UPDATED REPORT: Kristen Alderson Exiting General Hospital!

According to an item this morning from Soap Opera Digest, their setside sources are reporting that Kristen Alderson (Kiki) will be wrapping up her story on ABC’s General Hospital and exiting the show.
Kristen’s real-life boyfriend, Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) of General Hospital clarified by tweeting that it, “was her (Alderson’s) decision btw”
The long time One Life to Live fan favorite where she played Starr Manning, joined General Hospital in the role of Starr back in 2012 when the character crossed-over to General Hospital after OLTL went off the air.
After a legal dispute over the use of the characters of Starr, Todd (Roger Howarth) and John McBain (Michael Easton) on General Hospital by Prospect Park, the writing team had to come up with a new character for the actress to play which would inevitably be Kiki Jerome, the daughter of Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Silas Clay (Michael Easton). Many have felt that Alderson’s Kiki just didn’t have the stories that Starr Manning had throughout her time on GH!

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric
General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)
At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)
Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

This will leave a hole in the Michael/Morgan/Rosalie story, so they will need to bring a new young female in to work with them.
I hope this does not mean that Silas and/or Ava are also on their way out. Kiki was part of the glue that held the whole Ava/Silas/Morgan angle of the show together so I’m hoping that whole crew is not being shown the exit.
What Michael/Morgan/Rosalie story? Rosalie hasn’t been seen in weeks… and I’m not too broken up about that to be honest. They waited too long to reveal her Port Charles ‘connection’ and now I’m past caring.
Unfortunately the future doesn’t look too bright for Silas either… without Sam or Nina he doesn’t really have much else going on… and I can’t see Michael Easton sticking around for the occasional ‘oh, there’s Dr. Clay’ scene at GH.
I miss Felix… if Lucas ever starts working at GH I would love for them to re-ignite the ‘threesome’ between them and Brad.
what many fail to understand;
many GH actors have other projects they are involved in..
One has a web series another a tv show and others in movies etc etc..
They want, again, they want their time off from GH and that is a bonus for them and they are going nowhere.
Michael Easton may well be be happy with his schedule to fit his needs 😉
Seriously? ….threesome? Why not bring Felix back (love him) and a new a new love interest just for him? for him? That is kinky. IMO, not daytime staple. Then again, to each his/her own.
Rosalie will be back. They cycle the stories on and off the canvas to accommodate scheduling (as su0000 mentions), budget, etc. The supporting characters tend to get worked in at times when they can be used in multiple stories playing out at once so when Rosalie comes back we’ll probably see her interacting with Michael, maybe visiting Nina and getting blackmailed about her secret, maybe getting a job at the clinic or GH, etc. etc.
I don’t mind when the characters go missing for weeks, it keeps my interest in the front burner story since it’s on every day meanwhile building anticipation for the stories that are coming back up.
I am really bummed. I enjoy KA a lot, and I like her pairing with both Michael & Morgan. I especially like her with Ava. I understand her wanting to leave – she’s worked on soaps her whole life. Still, I’m bummed.
They should recast the role; she’s too connected not to.
I totally agree. I can’t stand the new Kiki. She doesn’t bring life to the role. It’s kind of like watching a “limp noodle”. KA was superior as Kiki. She was believable, but the new Kiki is not. I think the role of Kiki has dimension, & I like the stories they bring to the show concerning Kiki, but not the new actress at all. They should ask KA to come back. Btw- I happen to like Kelly Monaco. She’s very talented.

It may very well be her decision to leave, but I find it odd that her boyfriend needed to put it out there, why wouldn’t she, and in the case that it was the network who decided not to renew, why wouldn’t they allow her to say it was her choice anyway? The point is, no one will really know.
It is interesting that this comes about now; that an actor who came from OLTL and was involved with the Prospect Park mess is leaving at the end of her contract. There have been rumors that with Ben Sherwood coming in that there were going to be changes and cut backs. Plus the Prospect Park situation has been nothing but trouble for ABC and is still pending.
It will be interesting to see if there is any forthcoming news on Michael Easton and Roger Howarth, who has been looking for other projects for a while and got a recurring role on The Flash. There could be something larger at work here.
Another site, a credible one, is reporting that KA left because she was asked to take a pay cut. That is interesting and could signal changes to come.
We have seen the model that Cartini has been using to try and build ratings. Hire actors, who are not cheap, hoping to draw their fans. The ratings have not followed. The show is up in total viewers from when they started, but not that much from a show that was on the verge of cancellation and the demos are actually worse.
It’s not how you build a show. The way to have built GH was to use the 50th anniversary to draw back fans for characters, families and actors that they would want to see. They did that to some degree, but it wasn’t real. Instead they brought on actors from other soaps, many playing characters with no ties to GH history or core families.
And now it’s possible that ABC, with a new Chief coming in, is taking inventory and realize that it didn’t work. Now come the budge cuts.
And I’ll just add, that while I dislike many of the new actors who have been brought on, I didn’t dislike KA at all. There was a lot of Kiki bashing out there and it had more to do with the terrible writing for the character. First she was a tart with a big mouth who scammed Morgan and flashed Michael and then she was….what? KA is a competent and professional actress and I wish her well.

It seems to me that TPTB have suddenly given our Ms Sam that unique power of innate intuitive power to discern Jake as the baddie who held her at gun point….or was it a knife? Can’t remember. Is that the only way to exalt her as the ultimate hound b@@@h?… I mean, dog? Is this the reason we need this character? Wow! Is she cracking the case? Oh, c’mon, por favor ! So now she’s on the prowl, sniffing out possible proof? That’s a cheap trick.We already know Jake is the culprit, is the fact that she is on the right track supposed to ingratiate her to us?…..doesn’t work for me.
I know many are happy to see you go, Kristen, but I will miss you, ….I feel as if we grew up together….love you much. My best in all your endeavors. I only hope I will see you pop up on another soap….yeah, take Abby’s place at Y&R. Bye, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, ciao.
I agree that Alderson is a much better actress than Monaco, but Kiki never worked. I hope she takes Ava and Nina with her. (And Sam too!)

I dont understand why so many want quality actors off GH? People bash Anthony Geary and Fluke. This guy is a legend and GH has handed him a story to sink his teeth into. Ava and Nina are two highly qualified actors who I enjoy tremendously. They might not get written well ALL the time but I enjoy their talents. Embrace quality! When Anthony rides off into the Amsterdam sunset I can hear people now demanding his return. Never happen. Once he is gone he is gone!
Her boyfriend Chad tweeted that it was her decision to leave. Maybe she wants to try her hand at another genre. But it would have been cool if she was Nina’s.
GH did not can Kristen, she is choosing to leave her contact is up and she choose not to renew it. Maybe she wants to see what else is out there. Good luck to her. Here to bigger and better things for 2015.
It’s very possible the show is just allowing her to “save face” by saying she left on her own accord. It’s possible it’s her choice, but I wouldn’t say likely. Either way I’d take her, Chad’s and the show’s explanation with a grain of salt – we’ll never know who’s choice it was.
That said, with her the very best. Always enjoyed her – she brought a kind of girl next door quality to her roles — like someone you might know in real life. Will be a brand new adventure for her being off a soap for the first time since she was 6 – here’s to making the best of it!

I think that may be a possibility, Claire….I’ve seen a spoiler that Donna Mills has filmed a scene with Kiki, Ava’s baby, and maybe Silas? Perhaps she is going to finally reveal the truth about Kiki’s true parentage and that will be the impetus for KA’s departure? (Who wouldn’t want to leave town if they found out Nina LaNutter were their real mother?) Additionally, as that infant Ms. Jerome Jr. is currently helping to rear would not be a blood relative, she will have neither right nor reason to take part in its upbringing. Just a thought….Having said that, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for KA…such a shame that her Kiki was such a clunker of a character.
KA has been afforded nothing but horrific stories since first landing in Port Charles.
First, she arrives as Starr and immediately her baby and fiance are killed.
Then Starr exits and renters as Kiki and is given a story which is almost as stupid as her new name. I like KA, watched her grow up on OLTL. She is an amazing powerhouse of talent, skilled as both an actress and a singer. Kelly Monaco is a good actress and a fan fave. I really like Sam. That being said, I enjoy Kiki Jerome and am sad to see Kristen Alderson go. I hope that she shows up on DAYS perhaps as a recasted Stephanie Johnson. I just don’t see how this makes sense because there is so much story potential for Kiki still…I wonder if they are trying to recast?

I totally agree that Kristen’s talents are wasted. I was devastated when Starr and the rest were killed off, especially her and Hope. So unnecessary. Kristen should go on to better things. and GH should get rid of Kelly m, that girl is such a drip. I was never really interested in GH but enjoyed all the ATWT and OLTL transplants, especilly Maura West. The only GHers I liked were Spinelli and Sabrina and Felix.
Starr(she left town) was never killed off…just Hope and Hope’s father Cole allegedly died and someone was watching Starr hinting Cole might be alive but the Prospect Park lawsuit against ABC abruptly halted that storyline and Starr, Todd and John left town alive!!!
Right, it just felt like they died. I love the Roger/Franco character on GH but don’t much care about Kiki and whatever McBain’s name is Silas, that’s it!

I’m fairly new to twitter and surprised at the # of rude, crazy, downright evil comments, about any and everything of course. I said many insults to KA and Kiki, but on other GH message boards many viewers seemed to like her. Now that she’s leaving many who don’t normally post are coming out expressing their disappointment.
Sticking her w/no friends her age except Morgan and Michael to bounce between was a bad idea. She had no sl’s & just reacted to all the 40-something’s crazy antics. She’s even helping raise her baby sister because baby’s mama and daddy are both in prison, both for murder, 1 each. SADDDDD!!!

I agree wiith most of w what you said, Laurie. Negative comments are all too common on many sites, not just Twittet, when fans don’t like someone. People will rip actors apart if they don’t like the character, the acor him/herself, their looks, etc. I actually like Kristen very much AND I like her as KiKi. maybe it’s because I thought the character was similar to Starr. I think when the OLTL characters were no longer able to continue on GH, R on thought he’d get around it by giving them all similar personality traits to their OLTL personas, but staying within the legal realm by changing their names and back stories. The three of them seem very similar to their “other identities.” Where I differ is that I liked her in the Michael/Morgan dynamic and was thinking they’d try putting her and Morgan back together, with the sister that ties them. I thought Kiki was warm, like Starr, loyal, like Starr, loving like Starr. And though they broke up the potential father daughter relationship of Franco and Kiki…they kept them close so that remnants of Star and Todd’s OLTL relationship was still visible to OLTL fans. Now with Kristen unfortunately leaving, I think they’ll recast and perhaps give her more story, an expanded circle of interactions, etc…because the new actress won’t be the ex Starr that meant so much to those of us who were still reeling from the sudden loss of OLTL. (Unless of course they cast Kelly Missal…but her character had already been changed by PP.)
Yes, there should be a line. Nothing against the actress, she is a sweet girl. Her stories were horrible. The actress will land something else. She is talented.
I am excited for Kristen! She will move on to bigger and better things! The writing for the character of Kiki has been terrible from the start. The writers could never figure out who or what they wanted her to be. And poor Kristen…she took the brunt of fans anger. This is an extremely talented, Emmy winning actress and anyone who needs reminding….watch old episodes of One Life to Live. Watch what she can do with good, strong writing! I wish her all the best in her future endeavours!
I’ve watched Kristen grow up. She’s what all of 20, so why not spread her wings. Kiki is no Starr so I won’t really miss Kiki. It was too long ago that GH fans were complaining there were too many characters and now people are complaining FV & RC are cutting characters. I think FV & RC are slowly bringing GH’s core characters back to the canvas. Now if only we could see Alan, Jeff and Joe Kelly come back.

Sorry to see Kristen go, wishing her all the best for whatever is next. Kiki never really seemed to be integral to stories, she was always on the fringes. I had hoped she would be a new version of Bobbie Spencer and enter the GH nursing program or something that would give her a stronger tie to the show.
Whether the show wanted to write off the character or the actress wanted to leave, no doubt Kiki will ride off into the sunset to raise little Avery– perhaps the mob war heats up and to keep the little darling safe, Kiki agrees to go into hiding with her. This is a good way to get write off the character who has no where to go story wise and it removes the baby from the scene until the writers can SORAS her in a couple of years and bring her back when the plot calls for it.
I don’t think so, Mary SF. Kiki just found Silas…after all these years. I doubt she’d give up her newfound relationship with her dad. I doubt she’d leave Morgan who is going thru his own emotional turmoil and for whom she seems to be having rekindled feelings…I don’t think she’d move too far from from Ava…and I don’t think she’s so detached from Michael that she’d easily walk away. Not to mention I doubt Silas, Morgan or Carly would let her just leave with the baby…and I don’t think she’d leave her baby sister. With all my “don’t think”and “doubt that’s”…I DO think they’ll recast.
They could recast, but those things you mentioned aren’t front and center or necessary to the story line right now. As I stated I don’t think they would write her off by having her wanting to leave, but needing to leave to protect the baby. After a suitable amount of time has gone by, they could bring in a recast, because most soaps prefer the character be off screen for a bit before bringing in a recast unless the character is vital to the story, or if an actor fell ill they bring in a temp. Kiki is a fine character but right a this moment, she is not vital and RC most likely did that knowing KA might not renew her contract, so he didn’t put her front and center. So all those things you mentioned could be explored, but I still suspect Kiki will be written off first, and takes the baby with her.
hi again, Mary. I hear you, and you could be right, but I actually think she was about to become more integral to the story now, with Ava in jail and she and Silas taking care of the baby. And why have Morgan express his newly revived feelings for her. Plus, we never did find out if she really is Ava’s daughter, or If she’s Nina’s. Perhaps you’re right and they’ll pursue this character down the road. I’d rather it unfold now, expand her relationship with Silas and Morgan…and I really don’t see her leaving town with the baby. That would put both she ans Avery on the run…

I hope they don’t kill her! Have her escape or leave another way, then she can come back later. Last year I came back to GH after a long absence for the very reason that they have such great actors on now (Ava, new Franco), and I enjoy how they come and go — then we never get sick of them or (let’s face it) the sometimes stupid stories. There is always something new happening, and the stories are moving much more quickly. I loved Billy on Y&R and have started watching every day again to see how he works as Jason — and I love it. Love that Jason will now have real emotions and has changed as a result of his brain injuries (or TBI as everyone on GH calls it). I’m sorry to see Kiki go now, but hopefully she will be back. As far as I’m concerned, Sonny is the only one that I don’t care about seeing all the time, so he can stay in jail, haha! GO GH!
She worked best as Starr and with Roger H. as her father Todd…She might have been ok as Serena Scotts daughter or as Jimmy Lees adopted grandaughter but she is a total misfire as Kiki whom i thought was going to be Nina’s…maybe PP will loose their case against ABC and she can return as Starr?

Sad news! I remember Ms.Alderson when she arrived in Llanview and held her own with the great actors and actress of that show. She sang, danced and became part of our family as she grew up with us. Just a few weeks ago she had scenes with Roger Horwarth. The same actor she did scenes with as a 7 year old!

No one has contacted him about officer Bedelia’s actions leading up to Johnny’s release. Why do we have these characters sitting around and no one seems to communicate with one another. Wouldnt Laura crack the Fluke case in 5 minutes!
No more “coo-coo Kiki. She’s coo-coo” (as Nina called her)!!! This is the best soap news of the weekend. The Kiki character didn’t serve Kristen, at all. Though, I loved Kristen as Starr when she appeared on GH. I wish Kristen well on her acting career.
One thing Kiki was not, was cuckoo. The character may not have been so popular, but she kept her sanity throughout her run at GH,…….the same cannot be said about many other protagonists. I am glad you do appreciate her talent as an actress.
On the other hand, the only reason Sam is kept on, is to resolve the Jake mystery. Too much importance is given to this actress. She’s a needed fixture…hopefully, temporary, but I doubt it. I am VERY tolerant. She and Jake don’t even mesh. They are not a good fit…..sooner or later Jake/Jason will wake up from this ridiculous nightmare that is Helena who is endowed with a possible phallus? LOL. Jake will get Helena..”it is a double pleasure to deceive the deceiver”; Jean de la Fontaine. I will relish that momentous occurrence.
I cannot believe that TPTB would just leave the Kiki storyline up in the air like this. I may be wrong, but I agree with some posters who feel there should/will be a recast. Too many strings left untied. We are left hanging, swaying in the wind. Then again, it is so typical for ‘things’ to be left unresolved. I am anxious to see what’s next.

Semantics AJ. It’s always the actors option not to resign their contract but, if as I suspect was the case here, Kristen Alderson was given a low ball offer and was probably going to be dropped to recurring then that isn’t much of a choice. Happens all the time. Making it the actor’s choice to exit allows the actors to leave gracefully and also spares TPTB from having to make any explanations as to what wasn’t working with the character.
KA had a nice, long soap run as Starr but honestly RC didn’t/doesn’t seem to have any clue what to do with any of the OLTL 3 once he could no longer “borrow” the original OLTL characters and use the actors popularity on that show to try to lure in displaced OLTL fans to GH. When forced create his own original characters though…well let’s just say response has been underwhelming.
I don’t blame KA for that and wish her well in the future. It was time to move on though.

My hope? One day, GH can get rights to the OLTL characters and bring back Todd, John McBain and Starr. I was one of the group that felt that – rather than detracting from the show – these characters added a jolt to some long stagnant GH characters that hadn’t been challenged in quite some time. And for me personally, none of the replacement characters for these actors worked as well – each character was a step down (or two or three) from the OLTL characters and didn’t generate the same chemistry with their scene partners, even though they were basically working with the same actors as they were previously.

I totally agree. GH is too violent with Sonny shooting everybody. I’ve tried for e YEARS to care about these people and just dont give a crap. I enjoyed Ava since it was maura West from ATWT. Just dont like these GH stories.

I find this news so devastating. I watched Kristen grow up on OLTL and after many years of not watching GH, I started watching it again so that I could continue watching my OLTL transplants. I have always enjoyed watching Kristen and I’m sure that she will be fabulous at whatever she does. I am just so sad that I won’t get to see her on my tv screen anymore.
This is really disappointing because I think Kristen as Kiki was a good idea. It was nice to see her play more of a bad-ass character, related to a mob family and being in a relationship with the son(s) of another mob family. The reason Kiki somewhat fell flat was because the story just wasn’t there; it was the writing’s problem, not the acting. I think Kristen is great and she’ll get another role soon, maybe in primetime. Or maybe Y&R will pick her up and bring back Michael’s sister, Eden? I’m tired of Noah and Courtney, maybe he can reignite things with Eden. Plus, I think Robert Adamson and Kristen Alderson would have great chemistry.

I have a feeling they’re going to recast…I doubt the character would go far from where Ava is imprisoned, nor do I think she’d leave her relatively newly found father and baby sister. I believe the priceless Ilene Kristen will continue and Kiki will be recast, and if Ms. Torpey is too old, it was just a supposition, in the mind’s eye one thinks of her as very young. The 10 year difference between actresses according to Google (I had to check!), well, some people betray their age. This should be an interesting re-casting or plot conundrum, hopefully quickly rectified by the powers that be.
Age does not matter , it seems, on soaps. Kassie DePaiva plays the daughter of Charles Shaughnessy on Days. He is only six years older than she….sooooo…..
Sad to see her go, but I respect anyone’s choice to do what is best for themselves. I loved Kristin on OLTL, and also adore her on GH (even though her storyline has not been as “meaty” thus far). I do see the character on a path to a good story arc, but I wonder if it will be played out now. I have been a GH fan since it began, and will always be, and while I do enjoy most of the plots and twists, and I adore Frank and Ron, IMO, there are just tooooo many characters and stories that never end right now, and I begin to lose interest as a result of that. Much good luck Kristen, and if GH cannot convince you to stay, I know you will be an asset to any small or big screen set!

Su, I’m sorry, but I disagree. He uses history to suit himself, not the series. The stories are boring, sub-par and beyond ridiculous and recycled. It’s the one soap I could go without seeing, and if certain actors weren’t on the show, I’d drop it from my DVR schedule.

I hate to see Kristen Alderson leave GH. I have enjoyed her acting since she was a little girl on OLTL and was happy that she joined GH as Starr Manning . She did well with what she had to work with as the Kiki character though the writers haven’t given her much to do latlely.

i truly don’t care for any of the characters that they are playing. When I refer to them as characters, they are still John, Starr and Todd. Roger as Franco, is just a small fraction of the character Todd and he isn’t playing to his full capabilities. Michael as Silas is basically John as a doctor.

I will Miss Kristen so much having watched her grow up on OLTL. The writing has not been good for Kiki. It’s the writers and everyone in charge of GH who have made the stories for her not as good as they could have been. I’m disgusted by this as she is a great young actress. I will miss her so much. Shame on them for not giving her better stories. I wish Kristen all the happiness in the world. I hope she will go to nighttime TV and nothing on ABC which treated her shabbily on GH and canceled OLTL. I am very sad about her leaving as it’s a tie to OLTL and I just love her.
