Thad Luckinbill Back Taping At The Young and the Restless
Well, well, well! Look who is back on set at The Young and the Restless! Thad Luckinbill, who is presumed dead as J.T. Hellstrom, was seen walking around the sound stages at CBS Television City on Wednesday.
That is because Thad is taping again at the number-one soap opera! In a tweet put out by the series Twitter account with a photo of Thad (see below), they reveal: “Spotted On Set! J.T. Taking a coffee break. Stay tuned!”
So now the mystery begins! Will J.T. be alive after all, which would exonerate Nikki, and her gal pals in crime, Phyllis, Sharon and Amelia from a murder rap?
Could Thad just be back to appear as a ghost? Will he come back alive and continue his abusive ways towards Victoria?
When Luckinbill returned to the show in late 2017, fans were in for a shock when once nice guy, J.T. was turned into a spousal abuser.

So, what do you think of J.T. coming back to Genoa City … or is he? How will this story play out now that it is in the hands of head writer, Josh Griffith? Comment below,
It’s about time!!! Thad is GREAT on the show, JT should be their tormentor from “HELL” and finally make a misstep so he can pay for his crimes.
Agreed, Fanny……I always knew, as many others stipulated, JT was not dead.
I, also, said there was an imposter in their midst, impersonating him…..albeit, that idea won’t hold up? LOL. What else could the writing team ‘design’ for him? Temporary insanity? Blame his meds?❤️
CeeCee Sweets….how else would they be able to keep him on the show long term??? métamorphosize him into the new ADAM ‼️Now that would be a head spinner, like you mentioned blame it on the meds.. wink, wink, gets out of jail free card..Then he can explain his true identity to Victor… two birds one stone. Just a fun thought. Bisous, Bisous, ma chérie à bientôt.
Hi, milady,
We’re in sync….We must have some kind of mental telepathy—–I had a thought that JT and Adam are one and the same? Two JTs. What a compelling storyline this would be, Fanny!! One of them could be the metamorphosed Adam, the devilish imposter, or a very sick JT?
As we now know, JT is alive…..but, is it JT? I would be nonplussed if the JT look-alike were Adam?? Sleeping with Victoria? One never knows with these writers—-remember when we all thought Kyle and Summer were siblings?
Bisous a’ vous, aussi, ma belle dame.❤️
he was buried alive
he remained under the dirt for the length of time to totally cover him in the dirt and clean the site and walk away (looooong time 15-20mins) and then still dig himself out of 4ft? of dirt..
that is not only impossible it is not probable to hold your breath for 15-20 minutes.
JT would have suffocated/been dead in 3 minutes, or less.
Agreed, su…..so, do you think Adam ( with his “seeing camera-eye-” dug him up, lickity-split?
Hi! I still think Tessa is involved in the whole thing… have thought so from the start.
And, Ron, so did I….if you recall. I do not like Tessa. I think she, her sister and Zach, came to GC with a purpose– the target?… the Newmans.
Yet, my friend, because I made such a stink about Kiki and Nina ( GH), I don’t even trust what I say myself. LOL. That effort came to no fruition. There’s always Willow?
There is something very sinister about Tessa’s seeming beatific quietude. Eerie and creepy!! Poor Mariah…
Agreed, and loved the laugh about “trusting yourself.” I don’t think Tessa intentionally saved JT; I think she undug him just to blackmail the others. And, you’re right– the whole thing with her sister and Zach– too convenient. Maybe Zach wasn’t really killed by Tessa’s sister! He’s alive and behind the whole thing… a cool twist to a bothersome story. From the get-go, Tessa ingratiated herself into the Newman fold… one after another, Nikki, Noah, Sharon, Nick and Mariah… too coincidental. Maybe I’m reading too many Agatha Christies.
hi Ron..
Tesa alone digging up JT would take her half an hour LOL
do tell..
from the time it took to bury JT
and
the time to dig him up, he would have been dead, suffocated, for an hours time..
no human can hold their breath for an hour, or more, JT died after the first foot of dirt was put atop of his mouth & nose with more coming. lol
It’s strange how well in sync we are. Ron—-I do think the same about Zach being alive—a very well-thought-out ruse?
I don’t ‘verbalize’ all the many, many thoughts/ideas that cross my mind…… I’m too fearful of being labeled “nuts”—-I get enough of that from my family. Ha!!
Nah….I think, as myself, and Jimh; you have a naturally “what if”, fertile mind. “Aggie’s” influence is minimal, I would think.
You may be right, my friend…..Tessa could be more deeply embedded in the JT muck than the naked eye can detect.
❤️
hi Celia!!
yah, that seems stupid enuff for the writers ahaa!
From the time they dumped him in the hole and shoveled dirt atop him, he had to be face dirt covered for at least 15 minutes before they left the park..’Anybody buried alive (in dirt) would cause suffocation within 3 minutes tops.
and– if Adam were to dig him up that would be another no air/suffocation 15 minutes..
I don’t know about you but- I couldn’t hold my breath for near half-hour ahaaaa!! crazy stuff !!
Neither can I, SuzieQ…..I guess only Wisconsinites can. HaHa…
Dang, Thad gets better with age
Sure does. Love his blue eyes.
Yes
How true
More beautiful than ever
How is that possible?
JT is alive!!!!!
So much for his ” never returning to Y&R.” I liked J.T too, but not as this obnoxious jerk.
I’m wondering how he unburied himself and where he went afterwards.. So I guess this means the other three will go free, if they don’t deceide to beat Phyllis to a pulp for letting them rot in jail while she was out saving her own skin
Yup, Soapqueenforever—exactly what I said. Phyllis is a snake in the grass–
What I found incredulous was her audacity in twisting her self-serving, in order to make what she did sound plausible.
Summer seemed to be genuinely concerned about her grandmother. Phyllis response was so incongruous and specious, my fingers itched to smack her upside the head!! LOL……she told her daughter that no jury wound find Nikki guilty. What mother would not protect her child?, said she…..
Duh?!?!…so why did she convince the women not to call the police? It was no brainer that Nikki would not have to face any punishment….
I truly believe these writers think we have a very short memory or that we are really dumb!!
The previous head writer ruined his character. I hope he comes back and redeems himself. He used to be a hero type for goodness sake. Also Paul needs to remember JT was like a son to him, when they both were last on Y&R, Paul and Christine pretty much threw him under the bus when he couldn’t get anything on Victor. I thought that was a cruel way for them to treat him. Also where are JTs parents? I always thought he was from Genoa City and his his parents lived there, but were never sen.
If I remember right, he only made mention of his parents, as did Catherine Chanceller, of whom she was acquaintances with, moved in the same circle, etc. Yes, Paul was not only his employer, but mentor and friend. You are right, Mal Young ruined his character, but I also have to blame T.L/J.T, for going along with the farce and agreeing to play J.T that way. He’d have to be really hurting for money, or seeing something good coming from J.T gone bad. Hopefully , when he returns, we will get some answers.
You would blame an actor for taking a job? He doesn’t have to be “hurting for money” to look forward to a challenge. Many actors like to play different types of roles, especially one that challenges them. He may have just been intrigued and signed on to see how it would play out.
Well, I hope he enjoyed the results more than a lot of us did. You are right, I guess. He isn’t the first actor to come back the second time, as a bad character, i.e, GH and Days.
I was always unhappy about the JT turn (as it did not seem genuine with character) and his demise. Honestly, I am ready for this road-to-nowhere plot line to end. I like a good JT in contract to the machinations of his in-laws, but Y&R needs someone with a darker side (if there be no Adam) and JT could fit that bill. I do enjoy Mr. Luckinbill’s presence on the show.
Is the epic fail of an investigation into this crime by the GCPD the reason we have Paul Williams in town again?
I hope Mr. Griffith has a long-term plan for Genoa City denizens, and I anticipate something special to honor Kristoff St. John come spring. It hurts me to think there will be no more Neil Winters if there is not a recast. I think the character is so important.
Agreed, Iakovos. JT’s transformation was iffy, fishy, and without merit. Why? ……at first I thought the writers were bringing spousal abuse to the fore…..
I certainly would have welcomed a strong storyline on “Battered Wife Syndrome”….. so prevalent in our society…..(not to make this one-sided; men are also abused–they simply are too emarrassed to report it).
I think the story would have been so much more compelling than this……are the PTB trying to save face by bringing JT back?
Well, Iakovos; I always come to the same conclusion each and every time. JT has a double–Adam? Zach? Ian Ward? Maybe Faison in JT mask? LOL.
I agree with Ron, Tessa is the clue.
JT being alive is beyond stupid, it’s beyond make-believe.
He would have suffocated within 3 minutes, or Less..
Bury your head in a pail of heavy dirt and breath, you couldn’t do it.
Your nose and mouth would fill with dirt you’d be quickly dead .
So– he was buried alive
he remained under the dirt for the length of time to totally cover him in the dirt and clean the site and walk away (looooong time) and then still dig himself out of 4ft? of dirt..
that is not only impossible it is not probable to hold your breath for 15-20 minutes.
JT would have been dead in 3 minutes..
((hold your breath for 3 minutes))
Too stupid even for make-believe.
As I said earlier (and months ago) someone unburied him– I think it was Tessa.
JT has always been the champion of women, the knight in shinning armor. This was well before the “Me Too” movement. Remember, it was JT who saved Colleen from the fire which Kevin had set in order to kill her.
I never bought JT as an abuser of women and killing him off also killed off the hope of an explanation for this character shift. JT had also been hit by lightening which could have dulled his pulse making those four idiotic women (with Phyllis being Queen Idiot) think he had died.
Please let him come back to life and put this horrid, implausible, utterly STUPID murder story line to rest. More importantly, please serve up a plausible explanation which doesn’t insult viewers which might explain the hows and the whys of what made JT’s character shift so abruptly.
At this point, who really cares?!?!? This entire story-line has been beyond ‘stupid’ since it’s inception LAST YEAR!!!
Just end this Mal Young-created mess and let’s start seeing Josh’s material!!!
Taping or just taking a break or just showing up in a few scenes? Feel like I am being teased, which I am.
I guess doesn’t matter. Chance to see JT come back even for one scene is better than none.
JT survived the shallow burial because his body went into shock, his breathing became extremely faint and shallow as did his heart rate along with his other organ functions. The dirt was loose enough it allowed in enough oxygen to keep him alive. When the workers came to install Jill’s art piece, he began to regain consciousness, waited until they dug awhile, and when they became distracted for a moment he was able to crawl out of his grave undetected and continue to wreak havoc on the Newmans. I have no idea if this is the plot line but I’m anxious to see how this all plays out because I have a bet with my husband.
I won’t disagree with you, Linda……it’s a soap. But, even having been buried in a shallow grave, sounds almost impossible to have dug himself out. He was, also, on myocardial medication, I believe?
My husband is a cardiologist, so after reading your post, I asked him. He sort of agrees with you…..except the part that he crawled out when no one was looking? His energy level would not have been up to par after being clonked on the head and buried alive.
Hey, we are allowed to speculate, right? I love the fact that you have a bet with your husband—sounds like “home, sweet home” to me. LOL.
I think Ron makes a “fantabulistic” point …. Tessa dug him out. ….with Zach’ help?
My question is……where is the real JT? Does Tessa and partner ( could be Zach; or, as I have suggested weeks ago: Ian Ward?) have him locked up somewhere?
Please let me know how the bet goes..LOL. ❤️
Maybe Adam helped dig him out?
That is another great guess, Harry. I had proposed Adam, among a few others, that it could be Adam “living” within the walls.
The real J.T. will come back with Paul who, being the hero he’s always been has cracked the case. He’s been on it the whole time! Doug and Melody are the longest running characters played by the original actors & never replaced!! KUDOS and respect! The fake J.T. was that Zach who uses women. We’ll get rid of the characters & storyline bringing Tad/J.T. back. He’s producing a lot these days so maybe hire him in that team too?
Yes, Linda, I think we do have to exercise our suspension of disbelief in order to enjoy this implausible story line. That’s what soap watching is all about–right? I want JT to be alive because it will put this idiotic murder story line to bed. Also, it’s been pointed out by some fans that JT has a heart condition caused by his being hit by lightening. It could be his pulse was so faint, that Larry, Curly, Mo and Phyllis could not feel it.
The “weaving in” of Tessa digging him out works for me but bringing Zach back seems like a stretch, unless somebody has seen the actor that played him wandering the set. But then again, it’s a soap opera so anything’s possible. I was really excited that your husband, the cardiologist, thought my idea might work. I’ll let you know if I get a “large lunch at a drive-up window” (which is the bet price) or not.
Hey, Linda….too funny!! My husband did agree about the ‘slowing’ down of the body—he thought that, perhaps, you have medical knowledge—-I certainly did not think about it–you are very clever!!❤️
I was an only child but I had three male cousins with whom I was very close. Their mother had a heart condition stemming from a serious bout of Rheumatic Fever as a child. She was one of the first Mayo patients that got a pacemaker in the 50’s – at least that’s family legend. At any rate, all these boys grew up and became doctors and it seems like it’s a big topic at family get togethers. Plus I’m a hypochondriac so I’m always researching diseases and biological peculiarities. And thanks for calling me clever. I have been waiting for so long for someone to acknowledge my strangeness as something other than what it is! (LOL)
Let me see…as a ghost…or…back from the dead…J.T. IS BACK!!!!! Furthermore, Ick-Toria, Sharon, Phyllis and (most of all) Nikki all each need to be taught a lesson…and J.T. is the one to teach them that lesson…B-O-O!!!!!!!!!!
Later.
Hi, Jay….just scrolling through and read your post—-I have finally corrected what was ailing my iPad—–it was hard to get through! Phew!!
I soooo agree with you, my friend…. but, Phyllis was the mastermind–can’t stand how TPTB manipulated this character away from her ‘originality’.
The other women are simply guilty of stupidity and being led as sheep by Phyllis…..she’ll get hers!!
Ron and I believe Tessa knows more than what she purports to know. I think she’s in deep with JT’s disappearance. She knows exactly where he is and I don’t trust Kerry either. ….I don’t know how but, she’s is not on the up-‘n-up—-she is not truthful with Jack, for one….but, I detect something else….can’t put my finger on it. Well, not yet, LOL.
I hope this ‘trial’ will blow up in Cricket’s face. I cannot stomach her nun-like look and “habillement”; wherein her ‘habit’ hides a ruthless persona.

Rosie O’Donnell Says She Will Return to ‘The View’ During its Season 30

Rosie O’Donnell revealed that she plans to head back to a seat at the table of ABC’s morning talk show The View.
The announcement came during Monday’s episode of The Tangle Podcast where she shared she will participate in “in whatever way they want” her or “just as a guest” for its upcoming 30th season.
The View’s season 30 will kick-off this fall in September. O’Donnell explained, “They’re bringing back all the hosts, I think. And, you know, I’m pretty proud of that show, what it’s become and how it really speaks to the people and to politics.”

Photo: ABC
ROSIE ON HER PREVIOUS GO-ROUNDS ON THE VIEW
As fans of The View know, O’Donnell famously had two different one-year stints on the talk show in 2007 and again in 2014- 2015. She often feuded with then co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
However, during her discussion with host, Kyle Ridley on The Tangle Podcast, O’Donnell also noted she often had tense moments with longtime moderator and anchor, Whoopi Goldberg.
O’Donnell also expressed, “Many, many people got the short end of the stick there. It was, you know, it was a factory where people were being churned in and out and their tenuous security, nobody got to be calm. It also was a show at the time that was run by a man. A show created by a woman, for women, about women, and the man was deciding what we should talk about. And that didn’t sit right with me, you know.”
Back in 2023, Brooke Shields had asked Rosie on her podcast, Now What? with Brooke Shields, about how she felt on her two stints at The View and all the controversy that surrounded it. Rosie at that time, stated, “I know this, it’s not the best use of my talent to get in a show where I have to argue and defend basic principles of humanity and kindness. It was not something I’d ever do again.”
You can check out the clip with Rosie and Kyle Ridley discussing her return to The View in some form for its upcoming 30th season below.
Then weigh-in: Would you be excited to see Rosie, even for a one-day or a week guest stint on the upcoming celebratory season of The View, or not so much? Let us know via the comment section.

Television Academy and NATAS Open Reunification Talks After Split Almost 50 Years Ago

In what could prove to be a massive shake-up ahead, both the TV Academy (ATAS), who presides over the Primetime Emmys, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), who preside over the Daytime Emmys, are in exploratory reunification discussions to merge the two organizations into one.
Both sides received an overwhelming vote and support from their boards to evaluate what a unified Academy could look like. However there is no formal calendar at this juncture for the discussions. In addition, because of the ongoing unification talks that should occur, the TV Academy board has voted to extend all current sitting Governors’ terms by one year so they can see the process through.
Boards at both organizations voted overwhelmingly to evaluate what a unified Academy could make possible: a strong vision for the Academy’s future, more effective thought leadership for the industry, broader service and support for members coast-to-coast, and new momentum and opportunities across the full complement of national Emmy competitions.

Photos: ATAS/NATAS
AFTER NEARLY 50 YEARS, CAN THE EMMYS BE UNDER ONE BANNER?
In a joint statement, ATAS and NATAS shared, “Television remains the most powerful medium we have to shape culture and prompt conversations that define us—no matter the size of the screen, With the business of television undergoing such a monumental transformation, this is the right moment to explore a reunification of our Academies, providing our members and our industry with a bolder voice advocating for them and a stronger partner to navigate the future with them.”
If the reunification talks continue, this would be the first time since the two Emmy organizations split back on June 30, 1977 that they have tried to come together, all of this after almost three decades of often uneasy and strained tension between the two.
The most recent joint change came in 2022 when a move of the game show categories went from NATAS to ATAS’ and now are in the Primetime Emmys.
Deadline notes that a unification of the two television academies who overall preside over nighttime and daytime programming would be similar how SAG and AFTRA used to represent performers from completely different dayparts of work.
Could the Daytime Emmys finally see some love in primetime and have their major categories televised as part of the annual kudofest every September? Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place live on Monday, September 14th starting at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT and air on NBC and stream on Peacock emanating from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. While, the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on Friday, October 30, time to be announced, live from the Hollywood Palladium and will be streamed on watchtheemmys.tv
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is a service organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. It recognizes excellence in television with the coveted Emmy Awards for News & Documentary, Sports, Daytime and Children’s & Family programming, as well as achievements in television Technology & Engineering.
The Television Academy (ATAS) strives to shape and advance the dynamic television landscape; cultivate a diverse, inclusive and accessible professional community; and advocate for the television industry while capturing the spirit of a new generation of content creators and industry professionals. Through innovative programs, publications and events, the Academy and its Foundation foster and empower storytellers. The Academy also celebrates those who excel in the industry recognizing their achievements through awards and accolades, including the renowned Emmy Award. Membership in the Academy is open to working professionals in the television industry.
So, would you like to see the Primetime Emmy and the Daytime Emmys fold into one show if the two unions reached a unification arrangement? Do you hope that after almost 50 years, the two organizations can finally make some serious headway? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
