General Hospital
Steve Burton’s GH Return Airdate Revealed With New Promo! Is He The Real Jason Morgan?
Mark your calendars for the highly-anticipated return of General Hospital fan favorite, and two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Steve Burton.
In a newly released promo from ABC, first shared by TV Line, Burton is seen riding on a motorcycle in full Jason-mode leather jacket out of the fog. Now, the question remains … are these clues that he is indeed the real Jason Morgan, since there is another Jason Morgan on the canvas played by Billy Miller? Vegas betting odds have that General Hospital is about to deliver a Tale of Two Jasons storyline, but are they?
Look for Burton’s return to GH on the Tuesday, September 19th episode of the ABC sudser.
After the jump watch the Burton returns promo, and then let us know, what you think will go down when Burton arrives back on the scene in story? Share your theories in the comment section below.
I’m supposed to care because……….
….the rut this show is in isn’t nearly as deep as it could be.
Finished it for ya! LOL
Tomas…yep…I’ll buy that…lol. Thanks.
Later, Tomas.
It’s pretty pitiful that someone at GH thinks bringing Burton back is necessary to get ratings up. What does that say about the writers’ inability to work with the great actors it has? I never cared for Burton in Jason’s role; I’m very happy with what Billy’s done in the role.
And with actors having been let go to pay his salary…GH – you should learn to write good storylines with your existing cast. Much more talented that Burton. Gee, let’s all be sure to tune in to see this guy ride a motorcycle…good grief.
I agree Max. Billy Miller is doing an amazing job in the role of Jason. I really hope that he will continue in the role and not get pushed out to make room for Burton. Additionally, I also wonder how long it will take until Steve Burton gets bored and once again decides to leave.
Oh Max, thank You! I’m up to here with the Biblical return of one-emotion Steve! I adore Billy and he is so much more natural and creative an actor than Mr. Burton could dream of. I just hope Billy isn’t sidelined for the “non-event” of the year.
Why does every soap writer keep referring to the resurrection of Steve Burton as “the highly-anticipated return of General Hospital fan favorite?” HE. IS. NOT!
If they bothered reading all the comments from the fans, they would realize that the MAJORITY of them do NOT want SB back…especially as ‘Jason.’
(Obviously there are some die-hard fans out there that do, but they’re the minority.)
This “highly-anticipated return” will be a HUGE disappointment, I guarantee!
Exactly!
Thank you for speaking for EVERYONE! You must be a Liberal.
Timmm, I’m not a liberal…more of a moderate! LOL
So right dude…Never care for Steve or Billy as actors..In fact they are the MOST overrated actors who won emmys in daytime history..Five emmys between them!!??? WTF
Better actors had been let go or not sign just so we can watch this stupid two Jason storyline..OLTL redo??? At least in OLTL you had two good actors that made the storyline worth watching.
They deserve the Emmy’. Especially Billy. Haters
I’ll have to miss the episode because I’m getting a haircut that day (hi, su0000).
hey 4ever DAYS..
I’ll miss it too!
I’ll be shaving my sweaters, getting for winter..
This is exciting!!……not because of Steve’s return, but for the storyline. Not really interested in him…but, he is the means that justify the ends, as it were.
Sadly, I will miss the episode that day….thank goodness for VCRs.
The more I think about this the more I believe Franco is twin to either Jason 1 or Jason 2, albeit Jason 2 is much younger than the other two…..How about triplets? LOL.
I may be proven wrong, but I do NOT think the two Jasons are twins. The root of this imbroglio, I think, sits squarely, and perfectly on Helena’s and Heather’s shoulders, somehow.
Let’s rock ‘n roll……
IFF I get more Heather, that would be a silver lining.
At 1st when they said he was coming back I thought he was going to be the person taking over for Sonny. Now I think he is either Jason or the other boy in Franco’s picture….. It will be nice to see Steve Burton but I hope they keep Billy Miller on the show as well 🙂
Hi, Elizabet,
Haven’t “seen” you in a bit….Yes, I agree. This is what’s so interesting—the unknown. It seems simplistic, right? That’s just it. You hit the nail on the head. Either Jason could be the boy in the picture.
I am not well-versed in the Susan/Jason/Alan Q history, but the possibilities are tangible, yet not so plausible? Only in soaps. LOL.
As long as the story follows a semblance of order, I will accept what is offered.
Rock and roll, indeed, CeeCeeGirl!!! And if we are treated to those two mortifyingly bad mamas, Helena and Heather, in the process, then all the better! I really do hope that they turn up in this much-anticipated storyline, since I’m still of the opinion that reports of Helena’s “death” are greatly exaggerated!
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, Shaybelle……..but wait….what about Carly? And, Elizabeth? Anyone else of whom I’m not aware?
Makes no difference the face change….you’d think these women ( to use your word) would be able to descern who’s who, no?!?!?! Did they sleep with so many men that they’ve all become a blur? It’s in the touch, my friend….n’est-ce pas?
Rebember when I asked, …..Will the real Jason, please stand up?…or a facsimile. Anyway, I was the ONLY one who made the connection with Franco….everyone else, especially one or two, the most, insisted that the two Jasons were twins. Look back….right there in black and white.
I contradicted this by stating a zillion and one times that there is an age discrepancy between Jason 2/Billy and both Jason 1 and Franco. The latter two are the same age….hence it is more likely that Franco and Jason 1/Steve are twins. Compounded with the fact of the imaginary friend, who turned out to be real ( the picture) makes more sense. It does not mean I’m right.
Most of you are masters at this….you are familiar with past storylines and have a keener sense of smell with past and present characters….and the mindset of the writers. I, actually, never pay attention to writers, until I become bored and find stories too unrealistic.
But, as we all know, it’s a soap where reality and age become trivial, LOL….Know what I mean?
Nonetheless…..as it it, I am making an assumption. I may be completely proven wrong.
There are a couple of ideas from our fellow-posters who are soooo very valid….”anything goes”… open to anything the great “fiction” writers have to offer. I am looking forward to this story. Sadly we have to deal with the “unfavorables” ( you know who I mean)….can’t be helped, ….they will hold a major role in this developing storyline. I will take the credit for Franco and Jason/Steve if they turn out to be twins….DOUBLE LOL….regardless of naysayers, or others taking the credit….again, LOL.
Remember toxoplasmosis, Shay? You were the only one who agreed with Jude. He diagnosed Sam’s malady instantly because he had seen many such cases in his career. Then there was Zach from Y&R. But, woe be me, Shay; no one takes me seriously….LOL and HaHa!!
Mostly….yes, amica care….If Helena or Heather become an integral part of this story? I bow to the writers…..even if their input is minimal; I will always be glad to see these, indelible from the mind, ladies.
LOL, LOL, Ha Ha, Double LOL and LOL again.
@Rhonda.
And your point, RRRRhonda?!?!?!?! Bah ha ha ha ha.
Something’s weird! Why did they not show Billy Miller in the hospital the other day, only the characters visiting and sitting with him. The camera never went to his face, only a hand. I happen to like Billy Miller as Jason now. I’d rather Steve Burton play someone else.
Often it is done to give the lead actor some time off– if the character is in a coma and his face isn’t really needed they will use a body double– seen it done lot of times on soaps for these bed side vigils —
Wasn’t Billy Miller still in contract negotiations when these scenes aired? I mean I know he has since signed a new contract but I am not sure he had at the time they were filming these episodes? Not a fan of Burton as Jason, so hopefully he plays something different… otherwise it’s a been there done that resolution to a been there done that storyline!
I agree Joel. That was odd. And I also hope that Steve Burton plays someone else.
Its just to tease the fans that Steve will be Jason and Billy isnt coming back. Miller is taking a break, him and Steve will share the screen on GH.
DOUBLE LOL….
Should read DVR—–albeit, there are still some VCRs hanging around.
I still got mine– LOL
I think many of us have at least one, Mary…LOL. My grandparents will not part with theirs.
I still kept mine and it also plays dvds but i rarely use it
That’s quite a dilrmma for Sonny, Jimmy. Which door will Sonny pick? Number 1or 2? who is behind door 1? Door 2?
Heck, Jimmy, Sonny may want both Jasons…and a little bit of Franco??
women and men alike are swooning every thing
two time emmy winner
oh wait .. that’s Billy Miller
no it’s the doublemint twins
Patrick SB won supporting in 1999 and again this year! I think Billy has three but let’s all be honest Billy has acted bored for a long time that’s why I quit watching much everybody seems to be lazy or over the top.
I don’t think he is bored at all since he just signed a new contract with the show!
Mumbling Miller!
this is going to be so cutesy cutesy
complete with Sam monotoning ( pretty much ruining every thing ) as she laments who her husband will be… who’s the better lover
HaHaHaHaHa….hey, that’s important, Patrick…who’s the better lover…..hmmmmm….
somehow it’s all jumbled up.. and that it’s three of them… as most have surmised..
it could very well be Franco is indeed a twin with either / or
and that the third , was adopted out and he returned , once finding out he had a twin and was struck by that car… hence Jake Doe
I don’t know… I truly want Billy Miller to be the Quartermainia tho… as he has the acting skill set to still be that doctor and to fill the void of the must have back … the Q familial.
daytime has always had that eye turn galore, no? hmmm indeed.
Sonny will also have to pick which Jason he loves best-lol
Hey, CeeCee, it’s a tough job, but someone has to ascertain which of the “Jasons” is the “better man!” Might as well be Sam….Lol.
Lol…difficult choice…
absolutely – I like your and Celia response… who’s business is it any way
TMI would give all our mindset up, no?
altho, I still do thank you, if you and I are the only one’ who to this day still like – Bryan Craig, ex- Morgan.
argh! altho.. until GH changes it focus… Corinthos over load. will I welcome back BC
I don’t consider SB or BM “husband material” so … I’ll leave it at that.
I must say… as I posted.. and its working… DAYS is proving to be a great distraction , from GH. so all my angst won’t be so disparaging
OK I changed my mind… all eyes on TPTB…
rally onward
Hey Patrick!
Actually, I think Bryan Craig has a big following and the Morgan character was liked by many, though we do hear the naysayers more here regarding him.. But then again this site doesn’t get as many responses, of course, like Twitter where you really get an idea of fan favorites. Bryan was good from the get-go as Morgan. I remember the passion, the emotion he expressed when he had that heartbreaking scene early on with Sonny…I think the one where he expressed how he felt second best to Michael. I could feel his angst…
As far as “will the real Jason please stand up” I guess Billy”s not the real Jason..the three musketeers, Sam, Carly and Sonny have repeatedly said he seems different…I still think, I said this from the beginning, that Franco and Jake/Jason or Franco and Jason/Jason are brothers…Franco might not even be Scott’s son, which would be sad because they’re so cute and fun to watch with each other. I also previously mentioned that Heather said a long time ago that there was a Quartermaine out there that no one knew abour…could be these guys …all three of them…are brothers. Wonder if Steve Burtonsville is planning on staying…
I too would “hate” to see the dynamic between Scotty and Franco , change
as well.
it’s like w/Carly… had she not had Bobbie… her one and only character that brings emotion and feelings… like NO OTHER. and that’s the truth. I just don’t get all the appeal about Carly. I mean really ? for the millionth billionth time… we have to see her banshee nut up with and about Michael and Jocelyn.
anyway.. watching Franco and Scotty.. dang… now theres some tenderness and jockeying about … with GOOD ACTING.
when Serena came to town.. I thoroughly enjoyed watching a new Scotty before my eyes.. as I had never watched – Scotty play a parent. why GH does NOT MINE THIS GOLD. is beyond me… I even liked it with Heather. once again.. this is the only time.. Roger Howarth… like Laura Wright GET ANY LEVERAGE for their characters.
so I agree with you.. I hope Franco doesn’t lose that connection with Scotty.
Hey Patrick…just found your September 10th response regarding Scotty. Just wanted to add…I’d like him to have a relationship instead of always being an afterthought. He’s such a quirky, cool, nutty but lovable character. Always felt bad for him regarding Laura…he really loved her.
I don’t care who he returns as (and I am glad to see him return), as long as Billy Miller stays!
AMEN!
He’s Franco’s twin and the REAL Jason Morgan
I have been saying this from the beginning, Karen. Thank goodness, I am not the only one who thinks the same thing.
Everyone was saying that the two Jasons are twins. That may very well be, but, the age fits better with Franco and Jason 1/Steve.
Who is Jason 2?? At last a level of mystery!! Better than the fare we have been fed lately.
The downside? More Sonny, more Carly, more Jason1—-front and center. I usually FF any Sonny/Carly scene…..but, what a conundrum this will be. I need to watch because the Jason mystery intrigues me…” …can’t always get what you want”, I guess. Shucks!! Damned if I do and damned if I don’t.
One is real and one is a clone so there really is two Jasons.and not any impostors-both will have the same name..Ned can introduce them as his cousin Jason and his other cousin Jason when they meet Larry, Darryl and Darryl at a quaint inn in Vermont with guest star Bob Newhart..well, the show is stupid enough to go there..lol
Good premise, Jimmy. I love it. I bet Helena is having the time of her life in Vermont ( or is it New Hampshire?), with Larry, Darryl, Darryl, Bob and the gang. LOL. She put this in motion…I see Helena written all over this switch, or whatever it is….with a little bit of Heather.
In GH version Bob and Helena are married…she is also responsible for the two Darryls…maybe Steve Burton will be wearing a Jason mask and really is Faison…who falls for Anna!!!…-lol
Both Jim and Celia…oh, stop it…ya’ll are both making me double over with laughter here…lol. Any-hoo, how about this, uh, future scenario: Both Sonny and Original Jason (played by Burton) can no longer deny their attraction to each other…so they elope, leave Port Chuck and stop off at The Newhart Inn in Vermont for a week-long honeymoon. Also, BOTH Heather and Helena each realize that they’re BOTH MARRIED to Bob aka at THE SAME TIME!!!!! And, finally, after their passion-filled honeymoon, Sonny and Original Jason permanently re-locate to, oh, say, Las Vegas. After that, BOTH Sonny and Original Jason are PERMANENTLY FORGOTTEN ABOUT!!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!
Later, ya’ll.
@CeeCee….On the series finale of “Newhart,” it ended with Bob waking up in bed with “Sitcom Wife #1” Emily Hartley (aka, the late, gorgeous, classy Suzanne Pleshette….) in which his zany Vermont-based comedy show—and #2 sweater-clad wifey, Joanna!— were revealed to be just a dream of Dr. Bob’s wild psychiatrist’s imagination!!!!! It was quite inventive, amusing and well-received….way before your time, of course, but try to catch it when you can! (Sorry to spoil the surprise plot twist in advance….).
@Shay.
Ahhhh, Shay; I get it !! I only watch the reruns….never saw the ending….not yet.
My apologies to Tomas….
Thanks, Shay.
You’re welcome, CeeCeeGirl! Again, sorry I ruined the “Newhart” secret finale ending for you…I figured you hadn’t seen it yet, because I knew you wouldn’t have mistook one Bob sitcom for the other if you were privy to the last episode….Usually that hackneyed “dream” thing is lame, but it really worked on this occasion! Hope you enjoy it just the same when you actually view it!
Ahhh…that would be “have mistaken!” My bad….but that’s what I get for texting someone else and replying to you at the same time, CeeCee! Multi-tasking is not always such a great idea!
If someone wakes up with Suzanne Pleschette in their bed, then it might be worth it.
Too funny!!!! That’s a different show, Tomas. The sitcom to which Jimh is referring was the “inn-keeper” one, I believe….also, starring Mary Frann and Julia Duffy?
This was before my time, but I do know that Ms Frann played Amanda Howard on Days.
L-O-L
lol
No Celia, you’ve got that all wrong. There was The Bob Newhart Show and then there was the Newhart show. The former starred Suzanne Pleshette as Bob’s wife with the latter starring Mary Frann as Bob’s wife.
It was the end of the Newhart show in which Bob suddenly wakes up only to discover his first TV wife, Pleshettete. So Tomas was not only funny with his comment, he was also right.
It’s before my time too but thanks to TV Land I am well versed on old sitcoms.
Honestly, Steve Burton is the last person I want
Back on GH. Miller is doing a great job. They let go
Of Budding to afford him knowing he won’t even stick
Around. They couldn’t affhrd Tyler as Nik, who I’m
Excited to start watching on Days soon. GH has gone
Down the tubes.
DAYS is outshining GH by miles lately!
Hi, Katiek,
You may get your wish, albeit not in the form of Tyler.
But, could the masked man, in Russia, be Nikolas Kassadine? What was the reason for breaking Valentin’s framework?
I noticed the name Nikolas with a very Russian surname—is it Nikolas or a relative/ancestor? Too much of a coincidence.
Do the two drops of blood from Valentin’s finger mean anything? An omen??
I must add that if the masked man is, indeed, Nikolas Cassadine, he, definitely, is not Tyler. This guy looks tall, with long legs….not stocky. So, it would be another actor portraying Nik. A sleek, tall one.
The same applies for Burton….too short and stocky.
Could it possibly be Morgan?….as in, Bryan Craig? But, he wasn’t shot.
Is Burton a “fan favorite?” Really? Whoever wrote the copy above evidently has not been reading the posts on Burton’s return.
James…as always, VERY, VERY WELL SAID, BROTHER!!!!!
Later, Gator.
It gives me goosebumps! No matter what they do I’ll be watching!
Great, just, great. NOT. I was watching an episode last night, (haven’t watched in weeks) and I caught Sam crying (again), Kristina talking to Parker about how strong Sam is (yeah, okay, all Sam does is mumble in a monotone and cry in every scene), and Carly, the greatest mother in the world, update Michael on the “business” world, blah, blah, blah. As much as I like Steve Burton, I would really like to see Jason QUARTERMAINE remember his QUARTERMAINE roots, and come to terms with his life as a mobster and have some remorse. I have absolutely NO interest in seeing the Carson/Jasam mob-centric show from Guza’s era.
Hmm…possibly he is the real Jason or Susan Moore gave birth to twins or Heather gave birth to twins.
All I know is ,when Robin was at the Cassadine labs she was treating “Jason” unseen.
One would assume that “Jason” looked like Steve Burton.
I think, you are on the same train of thought as I, Lisa…….I may be wrong, of course, but I do believe Heather is the one who gave birth to Franco and Jason/Steve. I think they are twins.
And, Jason/Billy is a Q, borne of Susan. I did not watch then, but I read the history inside out and “everywhichway”.
That is the crux of the mystery. What happened?
I think he’s the other boy in Franco’s picture.
With all the crappy stories on GH right now, I cannot see how “Fans” can openly criticize Steve Burton’s return? I cannot wait. Its SOMETHING to look forward to on this show besides the horrible Man Landers, Nelle’s mysterious background or Morgan’s YEAR round mourning story, of which by the way, of one of the worst characters ever! [Not discounting Levi, though!]
I agree and people the only reason SB left GH was mama bear JFP offered him the moon and the stars she started the roller coaster ride. But if you indeed make him the real Jason oh so much back story viiewers have to ignore. A lot better story a twin no one knew about and it drives everybody nuts because he looks like the Jason they all loved. However I have very little faith that’s what they will do.
Also FV said nine month story arc if that means anything so is Burton there for long or is Billy Miller just signed a shorter contract?
not – one – person and/or post has openly praised his work @Y&R. few and far between is putting it mildly. his old blue eyes strike again.
the mere fact that mob activity with the dullard.. and he’s now a part of. is what is gnawing at
this twin story.. is all escalated at catapulting.. the dullard Corinthos’ clan.
Sonny and Carly ; Jason and Sam ; Michael and Nelle ; Franco and Finn ; and now Steve Burton
welcome back that much more dullard
currently
Sonny was so laughable in the shootout with his cane
Billy Miller Jason is shot … again
Sam is wallowing and or attempting to act
Carly is once again banshee about Michael.. who is the worst actor on the show
RUN Jocelyn.. with Bobbie
about the only thing… that is stirring
I really got and liked.. the familial bonding moment between Lulu and Valerie.. wanting her back in the fold.. which is great.. they’re setting this all up for the Valerie and Parker and Kristina story.. which is the best thing going on. YES IT IS
so you add in the snore and been their done that.. and you know this show is done in.. by the likes of;
Maurice Benard and Laura Wright
c’est la vie
Oh, Patrick….don’t you know that Sam makes the best weeper and crazy-o in all soapland?
You said it, T. Man Landers must be the most imbecilic, air-headed story E.V.E.R!!!!! And the title itself? Well, that alone deserves a kick in the head; only to jar some inspiration in the writers’ collective minds.
As I said, Steve’s “Second Coming” is neither here nor there for me. I don’t mind his return because the “baggage” his character brings cannot be ignored….sounds climactic, in my opinion.
And, if we are afforded a look-see at Heather, I’m all for it.
Also, when Franco was questioning Scotty about the boy in the picture, Scotty seemed evasive to me…..giving all kinds of sheepish excuses. Does Scotty know more than we thought? My imagination?
I’m stoked for Steve Burton’s return. I like the current Jason, but nothing say’s he can’t be someone else. I’m still an advocate for bringing in a few other characters ( now and then) from AMC and OLTL. It would be fun…and GH really needs some fun stories.
Please stay safe everyone with this truly crazy weather around the US.
Hope that this is not a DUD
I don’t want Steve back.
He is a deserter and he lied to us/me..
He quit to spend time with family and all that bull
then he zoooms to Y&R and is not spending needed time with family.
I do not like the man, I do like that he’s riding back into GH and f`ing over Billy or not, either way he is no hero.
The gall of the man comes to mind ..
He gave up his title of Jason for Dylan..
And, I do not believe his return will live up to the hype it is creating.
You’d think God was arriving.
Anyways, I don’t like it and I’m not excited over his returning.
and–
the riding of the motorcycle is most likely Billy/Jason reliving his 1st coma, who he was.. His lost life is returning to him in his coma..
Hey su0000…VERY, VERY EXCELLENT POINTS!!!!! Thank You.
Later.
They are both really great actors and Billy Miller also left Y&R to another show. I am not sure what the difference is. I don’t think its anything personal. I am sorry you feel deserted. I enjoy the soaps also, but I don think any actor, or anyone in any line of work should need to get approval or give reasons why they whatever they choose to do. It is great entertainment, and people are really seriously angered. My mother just got to the point where she stopped watching. That’s always an option. I think Steve Burton is great, no matter what role, but I will look forward to seeing him back on GH.
Take care
I like that, su.
I agree su0000. I’m not happy about Steve Burton’s return. And the way he left, telling everyone he wanted to spend time with his family, at least until JFP called. Then suddenly he had all the time in the world to do that. And now that Billy Miller has been established and praised in the role of Jason, then suddenly Steve Burton wants to come back and create a commotion and a lot of uncertainty. Yeah, I’m not amused nor delighted by the return of the great Steve Burton one little bit.
You summed it all up in one neat package, Donna. Yes, Billy did leave Y&R, as well….but, his reason was pragmatic…not so Steve’s, who used an excuse.
I’d take one Tyler Christopher over 100 Steve Burton’s. GH can’t help making one blunder after another.
I like the who is playing Jason Now!! Don’t want any switcheroo’s ! Who’s the real Jason who’s not. I like the actor who’s playing him now. … need I say anymore!
I agree! Billy Miller is doing a fabulous job as Jason! 🙂
Here are the cliches I am praying the writers will avoid: 1) Having the Steve Burton character return to town and lurk around for weeks without making contact with anyone else. 2) Having the Billy Miller and Steve Burton characters become instant adversaries. It would be so much better if they had an affinity for one another and would be much less hackneyed. So – who’s who? Miller and Burton are twins, born to Heather Webber’s cousin Susan Moore. Monica got Jason from Susan to raise and nobody ever knew about the twin. Franco figures in because the photo shows him and his relation Jason (their moms are cousins) as little boys. Steve Burton will be the long lost twin who nobody knew about and Miller will be Jason with his original twin face having been surgically reconstructed.
Sounds good, Mister Media.
I can’t wait for Steve’s return. He better be playing Jason. Billy Miller is fine but I never connected with him playing Jason. The ratings are in the toilet. Hopefully this may bring them up. He played the character for 21 years so it would be crazy for him to play someone else. The 19th can’t come soon enough for me.
I’ve been watching General Hospital way too long I saw this coming way back when they announce Steve is coming back .hopefully it would Liven General Hospital up . After watching for 55 years plus it’s about time this soap opera liven up . I’m at the point to stop watching so boring I’ll stick to Novels
He is going to be Amy’s brother. Nothing to do with Billy ‘s Jason or Franco…or maybe Franco’s childhood friend. Watch the twins be Roger playing both parts. HE is a twin.
Maybe, Angelfinder…good point.
But, if the other boy in the picture is Franco’s twin….they look nothing alike. How would Roger play both parts?
I think Steve Burton will be playing Jason Quartermaine and Billy Miller, Jason Morgan.
I see the range in his acting style from when he played Jason before to Dylan on Y&R to MaybeJASON now! Steve Burton brings something old, I mean, new to each character. Can’t wait til they start cat fighting over who Sonny loves more, Carly needs the most, Michael desires advice from first, who discovers Morgan alive and, oh yeah, who whiny Sam chooses to sleep with first… then second… then third and then fourth.
Oh the drama we haven’t seen in a couple of days!
I think Sam has the biggest dilemma, Paul. But, your spin hit my funny bone…..indeed, with whom will Sam choose to sleep? After a string of men, as I said earlier, I’d think she’s become numb as to who is whom.
This will be like watching a scene from ” Abbott and Costello”, or “The Three Stooges”…. I am loving it !!
Okay…so this is what I think they “should” do. That Burton dude returns to Port Charles and thinks he is Dylan McAvoy from Genoa City. He spends months – approximately 3 – trying to convince everyone that his name is Dylan. Every one keeps telling him he is Jason. He walks around calling Valentine by the name of Victor Newman. He calls Sam, Lily Ashby and he keeps calling Monica by the name of Nikki Newman and calling her Mom. He wonders where his brother Nick is and how come Victoria keeps calling herself Elizabeth Webber. In a freak accident caused by Liesel Obrecht he falls on a mattress and suddenly realizes that he is Nikolas Cassadine and starts going after Ava because he’s been missing her and he is super horny after all that time away from her. Ava is now in love with Griffin and tells Dylan/Jason/A.J., whomever the heck he is, to go jump off a bridge. The same one Sam was pushed off of. The real Jason – BILLY MILLER – wakes up from his coma and tells him, “look dude this isn’t Genoa City and you’re not Dylan or Nikolas. You’re a bad actor named Steve Burton and you need to go back to Nashville and raise your family and run your restaurant like you said you were going to do when you left Y&R. I am Jason now so get a clue and go back to singing poorly on cover songs on YouTube and get me a BLT from one of your “famous restaurants”. Steve Burton realizes that it’s true — you can’t go home again — and he leaves but this time he takes Sonny with him and tells Carly to get a life because he is sick of hearing her whine about her rough life. Suddenly he leaves the city on the same bike he rode in on and as he leaves Hayden comes back after she almost gets hit by Steve’s bike. She looks toward the camera and smiles and then flips him the bird and says, “thank god you’re gone. now i can get back to the job you cost me because of your overrated status…” Scene fades..audience screams loudly with applause and we realize that his role only lasted six weeks instead of the six months he is allegedly sticking around for. The end.
Hey Mateo…your scenario is BEYOND PERFECT!!!!! Thank You.
Have a good one, Mateo.
Bah ha ha ha ha!! Too funny, Mateo.
What are the Vegas odds that this drags on for a year (like the Morgan storyline) and they make it all about Sonny (like the Morgan storyline) and that Sonny and Carly have nine or more scenes a week about how they can’t figure which one is Jason (like the Morgan storyline)?
I pray they push through this contrivance in two weeks tops and move on. I also pray that Santa leaves me million cash. God doesn’t listen to my prayers. So maybe it’s time for a five dollar bet.
Welcome back Steve, we missed you. Are you coming back to GH to continue Helena’s madness? I think the story line is similar to the movie Face/Off. Helena switch “faces” with the real Jason and the other is the boy in the picture with Franco when he was a boy. I believe Steve’s character iwill be “evil” or destructive to the folks in Port Charles besides confusing everyone with that face. Hmm, now does not sound like a great story line?
I like that, as well, Nik. As I said, Helena has her hand in the cookie jar…..
……still controls her marionettes, posthumously? Or is she alive?
I don’t get all the complaining… Pleeeeeze….Steve Burton is back already.. PERIOD, Watch Don’t Watch
( We know you will watch lol
Well said Taelyn. ..”not that serious”.
I like Steve Burton and Billy Miller and I love this storyline and think it wll be fun and there is so much opportunity for it to go in so many different directions. It also can touch almost every character in great ways! It can also round out the Quartermaine situation if they take that opportunity. Welcome back Steve! We are lucky to have such a truly talented cast! Now bring back Spinelli please, and more Maxie!
Well put, Heidi! I don’t get all the negativity, especially in advance of seeing the story they decide to tell. Chalk it up to the passion we all have for our show, and wanting to see it do better. Bringing back Burton is a gift to the writers with what should be a payoff to the viewers. Now let’s see what they do with it! I’ll be watching…six months from now, when I get through the 101 episodes still on my DVR. Don’t tell me what happens!
Thanks Reed!
I agree completely on all accounts! You need to catch up… so much going on!
Thanks!
We will see but I dont think the ratings and/or story will rise. Not enough care.
where is Billy going? I like him better than
burton.
I do too. I hope that Billy Miller stays on as Jason.
This smells like the tale of two Todds, we’ll see what this gives
I think they’re setting us up with a lot of red herrings. My guess,at this point, is that Billy Miller will remain Jason with plastic surgery, Steve Burton will be a long-lost brother to Jason and he grew up (for a while) with Franco; thus the never-mentioned early childhood best friend.
I am so happy to see the REAL STONE COLD back. Yay, Jason is back!
Sam will have two loves and two different fathers for her two children. Who will she choose?
Sam already has two children by two different fathers (Sonny AND Fake Jason)!
Love Billy Miller, but am so over the Sam and Jason show. Especially Sam. The character is so dark and brooding, and enough already with all the black clothing! It got old a long time ago.
Oh joy. will he still be stone cold dead,I don’t care. I don’t care for Billy Miller much any more either. This show has toooo much Sonny, and if Burtons back it will be more Sonny. If that’s possible ? I did watch a little. Did Jason steal the gun Sam shot Sonny with ? Remember when Either Liz or Sam stole one there also .For either Jason or Sonny. Not that it makes any difference. The keystone cops ride again. Nothing changes. Whatever happens won’t matter the powers that be don’t give a rats pattootey what you like or hate.
Remember when they had to lose the characters of Todd, Star and John and they suddenly became Franco, Silas and Kiki. Well what if they pull the same thing. You see Steve Burton wake up from the coma as Jason and Billy Miller the twin they search for. Billy has so much range that’s been unused in the stiff character of Jason Morgan. When he was at Y&R he won 3 Emmys because he was able to use his talents to the fullest. Maybe him being the missing twin Jason Quartermaine will finally allow some writing in his favor and he’ll be able to let lose and kill it! That’s one scenario, the other is…lately Carly and Sonny have been saying how Jason is not like his old self…they’ve said that often lately. So Miller still winds up being not Jason Morgan but the lost twin that was brainwashed by Helena. Or we can completely have a Dallas scenario (for those who know what that means) it was all be a dream…we get back Todd, John and Star. Steve Burton is stiff Jason Morgan and Billy Miller can just be the great actor he is in whatever role and win his 4th emmy. The real dream would be getting new writers that can start utilizing the heavily emmy winning actors at GH to their fullest…Howarth, Stafford, Miller, etc.
“…Billy Miller can just be the great actor he is in whatever role and win his 4th emmy. ”
WHICH is – all – I’ve ever wanted. Billy Miller – OUT – of the Corinthos orbit. so he can be challenged and then… let the feast begin.
since Franco character is so reviled… let him be the twin with Steve Burton.
let it be Billy Miller ( nuJake ) who was returning to find his – 2 brothers – before he got hit.. and that before all this.. he was a doctor.
Sounds good to me Patrick!
I agree Patrick, pull Miller out of the Bernard orbit. They have no chemistry!
yessiree, Patrick….
Not only out of the Corinthoses’ orbit , but, also, Sam’s orbit, hemispere, planet and space…
I must admit that I am very disappointed with Billy’s Jason. It seems he is having an out-of-body experience. Character and actor do not fit. I am probably outnumbered, but MY Billy Miller lost his fun. Did he always speak with clenched teeth? Raspy voice?
But, Sam is a downer; a purgative and ‘inhibitor’ at the same time, LOL. What did I expect?!
I hope Billy’s Jason turns out not to be the “real” Jason. His persona will shift drastically for the better; without Sam.
You make a great point, Miller has charm and warmth and should not be “Stone Cold.” Let him be with Liz and kill off Freako!
Yes, T….I like that. You have a point. Billy was so different when he was Jake….and with Elizabeth. I never saw that playfulness nor the spontaneity with Sam.
No. Jake Doe was a jerk toward Elizabeth for months and months when his behind kept saying he did not want to know his previous life.
Here’s my new theory…Dr. Bronsky, the plastic surgeon Ava’s going to see in Russia will either be Steve Burton as the missing twin or Billy Miller as the missing twin if they pull a swap and rewrite history. And the TV commercials show Burton on a motorcycle which is a huge hint in my book that the switch will happen and he will wake up as Jason Morgan.
Nicely, ԝhat does Good like?? Lee added. ?I imply, we ⅼike cookies and
сartoons andd toys, however what kind of things aarе enjoyable for God??
Іt was a query that for a minute Mommy and Daddy haԀ to suppose about.
Huh?!?!?!?
I think Burton will be tied to Franco as the other boy in the picture . I hope he doesn’t resume his former roll of Jason. Billy has really taken this roll and made it so much better.
Maurice loves Steve, let them reunite and live happily ever after. I like Sonny. I have grown to dislike Sonny and Carly. She is hypocritical and shows no backbone. Sonny told her to leave, he CANNOT leave the mob and Carly flip flops from demanding he change his ways to being okay with him staying in the mob even though she cries over the loss of Morgan, still. Which is it Carly? People bash Alexis over still having feelings for Julian still but Carly is no different.
I have NEVER liked Miller as Jason. Make him Freako’s twin and be done with it! Him and Jake Doe can fight for Liz. Liz and Jake Doe were good together. Miller was fabulous on Y&R. I know he has the ability to be funny and warm. He is NOT Stone Cold! Wrong role. There is room for both actors, just get Miller away from Bernard.
Ahhh, Timmmy……from the onset I stressed the fact that once in the mob, always in the mob. The first time I heard Carly and other cast members pound Sonny about “divesting” himself from the organization was three years ago….a couple of months after I started watching. And, umpteenth times after that. I commented it is not that simple —easier said than done. In real life, anyway.
Now, we hear it again.
If TPTB want to keep it real, Sonny cannot just quit the mob, unless he changes his name and moves to Mars.
Besides, T, what would Sonny do? Unlike yourself, I find this character very boring and uninteresting. I don’t think I’m alone feeling his negative bibe….with or without Carly. He is nothing if not Sonny Corinthos, the mobster. No charisma.
I am still befuddled how these two love each other???? It’s a sick and twisted relationship.
But, we certainly agree about Billy. He has completely lost that boyish charm as Jason.
Jason Thompson tried emulating Billy’s Billy Abbott, but failed miserably. Now, we are supposed to accept a grown-up, level-headed Billy Abbott. Nah!!!! Happened too fast–too soon.
Jason T has ruined Billy Abbott; as much as Gina ruined Phyllis. Sigh…!!
A protracted “two Jasons” storyline holds ZERO appeal for me.
Prayers to 9/11 victims. RIP.
Amen, Celia…
Absolutely, CeeCee….and also sending good thoughts to all those affected by the hurricanes…hope none of the MFSoaps crowd is amongst them!
I have family in Boca ( St. Andrew’s—-also my parents have property there), who had to evacuate. They are here at my Grandparents’ house. ….while some went to Greenwich, Ct, with other family members.
Sadly my great aunt had to leave her husband behind, in hospital, for minor heart surgery. He’s ok, thank goodness.
I wish that Burton would have stayed on Y & R. he was a great character there. Loved him with Sharon. So sick of, yet another, Jason resurrection. Let it go and move on writers !!! What the writers need to do is concentrate on these wonderful NEW storylines: Kristina and Parker, more than once a week, Carly the Mob Queen, and Ava’s face being restored. Hopefully, followed by a romance between her and Griffin !! Please, please, move on from Jason !! We have !!!!
Here’s my new theory…Dr. Bronsky, the plastic surgeon Ava’s going to see in Russia will either be Steve Burton as the missing twin or Billy Miller as the missing twin if they pull a swap and rewrite history.
Also another hint…the TV ads they’re running show Burton on a motorcycle which implies to me that they are going to pull a switch and he wakes up as Jason Morgan. Burton is a one truck pony, no range like Miller, that’s why they’ll have him play Jason Morgan, that’s all he can do. If you noticed when he was on Y&R he started with the light colored clothing and good guy character. He couldn’t do it and it was boring which is why they then started to put him in dark clothing and making him angrier so he might have well been Jason Morgan moved to Genoa City.
I think he’s the “imaginary friend” in Franco’s paintings & pics
I am so sick of the Mob storylines !!! I am so sick of Jason, whoever he is, and Nell and Michael . Too bad Courtney Hope is exploding on B & B. I would love to see her with Michael! Thankful for the FF button !!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
