Ryan Carnes Returns As Lucas To General Hospital! What Were Your First Impressions!

Courtesy/ABC
On Friday’s episode of General Hospital, viewers saw the highly-awaited return of Ryan Carnes in the role of Lucas Jones, the adopted son of Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) and Tony Jones, and the biological son of Julian Jerome (William deVry) and Cheryl Stansbury!
When Carnes as Lucas, made his re-entrance on to the canvas, he first met with Bobbie and Luke (Tony Geary), where Bobbie was already lamenting about telling Lucas the truth … that Julian is alive! This comes along with her worries that daughter Carly (Laura Wright) is missing! When the door bell rings at Carly’s, it’s none other than Lucas!
Ryan Carnes has some exchanges with GH vets Tony Geary and Jackie Zeman, where Bobbie almost spills the beans to Lucas, but he does notice that Bobbie is not eating and heads to none other than Kelly’s to get some food for his mom, where he runs into Sam (Kelly Monaco), who at first does not realize who he is! The kicker: Sam just walked out of the diner on Julian, who came to quiz her about Lucas! Will Julian and Lucas meet face to face on Monday’s episode? Stay tuned!
So, what were your first impressions of Ryan Carnes return as Lucas! We came away with a high-five for Mr. Carnes! Weigh-in below!

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.

Loving him!
He was always my favorite Lucas so I’m glad they got him back. I enjoyed his scenes Friday and look forward to seeing him interact with Sam and Julian. I also look forward to scenes with Kirsten Storms’ Maxie when she returns, I always liked their relationship.
So glad he is back. I always thought he was the best Lucas.
Ryan’s time on the show was actually the brief period of time (over the last 25 years) that I didn’t watch GH… so I don’t really have a frame of reference for him or his approach to this character. When they first started talking about “Lucas” I was hoping someone from one of the axed shows would get a chance at this role, so I was a little disappointed when I heard Ryan was taking the role. But I can’t give an accurate answer until I’ve seen more of him. So far, he seems ok.
He looks more like he’d be Silas’s son than Julians…imo…he fits right in…like he’s always been there!
Was that the real Dr.O named Chief of Staff or her twin…also will it be Luke buried alive in that grave Shirley Jones stumbles upon?
Excellent question, jimh! I asked the same one on a more recent thread! It’s funny because I was just thinking last week how wacky and wonderful it would be for “Dr. O.” to run GH, never thinking that it could actually happen! But given her rather “prim and proper” exterior on yesterday’s episode, it does make me surmise that this is another entirely different character, or at the very least another identity that our beloved mutter has adopted to “hide” in plain sight???? Although if that is really the original “O’ then who is locked up in the pokey? There has to be a twist there to explain this delightful surprise! All I can say is that this has been the best development in a painfully boring year so far!!!!!
Very impressed. He seems relaxed and his acting style was very real. He is def more handsome to me this time around!!
Glad they brought back Ryan Carnes instead of anyone else, good choice.
Might his bio Mom be in tow? Perhaps that is the role Donna Mills has been tapped to play?
The character was killed off in the 1990’s. Donna Mills is 73. Far to old to play Cheryl Stansbury. I am betting Donna Mills will play the mother of Julian Jerome.
First impression that he looked hot as hell hope he doesn’t hook up with brad like I heard, Lucas is way to hot for brad especially if it’s true that Lucas chases after brad instead of the other way around.
I was so glad to see Lucas!!!!…GH did a good job casting Kelly Monaco, Ryan Carnes
and William DeFry, they all look like family!!!!!
I also enjoyed Sam and Silas banter when they was at Kelly!!!!
Also Come On Sam!!!! I would love for Daughter & Father to bond!!
I agree about the family resemblance factor & the need for more Jerome bonding. Julian needs to be seen playing w/Danny again! Those two were adorable together. But, I also liked Danny w/Faison…so what do I know?
Well, he totally outshined Tony Geary in their scenes together on Friday IMO
I immediately like him, just something appealing about him. Can’t wait to see what is to come.
Loved him. He was very natural, relaxed & looked fantastic!
It’s like he’s always been there, good casting choice.
He fits in perfect and is a wonderful actor and looks like he could be related to Sam and Julian!
HOTTIE! Loved him! I remember him on the show years ago and he seems a lot hotter and sexier this time around. I am hoping his triangle with Felix and Brad is quite temporary.
It was alright, though, not the Lucas I would’ve preferred to come back. Hopefully they pair him with someone who isn’t Brad or Felix, though. Or that he isn’t written as a cliche.
It’s great seeing RC back in the role of Lucas, and he looks fantastic. I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. Hope he sticks around Port Chuck for a while–I loved his interaction with Luke!
Hope he gets a good story line. Good to see Bobbie on the front burner. Lucas and Luke hit it off immediately. Lucas and Julian do look like father and son. Good choice.
He slipped right back in easily. Seemed very natural. I was happy to see a familiar face at the door. 🙂
Seems OK. But way too good for either Brad or Felix. Would hate to see him date either. Can’t we dump both Brad and Felix and find another guy for Lucas? (Although Brad did raise quite high in my estimation when he told off Felix last Friday. Even so, he’s still shady and Felix is still Gladys Kravitz…)
I remember when he was on before… and now he’s a man (yeah baby) so it makes the related to Julian better.. they have similar builds too.
and they’re both easy on the eyes! 🙂
welcome back!
I don’t like him. Send him back to Seattle.
