Six-time Daytime Emmy winner, Erika Slezak (Viki) of One Life to Live had her longtime beloved fan club president, Walter Miller, post her thoughts on today’s devastating developments of the series cancellation.

Slezak, the centerpiece of OLTL for decades had this to pass along to everyone: “Please tell all our fans how deeply sorry I am to be losing this wonderful show that has so much heart and so much life. I will miss my work, my friends, my OLTL family so very much. I consider this to be a terrible loss to the television community and especially to the New York community.”

Erika, will have a new interview next week in her newsletter where she will address more of her sentiments.   How can we fathom not being able to see the greatest soap actress of them all off our television screens come January 2012?  A hard pill to swallow!

I wish another station even a cable station would pick OLTL up This is so sad An no one wants more talk shows we have enough I’m gonna miss OLTL there will be nothing on now to watch I hope all the actors and staff find new jobs and we continue seeing them thank god for facebook and twitter

Yes, OLTL cast & Story will be Greatly missed, so sad today. I will be done with ABC, nothing left there.

FOR GOD’S SAKE! DON’T GIVE UP!!!! HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK???? We’ve declared WAR on ABC and FRONS! We are mobilizing and it’s working!!! CALL HERSHEY’S chocolate, tomorrow, before 4PM EDT! THEY ARE LISTENING, but they want to hear from at least 10,000 of us by close of business tomorrow! CALL 1-800-468-1714. Keep it short, keep it clean, keep it nice. Catch more flies with honey than vinegar!

BEST SHOW! watch it before any other # 3 rated soap opera and still cancelled? so sad SOMEONE pick em up as a subscription even! I would pay to see my other families on a daily basis! HELP

BOYCOTT ABC. All the actors and actresses are amazing on OLTL. Erica you are an icon. You are amazing, talented and full of grace. Don’t think you will ever understand the true role you took on and what it meant to so many people you never met. Thank you. It has been an honor to watch your performances. Can’t live with out OLTL.

SMH!!!

Erika is the reason I not only became a soap fan but stayed a soap fan for 20 years. She is the epitome of class and grace. I cannot imagine my tv without Victoria Lord! I can only hope that someone, some network can save the real daytime tv, the drama. I know I have no desire to watch anything on OLTLs time slot! The last thing I want is more reality tv! I want the Buchanans!

This really makes me almost cry just thinking about it. Watching Erika play Viki for all these years has been a joy for me. It’s an escape from reality which is what we all need sometimes. That is why it makes no sense to have all these stupid reality TV shows on now and lose these great soap operas.

Another cooking show? If we want to watch this, we have the food network which
works. Another health show? If we want that, all I have to watch is the Biggest Loser
and the Doctors which works. What we need is our soaps, listen to the loyal peeps.

This awful news hurts me more than I can express. We Love You, Erika!

To have a job that long is an honor, and I will miss you and the cast of OLTL. I watched this show for years and stopped watching when I went to college. I tuned in when “The Eterna” fiasco was going on and said, I will come back. Years later, I found Soap Net and got hooked. I was so glad you were still on the show.

I remember Joe, Karen, Dante, Larry, Elijah Blue, Megan, Luna and so many other characters. But right now, this has been the best storytelling in YEARS! Keep up the good work. You all will not be forgotten.

Erika is such the heroine to me. I have not missed one single episode of OLTL and she was a big reason I watched this show faithfully for 41 years. I will miss this show to be sure.

I was pregnant in 1971, and have watched the show for 40 years, my son will be 40 in Oct, and my brother Walter (Erika’s fan club president) started the club the day after my son was born!! Last nite I didn’t sleep, I feel llike a member of my family has died. I hope every new show fails on ABC. This is devasting news and I still can’t beleive it. I would hope maybe CBS could put OLTL on their schedule.
I love you Erika and OLTL forever.,

I have been watching OLTL for 30 years. I love Vicky. She is like a member of my family. I wish, I was in the fan club. I hope all of ABC daytime shows fail. I hope another station picks it up.

So sorry to see the show end. I have watched for many years and am very sad to see the news reports today. I wish all of the actors on these two great shows all the luck in the world and know that you will be sorely missed.

DON’T GIVE UP!!!! HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK???? We’ve declared WAR on ABC and FRONS! We are mobilizing and it’s working!!! CALL HERSHEY’S chocolate, tomorrow, before 4PM EDT! Catch more flies with honey than vinegar!

CALLED EM ALL BEEN SO NICE NOW WHAT HOW DO WE LOGICALLY SAVE OUR SOAPS??? ITUNES who is willing to pay a monthly fee for these soaps? MEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! lets do this!!!!!!!!!!!1

I can’t believe it. There are people in the world who don’t want 24-hour reality. I, for one, like to be entertained for an hour or two. I hope the thousands of negative comments ABC is already receiving will prompt a change of heart.

BOTH OF THESE SOAPS I HAVE WATCHED FROM THE BEGINNINGAND ALL THEY HAVE GIVEN ME IN 40 YEARS THERE ARE NO WORDS! MY HEARTFELT GRATITUDE FOR ALL THE LOVE AND WORK EVERYONE HAS PUT INTO THEM THEY MADE A DIFFRENCE IN MY LIFE I FEEL LIKE I AM SAYING GOODBYE TO A FAMILY MEMBER!ERICA SLEZAK IS THE MOST INCREDIBLY GIFTED ACTRESS IN TELEVISON SHE IS ALWAYS SO GRACIOUS AND ALWAYS GIVES CREDIT TO THE WRITERS BUT FOR HER TO MOVE PEOPLE IN THE WAY SHE HAS TAKES INCREDIBLE TALENT! THERE IS NO ONE WHO CAN MAKE ME FEEL WHAT SHE DOES! HER FAMILY IS SO EXTREMELY BLESSED TO HAVE HER. I WISH SOMTHING IN THIS LIFE WOULD NOT BE ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR! IT IS SO UNFAIR ON EVERY LEVEL!I WISH EVERYONE A HEARTFELT THANK YOU AND GODS BLESSING IN THERE NEXT ENDEAVORS! PEACE AND PRAYERS ELLEN KEARNEY

Erika, I want you to know that we are fighting to keep the soaps on the air! We do not want to see OLTL end and have all of you wonderful actors be out of your job you love so much. You are a wonderful woman and actress, none of you deserve this, and us fans sure don’t deserve to have these shows taken away, especially when most of us have been watching since childhood. My mom and I have set up a group on facebook, we are sending complaints, signing petitions and everything to do everything we can to change this decision! Please pass this on to everyone at OLTL for me, and if you ever are on facebook, our group is called SAVE ABC SOAPS. We love you.

Having met Erika on many occasions I am devastated that this talented actress will no longer grace our screens on OLTL. Indeed Erika is a rare jewel and ABC really has messed up big time by canceling One Life to Live and All My Children. I can’t believe the replacements “The Chew” “The Revolution”. Are they kidding me or what? When they bomb..don’t blame anyone but yourselves for your really ridiculous decisioon to do away with these two phenomenal daytime serials.

YEP NO ABC OR DISNEY FOR ME. MY POOR 8 yr old has no idea why she cant watch good luck charlie… OH WELL!!!!!!!!!!! She can watch ICARLY! its better anyways

Thanks for bringing us her comments. Such a class act. And no corporate PR BS either. I’ll miss seeing her and the rest of Llanview so much. Been watching since Viki went heaven 23 years ago. Ugh.

PLEASE!

If nothing can save OLTL than I hope that people from the talented cast create a kick ass web series with Erika and Robin as the 2 rivals. That would get me to tune in.

come on over to Days of our lives

I am so sad to see you leave. I have watched for a longtime and love OLTL. It brings tears to my eyes.I am done withABC and will NOT watch anything they put on to replace these two GREAT soaps. I can only hope that another network picks them up.Perhaps Opera will,as she is a big fan. I wish the best to all of you and will miss you greatly.

Mr. Fairman thank you for your website years ago it was considered taboo or stupid to watch a soap now look at the medium. Second Ms. Slezak has always been a class act. Fans feel they have lost a member of their family when they cried we cried etc. Good luck OLTL & AMC actors producers directors we will miss you and the joy and the heartache you brought into our lives!!!!!

I have been watching One Life To Live since it came on. We are retired Navy in all of the moves that we went through I knew that I had my favorite Soap to watch and look forward to everyday. Some days the only time that I would turn the TV on during the day was to watch Vicki and Dorian.

We have enough talk shows and cooking shows. ABC you have made a bad decision as far as I am concerned.

Maybe Oprah OWN is in the market for a soap with a built in and loyal fan base.

This has been such a disappointing day. I have been watching OLTL thanks to my mother for now 29 years. I have never missed an episode that I know of Thanks to the VCR (when my mom would record the shows when I was at school) soapnet and my lovely DVR which saves me while at work. I use to watch all the ABC soaps, up until the past few years. AMC lost my interest around the time Josh Duhamel left, and GH I jump back to once in a blue but does not capture me the way OLTL does with a faithful cast. Although there are a few other shows I like on ABC like Castle and Greys Anatomy I will definitely stop watching them if OLTL goes off the air and I will say good by to ABC because they are taking away a great part of TV and history for another food and health show that is not needed along with the rest of reality TV. My dream of my son growing up to not only watch the show with his mother but to maybe one day have a chance to be on the show( big dreams) has been killed. I truly hope another network is smart enough to pick up the show and its excellent cast

THIS IS VERY SAD ,IT WOULD BE EASIER TO TAKE IF THEY WERE REPLACING THE SOAPS WITH SOMETHING WORTH WHILE BUT THEY’RE NOT .I WILL NEVER WATCH ABC DAY TIME AGAIN ,WHEN I CHECKED THE ABC GUIDE I REALIZED I ONLY WATCHED TWO PRIMETIME SHOWS ON ABC AN D THEY WERE BOTH PRIMTIME SOAPS NOTHING ELSE WAS WORTH WHILE I GUESS AFTER JAN I WON’T BE WATCHING ABC AGAIN .OLTL IS THEIR BEST DATTIME AND PRIMETIME SOAP. I WILL MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH .IT WAS MY ONE HR ESCAPE FROM MY REAL LIFE SOAP .I CAN’T REPLACE THAT WITH THE TRASH THEY ARE !

OMG SO SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtf else can we do they say the customer is always right well we are the customer and we want OUR SOAP

I’ve been a fan of One Life To Live since the eighties.. Erika does a wonderful job of entertaining us and she and all the others will be missed.. I think ABC has made a bad decision and i think these new shows won’t do well i know i won’t be watching.

Dear Vicki
So many of your fans and the shows fans will miss you more than I can say, myself at the top of the list. If tears could be measured there would be a mountain full.I keep praying that someone will pick the shows up and keep them going for all of you and all of us.Maybe sattilite could. Who wants another cooking show or a Lid=festyle show; who cares??? I will give up ABC completely as beyond my fav soaps there is nothing else worth watching. Don’t give up beautiful lady something may still change for all of us.
You are loved by so many now and forever!!!! God Bless!

OLTL was my first soap. Watched it with my mother. I remember when Erika took over the role. It’s really hard to imagine these show ending.

Thanks for the memories.

DEAR ERIKA , I SENT THIS TO BRIAN FRONS ON ABC.ATTENTION BRAIN FRONS!!!!WHY CAN’T YOU, INSTEAD OF SHOWING DISNEY CARTOONS 24 HRS A DAY(WHAT KID IS UP AT 2AM?) ON SOAPNET LEAVE THE SOAPS ON SOAPNET.THIS WAY THE SUITS ARE HAPPY AND THE VIEWER’S ARE HAPPY OR IS THAT NOT MAKING YOU ENOUGH MONEY?? TAKE A LOOK AT FACEBOOK READ THE COMMENTS ON AMC AND OLTL.SEE HOW MANY VIEWER’S ARE MAD AS HELL.PLEASE TAKE A LOOK DO WE THE VIEWER’S MEAN ANYTHING AT ALL TO YOU OR ABC??

RIGHT???? OMG so sick of this i am so heartsick! I WANT MY SOAPS

This is terrible news, I have been watching One Life to Live for 26 years along with tons of friends, we are all upset…lets please try to stop this from happening, i sent a letter to ABC…who wants to watch more cooking and talk shows….Soaps are the real tv shows!

I don’t refer to Erika Slezak as just “Erika Slezak”. She’s the Helen Mirren of Daytime, which means she’s DAME Erika Slezak. She is daytime acting royalty. She has been incredibly classy in her 40 years on the air. Her interviews have always been gracious, and she has been a trooper even in the face of howlingly bad storylines (Eterna, anyone?). She needs a feature film to showcase her talents, stat. After November, producers need to be pounding down her door begging for her to work with them.

This IS a sad moment for daytime TV and for it’s fans! It is definately the end of an era for ABC! It is very sad to know that we’re going to lose such a treasured show like “One Life To Live”! I’ve watched this show for nearly 38 years, and I remember all of the great storylines, as well as the great actors who’ve graced this show over the years, some of whom went on to even great success ( Tommy Lee Jones & Laurence Fishburne are 2 good examples of this ), and I’m even sadder for the wonderful Erika Slezak, whom I’ve always loved as Vicki, and love even more so now!!!! Thank you so much, OLTL, for all the wonderful drama and entertainment you have given us!!! ABC’S daytime schedule just won’t be the same after this!

Dear Vickie, Please know that we are all heart sick over this terrible news. You have been part of my TV viewing since I was a child. I grew up with you, your children and many husbands, lovers……. The pain, joy and terrific acting you have done is deeply appreciated. Thank you so much! You will be forever loved! A devoted fan, Paul

I can’t imagine daytime tv without one life to live. You will all be greatly missed.
Best wishes to everyone.
A fan since the beginning,
Diane

It’s really about the dollars. ABC is looking for way to make cheaper programming. Sadly, quality is becoming a thing of the past. I shall miss OLTL. I watched the first episode some 40 years ago. I hope to watch the final one.

Erika you are a real role model. Viki is a model of what “good behavior” should be…Niki on the other hnd is not…Just so many memories of this wonderful soap. I love the Dorian and David Vickers scenes…I can’t get enough of his silliness. THIS DECISION REALLY STINKS….BRIAN FRONS IS AN IDIOT!!!

Why didnt they take a poll? Why dont they ask us what we like to watch? This is a bad idea. I have watched one life to live and all my children since they began. They are like my family. It is a good show. Even my parents who are retired watch it. There are to many cooking shows. I will not watch the replacement shows. The soaps offer good conversation and learning. They do shows on cancer and divorce and single moms and on and on. It is a great escape from your own problems. Do not take it away.

Dearest Ms. Slezak– as a two-year old child, I genuinely remember being in front of the television in 1968 watching OLTL. I actually have toddler-aged memories of your acquisition of the role of Viki–I had watched a LOT of TV as a child; especially the ABC line-up with all of it’s drama–because you, at once, infused & epitomized the character with a grace, eloquence & angelic beauty that could only have come from within. Your voice, diction, inflections and annunciation of the English language brings a unmatched comfort I have known since diapers–all of my life. I saw Francesca James’ Marcy Wade plant red wigs & guns all over the place; trying to gaslight Viki!! In the late 70’s & early 80’s –during the Luke & Laura era– I would RUSH home when school in the Bronx, where I lived, let out at 2:30p.m. just to catch the last 10 minutes of One Life. Sure, GH was all the rage, and I was right along with it, but Llanview–Viki & Joe, Larry & Karen, Jenny & Brad, Wanda, Vinnie, Ed & Carla, Herb & Dorian–was where my heart truly resided. In a late-teen auto-trek to California, I remember stopping in Arizona, plugging in the black&white to a gas station outlet and watching you, Robin Strasser and Andrea Evans open boxes Victor Lord had left for the 3 of you in the secret room beneath Llanfair. Our friends got hooked when they saw Viki slap Tina across the face!! In my early twenties, before we could afford a VCR, I would scribble a few tag lines from each scene so I could do my best to recreate the episode, scene by scene, for my partner when he came home in the evenings. Our dearest friend, an artist with as many eccentricities as I have –which number quite a few(!)– and I created “Niki’-cards: Day-glo bright carboard rectangles we carried in our wallets for years with a picture of you in your most outrageous outfits whilst portraying your infamous, second-most played character on the front and a poem we composed on the back. (I can’t put my hands on it right now, but it was an ‘ok to love yourself’ -themed set of couplets that ended with the line: “..and you will find your Niki.” ) Once we’d gotten our own apartment, we christened our first VCR “Tina” for Andrea and our first TV, “Viki”, for you. The ONLY time I strayed was during the Rappaport-era’s heyday–and I always stayed abreast of Llanview’s goings-ons and rejoined the daily fold during Andrea Evans’ most recent return. I have hung-out on E. 66th Street waiting for sightings & autographs only a handful of times in my life, but it always felt magical–being in such proximity to “Llanview.” I cannot comprehend television without your presence and your character, Viki’s presence other than you yourself stating that you were tired and/or done. I wish I had a “Jean Randolph” to put me on auto-pilot and contain the despair I feel at the thought of losing our beloved Llanview; a “Niki Smith” to diminish the pain with silly distractions; or even a “Tori”–to take that em-effer, Brian Frons OUT!! (LOL!) –Thank you, Ms. Slezak, for performances so genuine, so riveting, so unforgettable– that making such a statement is in no way as silly as it may sound. You have provided for me–and countless others, I am sure– a beacon of class and decency to aspire to. I pray this message finds you resolved and joyous in your creation and her effects. Thank you, MarcAnthony.

I think you said what all of us are feeling. Thank you for taking the time to put it down with such eloquency. I think Erica and Robyn Strasser ARE OLTL. I will always remember the characters with fondness…like old dear friends.

iI use to watch, general hospital with luke n Laura. but, when Laura left so did i. But, now i found oltl i just cant seem to stop watching . I want more, thats why i cant understand why there canceling the best soap on television. Cant you cancel general hospital, or young and restless, Those showes have had it. how many time will Arica marrie, or I`m sick of mobsters in G.H. I love Tess alter, now Nicki`s back. mcbane is getting better. ,even the new Jack seems better. I started watching when Star got pragrant. then , I was stuck. I even try to figure out what the writes are thying to do. Well, i love the whole crew. there the reason i keep watching take them off and i`ll be very disapointed. betty

i will truly miss seeing erica as vicky she has gotten more beautyful as the years have gone by good by to a very classy and beautyful lady godspeed. richard

ERIKA;
LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! you are amazing and I will miss seeing you everyday! So sad this is happening I have sent so many emails and made tons of phone calls! Help us find a way be it Itunes or PPV or whatever I would pay a monthly fee to see my soap! And OLTL is MY soap!

i am sorry thatv the show is going off and iam bagging anyone that is listening to this b.s. why are you taking it off the air. what are we suppose to do for the rest of the time that we have left . amc and oltl is our life. hope you are not putting more talk shows in they place. you are massing everybodies tv time. i wish you would give it a second to thinking about what do are doing to tv viewers. i thank you for thinking about what you are doing to the soap opera viewers

ericka you are so good all three of you and i am specially going to miss you. you are a good actress and a very good vicki

I think the last thing we need is another reality show or a food show.

There has got to be another TV station that will take on OLTL, I watch it at night, every night since I am at work all day long. Is there anything being done to do this? I am with the person that stated “another cooking show” come on gives us a break….. I hope something positive happens before this show comes to an end.

I cannot believe that ABC is dropping One Life To Live and All My Children from the network. I have been watching both of these soaps since day one. I certainely do not want to see a cooking show or a talk show taking their places. Once these soaps end I will not watch any shows ABC has to offer in their time slots. I think these people that cancelled these soaps really need to give their heads a shake and realize that they are going to lose sooo many viewers. I think they better really think again about cancelling these two shows. I am a true and loyal soap fan to One Life To Live and All My Children and always will be.

I am just devastated. I have missed only a dozen episodes since maybe 1974. ABC has really messed with its fans one time too many this time.

My heart is just breaking, I feel as though I am going through the grieving process as I watch my favorite daytime shows come to a close. It’s like loosing my best friends to a slow painful death. I will not watch any ABC shows during the daytime. I wish there was something the fans could do to put our favorite shows back on.

Beyond sad. What a terrific show for years with all great talent and always an interesting plot. Sure hope ABC knows what there doing. I think the Executive staff should have been replaced.

As the clock ticks down on my favorite show…I feel such sadness. I have been a fan since ’68. OLTL has always been like a good book…that never ends! (until now) The characters are so entertaining and enjoyable. After working long hours, I always carved out time to just relax and watch my taped daily dose of Llandview antics! Who needs more “reality” shows or cooking shows??? What’s wrong with a short time away from REALITY! I am the same age as Erica Slezak and feel like she is family. I wish her and the rest of the cast the best of luck! I’m so sorry that it can’t be picked up on the internet…I would gladly pay to continue watching.

I WATCHED THIS SHOW WITH MY GRANDMA SINCE I WAS BORN. I CANT LIVE WITHOUT THIS SHOW! I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF GREEDY PEOPLE ONLY CARING ABOUT THE ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR. WHAT ABOUT WHAT THE FANS WANT?!? ARE YOU EVEN THINKING OF THEM?!? IF THEY DO CANCEL THIS SHOW, I’LL MAKE SURE TO DOWNGRADE IT TO EVERYONE I KNOW AND I WILL BOYCOTT ALL ABC SHOWS.

I always looked forward to watching my two favorite soaps in the evening; One life to Live & All My Children. The real slap in the face is what’s replacing these shows. Food & reality shows. As if we need anymore of these. The soaps were not only fun to watch but many of the story lines dealt with real life situations. They’ve been a part of my life for many years. I’m deeply saddened & hurt.

Dear Erika, I’ve been watching OLTL for 39 yrs. I am so sad to see such a beloved soap show leave. I’m such a huge fan, I love all the cast but you are my favorite. Your just to wonderful for words. It may sound silly but you and OLTL are like family. I watched the 14 hour marathon and did alot of crying and this final week is really going to be hard. It’s the only soap I watch. I will never watch anything on ABC again. I’m sick of all the talk/reality/food shows. Istopped watching all of them a year ago, its trash!!!! Thank you for all the wonderful years of pure enjoyment, what am I going to do without you and OLTL? I’m going to miss Bo, have a life time crush on him. I loved Clint Richie, was sorry to learn of his passing, the two of you were perfect. I’m still hoping Prospect Park will pick-up OLTL, the fans will follow you by the millons!!!! Take care, Be Happy, Be Well. God Bless you and everyone at OLTL. Love Ya, Carole

I personally will not watch ABC again once One Life to LIve concludes. I started watching it when I was in high school on days I was home from school. Later I watched it as a young housewife. Today, I watch it as a woman with a job and career. This is a slap in the face for fans everywhere. NOTE: I have not watched “Chew” since All My Children was cancelled. And I won’t watch the revolution either. These replacements are lame………whoever came up with this idea was out of his head and obviously doesn’t care if ABC has viewers or not!

To all of the cast & crew of One Life To Live & All My Children. Once both shows are over I will no longer watch ABC. There is nothing that they could ever replace the soaps that could compare to these two shows. I feel like I have lost part of my family not be able to see all of the cast of these shows. I truly miss being able to sit down and relax while watching these two shows. Will miss all of you and hope to see you in some other shows. Or maybe ABC will wake up and realize the stupid mistake they have made and somehow resurrect the shows. Good luck to all of you!

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

Published

By

Dominic Zamprogna

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy  for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.
