OLTL 45: Agnes Nixon Sends Message To Fans Read By Erika Slezak! – Watch the Video!

Today on this very special celebration for the fans of One Life to Live, the series 45th anniversary,  creator Agnes Nixon sent a very special message to them and to everyone involved in the show!

Illustrating in her words how One Life to Live came in to being and how it was only originally given six months by ABC, Agnes tells the story of how this show, this most wonderful show filled with so much human drama,  came to be.

But what makes it all the more heartfelt is that on this week’s episode of MORE One Life to Live, the letter is read by Erika Slezak (Viki). And as fans know, Erika gives credit and her utmost respect and love to Agnes for her enduring career and for casting her, and creating the extraordinary world of Viki Lord!

Now after the jump, get ready to watch this very special anniversary message, but we suggest if you are a die-hard One Lifer and have fought for this show to come back from the dead, that you have a hankie nearby!

With love to all of you, who have stood by and watched One Life to Live for decades, and in it’s new incarnation with Prospect Park.  Llanview is forever in our hearts, and is still going strong!

I’m with everyone else. OLTL has always been my favorite for 45 wonderful years. I have watched AMC (when Tad and Dixie are together), GH, Y&R, and others sporadically but OLTL is my all time favorite. Thank you Agnes Nixon, PP and all the stars of the best soap ever.

I’ve loved this show for as long as I can remember, and I’m 32 now. My grandma watched, who passed it on to my mom, who then passed it on to my sister and I. These characters have been like a second family to me, and I’m truly grateful to Agnes for creating them, and to Prospect Park for bringing them back. Happy 45th anniversary One Life to Live, and here’s hoping for 45 more!!

AMC had Susan Lucci-GH had Luke and Laura…They
may have had the buzz, the notoriety and were familiar to the casual
and the occasional viewer
but One Life to Live was the daytime drama devotee’s
true favorite

I love this show! I have watched it since 1978 and even though there have been many many MANY times I’ve wanted to slap the crap out of many characters (and head writers who split up Bo and Nora but I digress) I have never given up. I have threatened but I could never quit my precious Llanview. The year in between I spent writing a couple fan fiction (Bo and Nora related of course!) and watching clips of all my favorites. But the reboot – and the pride in Ms. Nixon’s voice (via Ms. Slezak) have proven to me… Read more »

Miles Gaston Villanueva Joins More Soap Alums in Amazon’s ‘The Boys’

Three men, who all at one time or the other were on daytime or primetime soaps, have been added to the cast of the Amazon’s hit series, The Boys.

Former Y&R star, Miles Gaston Vilanueva (Ex-Luca) will team up with another Y&R alum Sean Patrick Flanery (Ex-Sam) and former Revenge star Nick Wechsler (Ex-Jack) when all three will play superheroes in the upcoming third season now in production in Toronto.

According to Deadline, in story, The Boys subverts the superhero genre, imagining a present day where awesome avengers, controlled by the unscrupulous Vought corporation, purport to stand for “truth and justice” while secretly committing heinous acts.

Villanueva will play Supersonic, while Wechsler will take on the role of Blue Hawk and Flanery will play gunpowder.  All three roles will be recurring through The Boys third season.

In addition, former DAYS and Supernatural star, Jensen Ackles is also part of the cast.
