REVENGE: Emily and David Finally Have Their Reunion … And It's Cut Short Thanks To Victoria!

On Sunday night’s episode of ABC’s Revenge entitled “Ambush”, finally after being teased for weeks that Emily Thorne AKA Amanda Clarke (Emily VanCamp) would reunite with her once believed-to-be-dad David Clarke (James Tupper), the moment of truth happened within the last few minutes of last night’s show.

Here’s what set it in motion:  Emily found a key to David’s safety deposit box which led her to a flash drive of images of the faux Amanda and her relationship with Jack (Nick Wechsler).  Clearly, David was keeping tabs on who he believed to be his daughter.  Emily was overcome, tears streaming down her face for she realized after all the hell she went through and put the Graysons through, David was alive and watching his “own daughter” without revealing he was alive to her!

Armed with the ammunition, Emily burst into the beach house breaking up an intimate moment between dear old dad and arch enemy Victoria (Madeleine Stowe)! At that moment David tells Victoria to basically to get out of the way.  An hysterical Emily asks David why he didn’t come for her?  David grabs her wrists.  He then notices the tattoo on it is the one that they both share!  He says, “Amanda?”

Cutaway to outside where it appears that Victoria touched a car that was too close to a utility pole in the thunderstorm!  Was it struck by lighting and then she was electrocuted? All we know is Victoria is down on the ground unconscious.   Seemingly love-sick David goes running after her, leaving his big moment with Emily unresolved!

What did you think of the small, but crucial scene between David and Emily? Are you enjoying this season of Revenge ... or, not so much?  Let us know below!

Great episode; in fact great season so far!! Emily Van Camp deserves an Emmy now for her heartbreakingly subtle performances since her Dad came back.

Just binge watched! So surprised more soap fans either don’t watch this show or don’t post here. This season has been fantastic! Loved the short reunion…but once again Victoria won. Even in his new revelation….even in his seeming elation…he couldn’t express his full joy as he ran to Victoria’s side. Can’t wait for the next episode!

Thanks, Michael Fairman for continuing to post on this excellent show even though unfortunately there isn’s a great response. Surprising…
