consider….the elephant in the room. It needs to be confronted and removed for the sake of herself, but, most importantly, her children.
The show needs to let Nick get Christian back and eventually marry Chelsea who keeps the child’s paternity a secret because she wants to be a mother to both of Adam’s sons. When Chelsea is pregnant with Nick’s baby, Adam can return to reclaim his life. At that point Chelsea will be torn between the brothers…until Adam tells Nick that Christian is his son and Chelsea knew all along. Classic soap opera.
OK…you know what: I just gained a whole new respect (or whatever) for Patty…as CRAZY as that sounds…LOL!!!!! I mean…it’s about time that THE TRUTH about Christian/Sully comes out!!!!! I don’t think that Sharon would ever come clean about Christian/Sully herself. Nope. At this point, Sharon is WAY TOO MUCH of a whiny and sniveling COWARD!!!!! Oh…and that LOONEY-TUNEY Sharon dragging and pulling Mariah (HER OWN DAUGHTER!!!!!) into the entire mess…OH, PUH-LEEZ!!!!! Bottom Line Here: Let Sharon’s REAL DOWNFALL begin!!!!!!!!!!
Just saying……….
EXACTLY!! This time let her get what she truly deserves.
Faith should get custody of Sully. She has more brains than Sharon, Mariah and Chelsea combined!
Hiya, Timmmy,
Well, the way I see it; Nick will have custody of both Faith and Christian. Sharon will be shipped off to Fairview again, and Faith will be a ‘stand-in’ Mommy.
Scuttlebutt has it that Victor is the father. NO…I AM KIDDING!!!!!!! …..so, please, y’all, do not repeat it.
But, why not??
That would really set everyone on his/her head, Timmmy.
I was shocked to see Chelsea run to Victor ASAP and she told him the secret was out! Getting him involved will only set off HIS dastardly plans for Christian and it will hurt others including Nick and Victor will say like always, I DID IT FOR MY FAMILY!
Yup, Timmmy. That’s exactly what I said in one of these posts.
It looks to me Chelsea wants the baby. I, also, think she ran to Victor to gain his aid. She probably thinks that because Adam is the father, Victor would only come to one conclusion: help her get Christian. She should actually ask Victor to get a team of lawyers to help her get her own son back.
But, to her chagrin, Victor is thinking logically, so far. He figures, Adam is dead, so the next best, most sensible thing is to just let sleeping dogs lie ( lay….whatever you prefer….LL).
As I said….no one except Nick has any rights to this baby. But, TPTB will spin it any way they wish……until Victor changes his mind; as you say….and wants his grandson. Nothing new here.
‘Nite, Timmmy.
Speaking of Victor, you will be happy to know on February 7th, 2017, Eric Braeden will be releasing his memoir, “I’ll be Damn.” I know you are not a big Victor fan BUT I bet Eric’s story would be a really good read. Cee ya Cee!
Awwwww. That’s cute; ” Cee ya Cee”. I love it.
Well, now….I think I would be very interested in that read. Victor is slime; but, Eric strikes me as having that quiet, keen sense of humor that is high on my list.
You know, my Timmmy….I think he gets it. Not too many people do. One’s mind needs to constantly be on a different plane to achieve that which is borderline real and ridiculous.
I already see it in my son….since he was three, I saw that sharp intuitiveness that just blew me away, for one so young. The kid gets it.
Just the title of the memoir suggests irony, sarcasm and dry humor. Irresistible for one such as I…..as my husband describes me, ” out of left field”. HaHa.
Ciao, babes.
Reading Eric’s interview he mentioned two things he and Victor do have in common. One is their rough childhood and two is if they get punched or knocked down, they both get back up and swing twice as hard!
Yes. I can definitely see that in both the character and the person, Timmmy. Very fitting.
I suppose, by his account, as a child. Eric had to learn the hard way. He kept his eye on the prize. It’s so easy to get lost in the fray. We see it every day , in every corner and phase of life, regardless one’s background.
It is so easy to fall; but so much harder to pick oneself up and go the right direction. Eric/ Victor is a survivor. …..of his own making. Good for him….against all odds.
Not me. The only story I’m looking forward to is Patty telling everyone that Sharon didn’t know the baby wasn’t hers absolving her of any wrongdoing. Then she and Mariah both wipe their brows and say in usion “Whew. That was close.” I’m hoping Sharon gets some happy ever after soon.
ME TOO, I HOPE SALLY AND KAY GIVES HER A BETTER S/L THAN MARIA CHUCK AND THOSE OTHER 2 HAVE IN THE PAST 6 YEARS,,
I am so afraid , Mark. I just got this feeling that Sharon will run off with Christian. I hope not. But, it would be typical of both Sharon and the writing to steer her in that direction.
NICK BETTER OWN IF HE HAD NOT KEPT IT A SECRET AFTER SHARON REMINDED HIM WHAT HE DID TO SANDY ,GETTING A 16 YEAR OLD DRUNK AND TEASING HER INTO DIVING OFF THE HOUSE BALCONY ,HE SHOULD HAVE FOUND SANDY TO SEE HOW SHE WAS ,INSTEAD OF BEGGING SHARON NOT TO TELL, IF HE HAD SANDY WOULD NOT HAVE USED S & S TO GET REVENGE ON HIM.
Nick gets to Raise Christian. Sharen gets hers. Patty gets Cleared of Murder , Gets
lesser charge. Since it was Self Defense.
I am angry at how this all played out because it is still not over. Nick isn’t that babies father and since the father is dead Chelsea would have jurisdiction so to speak on who raises that child and since she screwed Dillon once and Nick already has kids she should raise the baby with Dillon as his surrogate father. Of course God forbid Y&R do something like that instead they will continue to perpetuate this lie and try to get us to swallow that its a good thing that Nick is still being deceived!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

It’s a milestone we couldn’t let pass by without taking some time to celebrate as a family (and, of course… eating some cake). 🍰 We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”

The 16,000th episode will feature Jason Morgan returning to the town of Port Charles, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) reuniting, and a new surgeon, Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) joining the staff of ‘General Hospital.’
