Prospect Park To Confirm All My Children & One Life To Live Revival Plans!

Fans have been eagerly awaiting to hear news directly from Prospect Park on their proposed plans on bringing All My Children and One Life to Live back and online!  Word this morning out of Deadline.com is that the confirmation and official statement may be coming as early as later today!

According to Deadline.com, “The company has kept quiet on the subject as it has continued to work on guild agreements, financing and distribution.”

In addition, it looks like Prospect Park did indeed reach out to the WGA (Writers Guild of America) a couple of weeks ago and is awaiting a response.  This is a key element to what most have voiced concerned about …  the writing of the stories of Llanview and Pine Valley.   As has been reported, filming is eyed to begin next month in Stamford, CT, with the producers already signing executive producers and actors as soap fans have noted in the last few weeks.

We will have more on this developing story! Stay tuned.

Will you feel more rest-assured that OLTL and AMC will make it online once you hear from Prospect Park?  Let us know!

I do believe that once they announce it..and more actors sign up..we all will feel a lot better about AMC /OLTL.. I cannot wait to see what exactly they do with the characters for both shows..it’s got to be a huge task to re-design sets etc. Cannot wait to see them all again..30 minutes a day will have to do..it’s much better than NOTHING at all.

The soap are 30 minutes in time, what fills the hour are the commercials..
I watch the soaps in their entirety on-line and with the on-line commercials they run about 36 minutes..

30 Minute show means about 25 minutes or so of show now, as they will have limited commercials. If they make them to fit a TV slot of 30 minutes the shows will run about 21 minutes.

Before I get labelled as a hater, I’ve been one of those working on getting AMC and OLTL back since Black Thursday-so I’ve been through the PP rollercoaster before. I’m sorry, gang-until they give us more details, this is all just talk

This could be the biggest day for the soap opera genre in over a decade. When its announced officially by PP that these two shows are coming back man people are going to be so relieved. The fact that DAYS is coming back to NBC, really does mean the predictions were right on 2013 being the revival year for the soaps to comeback from the dead. My remaining question will be what television network will they air on, I don’t expect PP to announce a television home today yet that’ll probably come after they start shooting the show. If it… Read more »

Hi Michael, thank you for keeping us updated. I am one of the wait until I see it skeptics. I would love for it to happen and will be forever grateful to PP if they actually reboot and air our beloved soaps, until I see them I can’t get excited. However I will feel a lot better if PP does make a formal statement. I will be estatic if they come back, I am a proud soap fan of 36 years, devoted to ABC soaps

Have they given any indication of what these shows will be? I’m guessing that there isn’t enough money for one hour, five day a week 52 week a year show. What can we expect?

TRW

This has been reported last week.

30 minute shows, 4 days a week with Friday recap shows, something like 42 weeks a year.

Nothing official, as per usual, but this is what I’ve been hearing. There are two possibilities-4 days a week, 30 min-with a week in review on Friday, or telenovela-style 5-week arcs alternating between the two. But, then again, this could be all just talk

TONIGHT: Kim Delaney Stars in Lifetime’s ‘The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice’

Make sure to catch General Hospital and former All My Children and NYPD Blue star, Kim Delaney (Jackie, GH, Ex-Jenny, AMC) tonight on Saturday, February 20th when her highly-anticipated Lifetime movie debuts beginning at 8pm EST/7pm CST which marks the cable network’s 400th original movie.

In The Long Island Serial Killer: A Mother’s Hunt for Justice, it tells the story of Mari Gilbert’s search for the truth behind what happened to her daughter Shannan, a sometime escort who disappeared after a ‘date’ on Long Island.

After Shannan (Katharine Isabelle, Hannibal) fails to come home, her mother Mari (Delaney) knows something is terribly wrong. Pleading to police to take her concerns seriously, she keeps pushing the police for answers. Mari’s insistence that her daughter not be overlooked eventually leads to a horror hidden on Long Island for more than a decade – 19 bodies of young women discovered buried in shallow graves along Ocean Parkway in the area of Jones Beach State Park. Though the search for the killer is still ongoing, Mari’s passionate dedication to giving her daughter and other forgotten women a voice, and the attention they deserve, has kept the case alive with hopes of a breakthrough soon. The movie not only follows a mother’s tireless search for the truth, but it also digs deep into the murders, including Shannan’s, that have gone unsolved for so long.

Delaney’s film, executive produced by Deborah Norville, is based off real life-events that transpired in the early 2010’s where the crimes were never solved.

In an interview with 98.1 WOGL Radio’s Glenn Kalina, Delaney shared: “There is hope in the film… but you also want an answer… what happened to all of these girls?  My character just was relentless trying to find her (daughter) or find answers where she was.  They found a bunch of other bodies, and what they learned was that they were all escorts… and then they learned there was a possible serial killer.”

Check out a promo for the movie below.

‘ABC Daytime: Back on Broadway’ Raises $130,565 For Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS In Four Day Streaming Event

Last week, ABC Daytime fans were thrilled to see some of the archival footage and performances from the ABC Daytime: Salutes Broadway Cares benefit concerts by those who were once in the mighty soap programming block that included: All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital.

While only GH remains, viewers still loved seeing many of their favorites perform in the streaming event, ABC Daytime: Back on Broadway, from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which featured footage from those events that ran from 2005-2011 in front of a live audience in New York City.

The 2021 online event, which kicked-off on February 11th and streamed for four days, featured new content with daytime favorites including: Susan Lucci, Cameron Mathison, Anthony Geary, Kelly Ripa and more, plus performances from the past benefits, and an original dance performance from Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on the set of GH.

John Dietrich, who directed each of the ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares concerts, wrote and directed the stream. It was presented in partnership with ABC Owned Television Stations’ websites around the country with support from Good Morning America and The View.

According to Broadway World, in total, the ABC Daytime Back on Broadway event raised $130,565. The streaming total includes a matching donation of $50,000 made by Broadway Cares supporters The Dream Alliance.  Now, when combined with the seven-year run of the annual concerts, the ABC Daytime stars have raised $2,020,565 for Broadway Cares.

As part of the event week, Michael Fairman chatted with former One Life to Live star, Catherine Hickland (Ex-Lindsay Rappaport) about her performances over the years at the event, her role of Lindsay and her on-screen feud with Nora (Hillary B. Smith), and more.  You can watch it below.

What did you think of the ABC Daytime: Back on Broadway streaming event? Did you enjoy seeing the performances? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Kelly Ripa on All My Children Primetime Reboot: “It’s a Darker Look at things, and I’m Very Excited About It.”

According to talk-show host, executive producer, and former All My Children star, Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley), the highly-anticipated reboot in the works of the beloved soap, will be focused on the children of familiar characters from the town of Pine Valley and have a much darker feel than its original daytime counterpart.

The series that everyone has been talking about is, of course, Pine Valley, which is being executive produced by Ripa, along with her husband, Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo), and Andrew Stearn.

Photo:ABC

Kelly, who is celebrating her 20th year on ‘Live’, spoke with Entertainment Weekly where part of the conversation turned to what she could share on the AMC reboot.

Ripa expressed how the original cast would fit into the new updated version of the soap: “We would be the parents, and this show is really more about the children of Pine Valley.”

She went on to say, “It’s a darker look at things, and I’m very excited about it. It was pitched to us and we were like, ‘We will absolutely produce this. And we want to be a part of it.’ Immediately we called Eva LaRue (Ex-Mara), all of our friends, and we started saying, ‘Just be at the ready. Get ready.’ ”

Just as fans are excited about the return to Pine Valley, so is Ripa: “All My Children is responsible for every singular good thing that has happened in my life. I met my husband there, I had my children there – not in the studio but pretty close; they kept you there until your contractions were five minutes apart, as we like to say.  It’s from there that I got the talk show. It’s from there that I got Hope & Faith…. and our first production deal. So it’s truly responsible for every good thing in my life that’s happened to me.”

So what do you think about the edgier All My Children on the way? Who would you like to see cast in the younger set to play some of the kids, and their love interests, of the Santos and Kane families, etc? Comment below.
