Photo: FOX

More talk shows are coming daytime viewers way come the fall with the announcement of the premiere date for The Masked Singer host, Nick Cannon’s daytime talk show, titled aptly, Nick Cannon.

The company behind the upcoming nationally syndicated series, Debmar-Mercury, says the new show will bow on September 21 and has been cleared in more than 90% of markets in the United States.

According to Deadline: “Cannon’s production company, Ncredible Entertainment, and Debmar-Mercury will co-produce the talker featuring his take on the latest in trending pop culture stories and celebrity interviews.”

Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, co-presidents of Debmar-Mercury, said,  “Our great station partners are hungry for a rising, versatile and dynamic talent like Nick. His light-hearted style quickly wins over viewers and gives them a much-needed escape from the world.  We’ve been asked why we skipped doing test shows and explained there was no need. It’s obvious to anyone who watched Nick guest host for Wendy Williams last year how much he loves daytime talk and, based on the reaction of fans, how much they love him.”

Cannon added: “It’s been thrilling going through this process, and to see the widespread support that the show has received and the milestones we’ve achieved is mind blowing, We’re gearing up to deliver a must-see show and I’m looking forward to coming to you on your TV this fall.”

So, what do you think about Nick Cannon’s new daytime talker coming your way in the fall? Comment below.

God help us lol, we have enough talk shows. Nick is very annoying, I will not watch this garbage. I love the Tamron Hall Show, it got renewed for a second season. She has terrific topics and is a nice lady.

I have not watched daytime tv..
I’m not home during the day to speak of
and I’m too young for that stuff..
Now;
I am on stay home lockdown thing, so
I have been bored out of my mind.
I’ve now witnessed daytime broadcast tv..
and truth- I have never seen that much junk tv,
didn’t know it was that horribly bad.
I can not make my brain comprehend
how sane people can watch that junk.
I watch 2 soaps via the internet,
never watched/seen then on daytime tv.
0ooh Judge Judy is good ..

whoa people actually watch daytime junk tv, whoda thunk.

So, I have no intrest in that guy LOL

Dear God! Don’t we get enough people’s “point of view” with all the talk shows already on the air and the 24/7 “news” shows that do’t report but repetitiously give us the same retreaded opinions all the time? Give me a break! If I want an “escape” I’ll stick with my soaps, thank you very much. Pull the plug now.

I know Talk Is Cheap…and talk shows are cheaper to make than soaps but how many does daytime need…no station is offering anything different!

Another talk show is not needed. They end of having the same guests, talking about the same thing. Unless you’re Ellen, who seems to bring on her friends constantly (Kristen Bell, David Spade, Dax Shepard, etc)

Marcus Coloma On His GH Exit: “I Don’t Know Why That Decision Was Made, But I Don’t Feel Any ill Will and I Didn’t Feel I Got Fired”

This week, GH fans saw Adam Huss returning to the ABC soap opera as Nikolas Cassadine to finish out the rest of the scenes originally intended to be played by Marcus Coloma who ended his three-year run on the show a tad early.

As has been previously reported, Coloma came down with Covid-19 as his final tape days neared, and a decision was made for him to not return to finish off his last run of episodes.

With all the rumors and stances taken by everyone involved, Coloma was the special guest on this week’s episode of the That’s Awesome Podcast hosted by Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson and discussed his departure from the long-running daytime drama series.

Marcus expressed that when he took the role on GH, he was excited to be in that kind of environment (working on a soap opera), and only signed on for three years.  However, as time went by it became more difficult to reconcile leaving when his contract was up, sharing: “You fall in love with the crew and everybody along with it. So, two and a half years in, this decision that was so clear in the beginning is getting complicated.”

The actor added that while, “I knew the end was coming, it wasn’t like GH was saying, ‘Hey, Marcus, we want you to stay.’  There was no negotiation … and all I can say to that is I don’t know why that decision was made, but I don’t feel any ill will and I didn’t feel like I got fired. It just felt like … there was maybe an understanding that I was going to be there for three years. The big surprise is how much it hurt. Even though I knew I was going to leave.”

In the end, Coloma reflected that this may have concluded as it should, adding, “I really do have some big goals and those goals would have never been realized if I would have stayed. That’s not to take anything away from GH because I admire everything about it.”

Watch the episode of That’s Awesome featuring Coloma below.

Then weigh-in, what do you think of Marcus’ thoughts on his exit as GH’s Nikolas Cassadine? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
