REVENGE Series Finale Promo: Who Will Die? Will Anyone Get A Happy Ending?

Courtesy/ABC

Last night in a jaw-dropper final minutes of ABC’s Revenge, the series set up next week’s series finale, when Revengers have to bid farewell to the soap in the Hamptons!  But before its time to go, Sunday’s episode entitled, “Plea” featured some major moments!

First, and foremost as many expected, even though Madeleine Stowe did an “exit” interview, of sorts, Victoria is alive! Ben (Brian Hallisay) is tracks her down, and unfortunately gets killed in the process by Courtney Love AKA White Gold!

Elsewhere and sadly, David (James Tupper) is dying of stage four lymphoma, brain cancer.  He informs Amanda (Emily VanCamp) he maybe has six months to live at most.  Amanda is devastated and wants her dad to promise to keep up the fight as they will beat this, although David knows his fate is sealed.  And then we have one of the most long-awaited moments in the four year history of the series, Amanda finally admits to Jack (Nick Wechsler)she wants to be with him.  In a tender moment the two are about to kiss, only Nolan (Gabriel Mann) spoils the moment when he tells Amanda she needs to put her ankle monitor back on.  And let’s not forget Amanda’s confrontation in the vengeful Margaux’s (Karine Vanasse) prison cell!  Kudos to Emily VanCamp who wants again throughout last night’s episode showed why she is the heart and soul of the very dark and twisted series.

All of this sets up next week’s series finale on Sunday May 10th beginning at 10PMET/9PMCT.   In the series finale promo a few things to point out among many quick cuts:  Amanda pointing a gun at Victoria, Jack looking not so good in the hospital and Amanda kissing his forehead (Oh-oh!), and Amanda in a pool of blood!

Watch the series finale promo after the jump! Then weigh-in, what do you think will befall, Amanda, Victoria, Jack and Nolan as Revenge gives us one last dramatic hour of television?

Im gonna miss this show. There’s really no where else for it to go and its kind of written itself into a corner, but I’ve enjoyed it.

I felt this 4th and final season was set up in anticipation to be the end. I hope Amanda get her final revenge on Victoria. I want Amanda with Jack. Nolan their steadfast friend. Any other characters can fall by the wayside.

I didn’t understand Courtney Love as White Gold. Could someone explain?

Ugh. I’m not sure that I’d put it past this show to kill off the last five main characters – Jack, Amanda, Victoria, David and Nolan. I could see them throwing Margeaux and Louise into the grave too. I really can’t see Amanda and Jack riding off into the sunset at the end.

Charlotte should survive but only because she (rightfully) distanced herself from the whole lot of them.

This last half season has reminded me of the end of LOST with the high body count.

Have loved this show since day one. It has made me cry more than once and I’m sure going to cry on Sunday. I hope Amanda and Jack get their happy ended. We all know Revenge loves flashbacks! Hopefully Jack in the hospital is just a flashback from when Emily found fake Amanda and Jack on the boat. Seems like it’s either going to Victoria and Amanda killing each other, or one actually surviving.
I would like to see Amanda and Charlotte reconnect as sisters before the end of this series. Guess we’ll have to wait for Sunday night. With plenty of tissues!

Last night’s episode was simultaneously riveting and devastating. I HATE the irony that just when they found each other David is going to die…and I was shocked and sad that Ben took a hit, too. Great drama but just felt sad after watching it…

Great run of a great show…will miss it…although there’s almost no one left to miss…

General Hospital Set To Pay Tribute To The Late Susan Brown

2018 has taken with it some beloved soap opera veterans.  One of them was GH fan favorite, Susan Brown, who died at 86 of Alzheimer’s at the end of August.

GH viewers remember Susan’s performances as Dr. Gail Adamson Baldwin.  Gail was Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) best friend, and eventually she married Lee Baldwin (the late Peter Hansen) and was a stepmother to Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner).

Kin took to Twitter last week and revealed that General Hospital taped a tribute to Susan that will be seen in an upcoming episode.

In a tweet, he shared, “A tribute show to Susan shot in the can airing soon!”

With GH’s tape schedule we would presume that sometime in January we will be seeing how GH addresses Susan’s passing and thus the fate of Gail.

So, are you glad to hear GH will be doing something very special to honor Susan?

Do you hope that there are major emotional scenes within it for Kin Shriner and Leslie Charleson?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Network Exec, Angelica McDaniel On Y&R’s Staying Power: “We Have This Award-Winning, Ratings-Generating, Money-Making Show, And It Really Adds Value To CBS.”

This week, The Young and the Restless celebrated 30 years as the number-one rated daytime soap opera.  That is a streak of 1,560 weeks in the top spot.

Angelica McDaniel, executive vp daytime programs and syndicated program development at CBS, spoke to the Hollywood Reporter on what has made this remarkable run; attributing it to strong storytelling and a cast that includes several beloved veterans who have been around the entire time.

The executive noted that while other soaps over the years have fallen by the wayside, and even though we are down to only four surviving network soap operas, that Y&R will be around with no end in sight.

McDaniel stated, “We have this award-winning, ratings-generating, money-making show, and it really adds value to CBS. We expect it be a part of our lineup in the future.”

She also added, “The Young and the Restless has some of the best actors in the industry — not in soaps, not in daytime, but in television. We have iconic, legacy characters that have been on our show for decades. Melody Thomas Scott will be celebrating her 40th year on the show in February. Peter Bergman just reached his 30th anniversary in November. Eric Braeden started in 1980. We just have an incredible arsenal of actors who are so talented and play these characters so well that you don’t even realize they’re characters. They become people who are part of your life, part of your daily existence.”

As for the continual investment and ways the audience watches the show on various platforms, McDaniel expresed: “The great thing about daytime television is we have loyal, passionate viewers, and they really like to tune in day and date. They want to stick with their stories and see what’s happening today. … Having said that, The Young and the Restless is also one of the top streamed shows on CBS.com. As trends evolve, we are where our viewers are, and we’re making shows readily accessible so they can get their fix and follow their stories.”

So, what do you think about Y&R? Will it remain if and when all other soaps have come to theirconclusion? Do you think it will continue on for years to come, given its position at number #1? Comment below!
