Sebastian Roché Says ‘Never, Say Never’ on Reprising the Role of General Hospital’s Jerry Jacks
Soap operas are known for back-from-the-dead storylines several times over; especially for the villain you thought was long gone. If the villain is not presumed dead, sometimes they have escaped prison or are on the run leaving the door open for them to cause trouble down the lines.
Such is the case for 1923’s Sebastian Roché (ex-Jerry Jacks, General Hospital). When viewers last heard about Jerry it was back in 2019. At that point, he had escaped Steinmauer Maximum Security Prison in Geneva, Switzerland, the facility where international criminals are sent for their crimes. The moment came back on the June 21, 2019 episode during a chat between Robert (Tristan Rogers) and Jerry’s brother, Jax (Ingo Rademacher).
Since leaving GH, Roche has built a successful career in primetime and movie roles. Now he is featured in season two of 1923, the Yellowstone prequel that stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren and streams exclusively on Paramount+. In it, Sebastian plays the role of Father Renaud. This past Sunday, February 23, marked the first episode of season 2, with every Sunday now through April 13th dropping an all-new installment.

US Weekly caught up with Sebastian while he was promoting 1923, and asked him his thoughts of a possible return to General Hospital sometime down the line. Roché shared, “Never say never. No one ever dies (in the show). I don’t know how many times I’ve died.”
Jerry Jacks first revealed himself back in 2007 as the ringleader of the Metro Court Hotel hostage situation. As Sebastian recalls, “Starting there with that Metro Court Hostage Crisis, which became such a huge thing. I had no idea it would be so big, but in a way was a blessing.”
As to where Roché thinks his GH alter-ego is hiding out in 2014, the talented actor gave his creative opinion: “He’s probably in the Caribbean in some beautiful villa. A bit like (James) Bond. Or somewhere in the South Pacific. But you know, he’s a traveler. Traveling incognito, maybe in disguise. I like to think of him sailing, maybe in some beautiful destination.”

Sebastian revealed that he would be open to a GH return, pending the storyline, and if schedules all lined up, as he is currently busy shifting a bit of his focus away from acting and to more of writing/directing/producing projects.
Reflecting on his time on General Hospital, Roché noted, “I remember the kindness of every single cast member. I came in and I thought to myself, ‘I’m going to have a lot of fun, and I’m gonna experiment with certain things.’ They were so open to that.”
So, would you like to see the return of Sebastian Roché as Jerry Jacks on General Hospital? If so, what heinous illegal operation do you think would bring him back to Port Charles or somewhere abroad? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below.
Two things to remember about Jerry:
!) He was never in town when his brother wasn’t around. And considering a blizzard in Hell is more likely than Jax returning, they would have to find an excuse for him to show up without his family involved.
2) Jerry was never calling the shots in any of his criminal enterprises. He was always a mercenary working for somebody else. Helena, Faison, etc. (both of whom are here in Hell and not leaving again). So if he did return, they would have to create a reason why he would be working for some other vilain currently in Port Charles, which would probably be Sidwell at this point. Or maybe Brennan, since he used to have an Australian accent, and has been known to use criminal elements to further the “dark side” of his WSB operations.
Having said that… I wouldn’t bet your soul on seeing Jerry anytime soon.
With his niece as the newest WSB agent, we may have just been given the family connection needed.
Could Jerry Jacks be part of the important work Brennan has in store for his niece, Josslyn?
Jerry working with Brennan would make the Joss storyline make sense.
The superior Jacks brother! I’d love a short-term return!
Sebastian did not originate the role of Jerry (Julian Stone played Jerry 98-99). He did, however, take the character to a whole new level. The way he said “sweet Sam” still reverberates. One of the top 10 villains in GH history.
I think IR head would explode. LOL!!!
As it should.
Love to see him back!!! Sedwell & Jasper Jacks… yikes!!!

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
