Photos: AP/ABC

Time to immobilize the troops! One thing we know is when soap fans rally they are often heard and sometimes can make quite an impact.  Everyone has been wondering what is the status of the All My Children primetime reboot, Pine Valley.

After getting word that the pilot and show were in development for ABC with AMC alums Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo) as two of the executive producers along with Andrew Stearn, Bob Nixon, and Leo Richardson, from a script by Richardson, so far the series has not gotten an official pick-up.

After being inundated by direct messages on Twitter and more, Richardson took to social media to update fans on where things are at with the return to Pine Valley-primetime style.

Leo shared: “Been getting a lot of DM’s on here and IG about #PineValley recently. No update YET… I wrote the script, true to what I pitched and sold to ABC, and we are waiting now. I am incredibly proud of what we have cooked up and we will keep you posted. Fingers crossed for us pls.”

The talented writer and showrunner who has also worked on EastEnders, Katy Keene and Star, followed that tweet up with call-to-action: “and if you want it, make some noise and let  @ABCNetwork and @ABCSignature  know!!”

So, are you still hoping that Pine Valley gets on the air? If so, let us know in the comment section below, and start tweeting and writing to ABC and ABC Signature!

The writers need to give us some insights about the storylines. We need classic AMC modernized for prime time. Any hints of poisoned pancakes, unabortions or a mad scientist doctor reviving people from the dead and the new show is dead in its tracks.

WABC, please stop disappointing All My Children loyal fans! We have been so looking forward to Pine Valley coming to the airwaves. I think we could do without the extra hour of GMA3 one day a week! It could be aired on Fridays!!! Please, please, please!

I would rather see Springfield and Bay City over Pine Valley! I wasn’t much of an AMC fan though.

I’m cautiously optimistic about this, but it concerns me that this writer hails from England and probably isn’t too familiar with the original show. Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos don’t seem like the best people to capture the spirit of All My Children, either. I’m really annoyed that this reboot is focused on the Kane and Santos families instead of the Martins and Chandlers. If the recent E! Reunion thrown by Eva LaRue is any indication, it won’t be very good.

F YEAH, I want my Pine Valley back!!

Better AMC than big brother, survivor or the bachekor

Survivor is a far better show. It may not be your cup of tea but it has a huge fan base. Both Big Brother are on CBS which wouldn’t have anything to do with AMC anyway!

I would love it if AMC would come back on tv. I watched from when they first aired and watched everyday. Love all the actors and storyline. Please bring it on.

Yes Please! I really miss the show!

Loved All My Children watched from when it started until the end. Love Kelly Ripa Marc and Susan Lucci. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!!

AMC will never be back- it is long dead.
Whatever they have in mind to rejuvenate it will fail.
It’s either AMC or an ongoing sequel, with the original actors/cast
and continued stories.
and that it can not be.
To all the AMC fans it will be a huge disappointment.
I doubt it will be picked up by any network
and if by a miracle it would be it would but one season/canceled.
it’s mainly in hopes of AMC fans to carry it onward that will be a fail.
🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 gotta be realistic 🙁

SuOOO
I agree. The original actors is what made it the great show it was then. Most of them are long gone and the great characters and stars that portrayed them at the end are gone or on other shows except for Susan Luci.Sorry, but can not see Mark and Kelly resurrecting this show. They just need to leave it as a good memory.

hi Violet–hope you’re doing well..
yes– it’s the actors that were loved not so much the soap..
the actors and their portrayal of their characters was the show
a revamp with a new cast and no continuation of their stories
will, without a doubt be a huge disappointment and failure..
It can not and will not be anything like their loved AMC–

Been a fan of AMC since it began in the 70’s. Even turned one of my late husbands into a fanatical fan. It seems like I’ve lost my dearest friends when it shut down.
Please do your reboot and stabilize my world.
Thank You.

Yes bring back AMC we sure can use another dose of La Lucci aka Erica Kane Martin Brent Cudahy Chandler Roy Montgomery Montgomery Marick Marick Montgomery.

Pine Valley needs to replace GMA3 pronto!

Please bring back AMC! Don’t care if it is on at night or day. We all miss watching the show soooo much!!

Leo Richardson just deleted his Twitter… seems like bad news from ABC..

Mark Consuelos Celebrates One-Year Anniversary as Co-Host of ‘Live’ Alongside Kelly Ripa

Today, April 17th marks a full-year since Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children) took over the co-hosting duties of ‘Live” alongside his wife, and longtime co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, All My Children).

Consuelos replaced Ryan Seacrest who are six seasons decided to be back on the west coast full-time. For Consuelos, now having the opportunity to work off of Ripa as co-hosts has been something of adjustment for him, but viewers have been eating it up.

Live with Kelly and Mark has remained the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television over the past year, growing 3% in average total viewers to 2.23M per episode.  It is also the most-watched daytime talk show in the last year in key demos of women 18-49 and women 25-54. All of this, since the real-life marrieds teamed-up.

Speaking with Deadline, Kelly Ripa shared why the two are gelling on-screen, “I do think that there is something very possibly relatable about our relationship. We have disagreements like a normal couple, and we’re not afraid to let them unfold on the air and in front of America, and I think people find a lot of themselves in that.”

Mark weighed in how he has progressed as a host, and what he could improve at, sharing, “I’d like to get better at my interviewing skills. I’d like to get better at reading a teleprompter…I think I’m getting better at throwing to commercial. The other day in the middle of the show as we go to commercial, my sign off was ‘See you guys around.’ I mean, the show wasn’t over. The most obvious thing to say would be, ‘We’ll be back right after this.’ But I just said, ‘See you around.’ So we went to commercial and one of the producers (goes) ‘What was that?’ I don’t know… So for the next few sign offs, as a joke, I’d say ‘See you around.’ We got a kick out of it.”

Meanwhile, Kelly has given huge props to Mark, “I find Mark utterly compelling, really interesting, super funny, and he’s bold in a way like nobody else. He says what’s on his mind. If he’s thinking it, he says it.  I’ve done this a long time and oftentimes people will adjust their natural personalities to pander to what they think the audience wants to hear, and Mark will tell people what he thinks, and he doesn’t care if it’s not a popular opinion. It gives him an edginess that I think is really missing in the landscape today. Everybody’s so afraid to say anything, and Mark is unafraid to say exactly what he’s thinking.”

In a statement, Debra O’Connell, President News Group and Networks, Disney Entertainment shared, We could not be more thrilled with how Mark has seamlessly joined the show family as permanent co-host. His undeniable charisma and his and Kelly’s natural chemistry are evident as they deliver the laughs and smiles to our viewers each morning. We are incredibly proud of how Live has continued to evolve and that the audience is responding so enthusiastically.”

So, do you think Mark Consuelos is the best co-host his wife Kelly Ripa has ever had on ‘Live’? How would you say he is doing as co-host after one full year on the job? Comment below.

Jacob Young Shares Production Pic of Cast of His New Film Featuring Joan Collins and Nadia Bjorlin

Last month, during a livestream conversation on the Michael Fairman Channel, while promoting Jason Cook’s film, Four for Fun, and featuring soap notables Jacob Young (ex-AJ, AMC, ex-Lucky, GH, ex-Rick, B&B) and Brytni Sarpy (Y&R), Young revealed some intel on his upcoming movie project.

Jacob shared that he was set to direct, produce and star in a Agatha Christie-like murder mystery feature film, Murder Between Friends shooting in Prague.

The actor/director expressed, “I’m flying at the end of the March to Prague to direct, produce and star in a film with Joan Collins (ex-Dynasty). Nadia Bjorlin (ex-Chloe, Days of our Lives) is in it, and Toby Alexander Smith from Eastenders (ex-Gray Atkins). Plus, a couple of my Broadway friends and a very well known Czech actress (Hana Vagnerova). It’s very ‘Knives Out’ without having a hundred million dollars to shoot it, but still will be a lovely film nonetheless.”

Young is currently shooting the film’s principal photography abroad through April 17th.
