I don’t look forward to softball questions, that’s for sure. Goutman has the cancellations of AW & ATWT on his record, even if P&G’s support went south. An EP is caught between owner/network interference and bad writers. He didn’t seem to manage the latter relationship very well.

I wish somebody would put him on the hot seat about the treatment of Eileen Fulton as Lisa on the series finale. What they did to Lisa was beyond awful on the last show?

CMD,
I know I saw the ending but I don’t remember that. Who was he referring to?

I hope he gets legitimate questions. He has a LOT to explain about what happened to ATWT under his helm. I don’t have a very high opinion of his skills as a soap producer. I’ll go to my grave thinking that he and Jean Passanante killed ATWT. The guy has guts to agree to sit for this interview.

It’s not really guts, since Alan worked with him and they probably won’t cover Goutman’s controversies.

I hope not but you are probably right. If the interview is nothing but “puff” talking about how accomplished and talented Goutman was, I’ll be gone in 5 minutes. I watched that site’s interview with Jean Passanante (someone else whose professional skills were suspect due to her ATWT head writing tenure). I was surprised that the questions were tougher than I expected. However, he still let her “get away” with a lot, gushing about some of the plots that I thought were horrible. The interviews really won’t change anything. They hacked away at ATWT for years until its butchered corpse… Read more »

He destroyed ATWT and then wouldn’t let MB come back to close out Lily/Holden story…I hate him.

He also didn’t bring back Martha Bryne as Lilly. She was the only Lilly. The recast was a good actress but no Lilly. The finale of ATWT with Lilly and Holden lacked alot without Martha Byrne in the role. Won’t be listening
