Soaphunks.net announces new changes to Adonis 2009 competition which kicks off 5/14!

logo64.jpgThe Soaphunks.net Adonis 2009 competition is set to get underway this coming Thursday May 14th, and this being the sixth year, the have shaken up the rules just a little. So die-hard voters who want to see their favorite hunks win the top categories, make sure to check out these excerpts from the SoapHunks.net Adonis 2009 rules and regulations and make sure to go to their site for deeper schedule and information.

From SoapHunks.net: “In order for a soap hunk to be fair game for the Adonis 2009 contest, he must appear on a U.S. soap during the contest period (May 14-September 2, 2009), including actors who have announced plans to start during the contest semifinal period and with no announced plans (by May 1, 2009) to vacate his role before the end of the contest. Competitors may be either on contract or steadily recurring. Due to the nature of this contest, plans such as these announced after the contest begins will have no effect.

2009 VOTING RULES

THE SEMIFINALS: Unlike in past contests, this year there is no pre-established set of 32 semifinalists. Instead, ALL qualifying actors from each daytime soap are eligible. The first four weeks of voting will focus on two soaps only each week (see schedule below). All eligible actors from a given soap will compete against their co-stars only. The top vote-getter from each of the eight daytime soaps will earn a spot in the finals.

WILD CARD WEEK: The hunk who polls in second place for each soap during each semifinal week will return for Wild Card Week. The public’s top vote-getter from this group will also earn a finalist’s spot. The final three spots will be hand-picked from the eight wild card contestants by this year’s three esteemed judges: Nelson Branco, superherofan of superherofannet.com and SoapHunks.net creator, Danny!

THE FINALS: You may vote once per day per person per IP address. Unlike last year, there is no ranking everyone, just one vote for your favorite contestant.  Each valid submission will carry the weight of 1,000 votes, just as in the past few years. Please do NOT vote multiple times from all of your different e-mail addresses, nor may you jump from computer to computer. You will have to attest to this before submitting any ballots, and any evidence of foul play will invalidate ALL of your attempted ballots. During the finals, the contestant with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated.”

‘This Is Us’ Season 6 to have Midseason Premiere and 18 Episode Order as It Concludes

The beloved Pearson family drama This Is Us will end after its sixth and final season, and news today from NBC executives Susan Rovner and Frances Berwick revealed that when the show returns for its last run, it will have a midseason, not a fall, premiere date.

Add to that, the fact that the show will wrap with an 18-episode order.  The execs shared to TV reporters and outlets including Deadline: “We know that saying goodbye to the Pearsons is going to be hard enough. So what we wanted to do is honor the fans and get them as close to an uninterrupted run as we could, which is only possible in midseason,” said Berwick.

Susan Rovner expressed: That by starting the story midseason, it will help make the send-off “a great event for the fans to enjoy.” She went on to say, “I think in Dan’s (Fogelman) hands, it’s going to be fantastic.”

In response to the announced season six conclusion, creator Dan Fogelman tweeted: “Whoever casually first said ‘All good things must come to an end’ never had to end their favorite thing. While sad to have just 1 season left, also grateful to NBC for letting us end the show how, and when, we always intended. We’ll work hard to stick the landing.”

For the past five season the cast has featured: Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown,Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson and Chris Sullivan, and there are still two more episodes of the current season, until the season finale on May 25th in a special time 10 p.m. ET/PT.

DAYS Jackée Harry Joins Freeform Comedy Pilot ‘Everything’s Trash’ in Recurring Role

Jackée Harry is one busy actress in Hollywood!  On the heels of learning that Harry has signed on more full-time on Days of our Lives in her role as Paulina, comes this bit of casting news.

Harry will join the cast of the Freeform comedy pilot, Everything’s Trash along with another notable actor, George Wallace.  Both will have recurring roles in the show should it go to series.

In story, Everything’s Trash follows Phoebe (Phoebe Robinson), a 30-something podcast star navigating her messy life. When her younger brother Jayden emerges as a leading politician, she’s forced to grow up, so she relies on her friends and close-knit family to help her figure out adulthood, since she doesn’t seem to have a clue. The series is inspired by Robinson’s book, “Everything’s Trash But It’s Okay.”

According to Variety, “Harry will star as Zora, Phoebe and Jayden’s mother. She and her husband are mid-Western transplants, but they have made a home in NY . They love and support their children equally, but truth be known, Zora acts (and dresses) younger than she is and straddles the line between “I’m my daughter’s mother” and “I’m my daughter’s best friend.”  Meanwhile, Wallace will play the role of Abraham, Phoebe and Jayden’s father and husband to Zora.

So, looking forward to hopefully seeing Jackée on a half-comedy sitcom at night, and doing her role on Days of our Lives? Comment below.
