Save DALLAS Campaign Gains Momentum! Patrick Duffy and EP Cynthia Cidre Want The Ewings To Live On!

Ever since TNT decided to put the kibosh on the reboot of Dallas, fans of the series have been heartsick as well as the cast, that after three seasons and the bombshell cliffhangers, the cable network decided to end its run.

Fans immediately have been encouraging others to sign the #SaveDallas petition where as of right now over 71,700 fans have joined in the fight!

The site Ultimate Dallas also received a response from Dallas EP Cynthia Cidre who shared this with the many fans of the soap opera: ” I am heartbroken over the TNT decision to cancel our show.  As you may know, TNT is undergoing a huge sea change, and sadly, we’ve fallen victim to it.  But the rallying cry you have on your website applies to us here in LA, too:” “yesterday we cried, today we fight back.”   Dallas is blessed not only with the best cast and crew I’ve ever had the privilege to work with, but also with the best, most supportive, and most passionate executives I’ve ever worked with.  They’re not taking our cancellation lying down.  They’re fighting back, and with the help of our wonderful fans, I’m hoping that we’ll be able to find a new home for our beloved show.  Thank you for everything you’ve done for us.’

Meanwhile, long time Dallas star Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) has continued to take to Twitter to encourage fans to keep the fight and that he too, wants to continue the Ewings! Duffy tweeted:  “I for one am not done with Bobby Ewing! Let’s see if some network wants the Ewings to live on! Love you all!!”  A few days later he tweeted: “The Save Dallas surge is fantastic everyone. Let’s keep going. I’m feeling All Ewing all over again. Love Patrick” And followed that with; “We all save Dallas... Let’s all have a big-ass party at Southfork… What do you all say ! ?!”

So, do you think we can bring back the fourth season of Dallas? If not with TNT, where would you like to see it resurrected again? And, have you signed the online petition?  Comment below!

Please don’t cancel Dallas! I love the show and look forward to watching it!!

Please don’t cancel Dallas. My family has followed Dallas since the late 1970’s. As my children are now adults, we have purchased dvd’s to watch when we are together. My children reside in Sweden, Texas, Boston, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
We spend hours watching the original series and now enjoy the new generation. My family anticipates each season! There are and have been great writers for this exciting drama. Dallas has generations of loyal viewers and I hope we can all #savedallas. Thank you.

EVER SINCE I WAS LITTLE I WAS A HUGE FAN OF THIS SHOW AND I SAY BRING DALLAS BACK AND SAVE IN MY OPINION ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS

I think it can be saved and could surface on another network…might give hope to AMC, OLTL, too…now I’m missing “Ryan’s Hope”…but I digress, bring back Dallas, yes!

That would be awesome if DALLAS found a new home!

Please! Let’s save Dallas!

I love Dallas!!! I was so excited to see TNT bring it to us, I can’t believe they are doing this! I hope another affiliate picks it up ASAP.

Good Luck…my problem with Dallas is there is no J.R…he was the show…second the cast couldve gone on without him but the women in this version were mostly weak, nothing new for Suellen but a return to the bottle, too few episodes between seasons and a terrible time slot…i just couldnt stick with it…enjoyed the first season, then things went downhill from there…i say add a few more episodes, try a different time slot, and drop Ann from the show…bring in a stronger female to play opposite Bobby…maybe ill watch then if the show returns!!!

It’s a shame you didn’t watch season 3 then because I think you would have a different opinion. Yes JR is gone, but John Ross more than proved he is the new JR……and Judith Light’s character is anything but weak. I agree bad day and time, too long between seasons and no advertising but that is not a reflection of the show….. That is all on TNT. Please give season 3 a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised and may even join #SaveDallas!

I would so love for another network (CBS????) to pick up the show. Actually would prefer a cable show based on some of the racy scenes we’ve seen, but whoever would pick the show up would benefit them as well as us fans. SAVE DALLAS

Dallas has to be brought back, but clearly its ratings are not for broadcast television. If it wants to see a growth in audience it has to remain true to its game, in that its writers and executive producer has to retain full creative control over the series. If it were to be brought back to life, on another cable network I’d say CMT – Country Music Television, TruTV, Lifetime TV, USA, A&E, OWN, FXX, FX, WeTV, Hallmark Channel, Hulu, Hulu+, iTunes. My sincerest hope is that it does live on for more then a season, let the blackmail and backstabbing continue to entertain for generations. #EWING #BARNES #RYLAND #SaveDallas

I want this show renewed. But I just don’t see anyone else picking it up. I imagine it’s not cheap due to the cast. To those who want CBS to pick it up – that’s just not going to happen. It’s ratings are way too low to be on broadcast.

It would be nice if TNT would put it back on the air if not maybe CBS I just want the show back on air.I LOVE DALLAS. Yes I signed the petition, a true fan would and I am a true fan of the old and the new.Save DALLAS. Party at Southfork.

NETFLIX !!!

Maybe netflix can be the new home for Dallas.

TNT should have had the decency to at least give them a short-term renewal for another season, maybe 6 episodes or something, just so the writers could wrap things up and give the show a proper send off. To just pull the plug this way with so many stories still unresolved really sucks.

I signed the petition, I hope everyone does. It takes 5 seconds of your time. Hopefully some other network picks them up. There are channels out there that would kill for the type of prime time ratings and demographics that Dallas brought. I don’t know where they might end up, but I do know I will follow the show wherever it goes.

Count me in. I want my show back on, and I want it back on its old network CBS. Let’s do this.

I say screw TNT, they’ve made us suffer, they have put many many fans through hell but I would love to thank TNT. Their cancellation of the show is only going to make it stronger. I’ve heard of fans petition in other circumstances with shows being takin off the air but this is unheard of. The diehard Dallas fans as am I (#SAVEDALLAS) I think are shocking other networks as to how bad we want the show to continue. Getting back to my original response I really think CBS CBS CBS #SAVEDALLAS should and will pick the series BUT BUT should move the show to its original day FRIDAY nights. TNT was all over the place when it came to starting and ending a season, Monday nights if aired that night would have to compete with Monday night football. I just think how awesome would that be if at the end of a hard working week we get to go home have supper and just wait for the Ewing clan to come on to entertain us. Talk about a walk down memory lane. PLEASE CBS #SAVEDALLAS

Please bring back Dallas. Love the old n new series. its a great reboot of the past EWINGS… I don’t watch much tv anymore because nothing hardly on to watch .. However, I tuned in every week to DALLAS and I recorded it on my dvr incase I was to miss it… I love Dallas, the actors , the theme songs, and the ending songs.. ITS great.. Please don’t destroy my tv time!

Let’s do this!

I’ve thought that Dallas/Devious Maids would make a nice “soap block” for Lifetime, but Netflix is the best alternative at this point, IMHO.

Yes I would love too see Dallas live on. Love the show it’s a shame tv has taken over so much I would love to see them back on regular channel, CBS or one of those or even the family channel. there is alot of people who watch family because of Pretty little liars. I would bet you they would have more of an audience on that channel, because it is popular, I am very upset they took it off the air TV as plenty of channels for Dallas to stay but we also need one channel popular that it needs to be seen on. most people would not watch TNT because it really is not a popular channel. so yes please bring back the best night time drama, so we all can have the Ewings back my husband and I watched it every Monday night and now their is nothing on that is more intresting than seeing the Ewings back on television. Especially Patrick Duffy and Josh Henderson Hottie at least he is something to look at. and of course beautiful Linda gray. and Judith Light fabulous remember her on ONE LIFE TO LIVE WHO:S THE BOSS AND SO ON. fantastic actress. all of them are wonderful please bring show back.

I’ve signed, and so has so many others I know. Dallas has been around for most of our lives, it’s a part of us, part of America, the good and the bad. Ewing have lived died and been born right along with our families, and we’ve all shared in it. We’re all a little bit Ewing.

It would be great for CBS to pick up Dallas!!! That way people who don’t have, or cannot afford cable t.v. can watch it again!!!!! I mean, people who watched it years ago, and are eager to see Dallas once again. Please pick up Dallas, CBS!!!!

It would be a sin for a network not to pick up Dallas..
A ton of talented great actors and a spellbinding story, a legend classic show..
Dallas is 1000 times better than most the junk on TV / truth ..

As a Huge fan of Dallas since it all began in 1978, I was heartsick that TNT cancelled the show. Thanks to all the fans and news coverage and articles written I believe Dallas has a good chance to be rebooted. Social Media has made it easier to gain worldwide attention to our cause. #SAVEDALLAS. Thanks for you article!

I’ve signed several petitions and retweeted the links as well. Soap fans are very loyal and we will fight for Dallas and keep fighting for AMC & OLTL! #SaveDallas

all the dallas fans in uk are very sad chanel 5 uk let us down kept changing time slot its on at 12 pm at the moment

What the hell is TNT thinking? It’s the only thing I watch on their network!

I support this campaign. Love this show.

I hope the season gets picked up by some network or Netflix. Of not at least a TV movie to finish out the plot lines. I think we’d all like to see a happy ending to the Ewing saga. Maybe even Bobby and Cliff ending their days as friends. Just a thought.

I want cbs to pick up Dallas . Whooo hooooo #SaveDallas #SaveDallas @cbs

I will watch “Dallas” on any network that shows it. I used to watch the previous version with my parents. Not only did I enjoy the new show very much – but now that both my mom and dad have passed away it was a connection to them in a way. Bring back Dallas!!

its a sad thing it was one the best shows ever only thing I watched on tnt it just like when another word got cancelled is a crime they never lesson to the fans what a shame I wouldnt watch any thing on tnt ever again

The legend of Dallas deserves to continue on and someday, when the time comes, to be given a proper farewell. I heartily applaud the fans of Dallas Nation for their tireless dedication to getting our beloved Dallas back on the air. Larry Hagman would be so proud!

I am SICK – Dallas was my favorite show!! How can they cancel it and leave some of the other shows that are pure junk in their lineup? I too am swearing off of TNT!!!

Hoping that some network will pick up Dallas. It’s the only show my husband and I can agree to watch. Someone, somewhere, please #savedallas!!!!

Patrick {Bobby} I would like to see CBS take it back . It was Friday nights but doesn’t matter just bring back DALLAS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CBS would be a great home for Dallas. It started there and would be a great addition to their lineup. Dallas already has a huge fan base so what have they got to lose. Come on CBS, SAVE DALLAS.

DALLAS is the best show on tv. It has supremely, extremely superb in actors, plots, and drama. You NEVER know what’s going to happen. It is a fantastic entertaining escape from the daily stresses of our lives. It is pure genius and magic! The last time I saw a tv show that had me sitting on the edge of my seat and anxiously waiting for next week’s episode was the first Dallas. Why oh why a tv network wouldn’t want this show on their roster is beyond belief. I honestly believe that Season 4 will bring in a record amount of awards for acting (Judith Light), and best drama, best director, etc. PLEASE SAVE DALLAS !!!

Please SAVE Dallas. This is an electrifying, exciting show, with lots of plots and twists. So many talented actors on the show, just to mention a few, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Josh Henderson, Judith Light, and the others too. Don’t leave us hanging. Some Network has to be smart enough to PICK DALLAS up ? CBS -come on!

please save dallas ive been watching dallas since i was a child and love it

keep DALLAS on the air I love watching the EWINGS.

When Dallas was first cancelled on 10/3, I must admit that I was in shock. Yes, the ratings were low, but two things here: there were shows that had much lower ratings AND the DVR recordings and On Demand ratings were never counted in, which would have brought those ratings up. No one is even denying this. It saddens me to know that, YET AGAIN, a tv network has screwed up. Everyone wants Dallas back and everyone knows what a legend the show was and still is. What is it with these horrid reality shows like those “nude forest people.” Really??? and let’s not forget Honey Boo Boo? How pathetic both these shows are. They lack intelligence and talent. I pray they all wake up to the fact that a good solid scripted show is the way to go. We want Dallas and nothing else.

I never watched the episodes in real time, but DVR’d the whole season and LOVED it from the start. I was skeptical when it was revamped, but it has had me totally hooked for the last 3 seasons and I am so tired of having networks cancel shows that I am invested in without at least allowing for a real ending or a resolution to the cliff hanger (Revolution, V, Invasion, etc.) At LEAST allow for a TV movie to wrap the series up in the style in deserves after being part of American culture since 1979!

Wouldn’t the USA Network be the obvious place for Dallas to continue? Or possibly a 14 episode run on CBS in the summer?

So the #saveDallas campaign is in full force now and seems to be going quite well. Patrick Duffy stated in an interview that he is extremely pleased with how the fan base has reacted (it is also a Global Campaign now, so once again Dallas made history) and to please continue doing as we have been. He stated that negotiations are still going on and because of legalities it takes plenty of time, but where one door closed several are optimistic. So for those of you who do NOT want Dallas back simply because JR is no longer in the show, think again because his son JR is doing one heck of a great job filling those shoes, and give even more time can only do better. Yes bring back Dallas because there are millions of fans out there who will support it. #saveDallas #saveDallas

Please Do Not Give Up.I want it to come on to CW Network.

You have to do one more season TNT. You can’t leave us hanging like that. It’s inhumane. We must know how it ends. At the very least do a two hour movie to wrap up the story lines.

Please Save This Legacy… Long Live DALLAS
#SaveDallas

Please do not cancel Dallas. This was my family’s favorite show. I can’t believe no one has picked up this show up yet. Fans keep fighting!!!!

I have been a loyal fan of the show since handsome Patrick first drove his red ” Ewing” No4 car onto our screens in 1978.Surely some network somewhere, somehow can come up with a plan to save the show.Like all our fans Dallas is simply the best, please save our
show.

I didn’t know Dallas was cancelled. I watched it in the 70s and my daughter and I were enjoying the new version. Please bring it back

TNT cancelled it because they wanted ‘smarter, edgier and better written programming. They will be airing JoJo’ s Circus reruns in its place and expect ratings to double.

C’mon this show in Cidre’ s hands was awful. If she accidentally created a great scene or started a promising storyline, rest assured she would screw it all up before the next episode finished. Horrible producer , shockingly so.

Lifetime’s ‘Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas’ Brings Epic Food Fight and “Slapfest Coup de Grâce”

Get ready for the feuding soap opera divas, when five actresses known for their signature primetime and daytime roles are brought together in Lifetime’s new holiday film, Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas.

Saturday night, December 2nd on Lifetime (8pm ET/7PM CT) marks the highly-anticipated holiday movie premiere featuring: Donna Mills (ex-Knots Landing), Nicolette Sheridan (ex-Knots Landing), Morgan Fairchild (ex-Falcon Crest et al), Linda Gray (ex-Dallas) and Loni Anderson (ex-WKRP in Cincinnati).

Here’s what we do know! In story, five alums from the long-running soap, The Great Lakes reunite for a live Christmas finale. Uh-oh!  Now take a look at the backstory of the colorful cast of characters (pay special attention to the clever twists on the actresses names!)

Photo: Lifetime

LAUREN EWING (Linda Gray) “Everyone thinks I’m so damn good all the time,” confesses the junk food-loving Lauren of her second act as a lifestyle guru. “I don’t know how Gwenyth Paltrow does it!”

DANA CUNNINGHAM (Donna Mills) Now a sitcom mom, she’s yet to make amends to ex-bestie Juliette after abruptly leaving the soap back in the day. Not that she hasn’t tried: “When I thought the world was going to end in Y2K,” Dana says, “I reached out to her, and she never called me back.”

LILY MARLOWE (Loni Anderson) After replacing Dana on ‘Great Lakes’, Lily never again found a role to win her acclaim. “What do I have to show for (my career)? An arc on  For the People – Shonda Rhimes’ only flop!”

JULIETTE MATHESON (Nicollette Sheridan) “She left me for L.A.,” the party girl turned fashion mogul recalls of Dana’s betrayal. Will their feud derail the entire event?

MARGEAUX ROBERTS (Morgan Fairchild) “Fasten your face-lifts, ladies, it’s gonna be a bumpy weekend!” The sassy grande dame of ‘Great Lakes’ sees the Juliette-Dana beef as the perfect escape from her own domestic drama.

Now, making this all the more hysterical is the director of The Great Lakes reunion special, which makes the five women live under the same roof, is its former child star Alex, who has gotten his ex-girlfriend, Nell to direct the finale. Meanwhile, in the subplot. the ‘Ladies of the ’80s’ come up with a plan to get Alex and Nell back together.

As with any good soap opera, there is a major food fight. Linda Gray shared with USA Today ,”The food fight was one take. And it was fabulous.” And of course, their is a bitch-fest slap-fest. Morgan Fairchild revealed, “Oh honey, we all got ours in. Mine was a simple, ‘How dare you?’ with a slap. But I was hoping for a punch.”

Photo: Lauren Dukoff/Lifetime

The movie’s EP, Larry Thompson, who is a Hollywood manager and has Donna Mills as a client, said that the entire scene peaks with the”slapfest coup de grâce.” What is that exactly? That is when Donna Mills pushes Nicollette Sheridan into a pool in a nod to Dynasty’s Lily bond battle between Dynasty’s Alexis (Joan Collins) and Krystle (Linda Evans).

In case you missed it previously, check out the trailer for Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas below, also starring Patrika Darbo, Alec Mapa, Mills real-life daughter, Chloe Mills, and Christopher Atkins with theme song by Tiffany.
