General Hospital
Robert Gossett Exits General Hospital
More casting changes are afoot at General Hospital as they re-set the show with several new additions coming in and some favorites going out. Now comes word that two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Robert Gossett has indeed wrapped his current run as Marshall Ashford.
If you caught the October 3rd episode, Marshall admits to his son, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), that he has an opportunity to go on tour with jazz great Wynton Marsalis. While he said he didn’t want to leave his son and the family given all that TJ (Tajh Bellow) is going through after the loss of his baby, Curtis pushes him to accept the offer and go on the tour and the two hug it out.
Fans of the show immediately wanted to know if this meant the end of Gossett’s time on GH, and the answer is, it is, for now. However sources confirmed to Soap Opera Digest, that Gossett’s exit is not intended to be permanent, although Marshall will be off the canvas for an extended period.

Gossett first appeared on General Hospital back in 2021 and in his short time on the show racked up three Daytime Emmy nominations and took home the gold twice – the last time back in June of 2024 at the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.

Robert’s exit comes on the heels of Kelly Monaco (Sam) leaving, while Van Hansis (Lucas) Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) and the incoming Alexa Havins (Lulu) have now, or are entering the GH canvas. The question becomes are the most exits and entrances forthcoming as we head towards November Sweeps?
Check out the Michael Fairman Channel’s interview with Gossett immediately following his 2024 Emmy win below.
Now let us know, are you sad Marshall has departed Port Charles? Would you like to see him back sooner than later? Weigh-in via the comment section.
At least they gave him an exit story. Marshall wasn’t seen from early April until he was featured around Irene’s funeral.
The character can use a break. I’m sure Gossett, with his tremendous talent, will pop up in other things pretty quickly.
I love the character marshall. I am sad that he is leaving. He will be missed
I just hate the Black guy leaving. Too many Black people watch this program not to be represented. There are 20+ white people in this soap.
GH has the most Black performers on contract that they’ve had in their history. Curtis, Portia, Trina, TJ, Jordan and Isiah. Throw in a frequently recurring Stella and occasional Brick and there’s a good representation on the cast.
I only like Stella, they can get rid of the rest. Love Cassandra. Sick of Carly, and Molly and her sister
Christina.
I agree with you
Oh ok let’s just make this a race thing. Look at all the white actors they’ve let go also. Dude get over it. This dude wasn’t on enough and never really had a good storyline anyway. It’s time to let go of the ones that really are just fillins. Portia is another one that needs to go. Same a Alexis needs gone. Stop with make shit about race you are the Problem with the country. Marshall has had no good storylines since Epiphany passed away.
I am happy Marshall is gone, too. I agree that Portia needs to go, but so does Molly. GH needs to send Lucky, LuLu, Laura & Kevin, packing. GH would be a lot better without that old baggage. Keep Carley, the only Spenser worth watching. She is great.
Bring back Sam & Finn, they should have never left.
Give Jason a story line
He should be with Carley or Sam.Please get rid of Drew No one needs him.
I say get rid of Portia, molly, Drew and Christina
Send Laura packing? Can guarantee that’s not going to happen.
The Spencers ARE the heart & soul of GH and have been since 1978.
Finn would never be that. Nor would any of the other 666 characters played by him and his buddy Roger Howarth.
I’ll agree with you on Hallmark Drew of course. But I’m fairly sure he’s gone soon anyway, assuming he wins his election and moves to Washington DC.
“Old baggage?” They’re called legacy characters; soaps are made up of legacy characters and families. Most of us want more to return; not to leave. Lucky? Many of us are thrilled he’s back. Again; a legacy character who’s been missed, as has Jonathan Jackson who plays Lucky. How long have you been watching GH?
How bigoty of you to be counting…if that isn’t racist, I don’t know what is!
While we’re getting rid of people…Holly & Ric are a waste of time and space!
Great actor …lack of story
thought he and Stella would have a romance, waste of potential for 2 great actors.
I agree and I’d like to more chemistry between Curtis and Porsche.
I agree with you. It would be interesting to see a relationship with Marshall and Stella. Definitely 2 great actors.
I’m so mad about Kelly monaco be fired!!!!!!
Shame on you writers it’s always the good ones that get let go. Love you kelly and wish nothing but the very best.
Would love to see Kelly in a prime time show. Chicago Med, PD, or Fire would be awesome for her!
I don’t know about that…. the turnover in the Dick Wolf universe is a lot worse than GH these days. Probably not the best place for an actor to find “stable employment”.
I agree
No way!!!!!!!
Now that Marshall’s going on the road with Wynton Marsalis, Curtis will need somebody to run his nightclub, now that he’s pretty much taken over the head office at Aurora Media since Drew went into politics.
Remember when it was said that Lucky Spencer would be a lot more like his father this time around? Well, what did Luke do after he returned to Port Charles in 1993? He ran a nightclub. So maybe Lucky might follow in dear old dad’s footsteps and become manager of the Savoy? I’m really not sure if he wants to go back to the PCPD after over a decade away from the badge.
And since we have recently seen that Lucky can appreciate a good poker game, there’s always the chance that Selina Wu’s backroom casino might resume operations at the Savoy, under his management. Though “uncle Sonny” might be a little uncomfortable with that….
Funny, I was thinking the same thing about Lucky and The Savoy. There’s too many characters at the PCPD right now anyway.
Remember that Lucky does have a musical background. That could come into play.
Great actor and he had a good run on the show overall. But it’s a good time for Marshall to take a break, he’s really not needed on the canvas at the moment. They kind of missed the boat on two potential romance stories for Marshall. The first was Epiphany, they never explored that to its full potential before Sonya Eddy’s unfortunate passing, and then I think there could have definitely been something with Stella. There were sparks there. Maybe something for down the road.
They are making so many senseless decisions.
Three years on the show and three nominations with two wins? There are 30 to 50 year alumni on this show that haven’t been recognized that much? Sounds like quota wins to me. Gimme a break. But then again ABC is the most “woke” network out there.
Probably want to take your racist comments to a different website
Really? Antisemitic ones seems to have gotten the okay.
Please advise to said antiemetic comments.
Well let’s see; when I said that there are no Jewish characters in the midst of all this diversity…many black characters, five gay characters, two Asian characters, transgender, Latinas…not ONE Jewish character even as they strive for more and more diversity. In sixty years, I think there have been two Jewish characters (one a complete stereotype) spaced years apart. And what did I get from this site? Not one agreement; not one supportive comment. Actually got accused of racism for even bringing it up, excuses that just because all these other minorities were on shouldn’t affect how I feel and this one was the best: a black poster telling me that black people were Americans, and when I’m asked him if he was implying Jews weren’t, he said yes, and that we should “wait our turn.” Not ONE poster said anything. Not ONE.
Thank you for your post Rebecca1.
Thank you for acknowledging my post GH fan. It matters and is appreciated. Many times Jewish people are either ignored or condemned for even bringing it up. People don’t seem to understand what a glaring omission it is to those of us who are Jewish as we see more and more diversity yet not one Jewish character created. And yet we’re supposed to sit back and agree that there aren’t “enough” black characters, etc. I’ve said this ad nauseum; there is more to diversity than black people. Yet that demographic has taken front and center.
Just wondering….
Do you watch Days of Our Lives, and if so, what do you think of the two Jewish characters they added to the show a few months ago (Bobby Stein & Rebecca Goldman)
I keep reading this argument by you that African Americans actors, gay actors and Asian actors are somehow responsible for the lack of Jewish characters on soaps. This is an issue you should take up with the networks and the producers who produce soaps not with the actors who are only fulfilling their craft.. if a black protester insulted you by implying that your ethnicity did not make you an American I strongly condemn it. However as an African American you now see how we minorities, people of color and the LbGT community feel when our representation on screen is repeatedly denigrated as being solely the result of wokeness, DEI or poitical pressure while ignoring the nearly 70 year history of soaps refusing to give us substantive roles in the first place.
Hi Sat..no. I actually only watched a short while a few years ago and actually liked the show a lot. Started when Tyler Christopher was playing Stefan and Marci Miller, Abigail, and then when Brandon took over and Kate Mansi came back. Then I got too busy for another soap haven’t watched since (though I hope to get back to it.) So, lol, to finally answer your question…no. I haven’t seen it so am unfamiliar with these characters.
I did a quick google and it doesn’t seem the actress playing that character is Jewish in real life. Wouldn’t think so by her name and haven’t seen anything in her bio. Blake is half Jewish I believe on his father’s side.
To me, Jews should be played by Jews. The reason being? Jews physical features are stereotyped. GH had stereotypical Bernie; he fit the stereotype in look and the way he talked. But then they have Matt Cohen come on and he plays a priest. They have Jewish Tamara Braun come on and she too isn’t Jewish. They have Jewish Rena Sofer and Jewish Amanda Setton playing Italians. Jewish Sean Kanan playing AJ, Jewish Stuart Damon playing Alan Quartermaine.. And many viewers don’t know these actors are Jewish. But give them a “Bernie?” And that’s Jewish to them. So for me, I’d like to see the above-mentioned actors and other Jewish actors play Jewish characters to “represent.” It’s very important; it’s changed the perception of many minorities be it race, religion or sexual preference or identity with representation. It’s the same for Jewish people and it’s just not out there to any large degree. Not many know that Don Diamont (Bill) from B&B is Jewish in real life…
On that note, if you get this message, what’s your impression of those two Jewish characters? Stereotyped or not?
The Rebecca Goldman character was pretty much a “bit player” and I don’t believe she ever talked about being Jewish, but with that name, it seemed like they were going for that impression. Unfortunately she turned out to be a dirty cop who ended up as the girlfriend of a hillbilly drug dealer, so not exactly a positive “role model” type of character.
As for Bobby Stein (who was also known as “Everett Lynch” he mentioned he was Jewish and did not celebrate Xmas during the Helliday season last year. Oddly enough he ended up at the Horton house on Xmas eve, during their usual ritual of hanging the family ornaments on the Xmas tree. And of course Blake Berris had previously played Nick Fallon, who was a great grandson of Tom & Alice Horton, so my theory was that Bobby was eventually going to be revealed as Nick’s twin brother, given up for adoption at birth, because Bobby had DID… as did Nick’s mother, Jessica. I wouldn’t say Bobby fit any Jewish stereotypes, because he didn’t really talk about being Jewish again after the previously mentioned Helliday references. The character was recently killed off in the dumbest serial killer storyline ever. Not sure why they pulled the plug on him, especially with the possibility that he might have been a “long lost Horton” in a time when that family’s numbers have been really decimated in Salem.
Meanwhile, you have Brandon Barash (Jewish actor) on Days, and – just as he was on GH – he’s playing an Italian from a mob family, Stefan DiMera. (he took over the role from Tyler a few years back) Tamara is also there and also playing an Italian “former” mobster. So apparently, just as it was over at GH, I guess they think either side of the Mediterranean sea is interchangeable as far as casting goes?
Days did have a storyline a couple decades back where Dr. Mike Horton met a fellow doctor, Robin Jacobs who was Jewish, and they fell in love. Mike (who at the time was portrayed by Jewish actor Michael T. Weiss) actually considered converting to Judaism. My fuzzy Devil memory doesn’t remember if he ever went through with it, but eventually Robin moved to Israel. He might have left with her. They had a son named Jeremy who grew up in Israel, though when he eventually showed up in Salem in SORASed form he looked like a blonde surfer kid. Mike was blonde by then himself, in recast form.
Thanks for getting back. I can’t edit my comment but I meant to write that Tamara Braun who played Carly and then Kim on GH, and Ava Vitali on Days IS Jewish in real life. I get from your reply that you know that but I didn’t specify that in my comment (by accident) so wanted to clarify.
As an fyi: Jewish people have blonde and red hair too (which I assume you also know but waasn’t sure from he was recast as a blonde surfer kid). From Lauren Bacall to Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Paul Newman, and Sean Kanan (thought I’d throw a GHer in there.
There’s a very deliberate omission; not writing in a Jewish character. And honestly? I wouldn’t even mind if they stuck with one demographic; the legacy characters and families all seemingly of the same background. But when they decided they needed diversity, and seem to be checking off every box, and hire many Jewish actors but can’t write one Jewish character, that’s a conscious decision.
I wrote about this twice before on this site I believe: the character of Hayden Barnes mentioned her adoptive father was Jewish. And where was that father? In jail for a Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme. Now WHY would they write something like that? Her father wasn’t even a character on the show; they showed him for minutes in one scene from jail. Yet for some unknown reason they implied he was Jewish (because she reminisced to Liz how she loved Passover) and THAT’s the crime he was in for. If something like that was written for any other minority, a crime that is associated with their background and I can give examples but lest I create an online riot I’ll refrain, there’d be letters to the show and online outrage.
The entire point of “diversity” is to de-other the “other.” To rid of stereotypes and represent people from all backgrounds; it’s especially important for those who have been historically and presently portrayed in just one way. When Matt Cohen was hired my first thought was: “Ooh! A good-looking Jewish doctor!” And then, “Ummm; nope. A priest.” LOL and smh….
Apart from the blatant and disgusting racism in your comment, you clearly have no clue how the Emmys work. ABC has no say in which actors submit their names for Emmy consideration. Any actor on any show can submit themselves for an Emmy. ABC also has no say in which actors get nominated, nor who wins. The awards are on voted on by people that work in the industry across various networks and studios.
Robert Gossett won his Emmys because he’s a talented actor, not because of any “quota.” But I wouldn’t expect someone that uses dog whistle buzz words like “woke” to let facts get in the way of your backwards views.
His character has not been on the show long enough to be missed. Also something else I question is why Blaze was let go but her mother, someone who has just joined the cast was kept on?? Doesn’t make sense.
I agree. I liked Blaze and I liked her with Kristina, until the writers screwed them up. Blaze shouldn’t have left Kristina’s side when she was in the hospital. She shouldn’t have allowed her mother to talk her into leaving to get some lunch, while Kristina was at death’s door. The whole thing didn’t make sense, and then they topped it off by writing Blaze out. It’s the first time Kristina’s had a healthy, mutual, relationship, and the writers just ended it.
There are plenty of us who can see why you would feel this way given the drastic changes that are being made. These changes are unacceptable and make no sense.
Don’t keep Robert Gossett away too long. Not enough “mature” actors left on soaps as it is for us mature audience viewers to relate to as it is.
HATED that Kelly Monaco isn’t on General Hospital anymore. I’m 71 & started watching General Hospital when I was a little girl with my GRANDPA!!!
He’s a wonderful actor and I for one am team sooner.
Very sad to hear that Robert Gossett is another actor leaving GH. I will miss the character of Marshall, hope he will be back again. I have watched GH for a long time, & am not happy with all the changes, especially with Kelly being let go. Very sad.
He’s not a long time character of the show therefore it’s not even close to Kelly leaving in any way the same. His character leaving will not affect the story lines as someone who has played such a long role as Kelly.
I will not be sad to see him go. Never cared for his storyline.
That’s your loss, sorry.Lucas needed his dad, so whats wrong with that in his SL?
He played a great part and hope he returns in the future. I thought we would seeing a romance with Stella.
I’m going to really miss him. He added a real human touch.
I wish he would stay. I love Marshall. Please don’t be Don’t take him off like y’all did Kelly.
Please bring Robert the trumpet player back it was bad enough when he didn’t marry that beautiful lady before she died in real life. Please bring Robert back he is one of my favorite actors on the show.
Yes want Robert Gosset to return!
I loved his character on the show. He could always calm everyone down with his good advice and love he gave his family. Better than the mouthy Aunt Stella, always giving someone unneeded advice.
He is a unique character and I’ll miss him. Curtis and family are a treasure to mine for stories to add variety and blend with the GH society. I appreciated how they raised cultural issues and struggles at times in the past few years. I’m hoping the writers aren’t deconstructing this group of characters.
I suspect the talented Robert Gossett may be snatched up by the new CBS soap during Marshall’s absence. GH’s loss will be their gain, and that may be great for the actor but sad for our show IMHO.
Love Marshall, so sad to see him leave! Sad that Sam is leaving too! Sometimes I wonder what the writers are thinking…even more times I wonder why I even watch and I have been watching off and on since the beginning!
It’s a real shame that after surviving all these years the writers are running this show into the ground. The story lines are awful and they’re leaving so many doors unclosed. Violet not saying goodbye to Elizabeth may be the one of the worst oversights I’ve seen.
Marshall leaving is sad but I think it opens the door for more action and plots at the Savoy. Hopefully he returns with an interest in pursuing Stella. The main one from that family that needs to depart is Portia. Terrible character with no depth.
I see no need for Lucas, and the actor isn’t great. They should’ve brought back Hayden and had her fight for violet and have a rift with Liz.
3 Years ..3 Noms….2 Wins❗️ Who Knew? Marshall Has a Thin Storyline. I Am Surprised He Was Nominated…Let Alone WIN Anything. I won’t Miss Marshall. I’m Glad He’s Gone and That He And Stella Were Never Paired As a Couple. Marty Is Dead Weight Also and Lost His Charm Along With His Southern Accent. I Wish The Previous Trina Was Brought Back. This Trina’s Voice Is Annoyingly High Pitched.
General Hospital
GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

Photo: JPI
PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

Photo: PGibbons
IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
General Hospital
‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.
Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.
Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON
Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”
Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC
Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”
When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES
One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”
“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good. I was working with Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.
A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?
As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”
Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.
You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.
Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.
Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.
Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL
Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.
A VENGEFUL PAST
As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.
On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.
Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife.
