THAT KISS: Y&R's Billy and Phyllis Share A Highly Anticipated Liplock!

Courtesy/CBS
On Tuesday’s episode of The Young and the Restless, after several months of growing closer in their vendetta against Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), both Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) found themselves trapped by the storm that was going through Genoa City at Katherine’s mansion. The grand dame of Genoa City’s home will finally have a new resident, since Billy is moving in following his break-up with Victoria, and thanks to Jill (Jess Walton).
Phyllis and Billy sit on the floor by the fire to keep warm and share some wine, and discuss Billy’s new beginnings with him coming to the realization that it’s really over with Victoria and he is starting life AV … After Victoria.
Phyllis shares that she and Jack (Peter Bergman) are dealing with their relationship like grown-ups now. She wells up with tears as she talks about what Victor did to her and Billy. As Billy goes to get more firewood, he loses his balance and spills the bottle of wine they were drinking. Next thing you know, the duo share a passionate kiss! Billy apologizes and Phyllis she says this never happened between them. They agree to keep it a secret, because its such a betrayal to Jack. After a police officer comes to the mansion to help Billy and Phyllis be able to get to the GCAC, Jack asks where they were. Later, when questioned by Jack how Billy is doing, Phyllis tells Jack that Billy is an excellent place in his life right now.
What did you think of the kiss shared by Billy and Phyllis? Are you glad this long-awaited moment finally happened? What do you think about the on-screen chemistry between Y&R’s A-list stars: Jason Thompson and Gina Tognoni? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

Billy and Phyllis are vile. Neither deserve Jack in their lives. Here’s hoping they drive off a cliff together. #FreeJackOfThisCrap
Agreed.
This is just more predictable recycled junk from Y&R. This so called friendship between Billy and Phyllis is so forced and contrived as was the setup to their first kiss. Billy sleeping with Jack’s wife has already been done with Sharon. Phyllis cheating on Jack, while she lets him beleive things are good, was also already done in her affair with Nick. Jack practically raised Nick when he was his stepfather and Jack is basically Billy’s father figure ever since John died. Phyllis sure does go for the juggler with Jack by cheating on him with his one time stepson and now his brother. Pathetic storyline.
Darn…You just knew something like this was coming. I wish the writers would leave it alone, but they can’t help themselves. I’m a fairly new viewer, but already I see it’s like musical chairs in Genoa City.
Not a fan. Personally I prefer AH and JT and the Billy and Victoria seven year love story. Not that it matters here.
This would have never happen if Billy Miller and Michelle Staffiord were playing the characters!
Not sure about the editorializing in the headline here. Was this really “long-awaited”? By whom? Certainly, the comments so far show no one was really waiting for this development. I’m not surprised, but I’m not in favor of it either.
Very true sonniorsolita (I still love that name btw! Love me some Sonni!) A few weeks qualify as “long-awaited”? lol
YES !
Thank You ; @ sonniorsolita
WELL SAID !
LOL… I will fervently forever marquee… how; I adore Victoria and Billy
they are…. in fact… a current day… this generation supercouple
so… play this out… all you can…. Jason Thompson and Amelia Heinle… from the get go… of JT’ debut…. once again… cemented this supercouple
Victoria does not and should not… play 2nd fiddle…
Yand R needs to bring back… wishful thinking…
either Chris McKenna as Mark Harding… or Scott Elrod as Joe Clark
yike
This wasn’t long awaited by me either. I’ve seen it coming for months. The so called passion filled kiss made me wanna puke. MS’s Phyllis affair with Nick behind Jack’s back was so wrong but so hot. This kiss was so wrong but not hot in the least.
BINGO!
It was about as believable as Jill, after a lifetime of coveting the Chancellor Estate, just handing it over to anyone…son or not. Losing interest rapidly.
I really wish they’d get rid of JFP. She has now dismantled two iconic Y&R sets with the Newman Ranch and now the Chancellor mansion. I was so annoyed in seeing what Billy has done to the living room and how all traces of Katherine and her home are gone.
I’m done with it…at least for awhile. I turned it off halfway through Thursday and didn’t watch Friday. When these shows piss me off too much I give them a long break…sometimes for years. Last time was during the whole MAB fiasco.
That was like losing Jeanne Cooper all over again. Soooo tragic. How could they do that?!?!
These two are impostors! I could care less since it is not Michelle Stafford or Billy Miller! Regardless, these two kissing makes me sick! ANY line Billy feeds Victoria is ALWAYS a line and he doesnt lover her or he wouldnt have kissed Phyllis! Phyllis kissing Billy is a direct slap in Jack’s face and he should give her the boot immediately! This show is #1 and has been for years so I guess they can fudge up two decent characters and expect us to keep watching! I will but I keep fresh batteries on the coffee table so I can FF through this shit!
Yeah, it’s pretty gross, and not long awaited at all. I completely agree.
This has been on a slow brew for the last month or so. I knew it was coming. I love it and hate it at the same time. Both actors are killing it in their respective roles. After all the miscasts with Billy Abbott after Billy Miller left , I feel that Jason Thompson has hit it hard and hit it well in his take on Billy Abbott. Gina Tognoni took a little bit to become who she is now. I like her take on Phyllis. She is definitely no Michelle Stafford BUT she is doing amazing work. I am not sure how I feel about Billy and Phyllis as romantic interests but I can say they do have some chemistry. They have history together for sure. I just know that Billy loves Victoria so much that it is going to kill him to be with Phyllis while he untangles his heart from Victoria. I am impressed with the speed and impact Y&R has taken on. There are only one or two stories that bore me. They are definitely on fire as of late. I don’t like Jill Firing Phelps or Chuck Rewrite History Pratt but they are slaying right now so go to it. My only complaint is that they are bringing on too many outsiders. The cast on Y&R are some of the best of any soap cast and there really is no need for new characters. I mean seriously they are putting Noah (Robert Adamson) on recurring status and bringing in new characters? Put Summer out of the picture too. She is a bad version of Lindsay Lohan without the cute childhood acting credits to her benefit. Pairing her with Luca Santori is a bad idea. I swear Summer sleeps with anything that breathes. Kyle, Austin, and god knows how many others….Maybe she could get pregnant and give her baby to Sharon since Sharon is about to lose Sully/Christian.
They will never give Summer up because she is either related to someone higher up or she’s holding something over their heads. That girl doesn’t give a rat’s patoot about the show or the other cast, she just keeps taking front burner story’s that any of the younger ones could play and better. She even has old Vic in her pocket. He wrote on twitter how he was excited to be working with her.
The actress, and the one who plays Abby, worked with JFP on Hollywood Heights or whatever that show was. Robert Adamson did too and he was just dropped to recurring. Well, that’s till my theory as to why Summer is so prominent.
Hi Mo, I believe it but if we ever get asked again by Sony or the television channel what we would like to see change I will be the first to say they shove this twit down our throats on a daily base’s. I don’t know where you are in the show but where I am today was first day in court but first we had to put up with Summer walking into the restaurant and wanting to know what Jack/Phyllis & Billy we’re talking about, then it was Phyllis & Summer fighting, then it was Summer and her new conquest. Oh for pete sake just call it Hunter King show and leave it at that. She always makes me think of someone who’s been sucking lemons all day. When she gets a bad review on her twitter she calls it the haters. OMD Can she be so dumb not to understand she’s not liked.
I do not hate the actress who plays Summer but I do hate the character of Summer.
My God, now she is taking Grandpa Victor’s side over her own mother knowing full well that her mother was raped (yes, legally, that was rape) by the head of a drug cartel whom Victor hired to take Jack’s place?
This makes Victor an accomplice in the repeated raping of Phyllis, Summer’s mother.
Summer is horrible. That she could take the side of the man who hired someone to rape her mother just makes her even worse. I’ll never understand why the show clings to this unfortunate character.
i actually enjoy summer and the actress hunter and wish people would stop bashing a young girl… its pretty lame and low
Congratulations your the first and about the only one who enjoys her so called acting. Maybe if she wasn’t shoved down our throats every day or two, maybe if she would let other young actors have a shot at a story, maybe if she wasn’t catered too with front burner stories all the time, maybe if she wasn’t the pet of J.F.P. & Pratt she might get respect but alas that wont happen so Damien enjoy!
You are in a small fan club liking Summer BUT thats your choice and its fine. A lot of people despise her for chewing up front burner stories with less than capable skills. I dont like the character but by no means would I bash the person. She is a human with feelings.
Damian, I actually think the actress is okay and she is absolutely beautiful in a very unique wat.
But the writing afforded to her character has been dreadful. I think that is what folks are responding to.
I think it was too soon for the kiss and do not at all like what Chuck Pratt and Jill Farren Phelps have done to the iconic Chancellor Mansion, changing the color of the walls and treating a long time setting of many historic Y&R scenes with such disrespect. I find it so out of character that they would have Jill just out of the blue sign the place she has all this history in over to Billy and that’s it. End of story. No input from Phillip? What about Chance? The whole thing is an outrage to this long time Y&R viewer.
What they’ve done to the chancellor mansion is a travesty. It was so unnecessary.
Molly…EXACTLY!!!!! Also, one of the colors in that house confuses me. I mean…is the color supposed to be blue??? Or green??? Well, either way, the color is UGLY AS HELL!!!!! BEYOND HORRENDOUS!!!!!!
Have a good one, Molly.
Thank you, Mr X. I was expecting to hear more collective outrage about that.
They did the same thing with the Newman ranch. After the fire that Sharon started Victor had picture of the farm and had it rebuilt. It never looked the same. I still remember the living room at Christmas with the beautiful tree in the corner. The way the piano sat near the window. All changed. I guess his pictures we’re not as good as he thought.
Nikki…I know. True. Girlfriend, it was bad enough when they remodeled (or whatever) the Newman ranch. But those pinheads at Y&R went W-A-Y TOO FAR when they stupidly messed with the Chancellor estate like that. BEYOND TACKY!!!!! I think that poor Katherine Chancellor herself would very, very angrily turn over in her grave if she could see what has become of her beloved Chancellor home/mansion. And Molly is SO RIGHT ON…TRAVESTY AND UNNECESSARY!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!
Have a good one, Nikki.
Later.
Not liking it. Thought it might be coming, but don’t like it.
Jason and Gina are the best looking couple on daytime. Great actors too.
Phyllis and Billy getting it on was so sick to me. Oh, Lordy, Lord…..I have two brothers-in-law. Oh, yuck, the thought gives me the itchy hives. I think they were showing their true selves, albeit the did not go through with the deed.
The scene was a complete turn-off for me.
This is NOT Phyllis….this is NOT Billy.
However, it would serve Jack right after what he did to Patty; his wife, long ago. Misdeeds catch up with us….even in soaps. LOL.
Also, since we are discussing nasty, unethical subjects, I find Michael going against his code of ethics and the judicial system hard to swallow. ….not very sagacious, is it?
Is Michael reverting to his old self? He came a long way….why sacrifice all he has accomplished, both personally and professionally? I think he is playing devil’s advocate…pun intended.
As I stated before, IF Victor’s victim was Lauren I could understand Michael throwing caution to the wind but for Phyllis, hell no!
Oh, my Timmmy. I love my Michelle. But, yeah, Michelle’s Phyllis should have taken her daughter with her.
This situation is so f***** up, ahem, I mean, so messed up. Here is Summer in her grandfather’s corner; yet, she’s fraternizing with one of his arch-enemies. Go figure, huh?
Michael, Michael, Michael……this is soooo depressing. It took a loooong time for viewers, and the GC denizens to accept Michael; why ruin his reputation? For Phyllis? No good friend would ask anyone to compromise his values like this. And, Phyllis and Michael go far back…..this is a friend?
Both characters actually are serial cheaters and sorry the Billy/Victoria love story has no meaning when their have been four actors playing the character and she only had chemistry with one. Gina is too young for the role and it is showing when they paired her with Peter Bergman/Jack . They should have sent Phyllis off to New York when Stafford left and taken her daughter Summer with her.
Perfectly said, kay. I wrote the words to Timmm. What a coincidence….LOL.
I have been lamenting Gina’s age….being too young for Jack since she got to GC.
I do not understand why TPTB have this compulsive need to keep him forever young. Reminds me of Rod Stewart. HaHa.
I LOVE Peter Bergman… he carried the Abbott Clan… the 1st family of Genoa City
Jack is showing his age… and it distresses me… that he’s even acting as much
to see him paired with GT’ Phyllis… is not working
the thing that bothers me… is that… why would Y&R take any thing from Eric Braedon’ Victor NEWMAN… and see jack…after all these years… cigar and rest on his laurels… for keeping the Abbott relevant.
I can’t imagine jack being written any other way than seemingly coming in 2nd to Victor
Thank you Peter Bergman
K/Kay is spot on here.
Moreover, I would really like to hear some outrage upon it being announced by Billy to Victoria that Jill has left the Chancellor estate to him and that she and Colin have trotted off to parts unknown.
They didn’t even have the courtesy to write in a farewell scene complete with flashbacks, memories and tears.
Where is the outrage about that? Who cares if Phyllis and Billy shared a kiss? After all, Jack slept with his stepmother, Jill. This is Y&R soap fodder and is par for the course.
Well here we go on the outrage JFP is slowly changing the whole feel of this show to change sets that have been on for years to a cheap imitation is beyond demeaning wait until she gets her bloody hands on the Abbott mansion set and she will. MTS was devasted when they had the character of Sharon burn it down and then replace it with something out of Sears & Roebuck. I will put this show back on my watch list when the Bell children go marching into her office and say B…h get out of my Dad’s chair!!!!!!
I don’t know who Gina Tognoni has been portraying in the last year plus but it’s certainly not Phyllis Summers/Abbot/Newman.
I’m onto you, CeeCee! LOL.
I just saw this, Dylan.
You’re onto me, into me or on to me? Different meanings.
Lol…please don’t tell me you think I’m a man? Just as you do su0000. HaHaHa!!
@Patrick.
Hi, Patrick,
I thought the first family in Genoa City to grace the CBS screen was the BROOKS family? I am not sure.
We do agree on Jack looking more like Phyllis’s father; not her husband, though.
I’m not sure i understand what you mean by, ” coming second to Victor. Do you mean he 1st in dastardly deeds or in citizen status?
Furthermore, my brain is protesting everything about Phyllis’s character. My preference and admiration with Michelle is everlasting. How I feel about the actress is well known.
However, we are talking about the character…..and, Phyllis was never pious. So, what’s up with Gina’s version of Phyllis? Are we expected what she did in her past life? Daniel is not even Danny Romalotti’s bio son. Phyllis manipulated the paternity tests. Danny loved Daniel, thus, he the relationship with his “son”. I do not think I need to enumerate all the irreverent, nasty, illegal ‘stuff’ Phyllis pulled.
But, I really loved the character, regardless .
So, when was this benevolent being born? After the coma? Just my opinion, Patrick.
Correction: are we expected to forget….
….he maintained his relationship with his son.
Thank you, Jay Trotter. I have been singing that song since Gina joined the Y&R cast.
I don’t care what a few say that Gina is a ‘better’ Phyllis….that’s neither here nor there. How could she make a better Phyllis? The only explanation to being a completely different person….with a different essence/aura would be the coma? I do not buy that.
Furthermore, i think it is pathetic how Victor’s family has turned against him. Oh, yes! I get it, he is one of my least favorite characters, but, unless there was monetary value to gain by his children, then shame on them for doing this to their own father/grandfather.
Victor does belong in jail, but, we all know it will not be an everlasting thing. Not unless Eric is leaving the show. So, this is all moot…DRAMA.
For once Nikki is right…there will be retribution. But, Victor does not have to necessarily be free to quench his thirst for revenge. He will seek retribution from within his four-walls of a jail cell, if that’s his intention. No iron bars will stop him; merely a minor inconvenience.
@Harry 1.
My darling Harry. I do not think any of us is disputing the Phyllis was raped. But, if you remember, months ago, many of us were flabbergasted by the fact that Phyllis was completely taken in by Marco.
Yes, I would not have put too much stock in ‘ Jack”s’ personality much, myself, considering his being a victim of head trauma after the collapse of the UNDERGROUND. However, albeit Marco was Jack’s spitting image ( tee-hee, and guffaw), Phyllis, knowing her husband soooo intimately, should have known Marco was not he. It is like a fingerprint…hint, hint. Gestures, sweet-nothings, routines, the lovemaking itself, should have all been clues….liiiike, ya know, Harry? The ‘other’ Phyllis would not have been fooled.
That is exactly what i am talking about, tight there. These writers make characters look like morons…..not believing certsin aspects of them.
I think they are going to kill off Christian Leblanc. I like Gina and Jason as Billy and Phyllis- I did not really care for the previous Billy. I know that if they would have re-cast Erica Kane I would have needed to be sent to wherever they have Patty now and I hear she is coming back and I find her to be mesmerizing with her entire being and the strange kitty kat little baby birdie things she says and if she has to pick up a knife, then there is always a banquet! Seems like instead of a fire or explosion or plane crash for this May sweeps, we are getting a docey-doe of partner switches. I do hope Nikki beds Neil, or snorts some coke or something besides just get drunk.
Supposedly they are killing off one of the cast and since he will now lose his ability to practice law and kind of just disgraced himself publicly- although no press in site- my money is on his demise. Also he had cancer, mistreated his wife and then really just dropped the whole thing there seems like they have lost interest in his character and now I have, too.
What if somehow Marco Anucelli had plastic surgery to look like Billy and slipped in the hospital when he was dying? He did not die, right, so he is still supposedly alive, well and a psycho so now real Billy is being held somewhere just as Jack was and this Billy is Marco. Poor Poor Phyllis. Fool her once, shame on you– !
Hmmmm. Interesting, Peggy. One never knows. If that’s the case, and if Phyllis ends up in bed with ‘Billy’, then, she’ll be the victim of a double whammy. LOL
I love it and look forward to “Philly” as a new supercoupling. But I am hating Shawn the pregnant gal that is going to do a number on Sage- who might as well be re-named Valene Ewing-Newman. I adore Kelly Sullivan and so so miss her as Connie Falconari and now she just gets thrown under the bus, train, you name it. Shawn is going to seduce Nick and while it is delicious and disgusting I hope at some point- oh wait- she will get back with Adam and the two of them will take over Genoa City.
I MISS Connie Falconari so much on GH
kudos… to WANTING and will WAIT… till Sage and Adam reunite… and profess their love for each other… and take Genoa City by storm
this would be the new it couple…
Connie, my queen. Yes, Shawn must go or zika virus!
Yes, Shawn is a Yawn, and whiny annoying one at that.
Harry…Since Colin and Jill have been “shipped to parts unknown” maybe we can have Robert back at GH!
It bugs me when they hire family members of other stars as it is so hard for anyone to get a break in Hollywood and still waiting for mine so yes I hate her.
Harry…y-e-p. I agree. Also, as far as I’m concerned, that Shawn chick is not as innocent as she looks. Just saying……….
She is about to get a lot more annoying as she falls for Nick and plots against Sage. Two words. Mosquito bite.
I do not care for this potential pairing at all.
Hi Carol..
Jack and Phyllis used to be a great couple when it was Peter and Michelle..
I never cared for Gina/Philips, she is way too dominating for this mellowed Jack..
Jason/Billy and Gina/Phyllis have a much greater presence a more vibrant chem.
I’m up for Bill&Phil ..
Hey, su0000…ME, TOO!!!!! To me, Jack has become SO WISHY-WASHY and that prissy-filled Victoria has gotten W-A-Y TOO RIDICULOUS!!!!! And, besides, I think that Jason Thompson (Billy) and Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) have a CHARMING AND EFFORTLESS on-screen chemistry!!!!!!
Just saying……….
I saw that kiss coming, for months, it was obvious.
No surprise for me..
I like Phil and Billy much better than Phil and Jack.
Phil&Bill are HOT!
Jack has become such a powder puff, a pansy ick..
And– when will they stop calling a 45? year old man Billy, it’s so Hillbilly lol
Time he takes on William/whatever..
Or, Billy Idol…Billy Ocean. LOL
Or a Hampton’s staple, Billy Joel!
Of course, my love. How remiss of me. LOL.
My above post, on its own, makes no sense. What happened to the previous one? Strange.
HELENA is alive!
I’ll take any name for him but Billy-Boy-Abbott. I am so sick of hearing Victor call him that.
I thought they would drop that when Jason was hired! Its silly for Victor to say that to a 30 something year old man!
I think we all saw it coming….for a while now, su. I said as much.
The thing is, the ‘incident’ did nothing for me…plus, I doubt I am alone in this, notwithstanding these actors’s talent; I do believe that what turned most of us off was not only the cheating, but Billy cheating with his brother’s wife……and, by the same token, Phyllis cheating with her husband’s brother. Ewwww!! Then again, some people find such erotic.
I see it more as both of them are hurting bad. Jack and Phyllis have been at odds and Victoria well I am way tired of her. Now if Phyllis had not slept with Jack after she emerged from her comatose state and fake Jack was there then and she slept with him and did not know I could buy that but if I order linguini and get penne- well, I am going to send it back. I don’t see the rape. I see she was tricked and defrauded and not a nice thing but she did participate and consent albeit unwittingly. I have done the deed with a few Marcos and regret it but try to make better choices now.
@Peggy.
Hey, Peggy,
I understand what you are saying….boils down to being human….feelings; one’s state of mind; heartache; anger….etc. all part of the human psyche.
However, we are not talking about youngsters here. We are talking about two grown adults who crossed the line. They knew exactly what they were doing. I hold no sympathy, albeit I was grateful they did not indulge any further….that’s not to say they won’t in the future.
This side of their personae is the only resemblance to Billy and Phyllis. They are manic cheaters.
Billy is constantly trying to convince Victoria ( or himself?) he is a changed man. No, he is still a kid in his head, a spoiled brat and always will be. Jason Thompson’s acting is disappointing to me.
It is my opinion, so no bashing from his fans, please…LOL
Yes, Peggy, my friend, there are many men and women, in reality, who are miscreants, as you have stated. Both genders get taken-in by low-lives. However, in Phyllis’s case, she knew her husband intimately. And, from what I understand, no two men are ‘alike’.
I suspect Phyllis ENJOYED the new ‘Jack’. I bet deep down, she knew and is now mad at herself for the guilt she feels. She probably tells herself she should have known better.
Then there’s Karma. Phyllis has USED men in her lifetime left and right, to her advantage. So, i pity her not.
Billy? Well, he’s getting his comeuppance, as well….as is Jack, as is Victor.
You hit the nail on the head, my friend. You try to make better choices. I wish some of the general public would be as wise, as yourself. Even in this, the wonderful, fictitious world of soaps.
Hey su0000…’a powder puff’, ‘a pansy ick’…LOVE IT!!!!! L-O-L!!!!!
I missed it and I’m glad I did. I said once on another thread and I will say it again– there isn’t one character on the show that I like anymore. The writers have changed every character’s soul that I am having a hard time empathizing with any of them. The dialogue that comes out their mouths annoys me to no end; it is like I am watching a parody of the once great show that I loved.
I totally understand Mary SF…that is another reason why I quit watching this once great show. It’s so sad.
Thanks to Mr. Pratt! When he leaves, perhaps Y&R can return to it’s nicer days.
Sometimes the chemistry between two actors is so intense — Joshua Morrow and Michelle Stafford is a good example — that the story seems inevitable.
This is not one of those cases.
Agreed. Could not have explained it better, Alan.
I guess i am not the only one to not have felt the vibe, the rapport, the hotness between them.
Michelle and Joshua is an excellent example.
For me, another example of steamy hot was Greenlee and Leo. WOW!!
Gina and Jason are so sexually vapid together…..No sparks; no nothing. Plus, the acting afterwards was so bad, I almost choked on my own saliva. LOL.
Saw it coming and TOTALLY not interested.
This is something I have long been dreading! I’m not thrilled with the vengeful Phyllis, and wish that characters could be written with some charm and decency again. The next kiss should be a kiss goodbye to Mr. Pratt.
The problem is, drhelenruth, Gina Tognoni is commanding neither the scene nor the role. She is not believable as Phyllis. A little change is expected, when faced with a recast…..but a complete role-reversal is not.
Oh, there are those who feel Gina is doing a better job than Michelle. That’s hard to believe since Michelle started the role.
Gina is a great actress, love and respect her….but, the love-affair Michelle had with the audience as Phyllis cannot be duplicated or replicated. It’s that simple, in my opinion.
Also, TPTB are speaking from both sides of their mouths. In one way they uphold Phyllis as this sudden sanctimonious victim, in the next, they place her in a compromising situation with her brother-in-law.
Which is it….the good girl with high morals whose body, mind and essence were soiled and violated?……Or, the courageous Valkyrie who took command of any situation and came out the victor? ( no pun intended). LOL
Phyllis cannot be two people….but, that is exactly how the character is being portrayed…..unsteady!! ….as far as I am concerned.
But Cee Cee, Gina cannot try to replicate Michelle’s Phyllis. If she did so, folks would be complaining about her trying to copy Stafford. Gina is making Phyllis her own and doing a hell of a job of it.
I never liked Stafford’s Phyllis (and I hate her Nina even more) but I love Tognoni’s interpretation of the character.
I just think Gina cannot win with the steadfast, rabidly loyal Stafford fans who cannot let go of her as Phyllis anymore than the Billy Miller fans can let go of him as Billy Abbott.
I maintain that viewers need to let both actors go and give the new actors a chance and stop allowing the ghosts of the former actors haunt their perspectives.
Hey, Harry1,
You are right. Gina should not try to replicate Michelle. No actor/actress should. I do understand that.
However, it is not the actress to which I refer….it is the character. I realize each thespian brings his/her own ‘idiocyncrasies’; flavor….but not, a reversal of perdonality.
You are also right in the fact that once we allow ourselves to completely be taken by an actor/actress, it does become a ‘burden’ to reconcile with giving the recast the benefit of the doubt.
I have been guilty of that a few times….eg, Kiki. But, whereas I have completely accepted Erin in that role, I cannot get past Gina’s submissive, BRF. The same with Justin Hartley…I adore him.
Now, I will admit that the spectacle in court is more true to form with Phyllis….that’s more of the Phyllis we knew. It is this storyline, which should be persued, interests me more.
If you recall, Harry, one of the very last scenes, on Y&R, Stafford executed her artistry fluidly and credibly….this was when she went nuts, and started flinging things and trashing someone’s house ( or could have been her own…I cannot quite remember), but, it was much like the same craziness Nina displayed in Silas’s apartment, when pretending to be in a wheelchair.
I do believe, Harry, that we, the viewers are giving Gina and Jason a chance as recasts. But, for some of us, the recast becomes an outcast. I wish I could shine a positive light on these outstanding actors, but, Harry, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. Sometimes it works, while other times it does not. My opinion may change….who knows?
She must have undiagnosed DID- ?!? Or she is bipolar. Or she might have caught a bug from Marco and left unchecked causes mental illness.
@Frank.
Lol. Yeah, what else is left? Sooner or later everyone is afflicted with bi-polar disorder.
The Phyllis I know certainly “ain’t” in GC.
I would really like Ashley Abbott to kiss Tad Martin and then take it much further. It may not cure her cancer, but she will feel better and so will I. Would love to see them marry and be happy for at least 2 weeks.
Or bring Kelly’s body back for burial and he does experiments on her and reunited and it feels so good.
If Luca would seduce Summer and get her hooked on drugs, have a baby, and then force her to smuggle drugs and lose a few teeth, ok, team Summer. But he is going to hook-up with Victoria and as long as he follows the above scenario, fine. I don’t care for him nor find him especially attractive but I am thinking he is going to be around awhile, make babies and incorporate the Santori family into the Genoa City landscape.
Ok but then poke out one of Luca’s eyes and strap on a black patch. Ahoy, matey!
I read two articles today about a radio host who is suing William Shatner and demanding a paternity test, as Shatner is denying he is the man’s father and from the picture of the two together I am guessing he is Shatner’s son. I would like to see a new son or daughter of Victor and or Jack to pop into GC.
The “new” Phyllis and Billy are ELECTRIC. I love Peter Bergman as an actor but, Jack does not deserve Phyllis. He’s too old and too mediocre for her dynamism. Billy is a much better partner for Phyllis in every way, especially physically. Perhaps it’s time for Jack to babysit Nicki and keep her sober til Victor gets out and takes her back one more time or, they could bring back Kelly and let her adore Jack again since we know she’s not really dead.
Count me in with the Philly fans. That kiss and all their love scenes are definitely long awaited by me.
As for Summer, she’s delightful and anyone who thinks she gets too much air time must not watch regularly. Marissa, Lily, Hilary and Abby have gotten equal time and all of the young actresses are superb. I’m so happy they’ve finally developed Abby’s character and given her a chance to show her chops. I also love the actor playing Luca and hope they will accept that Kevin is getting older and replace Noah and bring in a new Kyle and have and also have Fenmore return.
Like all soaps, Y&R is an old show with an average viewer age of about 60 (and that’s an average) but if the show is to continue to survive and thrive as it has for all these years, change is critical. No other show balances all the generations as well as Y&R in my opinion so, Kudos to them for making sure Y&R is
YOUNG and Restless, not just Jack and Victor. Those two are great actors who’ve earned their stripes but, eye candy with skills is the prescription for love in the afternoon.
