Thad Luckinbill Back Taping At The Young and the Restless
Well, well, well! Look who is back on set at The Young and the Restless! Thad Luckinbill, who is presumed dead as J.T. Hellstrom, was seen walking around the sound stages at CBS Television City on Wednesday.
That is because Thad is taping again at the number-one soap opera! In a tweet put out by the series Twitter account with a photo of Thad (see below), they reveal: “Spotted On Set! J.T. Taking a coffee break. Stay tuned!”
So now the mystery begins! Will J.T. be alive after all, which would exonerate Nikki, and her gal pals in crime, Phyllis, Sharon and Amelia from a murder rap?
Could Thad just be back to appear as a ghost? Will he come back alive and continue his abusive ways towards Victoria?
When Luckinbill returned to the show in late 2017, fans were in for a shock when once nice guy, J.T. was turned into a spousal abuser.

We’re in sync….We must have some kind of mental telepathy—–I had a thought that JT and Adam are one and the same? Two JTs. What a compelling storyline this would be, Fanny!! One of them could be the metamorphosed Adam, the devilish imposter, or a very sick JT?
As we now know, JT is alive…..but, is it JT? I would be nonplussed if the JT look-alike were Adam?? Sleeping with Victoria? One never knows with these writers—-remember when we all thought Kyle and Summer were siblings?

There is something very sinister about Tessa’s seeming beatific quietude. Eerie and creepy!! Poor Mariah…
Agreed, and loved the laugh about “trusting yourself.” I don’t think Tessa intentionally saved JT; I think she undug him just to blackmail the others. And, you’re right– the whole thing with her sister and Zach– too convenient. Maybe Zach wasn’t really killed by Tessa’s sister! He’s alive and behind the whole thing… a cool twist to a bothersome story. From the get-go, Tessa ingratiated herself into the Newman fold… one after another, Nikki, Noah, Sharon, Nick and Mariah… too coincidental. Maybe I’m reading too many Agatha Christies.

From the time they dumped him in the hole and shoveled dirt atop him, he had to be face dirt covered for at least 15 minutes before they left the park..’Anybody buried alive (in dirt) would cause suffocation within 3 minutes tops.
and– if Adam were to dig him up that would be another no air/suffocation 15 minutes..

What I found incredulous was her audacity in twisting her self-serving, in order to make what she did sound plausible.
Summer seemed to be genuinely concerned about her grandmother. Phyllis response was so incongruous and specious, my fingers itched to smack her upside the head!! LOL……she told her daughter that no jury wound find Nikki guilty. What mother would not protect her child?, said she…..
Duh?!?!…so why did she convince the women not to call the police? It was no brainer that Nikki would not have to face any punishment….
I truly believe these writers think we have a very short memory or that we are really dumb!!
The previous head writer ruined his character. I hope he comes back and redeems himself. He used to be a hero type for goodness sake. Also Paul needs to remember JT was like a son to him, when they both were last on Y&R, Paul and Christine pretty much threw him under the bus when he couldn’t get anything on Victor. I thought that was a cruel way for them to treat him. Also where are JTs parents? I always thought he was from Genoa City and his his parents lived there, but were never sen.
If I remember right, he only made mention of his parents, as did Catherine Chanceller, of whom she was acquaintances with, moved in the same circle, etc. Yes, Paul was not only his employer, but mentor and friend. You are right, Mal Young ruined his character, but I also have to blame T.L/J.T, for going along with the farce and agreeing to play J.T that way. He’d have to be really hurting for money, or seeing something good coming from J.T gone bad. Hopefully , when he returns, we will get some answers.
You would blame an actor for taking a job? He doesn’t have to be “hurting for money” to look forward to a challenge. Many actors like to play different types of roles, especially one that challenges them. He may have just been intrigued and signed on to see how it would play out.
Well, I hope he enjoyed the results more than a lot of us did. You are right, I guess. He isn’t the first actor to come back the second time, as a bad character, i.e, GH and Days.
I was always unhappy about the JT turn (as it did not seem genuine with character) and his demise. Honestly, I am ready for this road-to-nowhere plot line to end. I like a good JT in contract to the machinations of his in-laws, but Y&R needs someone with a darker side (if there be no Adam) and JT could fit that bill. I do enjoy Mr. Luckinbill’s presence on the show.
Is the epic fail of an investigation into this crime by the GCPD the reason we have Paul Williams in town again?
I hope Mr. Griffith has a long-term plan for Genoa City denizens, and I anticipate something special to honor Kristoff St. John come spring. It hurts me to think there will be no more Neil Winters if there is not a recast. I think the character is so important.
Agreed, Iakovos. JT’s transformation was iffy, fishy, and without merit. Why? ……at first I thought the writers were bringing spousal abuse to the fore…..
I certainly would have welcomed a strong storyline on “Battered Wife Syndrome”….. so prevalent in our society…..(not to make this one-sided; men are also abused–they simply are too emarrassed to report it).
I think the story would have been so much more compelling than this……are the PTB trying to save face by bringing JT back?

As I said earlier (and months ago) someone unburied him– I think it was Tessa.
JT has always been the champion of women, the knight in shinning armor. This was well before the “Me Too” movement. Remember, it was JT who saved Colleen from the fire which Kevin had set in order to kill her.
I never bought JT as an abuser of women and killing him off also killed off the hope of an explanation for this character shift. JT had also been hit by lightening which could have dulled his pulse making those four idiotic women (with Phyllis being Queen Idiot) think he had died.
Please let him come back to life and put this horrid, implausible, utterly STUPID murder story line to rest. More importantly, please serve up a plausible explanation which doesn’t insult viewers which might explain the hows and the whys of what made JT’s character shift so abruptly.
At this point, who really cares?!?!? This entire story-line has been beyond ‘stupid’ since it’s inception LAST YEAR!!!
Just end this Mal Young-created mess and let’s start seeing Josh’s material!!!

I guess doesn’t matter. Chance to see JT come back even for one scene is better than none.
JT survived the shallow burial because his body went into shock, his breathing became extremely faint and shallow as did his heart rate along with his other organ functions. The dirt was loose enough it allowed in enough oxygen to keep him alive. When the workers came to install Jill’s art piece, he began to regain consciousness, waited until they dug awhile, and when they became distracted for a moment he was able to crawl out of his grave undetected and continue to wreak havoc on the Newmans. I have no idea if this is the plot line but I’m anxious to see how this all plays out because I have a bet with my husband.
I won’t disagree with you, Linda……it’s a soap. But, even having been buried in a shallow grave, sounds almost impossible to have dug himself out. He was, also, on myocardial medication, I believe?
My husband is a cardiologist, so after reading your post, I asked him. He sort of agrees with you…..except the part that he crawled out when no one was looking? His energy level would not have been up to par after being clonked on the head and buried alive.

That is another great guess, Harry. I had proposed Adam, among a few others, that it could be Adam “living” within the walls.
The real J.T. will come back with Paul who, being the hero he’s always been has cracked the case. He’s been on it the whole time! Doug and Melody are the longest running characters played by the original actors & never replaced!! KUDOS and respect! The fake J.T. was that Zach who uses women. We’ll get rid of the characters & storyline bringing Tad/J.T. back. He’s producing a lot these days so maybe hire him in that team too?
Yes, Linda, I think we do have to exercise our suspension of disbelief in order to enjoy this implausible story line. That’s what soap watching is all about–right? I want JT to be alive because it will put this idiotic murder story line to bed. Also, it’s been pointed out by some fans that JT has a heart condition caused by his being hit by lightening. It could be his pulse was so faint, that Larry, Curly, Mo and Phyllis could not feel it.
The “weaving in” of Tessa digging him out works for me but bringing Zach back seems like a stretch, unless somebody has seen the actor that played him wandering the set. But then again, it’s a soap opera so anything’s possible. I was really excited that your husband, the cardiologist, thought my idea might work. I’ll let you know if I get a “large lunch at a drive-up window” (which is the bet price) or not.

I was an only child but I had three male cousins with whom I was very close. Their mother had a heart condition stemming from a serious bout of Rheumatic Fever as a child. She was one of the first Mayo patients that got a pacemaker in the 50’s – at least that’s family legend. At any rate, all these boys grew up and became doctors and it seems like it’s a big topic at family get togethers. Plus I’m a hypochondriac so I’m always researching diseases and biological peculiarities. And thanks for calling me clever. I have been waiting for so long for someone to acknowledge my strangeness as something other than what it is! (LOL)

Ron and I believe Tessa knows more than what she purports to know. I think she’s in deep with JT’s disappearance. She knows exactly where he is and I don’t trust Kerry either. ….I don’t know how but, she’s is not on the up-‘n-up—-she is not truthful with Jack, for one….but, I detect something else….can’t put my finger on it. Well, not yet, LOL.

2026 Daytime Emmy Awards: ‘Extra’ Partners with NATAS for Pre-Ceremony Red Carpet Stream; Week of Segments Leading to Ceremony and Post-Coverage
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced on Thursday that the syndicated entertainment news series, Extra will be its partner for exclusive coverage of the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards being held on Friday, October 30 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
The 2026 Daytime Emmys as previously reported can be seen streamed via the The Emmys,YouTube channel, via watch.theemmys.tv, as well as on the official Emmys app, available for phones, tablets, and smart TVs.
Here’s a breakdown of the pre, during and post Daytime Emmys coverage via Extra below!
Beginning Monday, October 26, Extra will feature five nights of dedicated Daytime Emmys segments leading up to the ceremony, giving fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the award show.
In addition, Mona Kosar Abdi, Weekend Host & Senior Correspondent with Extra will host the pre-show red carpet stream on the @TheEmmys Youtube channel.
Extra host and Dancing with the Stars judge, Derek Hough will present during the ceremony, and correspondent Terri Seymour will also host coverage throughout the evening.
Extra’s weekend edition (A WEEK FOLLOWING the ceremony) will features notable red carpet moments, winner reactions, and exclusive footage from the night’s festivities.
The entertainment news program is also nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards going into the ceremony.

Scheduled to present from the current soaps are: Katelyn MacMullen (Willow, General Hospital), Delon de Metz (Zende, The Bold and the Beautiful), James Preston (Nick, The Bay), Paul Telfer (Xander, Days of our Lives), Tamara Tunie (Anita, Beyond the Gates) and Susan Walters (Diane, The Young and the Restless).

As previously announced, Lifetime Achievement honoree Genie Francis (Laura, General Hospital) will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by her husband, Jonathan Frakes.

Congratulations are in order for three-time Emmy winner, Tom Pelphrey (ex-GL and ATWT) and his fiancée Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco! The couple welcomed their second baby daughter together on October 12, and revealed they named the little bundle of joy, Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey.
Tom and Kaley shared the news via their Instagram accounts on Wednesday with some adorable baby pics. Cuoco captioned the photo“🎀Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey🎀. 💖10/12/26💖. There are no words to describe this feeling once again. What a blessing.
Cuoco added, “We are so grateful for the crazy wild up and down journey that brought us to our little Philo! Family officially complete 😭Time to bring Matilda’s baby home! 😂💕”

Next, Kaley shared her love for the father of her children, exclaiming, “Tom Pelphrey, life exploded the minute we met, and the gifts keep coming. I love you forever , girl daddy! 💘.”
Philomena now joins big sister, Matilda mwho was born in 2023, as part of the Pelphrey/Cuoco family! Tom and Kaley began dating in 2022 and became engaged in 2024.
Daytime fans first saw the talented actor on Guiding Light as Jonathan Randall, the son of Reva Shayne (Kim Zimmer). Tom won two Daytime Emmys for his memorable performances during his run from 2004-2009.
He later played Mick Dante on As the World Turns from 2009-2010, before heading to work in primetime and motion pictures. Last month, Pelphrey one the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in HBO’s Task.

After winning his Emmy, the expectant dad told E! News, “We’re both so excited. Our daughter’s excited. We’ll see how it goes when it actually gets there.” Tom added, “The things that are new and the things that feel like not a big deal this time. But mom and baby are healthy, so God willing, that keeps up, and we’re thrilled,” added the actor.
Pelphrey took to his own Instagram and said on the birth of his second daughter, “Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey. Another miracle. Welcome to our family youngest queen! Kaley you showed up in every way as a partner and a mom even when you weren’t feeling your best- you’re a CHAMPION. The girls and I would be lost without you. Thank God for the gift of this family and these girls.”
