Unfortunately, as much I would love to see Greenlee Smythe in PC, I believe PP still own the rights to AMC characters, so Greenlee couldn’t show up without the current brass getting sued. I have been suggesting since AMC went off the air, that Vincent Izzary and David Hayward need to show up in PC!! Could u imagine him going up against Obrecht?? And his past with Anna Devane?? And then throw Greenlee, his ex wife in there as well…..ahh one can dream…….

The PP lawsuit prevents use of any AMC and OLTL characters until that lawsuit is settled. It was only then that we started seeing Frank and Ron mention the Alden family from LOVING and introduce Delia from Ryan’s Hope, and Franco mentioning to Félix that he had a threesome with a blond named Ally (Laura Wright) and a redhead whose name he didn’t remember (Jocelyn, played be Lisa Lo Cicero) from THE CITY. It felt to me like Frank and Ron thumbing their nose at PP by proving they can use characters and history from SOME shows of ABC’s past, if PP wouldn’t allow AMC or OLTL anymore. Greenlee falls under that AMC bracket. Technically Alex and Aidan Devane would too, since they never appeared on any soap BUT AMC. Common family history probably wouldn’t make them fair game for GH, because GH allowed AMC to use Anna once Alexandra Devane wasn’t cutting it for AMC anymore. Characters that originated on other soaps and only existed on those soaps are probably exclusive to that series. Skye, which I spoke about later on down the page, is probably the exception.

I have ALWAYS thought David Hayward would be perfect on GH, considering he’s an unscrupulous and ambitious doctor and shares an extensive history with Anna Devane who is now firmly reestablished on GH. I wanted David to come to GH to take over the hospital, replace Monica as chief of Cardiology, if not Chief of Staff, and reclaim Anna, while stirring up all sorts of trouble and conflict with Patrick, Silas, and the nurses. I can’t think of any other character who would more seamlessly assimilate into the show, honestly.

Beyond that, I NEVER cared for Ryan Lavery, but technically, he is related to Duke Lavery, which Anna revealed when she was on AMC. So I guess he could stand a chance at surviving on GH. But I don’t see a lot of job prospects for him, as I’m still not sure what the hell he did for work on AMC for all those years. I just remember the failed IncredibleDreams.com site.

You know, I truly try to put Nancy’s role as Alexis in perspective. She is following the directions of TPTB. Does she have a say? Probably. What I do see is that other characters that age keep it covered. I suppose with the growing extinction of soaps, there’s a shortage of roles for said actress and her ilk.
Contrary to the belief that I don’t think people of a certain age do not engage in sex is a fallacy. I do not live under a rock. However, women of a certain age should have a certain amount of pudor, whether playing a role or not. Keep it in your bedroom….let loose, man!! LOL.
The only conclusion is that Alexis does not see herself as a woman approaching sixty, the writers feed the ego…..which is great, to be young at heart. I just find it offensive to be subjected to her “wares” as you put it, Shay, which are an undeniable example that the law of gravity is all around us…LOL…..you know? Flapjacks. Uh, oh. I did it again.
Aging gracefully means choosing the right wardrobe, with class. I think she is so pretty with a great body, but she ruins her look by stuffing it into tubes…..such as sausage casings. She really needs a stylist.

The strange thing is. I like Alexis/Nancy, so I am not trying to take pot-shots here. I am dead serious, and I also think that TPTB should ‘hand out’ roles accordingly.

Kudos to GH for showing Alexis rollin’ around with her man! As Nancy said in an interview with Michael Fairman regarding sex in the afternoon with more mature women “…Frank and Ron…they don’t judge that way. Now there’s much more even representation. I’ve never worked on any show with so many women in my age range. It’s incredible. Back when Frons was running things, it was only Jane Elliot and me and they were ignoring us. We were the original walking dead.”

So fun to see Sam walking in on her parents…lol…none of us would want to see our parents “together” regardless of our age or theirs! Very realistic “embarassment.”

As for Alexis and Julian…not sure I’m feeling their chemistry any more as a couple. I actually liked her better with Ned! Either way, great to see more than teens, tweens and everything in between having a relationship. In the midst of daytime’s fantastical stories…the representation of gay love, adult love, interfaith, interracial love…is a great advance for the genre, specifically GH. OLTL always had Vicki and Dorian involved in sexual and/or romantic stories. ‘Bout time GH caught up with more realistic stories in all demographics. Great job, writers!

@CeeCee….While I do take issue with GH’s so-called “Soap Gods” for the ongoing ridiculous behavior of the character of Alexis—be it unleashing her overly-active libido in inappropriate settings/manners to donning skanky attire—I cannot help but believe this is done with the blessing and full approval of the actress in question. I think she absolutely relishes these antics and eats up all the attention…negative or otherwise….that her questionable onscreen conduct brings. Perhaps she fails to realize that her character’s performance invites such ridicule? (That would be hard to buy, but self-delusion can be a powerful thing…especially if you are surrounded by “yes people” stroking your ego.) On one hand, I find that concept to be pitiable and pathetic, but on the other, it doesn’t abrogate the responsibility to protect the young’uns from viewing such “adult” situations, both the fictional and real-life varieties. In terms of soap love scenes of the past, yes, I can recall some that were pretty “vivid,” but they were usually done with tasteful flourishes and lush production values….candles, music, and in mostly private settings like a plush boudoir or secluded cozy cabin…maybe even a nice bathtub full of bubbles? LOL. Now the “hook-ups” just seem so base, basic and hardcore….seldom any real romance or proper building to the “big moment,” well, at least in reference to GH, save for the year-long wait for the Maxie/Nathan coupling….I don’t watch any of the other daytime offerings. All I know is that you certainly don’t witness NLG’s contemporaries like Jane Elliot, Finola Hughes, Donna Mills, Kathleen Gati or Leslie Charleson cavorting in such a disgraceful way, so it is obviously not considered required behavior for soap actresses of a “certain age” on this show—excepting those playing Bobbie and Floosy, of course…thank goodness! I love and respect all these aforementioned ladies, and while I would certainly welcome any of them to find new loves and physical “companionship,” I would expect that we would see vastly different scenes than those we’ve been subjected to featuring the sleazy legal eagle. I’m just totally worn out with the tacky escapades of Alexis…in addition to being appalled by her in general, I’m simply finding her to be so lackluster…..today she looked like a disheveled, drowned rat, as if she had just emerged from her latest assignation, thrown on her poorly-fitting get-up and gone on her merry way, plus she sounded so condescending….I just wanted to put a sock in her obnoxious gob. Additionally, you literally could see the jealousy seeping out of her pores at Olivia’s expectant condition….I so want Julian to find out the truth about her child’s paternity so that they can get together. And on that subject, I hate that Franco has such sensitive info to hold over Ms. Falconeri….as you would surmise, I’m really not enchanted by the notion of Nina and him being unleashed upon the Port Charles public, let alone set up in luxury at the MetroCourt as their base of operations. And while MS’s wardrobe was an improvement in relation to style, I have to say the pastels truly did her no great favors with her unique coloring….quite frankly, the only time I have been blown away by the CrayClay fashion-wise was when they showed the flashback of her trashing Silas’ loft….that sleek head-to-toe black ensemble, complete with kick-ass stiletto boots, was sheer perfection!
