Following Sofia Pernas (Marisa) being bumped to recurring status, and the news that she is filming a new role in the CW drama pilot Transylvania, comes word via Daytime Confidential that her on-screen Y&R love interest, Robert Adamson (Noah) has also been taken off contract by the number one sudser.

After Noah finally had a story – running over Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in a parking lot by mistake, and the fallout – and also getting involved with Marisa – it appears the show may have run out of story for Adamson.

Meanwhile, Luca played by Miles Gaston Villenueva, who came on to the Genoa City scene to cause trouble for Noah and Marisa, has been moved into a budding romance with Hunter King’s Summer Newman.

What do you think of the news of Adamson being taken off contract?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Being off contract is better for a young actor it gives them more opportunity to expolre other options and grow.. Hopefully he will get involved in other endeavors..

YUK with Summer anything.. too bad, I was really liking Luca but I’ll need to FF him when he is with Summer, I just can’t watch her, nope ..

Same here suoooo. It is too bad because I like Luca as well but I can’t stand that Summer. Luca would have been better off with Mariah who we never see anymore. As for Noah wont Sharon need him around when she finds out about Sully, and Noah was so close to his mom as well. They really are ruining this family. Let me guess when Sharon finds out about Sully it will break Summer’s heart and we’ll have even more of her. She’s her own and only biggest fan! BTW I FF when she comes on as well.

I just read that they are bringing in Alicia Coppola(Lorna A.W.) if this is so why not keep Noah and she could be his new love interest. I give up trying to figure them out but now that she’s in there is definately a story for Noah if they wanted.

There is a little voice in my head ( so persistent, it’s getting on my nerves, lol), that Luca will have an interest in Victoria. I’ll take anything if it means less Summer.

Oh how I wish that little voice could be true CeeCee. The thing is she is not going anywhere. She’s collecting a steady pay, front burner stories and doesn’t give a dam if she’s taking away time from any of the others. I think she really thinks everyone loves her. This show has a habit of car accidents. Hunter made Chelsea lose her baby, Noah ran over Billy, Adam hit Deila, maybe someone will run over Summer. That’s my wishful voice.

The son of Sharon & Nick deserves to given a story and be on contract. There’s Sage and Dylan stuff, but not a legacy character?

You are so right. If they would get writers with brains, Noah needs a good story. Let him have a crush on the computer geek boy would that upset Mariah (his sister) who can’t stand Natalie. Kevin maybe jealous, worried that Natalie will hand over the key secret to Noah.

You are a hoot, Nikki.
Or, just maybe, Sheila will be back to get her!!

I know, Kar…I agree. But, if Noah and Marissa remain a couple, and Marissa is recurrent; then, I figured Noah would be, as well. I hope Robert isn’t being sacrificed for both Marissa and Luca.

CBS is claiming Marissa is recurring, but she’s already got a new primetime show she’s taping as a series lead. When they made Kyle recurring we saw him only like once after that.

They use the word recurring but it means fired.

You’re right…so sad and irritating when they do that to one of my faves. Poor Robert. At least, Sofia has another job.
Why keep Luca? To antagonize Victor? Are they turning Luca into a good guy?
As I said from the onset, Summer and he will become an item. I am assuming this is to get to Victor on Luca’s part. There is also the chance he and Victoria will be involved.
I do not trust Luca one bit. Yet…i do not trust the writers, either.
I don’t know, Kar. There’s no point speculating; I get lightheaded…LOL.

Luca is on recurring as is. He’s not a contract actor.

I have a baby theory for soaps. The only way a baby is born is if there is a paternity question. I predict Abby and Ben’s baby is DOA. Been joking with my hubby and sonn about this for 3 years and haven’t been wrong yet. The writers have already done some foreshadowing with Ben’s Satan spawn.

I know su0000..I agree.. I at least thought she had a fighting chance playing alongside Michelle Stafford the original Phyllis.. Her stories were better.. But now just.. Ugghh..uhuh..ohno.. well at least her lips won’t be dry with all that wet look chap stick or lip gloss miles gastineau villenueva wears.. All those names… EGADS..

So, “the show may have run out of story for Adamson.” Hogwash! They still have plenty of story for Noah’s arrogant grandfather, fickle father, neurotic mother, annoying sisters, and everyone else in the family.

Personally, I preferred Adamson’s predecessor Kevin Schmidt, but to say that there is no more story for a core Genoa City family member is ludicrous!

I agree but they never seem to run out of stories for Hunter King! Why not save money and send her to New York with Kyle.

Hunter King can act, she has won 2 Daytime Emmys. Hunter has 2 more years left on her contract.

Too funny, Nikki. Love the humor.

Evan, Emmy awards are NOT a viable measurement of good acting.
The very fact that Hunter King won two Emmys is proof positive that these awards are meaningless.

James…dude…of course, I get what you’re saying here…especially the part about Kevin Schmidt. Oh…at some point (or whatever), if Kevin Schmidt himself is unavailable (or whatever) to come back to Y&R, then I think that the show should write Noah out FOR GOOD!!!!! Hey…unless it’s Schmidt, I cannot bear to watch Y-E-T ANOTHER ‘Noah Recast’…AT ALL!!!!! NO, NO AND MORE NO!!!!!!

Take care, Brother.

P-e-a-c-e.

Hello Brother!

I fully understand your points and agree with you that “we don’t need another recast.” (Picture Tina Turner in Thunderdome singing that lyric.)

Peace to you as well…

Hi, James,
I agree, my friend. Ridiculous with a Capital R. I liked Kevin, myself ( looks so much like David Tom). But, I am so accustomed to seeing Adamson as Noah, I am disappointed.
He worked so well with Courtney…but, no, ‘they’ kept Summer instead. Why wasn’t she in boarding school like the rest of the Newman kids?
I also think that Noah and Marissa make a non-cohesive, haphazard couple. They do not complement each other at all. I do not mind seeing Sofia once in a while; but, I mind where Robert is concerned.

Hi Friend!

While I am glad that you also liked Schmidt, I definitely appreciate your points regarding Adamson. And, you’re right with your analysis of Noah’s relationship with Courtney and, later, Marissa.

One other point: Recasts are always interesting, as some viewers resist them whereas others eventually embrace them. I know I am in the minority, but I actually preferred the GH Nikolas recast version of Stephen Martines over originator/”resumpter” Tyler Christopher.

Hey, James,
I am not into Tyler, at all….I must also be in the minority, LOL. He has a large fan-base. We all have different tastes, thoughts and values. These are colorful sites, and unlike some posters on GH, we appreciate our differences here, and discuss them.
Adamson, albeit unassuming, is a pleasure to watch, in my opinion. He was probably the only ‘pristine’ character until Marissa and Victor distorted his view of what’s the right thing to do or not…..bad influence.
And, you are so right about recasts. Prime example; Justin Hartley. He took root as Adam without a hitch, whereas, in my opinion, Gina T, Burgess and Jason T did not. There are those, however, who think differently….I accept that…
Happy Easter, dear friend.

Hi CeeCee!

Again, you hit it out of the park!

So… we’re sympatico on Tyler… And your analysis of Y&R’s recasts is on the mark.

You are so right about the “different tastes, thoughts and values.” At this site and elsewhere, it might be easy to take umbrage with those who disagree with us instead of focusing on those who see things the way we do, or better still, appreciating all points of view!

Happy Easter to you as well! 🙂

Thank you, James.

At last!!!!! It’s about time!!!!! Oh…write Noah out of Y&R ALTOGETHER and I’ll be an EVEN HAPPIER CAMPER!!!!! Bottom Line Here: As far as I’m concerned, Noah’s time in Genoa City a la Y&R is up!!!!! S-A-Y-O-N-A-R-A!!!!!

I agree jaybird, Noah is boring and needs to go. I want Sheila Carter back pronto lol.

Frank…y-e-p. Robert Adamson’s, uh, take (or whatever) on Noah has always annoyed the H-E-L-L out of me!!!!! Oh…and I (also) want that Sheila Carter chick to come back to Y&R. Dude…to me, that would SERIOUSLY R-O-C-K!!!!! Lauren and Sheila’s cat-fights on both Y&R and B&B were WONDERFULLY EPIC!!!!!! Y-e-p.

Have a good one, Frank.

P-e-a-c-e.

Oh, my gosh, Frank. I had the same thought about Sheila, as i wrote to Nikki. However, I want Sheila to come collect Summer. She can do whatever she wants with her.

Awwwww, Jay. Noah is so cute and cuddly. LOL.
Seriously, it is the writers who make him boring. They always compartmentalize him to make room for the BELLE of the ball; Summer. Later, my friend.

I don’t like Luca with Summer. I wish Luca would leave.

I like Noah and Robert, but don’t like Noah and Marisa together. Wish they’d given him a decent storyline.

Lol, Mo.
Yup. I think Marissa and Luca should stay married and go back to Spain.LOL.
But, I like Marissa, only not with Noah. Luca is sort of neither here nor there…..But, if he is coupled with Summer? Oh, boy!!!!! I still think , it’s done to drive Victor over the edge; whether with Summer or Victoria.

Finally found a chat siht. Been watching Y&R for decades. Always thought this Noah was boring. And no sparks with Marissa for me at all. Summer doesn’t bother me as much as she used to. She’s become a better actor. Pet peeve is Abby. I don’t like this actor’s take at all.

I think this is unfortunate. Not only is Noah a strong character with established roots, but Robert Adamson is a good actor.

There are other characters and actors that are just not connecting … Summer and Abby are often mentioned as superfluous … dead weight … cringe worthy stories.

I’m starting to wonder if they hire new writers every few weeks, and tell them to write whatever you like, and don’t worry about the history of the characters because we’re going to send everyone in new, unbelievable directions again in a few weeks.

I’ve been surprised the last year+ whenever ratings have gone up – how can that be, because I’m ready to stop watching completely.

I hear you, patti. Not sure why Noah needs to go. I would want him close by as there are developments ahead for his family. I am disappointed when writers seem in a rush to have characters build families, then SORAS the kids, only to have them as young adults and gone. Look, you build the family, use the family.

Hmm let’s see they no longer have Kyle Abbott now Noah Newman is gone oh but they do have story for Abby and Summer two blonde giggling airheads. Yep JFP & Pratt at it again. My sister called me the other day she still watches and said run to the television if your home they just changed the Chancellor Mansion set I took the bait gosh how awful . First of all Jill would never give a mansion to Billy with his gambling problems and second Billy would never want it. Answer give our new pet his own set! I guess I will never tape this show again because Phelps and Pratt are there to stay. UGH!

Good post k/kay! Its lazy writing. Jill and Colin are not around, they killed off Kay out of respect to the actor and your right, Jill would NEVER hand that mansion over to ANYONE! They pissed all over the decor and gave it to a playboy who will NEVER grow up! BTW, I loved Jeanne but no actor is bigger than the show. When Kay died it washed away the Chancelors and now we get Newman versus Abbott EVERYDAY!

That was the Chancellor Mansion? ….could have fooled me.
This idea for Billy to live there just doesn’t compute. Did I mishear?

It’s really sad that Jill and Colin are gone. They erred when they had Esther leave the mansion. Billy could have moved in with him mom and Colin. That would be good story, but Billy there on his own? No. I want Jill and Colin back.

I truly do not recognize this show anymore. Jill would never give anyone Katherine’s house. This is so disrespectful to the history of the Chancellor family.

Robert will succeed. He is talented and comes across as a good guy. What is good for the show and it appears to be the direction they are going, Kyle and Noah go off screen for a while and are recasted and come back as two mature 30 somethings.

Robert Adamson has never impressed me as Noah so I can’t say that I’m too upset by the news.

I find it incredible just how determined this show is to make Summer happen. Give up, Y&R — the character isn’t sympathetic and forcing her down viewers’ throats won’t make them like her. Summer never should’ve been a heroine; she would’ve worked better as a Liza Colby-esque trouble maker with the Newman fortune to assist in her schemes (then the Jack is her father storyline could’ve served as a comeuppance of sorts). I am constantly amazed by this show’s insistence on declawing all its female characters and turning them into spineless jellyfish who are defined by either their desperate need for a man to call their own or by a case of the baby rabies.

Well said, Alan. If spineless jellyfish doesn’t work for the Y&R female…well, heck; let’s just turn her into a crazy maniac. Same recycled story…..

I still can’t get over the mess of the Chancellor mansion. What happened to Esther? Didn’t Kay put something in the will that allowed Esther and her daughter too live there? How did Jill overlook that? The last time I saw Esther Dylan gave her a job in charge of the Coffee Shop but whenever anyone goes there he’s pouring them coffee. I hate that we’re losing another core family member. Noah could be interested in the newbie (Alicia Coppola coming in. If the budget is tight get rid of Summer. She’s a dead weight and is only still there because she’s J.F.P’s lap monkey.

You are absolutely right, Nikki. I think the same way. What to do? I hope and pray, these remaining four, do not come to an end.
I don’t ever remember a heavy influx of new actors/character such as this….all the soaps. It’s almost a competition , vying for attention.

Spineless jellyfish, crazy or a victim or stepford– I would love to see one of the men play jellyfish to a big pushy broad like myself.

I would love him on GH…he is sexy and would be a great addition

A recast of Morgan!

Yeah, Timmmy…good call !!.
I don’t know if you have noticed, but, Morgan is wearing a toupee. I’m serious. Poor guy…..he is so young.
That’s the reason he shaved his head, at one point. He had patches of bald spots and I had said something, but…….
Anyway, Adamson would be perfect….so likeable.

No way love Bryan

Yes or kill Morgan off.

“Run out of stories” for legacy character Noah Newman? Are they serious? Just when Robert has been doing excellent work and finally making Noah a (much delayed) great character in the Y&R canvas. Very sad.

Watching Victor’s trial now and there is not one reporter, nor anyone but the main cast in the courtroom. I thought they were using mannequins for the jurors but just saw movement by two people. I will suspend disbelief with doppelgangers and just about anything–but things like this really piss me off. Why can’t we have a “real” trial with jurors and spectators and so forth.

Lol, Peggy…..too funny….mannequins, indeed. Rigid people; rigid atmosphere.
Why, you ask? More people on the set, more money to pay out.

Hey CeeCee- I did not see even one of the jurors faces, did you? I might have missed it but- I know, more people means more money but come on- this trial is what we all have been waiting for and all I could focus on was how unreal it seemed. Hey did you watch any of that on-line Winterthorne? Also, how do the soaps decide who stays, goes, gets a contract or gets cut- I am so curious how this all works. Happy Easter.

Why dont they let fans win a contest and be jurors? People get to be extras in movies all the time for little or no money. Be a little realistic!

That is a great idea.

Same sort of thing happened at the last Nurses Ball on GH. Hardly anyone was there, and it certainly didn’t have the excitement and fun of previous ones. Wonder if that is why we haven’t seen one this year. Plus, Richard Simmons has been MIA. 🙂

What does it cost to toss in a few extras with no lines? I would rather have a real ball or courtroom scene and a good story acted by people that do a good job then a few soap legends filling the screen with their egos.

I dont think there is a NB this year? I always looked forward to it but like you pointed out last year, it wasnt really an effort by Frank and his crew. Richard, I hope he is well, love his heart!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

It’s a milestone we couldn’t let pass by without taking some time to celebrate as a family (and, of course… eating some cake). 🍰 We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE 16,000th Episode?

The 16,000th episode will feature Jason Morgan returning to the town of Port Charles, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) reuniting, and a new surgeon, Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) joining the staff of ‘General Hospital.’
