REPORT Alleges Fired Y&R Star Michael Muhney Has Been Ordered By Sony and CBS To Not Discuss Anything About The Show Or The Cast!

The story just won’t die, and now it mainly on the mainstream media who seems to keep posting new items and digging in to what went down behind-the-scenes with the fired star of The Young and the Restless, Michael Muhney (Adam Newman).
Today according to Radar Online, the outlet that ran the interview and comments with Muhney’s former co-star and on-screen father, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman), Muhney has been “muzzled” and not allowed to speak out about allegation from Braeden, which according to this report “stunned” Muhney, or the incidents revolving the groping of co-star’s Hunter King (Summer) breasts.
An insider reportedly told Radar, “It’s very frustrating that Eric made these remarks, because Michael has been ordered by Sony and CBS to not discuss anything about the show or cast. It’s considered a personnel matter and both are prohibited by terms of their contracts from discussing it. The only ones abiding by those orders are Michael and Hunter. Michael is trying to move on from the alleged groping incidents, but it’s hard to do when his former co-stars are trash talking him.”
This report does make some sense in that it would seem the appropriate course of action for Muhney and King would be not to discuss or talk about this situation publicly due to the contract and it should be handled behind the scenes. ‘The View’s’ Whoopi Goldberg Tells Audience to Stop ‘Booing’ Republican Senator Tim Scott
During a bizarre couple of segments of Monday’s episode of The View, Republican presidential candidate, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, was the special guest.
The conversation between the conservative politician and The View co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro took some uncomfortable and tense turns.
At one point, Goldberg posed the question to Scott, as to why the Republican Party was trying to “stop the progression that people are making.” Scott started answering and said that his political party was doing a “fabulous job at making progress” with social issues. Hostin asked him to elaborate on that point. It was then, that the senator turned his back to Goldberg, which promoted Whoopi to interject “That was me talking to you …. shall I come next to her?”
Goldberg then stood next to Hostin as Scott continued to face away from the other co-hosts and address the two. After proving her point, Whoopi went back to her seat a The View table.

Then, production signaled Goldberg to toss to break, but Scott was continue to speak. So instead of interrupting him, someone else from the production staff walked on camera and told Scott they were going to break.
However, when the show returned, and Ana Navarro asked her question, if the senator thought the ‘Republican Party had gone too far’ in introducing legislature against the LGBTQ+ community, including Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill, plus Floria governor and Republican presidential candidate, Ron DeSantis’ feud with Disney, Scott’s response drew ire from some in the live audience with many booing the guest.
Next, Goldberg shut down the ‘boos” scolding the audience with: “Not here. I’m sorry sir. Do not ‘boo’. This is The View. We accept … we don’t have to believe everything people say, but you cannot “boo” people here, please. You cannot do it.”

The Men of Charity Lawson’s Season of ‘The Bachelorette’ Revealed
Bachelor Nation got a preview of the twenty-five men who are searching for love and are hoping to find it with season 20’s ‘Bachelorette’ Charity Lawson. The new season of the reality-dating competition kicks-off on Monday June 26th (9-11 PM ET) on ABC.
Viewers met Lawson during Zach Shallcross’ season of The Bachelor. During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Charity said on being the producers choice for the lead role in season 20: “This puts me in the position of being the fourth woman of color to hold this role and the second monoracial African American woman to have the opportunity to find love. I notice and acknowledge that this is so much bigger than myself. It is my journey to love, but it’s bigger than me.”
The men vying for the final rose will include:

Walt Willey Brings All My Children’s Jackson Montgomery to General Hospital
Look for another legal eagle character from a former ABC soap opera to pop up on General Hospital!
News today out of Soap Opera Digest has that none other than Walt Willey set to reprise his role as All My Children’s Jackson Montgomery on upcoming episodes of GH in July.
Willey played Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) love interest and the Pine Valley lawyer from 1987 through to till ABC’s cancellation of the series back in 2011. The actor previously crossed-over to another soap opera in 1996, when he played Jack on ABC’s The City.

Taking to his Facebook account, Walt confirmed the news on his appearances on GH: “Hey Folks… Been sitting on this one for a while but now I’ve been given the clearance to announce that “Jackson Montgomery” is visiting Port Charles! I’ll be doing a few episodes of General Hospital, due to air mid July. So excited to reprise my character and see and work with old friends! I’ll keep you posted on any details. “Jackson” in Port Charles…who would have thought it? Let me, and ABC, know what you think about it!”
Could Jack’s sudden arrival in Port Charles have to do with the SEC and the trouble that Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) find themselves in? Will AMC fans get to see Cameron Mathison and Willey share scenes together again? Mathison played Ryan Lavery on the beloved former soap opera … or might Jack go up against Martin Grey in a GH legal battle, so Michael E. As far as I know, Hunter King still has her job. Michael doesn’t. He is married with 3 kids, she isn’t. There is about 15 yrs difference in age and maturity between the two. So many Americans in 2014 think everyone and everything is their business or that they have to have an opinion or make a snap judgment about something or someone that doesn’t even involve them in the first place. The wisest response, if one doesn’t know the truth is no response at all.

And when did that start?? Last night??? Eric Braeden has run his damn mouth for 3 weeks now and Greg Reickart has been no better. They had no right to throw Muhney under the bus, if indeed there was a gag order. Instead of sitting on Twitter for hours a day 7 days a week, perhaps Eric Braeden should be learning his lines, since he is the only actor on that show who comes to work unprepared. Susan…you are correct. Eric Braeden and Peter Bergman have NEVER gotten along in real life and they never will. Supposedly, the only one that EB has ever gotten along with is Melody Thomas Scott (aka Nikki). MTS is the only one who knows how to communicate with and deal with that man.

Have you noticed Eric fights with whomever he is fighting on the show? Not only has he fought with both actors playing old Smiling Jack, he’s fought with Sharon Case just about the time when Victor was livid with Sharon. Apparently he was none too happy with her complaining about with her character hooking up with her old, and I do mean old in both senses of the word, father-in-law. I totally agree. Nothing needed to be said to the press other than Michael Muhney’s initial announcement about being let go. He was graceful, respectful, talked about how sad and heartbroken he was, did not speak badly about anyone, and took responsibility for his actions. What more can you ask for? I have no doubt that the rest of the cast knows he is not allowed to talk, and have been reminded by TPTB that they do no have the same restriction.
I would imagine that the remainder of the cast are worried about their jobs because their Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps is known for poor storylines, no originality, and closing down soaps. I’ve read that she has closed down four and Y&R is next. Maybe she was hired for that reason. With Michael Muhney being available to any type of acting job because he is so good, he will have an advantage because he’ll already be out there looking for much more worthwhile work and maybe even find a job and then the rest of the cast will be scrambling… Read more »

Most companies have policies preventing employees/contracted personnel from discussing private company business through media outlets. I’m not surprised that Hunter and Michael have been told to keep quiet, and I believe both are displaying much class for keeping their mouths shut. I love what wrote and it is precisely what everyone and I thinking go. Can you please post what you wrote here on CBS and KSJ Facebook. I used to fan of this show for many years but not anymore. I was not taking sides but after I have seen what all cast members doing to this man whether he did it or not was ill advised and mean spirited to destroy someone’s reputation.

Many of these stars haven’t gotten the hint that this was a private personnel matter (emphasis on the private!) and if CBS stated that they do not comment on rumours, they should follow suit and keep their mouths shut. All this does is make them look incredibly desperate and for what? I’m looking forward to the Daytime Emmy’s where they will receive no major award. Best drama will go to GH or DOOL once again.

@ Kylie…Exactly! I used to be an avid fan of General Hospital way back in the day, when Doctor Hardy & Nurse Audrey were the headliners. As they became older, the two were put on the back burner for storylines. On Y&R we have two old geezers still trying to vie to be the top storyline headliners…Its time for old Victor to be put out to pasture.
I seriously doubt it. Fans have wanted him off the show before and he was never removed. I don’t remember the circumstances, but, as you can see he is still there and he needs to retire because his inability to memorize his lines throws all of the actors off and likely makes a lot of them furious, not just Michael Muhney.

I don’t think that we are ever going to know because Michael Muhney has class!! I have watched him in other settings and he is relaxed, funny, entertaining, aware of what’s going on around him, and just a joy to hear an interview with him. The real man, not Adam, is a loving husband and family man who dearly loves his wife and children. How was a *contract breached?* Gets your facts straight. A contract with Y&R (or any soap) does not mean job security! If there are justifying circumstances to terminate someone, they can do it. Heck they don’t even NEED a reason–they can end the contract early as long they give plenty of notice (like if they take a storyline in a different direction, decide to end it altogether, or opt to recast.
Boycott your brains out. It’s not going to help here.

I was wondering about muhneys lack of a response to the allegations. Now I know why he’s not said anything. Makes me once again wonder if the allegations are true. If he can’t defend himself, then I won’t believe one-sided allegations. I’m done with the young and the restless now.
It would not be to his benefit to say anything as CBS executives, specifically Jill Farren Phelps covered it up and never did an investigation. She even covered it up from her CEO boss, Les Moonves, Julie Chen’s husband (Julie is the moderator of the Talk). It’s quite obvious EB has been on a witch hunt to get MM off for quite sometime, whatever it takes. I saw the same article about Sharon Rocks. It is deplorable for them to treat MM so viciously. They threw both MM & HK under the bus with these allegations on both their reputations. Where are the criminal charges? They don’t exist, cuz it never happened. At this point I’m disgusted with Eric Braden! It seems after all these years he believes he’s Victor Newman and can do anything he wants and since I haven’t heard anything about CBS or Sony sanctioning him, maybe he’s right.

I believe it is a two-fold “gag” order. One that might have been part of the contract (which extends past the length of employment) and one coming down from MM’s attorneys. I don’t know if I would call it a boycott on my part, but I am already not watching Y&R on days when Michael and Billy are not featured. When they go, I go, simply because I am selfish. I like good stories and interesting characters and without the aforementioned 2, I don’t see that transpiring. How many times must we see Abby and her new boyfriend walk around the park trying to be interesting? I’d rather watch my dog lick himself and attempt to go where no man has gone before.
I’ve heard a lot of fans say that they are not going to watch Y&R and I want to say that we absolutely have to keep our word by not watching in defense and support of Michael Muhney. I am not being critical of you Susan, just saying that what we have been saying cannot be empty threats or CBS/Sony will not get the message. It’s highly likely they don’t care anyway but we definitely need to do our part and stop watching Y&R. It isn’t going to be worth wataching anyway unless Micchael Muhney returns.

I find it strange that CBS fired Michael without there even being an investigation or a police report filed. I mean would they fire her if he said that she touched him inn inappropriately? NO they would not have. They would have brushed it aside. I would think that Hunter would at least want some type of legal punishment if this truly happened. His career will forever be scarred by this. It’s really too bad!
I agree, if it truly happened HK has grounds for a lawsuit also. And both do if private company info were leaked by upper management to gossip rags. All we have are rumors started by a fan on a message board so cannot trust the source.

If he does have a lawyer and he is not found guilty of what Hunter King has accused him of doing…then it could be possible CBS and SONY or JILL PHELPS might not have it their way. They are not perfect by any means.
It’s smart for MM & HK to keep their silence for now, but the rest of the cast (and anyone else related to the show) should keep their traps shut too. THEY are the ones inciting all the backlash and THEY are the ones who need to be muzzled.

And to clarify the second to the last sentence of this blog entry, it’s not that HK and MM won’t talk, it’s that they can’t talk.
Every day it looks more and more like Muhney was set up. Hope he wins with a big payout in a lawsuit. And who fires a father a week before Christmas , allows their employees to publicly berate him and gloat over his dismissal, and leaks private company information? Sounds like there is no one at the helm of this sinking ship. It’s an attention grabbing free for all.
What is worse is, when MM did that firing interview he spoke well of that Jill and the others in power, yet they allow all this, really sick, I don’t want to watch anything that comes from that studio.
I so agree. KSJ’s rant on his facebook is so long winded you have no idea what he was trying to say and frankly it sounded like the rant of a high or inebriated person. JFP’s is allowing these people to run willnilly over MM’s character ahead of an impending lawsuit. If these actors are really as honorable as they claim to be they would never have spoke up until the whold sordid mess was hashed out in court.
Maybe JFP is asking some of the cast members to rag on MM, because her behind is in trouble too. JFP should have done something to stop a 2nd alleged incident from happening, and protected HK name from being leaked in the rumor!

I think it is unfair to silence some and others comment with no consequences…Eric Braeden should keep his thoughts to himself. I believe that Michael and Hunter are the only ones that have not commented any negativity about the show and the cast. This whole thing was handled very badly and as a result I will stop watching at the end of January…very sad after all these years..
Again, I suggest to all the Y&R cast who have spoken out on this sad issue, but especially to Eric Braeden: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”

I think Michael Muhney needs his lawyer to do his talking. I have been watching Y&R since 1973 and will be turning it of Jan. 30th with Michael’s departure. The way he has been this whole thing was handled by CBS,SONYand the cast members has been disgusting. It seems firing him isn’t enough, they are out to ruin him. We as fans aren’t about to let that happen and we will follow Michael Muhney wherever he chooses to go with his career. He is by far the most talented actor on television today!
