Thad Luckinbill Makes a Return to The Young and the Restless

Photo: Getty

As had been rumored, Thad Luckinbill is indeed making an appearance on The Young and the Restless as J.T. Hellstrom.

According to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Luckinbill will appear next week on the May 2nd episode of the CBS daytime drama series.

While the story point has been kept under wraps, we do know that Audra (Zuleyka Silver) has been hinting to Elena (Brytni Sarpy) to talk to J.T. who has been behind bars.

All of this, in an attempt to try to come between Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nate’s (Sean Dominic) steamy trysts.

When viewers last saw J.T., he was recovering from brain surgery and was sent to do time for the attempted murder of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Looking forward to seeing Thad on Y&R again? What do you think will happen in this story? Share your thoughts and theories in the comment section below.

Hooray he’s so handsome and masculine

I’ve always loved JT’s character and I’m glad that he will be returning, but I only hope that it will turn out to be a more long-term stint.

Would love to see a J. T. return. We need a sexy guy with a deep connection to Genoa City. I’d like to see him be his previous, nice-guy self. Just keep him away from Victoria! I used to like her but her adolescent hatred of Adam, her insatiable lust for power, and her bizarre sexual hijinks have alienated me. She reminds me of a line Sophia fed Blanche on THE GOLDEN GIRLS: “You should have a turnstile installed in your bedroom!” Of course, in Miss Vicky’s case, it would go in her office.

Soaphound—why is it that I always agree with you? Why is it that you speak my mind? Victoria—blahhhh—She was also one of my faves—But this wanton behavior makes her look dedperste. For Nate????
She can try to be sexy from here to kingdom come—it “ain’t nevah gonna “ work. And, what is this obsession with Nate? Audra wants him, too. I don’t get it!!
As far as Blanche? Yeah—I set it—but, at least she had character, humor and charisma.

I’m happy he is returning. Hopefully with his return there will be some type of interest returning to the Y&R. There needs to be some excitement you know like sitting on the edge of a chair excitement. Example.. A Kidnapping? Burglar? Someone totally new moving into GC and causing havoc. Something! Please.. we need interest, excitement, love circle.

Kelly Monaco Celebrates 20 Years on GH and Sam’s Evolution: “All the Pieces Don’t Fit Perfectly Yet, But It’s Certainly Not Broken Anymore!”

Sunday, October 1st will mark the 20th anniversary of Kelly Monaco’s debut on General Hospital as Sam McCall.  And as the story goes, when Kelly finished her run on Port Charles as Livvie Locke (2000-2003), and the show had been canceled, the three major networks were all interested in her to join their soaps.

In the end, GH won out and fans of the ABC daytime drama series have been the lucky ones to have Monaco join the A-list cast of the iconic soap. Throughout Sam’s journey in Port Charles, viewers have seen quite the character growth. Sam started on the show as a con and hustler, and bloomed into a bonafide heroine and a private investigator.

Kelly shared with Soap Opera Digest in their latest issue, how she viewed the Sam of old, to the Sam of today: “Sam came on to the canvas only having herself and her brother, always taking care of someone, and never being taken care of.  I think the biggest evolution for her is starting from being a really lonely, scared woman and becoming a woman who is still really independent, but is protected by family and friends and love and relationships and loyalty, and she never had that before.”

In a very poetic way, Monaco added on her character’s development: “She came in bent and broken, and I feel like there’s a lot of her that’s still broken, but she’s constantly sort of putting the Rubik’s Cube together. All the pieces don’t fit perfectly, yet, but it’s certainly not broken anymore.”

Throughout Sam’s two decades in Port Charles she has been in love, suffered terrible lost, found family members, had children, and has been involved in some of the most dangerous and criminal cases involving many a villain as she tried to help bring them to justice.

Currently, Sam is involved in a romance with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).  Viewers wonder if Lulu ever wakes up out of her coma, would that spell trouble for their relationship, and in turn, give Kelly some great meaty story to work with?

Now, in the comment section below, share your congrats to Kelly for her 20-year-run on GH. Then let us know, what has been your favorite Sam story over the years?
