The woman who made that story work so well is now a Tony Award nominee! Of course we are talking about the multi-talented Renee Elise Goldsberry, who has been killing it every night in the Pulitzer Prize winning musical Hamilton on BroadwayOn Tuesday, Goldsberry got the news that she is a Tony nominee for her performance.  As well Hamilton came away with 16 nominations the most in Tony Award history.

In the cutest moment of the morning, Renee posted a photo of herself with her daughter on Instagram expressing:  “Watched the Tony noms with my baby girl this morning! I am so grateful for her and for all of God’s perfect blessings! I am so humbled by this nomination. And I am high on all this love…”

Goldsberry is nominated in the Best Featured Actress in a Musical category and will go up against another former soaper, Jane Krakoswki (Ex- Search For Tomorrow) nominated for She Loves Me.  But the One Life to Live love does not stop there, the extremely-talented Jonathan Groff (Ex-Henry) was also nominated for his role in Hamilton for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.    For the complete list of Tony nominations click here.

Congratulations to Renee. She did a super job as the wonderful Evangeline Williamson on our beloved One Life to Live. I loved Evangeline and John McBain together. They were on fire. And it was such a special treat when she sang. Her voice is just beautiful. Crossing my fingers for her Tony win.

This is FANTASTIC news!!! Congratulations, Renee! It’s wonderful that she’s doing so well on Broadway. I hope she wins the Tony!

John McBain and Evangeline Williamson were by far the BEST couple that daytime had seen in long time! Michael Easton and Renee Goldsberry portrayed their characters with such heart. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for OLTL and JoVan!

So talented! Loved her on OLTL, and she was excellent (but underused) in The Good Wife. I think she is a lock to win the Tony for “Hamilton”!

So happy for this beautiful, talented young lady. She always shined bright on OLTL. Was lucky enough to see her in the original ” The Color Purple” and “Rent”. A gifted singer and actress.

Cheryl Burke Tests Positive for COVID-19 Ahead of Tonight’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Dancing with the Stars’ Cheryl Burke announced via an emotional Instagram video on her account on Sunday that she was not feeling well, and tested positive for Covid-19.  Burke had been vaccinated and is another breakthrough Covid case.  Burke had been fully vaccinated via Moderna.

Burke’s diagnosis means that she must quarantine for the next ten days and will miss tonight’s second episode of the new season of the ballroom-dance competition series.  She has been partnered with Pelonton’s Cody Rigsby.

How will Burke’s departure affect Rigsby in terms of the competition? ABC says it will address it on Monday’s night’s show.  However Good Morning America” reported that Rigsby has been tested for COVID-19, and if he comes back negative he will perform with an alternate pro dancer.

It is now also most certain that Burke will miss next week’s show as well.

In her post, Cheryl shared to her fans she was on her way to get a Covid test, then she shared after getting tested: “I am positive which means I have Covid.”

She went on to say, “It’s so overwhelming because it’s Sunday and the show’s tomorrow. I figured I should let you guys know since I’ve been as open and as a real and as vulnerable as I could be here.  I just hope I didn’t spread it. For those of you who don’t think COVID is a real thing, it’s f–king real, dude.”

The pro dancer also related how upset she was to let her celebrity partner, Cody Rigsby, down by having to exit the show for now.

So, what do you think about Burke’s exit from the series and her emotional message? You can watch it below. Then, share your thoughts via the comment section.

General Hospital

Nancy Lee Grahn Debuted 25 Years Ago Today as General Hospital’s Alexis Davis

Back on September 26th, 1996, (25 years ago today!) the new character of Alexis Davis made her debut on ABC’s General Hospital, and brought to the iconic soap opera, the talents of Nancy Lee Grahn.

Grahn, had already made a name for herself with her captivating portrayal of lawyer Julia Wainwright Capwell on Santa Barbara for which she won a Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy in 1989, in a tie with AMC’s Debbi Morgan.

Back in April, General Hospital, marked this milestone with a special episode for Grahn, that could be remembered come next year’s Emmys.

Alexis, or shall we call her “Natasha”, was introduced on GH as the daughter of Mikkos Cassadine and his mistress, whose throat was slit by Helena Cassadine, which has played into Alexis’ story for many years to come.  At the time of her entrance to the show, Wendy Riche was GH’s executive producer.

Through the years, viewers have witnessed Grahn’s portrayal of: a tough legal eagle, an honest depiction of a woman battling the bottle, failed romances, while all the time being a loving and faithful mother to her three daughters, Sam, Molly, and Kristina.

Nancy won her second Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy, this time for her role as Alexis in 2012, and has been a multi-nominee in the Lead Actress category for her performances on the ABC daytime drama series.

Kate Grahn, Nancy’s daughter took to social media within the last few hours since we posted this story to share a video on how thankful she and her mom are to GH fans and Nancy’s time on the show which afforded her the ability to have and raise Kate.  Check that out below.

Here’s to Nancy for giving us 25 years of her on-screen work as Alexis!

Congratulate Nancy and tell us your favorite Alexis Davis moments via the comment section.
